Creating Artifacts for "old Movie" look

I'm trying to create a symbol that will go over a silver screen in a project i'm working on. The symbol I want to repeat over and over and create an artifact look. Like how in the old moves you would sometimes get those lines on the sides or splotches.
I've tried doing a mask (So that only a certian amount of space is visable.) but it jsut flashed black and white.

Also, and I know I'm going to get flac for mentioning this, Matrox has a pretty good "Old Movie" effect. We've got the RT.X2 card and I used the effect for some footage a client needed for a Western-themed event. It let you control the amount of dust and scratches, the jitter effect and the grainness as well as making it pure black and white or sepia colored.
If you're looking for a free method, you can create the effect manually using After Effects, but it takes some effort. I'm pretty sure there are some tutorials out there to show you how to do it.

Creating thubnails for Quicktime .mov files.

Is there any way to create thumbnails for .mov files?

1] Try it with another user account (make one if you need to in Apple menu > System Preferences > Accounts)
2] If its only happening in your account:
Inside your hard drive, in the Users folder should be your user home folder (with your account name.) Within that folder is a folder called Library... open that and look for a QuickTime folder within, pull that QuickTime folder out to the Desktop. Do the same for Internet Plug-ins and throw away the ~/Library/Caches/QuickTime folder too. Then, open Preferences and pull out com.apple.quicktime... (all of them) and the QuickTime Preferences file.
Then log out (Apple menu) and back in (or restart) and try again.
3] If its happening for all users then try:
Pull the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plist to the desktop (Your QuickTime Pro registration is in that file so don't throw it away, just move it out, restart and try again.)
4] If there are still problems, try repairing your disk either with the OS X install disc (run Disk Utility from the menu bar) or by rebooting in Singel-User-Mode and running fsck. Then repair permissions with Disk Utility.
Let us know if you still have trouble.

How to created GR for old GI

1)The Business is having some STO which were created in 2009, they were having the Delivery and Goods issue,
Now user wants to do the GR for that Delivery and system is giving the error" Posting date different than Goods issue posting date"
The present running month is 2001/May,,, How to deal with this situation.
2) If User said the do the goods receipt for the STO which were created in 2009 and it is having 351 mov type goods issue i,e also created in 2009 only, now user wants to do the GR for that STO, but when we cross check the STO the Goods issue document is archived. then how to deal with situation.,

can you give the message number of error" Posting date different than Goods issue posting date" ?
I am not sure if SAP is really checking for 351 movement if you perform a 101 to the PO, I think you just need enough quantity in transit.

Settings for old film look

I'm new here and need some help, or I mean lots of help. I am sure these are simple but....
1) I have a Canon XHA1S and Adobe Premiere CS4 and need to know how to get the lines effect in the film to make it look old and scratched?
2) How do I get the old yellowed look from the color correction, right? Or do I need a filter?
3) One last question, How do I get black and white if i wanted?

Digieffects has been coming out with some sweet, very cheap moduals based on plug-ins they bought from Buena Software and Walker FX.
Camera Mapper is amazing, it makes camera projection a snap (even better than PS's Vanishing point). You could build amazing 3d Matte Paintings and backgrounds with it.
The equally amazing photoreal Falloff Lighting fills a huge gap in AE's light/3d system. Having the option for inverse/square (in plain english: it gives you option to make AE's light actually work like a real light does). A bargain at 50 bucks.

Creating menu for authored movies

Hi all,
I want to create a new menu for a movie. The problem is that the movie is already in a TS folder, and I don't know how to link the menu (play button) to the movie in the TS folder (iDVD won't accept vob files). Is this possible in iDVD or any dvd editor?

My problem is not with authoring the movie however, it's that I don't understand how to add a menu to an already authored movie.
Since iDVD can't open an already authored movie, I know that it's impossible to finish it all within iDVD, but I like the menu editor in iDVD, and was hoping there was a way to create a dvd menu and then link it to an authored movie (by changing the scripting).As I said, iDVD cannot do what you described. Toast 7 Tatinium can. The VIDEO_TS already has the menu script and the encoded movie together. iDVD cannot take them apart and re-piece with a different menu script. Toast can take the main movie part and piece it with Toast's menu.

What filter is being used that gives that old timey look where you have vertical bars that move around in the image? Is this a filter or an effect that has to be built?

If you use the CGM aged film free plugin you can obtain some decent results.
Are you after something like this (See the first few seconds)?

If so then I used the filter above mentioned but I added the flicker effect in FCP using the blink filter since CGM does not give you that.

You'll need to play with parameters in order to get some sort of acceptable random scratches, hair and grain.

Create batch for 531 movement in transaction COR6N

Hi,
I am using COR6n to record process order confirmations. As part of the usual 261 and 101 movements, I want to record a 531 (goods receipt of a bi-product). This is to record bi-product coming off the production line that can be used in other manufacturing processes. When I try tor record a 531 mvt in cor6n I am prompted for a batch number, the system does not create one automatically. Even if I go to the menupath Component -> Batch Management -> Create Batch I get the following error
Error when creating a new batch
    Message no. GOODSMOVEMENT016
Diagnosis
    When creating a new batch for material abcde in plant 123 an error
    has arisen.
Procedure
    You have the following options:
    o   Check automatic batch assignment.
    o   Check whether the material is currently locked.
    o   Check the batch number range.
I have maintained the necessary batch management customizing. Is there any way to create a batch number in cor6n for a 531 mvt?

in general it shall be possible for GR by-product.
Message GOODSMOVEMENT 016 appears under the following conditions when tyring to create a batch:
              material_not_found
              plant_not_found
              stoloc_not_found
              lock_on_material
              lock_on_plant
              lock_on_batch
              lock_system_error
              no_authority
              illegal_batch_number
              no_batch_handling
              no_valuation_area
              valuation_type_not_found
              no_valuation_found
              wrong_status
              interval_not_found
              number_range_not_extern
              object_not_found
              error_check_batch_number
              no_external_number
              no_customer_number
As you can see there are many possibilities. You may try to find the reason, at best together with an ABAPer, checking the sy-subrc when calling function module VB_CREATE_BATCH.
But from far away it is almost impossible to find out the reason.

Create subfolders for many movies

My kids and me have hundreds of videos made at home. We would like to organise them on the Apple TV into folders. For example, under the folder Birthday, we would like to put various years and all our videos of birthdyas during the year in that folder.
Is there a way of doing this ? We can create folders and playlists in iTunes, but these playlists disappear and all the videos are alphabetically listed on the apple TV.
Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Unfortunately folders are not currently available for movies etc. Many believe this is one of the biggest omissions from the tv and I am one of those that agree.
Whether or not this gets included in a future update or not is anyone's guess but if consumer demand has any bearing on what gets included in updates this would be top of the list.

Creating Hyperlink for Flash Movie

I have just created a flash movie. I have inserted the flash
into dreamweaver and when somebody clicks on the movie I want it to

How do i keep itunes from creating a folder for each movie that I add to my library?

When I add a movie to my library, iTunes 10 creates a SubFolder to the iTunes Movies folder, for each movie I add. The older iTunes just added the Files to the Movies folder, whithout creating subfolders for each movie.
Is there a setting so that i can make version 10 do this?

No, there is no custom setting for this. I wouldn't advise it, but if you really want you could downgrade to the older folder layout. However all your other folders will be arranged in the old layout too which may no be what you want.

You should have known this would be caused by some registry entries were modified incorrectly by some software, especially third party codec pack.

How to create presets for Keyframes in Adobe Premire Pro CC?

Dear Users,
I´m working on a Clip with more than one Video inside. I want to have one video in the back and the other Video on the right lower side (Picture in Picture).
Sometimes the right one should move to full screen and after a few seconds it should go back to the lower right again. This action
will be repeat many times in the complet movie, so I have to create keyframes for the movement (right to full screen / full screen to lower right).
All the time I have to copy the needed Keyframes and have to paste them on the new direction, but this needs many time.
So my question: Is it possible to make presets for the keyframe actions? Means, if I reach a position where I need the action
"right to full screen" I have to klick only one Preset Button and the keyframes will be added at this position!
Hope there is a possibility.

You can try the following work around with composition:-
1) Add a you tube video to the page.
2) Drag the video to the target of composition widget.
3) Resize the video to have the size of the target.
The triggers can have the images related to the videos so as to act as thumbnails for videos.

R12 upgrade data in XLA tables for old purchase orders

I see that we have XLA tables in R12 for accounting and that is where we
have all the accounting information and they act a bridge between GL tables
and PO tables.
My question is what happens to old PO's that were created in 11i?
When we upgrade to R12 will the upgrade process create records
for old PO's in XLA tables?
