Creating barcode

Hi gurus
How to create system barcode and printer barcode,I tried in  se72,But there is no creating option,Can any one give the solution
thanks
vivek

If you have already decided which device type you want to tie your bar code then you can ignore point# 1 and proceed with point#2.
1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say <XXXX> -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
2) Go to se73 --> select printer Bar code radio button --> click change --> double click on the device type <XXXX>
Click create button on tool bar ( prceed by populating all options in the pop-up)
Close the thread once your question is answered.

  • Create barcode labels in the background, immediately creating the MIGO

    Dear all
I'm interested to create barcode labels in the background, immediately after creating the MIGO.
    1. Is there any standard program that I can integrate my code that sends data to SMARTFORM?
    2. Is there a BAPI that gets, in the background, the data created in MIGO? Without knowing the number of document?
    3. Is it possible to print the barcode labels as print the document? But another special printer?
    4. What program and routine form I write transaction M706?
I'd appriciate to get some help.
    Thank you.

You can create an output record to generate labels immediately after a MIGO transaction has posted. Your ABAP team can copy the standard program and may be able to use the same routine that is curretnly asssigned to output type WE01, WE02, or WE03 (for Receipts), or WA01 - WA03 (for Issues). You can also identify a smart-form label in the processing routine for the movement type in config. because the output record is created automatically <B>after</B> the MIGO is posted, and contains all of the MIGO data, including material doc number.
<B><I>SPRO path:</B> Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Output Determination
    - Maintain Output Types
    - Maintain Output Determination Procedures</I><BR>
You can also have that output print to a specific printer via <B><I>SPRO path:</B> Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Printer Determination</I>

    Hi ,
While creating new system barcode form existing barcode, system will ask for create with new technology or create with old technology, in that case you have to select new technology and specify barcode terminology as EAN13. then specify other parameters like modular height and width as per your requirement.
first define style for smartform and then use this system barcode in character format. Again by using this character format, you can able to print element whatever you want in smartform.
Also before printing this newly developed barcode, please confirm with basis that you use correct printer which is already barcode configured.
    Hope this works for you.........
    Thanks..........

  • How to create barcode in Smart Forms with MS Word as Editor?

    Hi,
I created a character format for a barcode in a smart style.
The problem is that I do not know how to assign it to the text in Smart Form because the Editor is MS Word and not the normal Editor.
    Any suggestion or idea.
    Thanks & best regards
    Viktoria

Hi and thanks for the fast reply,
I have created a smartstyle and also a characterformat for the barcode. This is not the problem.
I call the layout via HRFORMS. The Form Builder for Smart Forms is called and the Editor for the text nodes is preset and is the MS Word editor. This cannot be changed. I tried different things also in the settings. The normal text editor cannot be called.
I choose and enter the field that I want to convert into the barcode &wa_barcode&. I do not work with standard texts (SO10). The text field is a normal text node in Smart Forms. The character format that applies converts the number in the variable field into the barcode.
In the MS word editor I have only formats that are in the office environment (arial, ...) I do not see the formats that I created in smartstyle also when I assign it in the output options of the text node.
So maybe I have to work like this for now. Swich between HRFORMS and SMARTFORMS when working with barcodes. In the Smart Forms transaction it is the normal editor where I can see the paragraph/ character formats from smartstyle.
    Thanks and best regards

  • How to create barcode in CR2008?

According to following introduction of CR2008, it support barcode.
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/reporting/crystalreports/featuresfunctions/index.epx
Built-in barcode support u2013 Save design time and reduce your cost. Generate barcodes with only a few clicks of the mouse by using the new 'turn to barcode' function in the context menu. Easily convert fields to Code39 barcodes without any coding or extra steps. And benefit from additional barcode fonts available from third-party vendors.
    But I don't know how to create a Code39 barcode in CR2008.
I cannot find any button or menu related with barcode creation.

    Hi
    Is this issue from CR designer? If so, please post to the Report Design [forum|SAP Crystal Reports;
Note: that if the issue exists in the CR designer, the issue will exist at runtime also and needs to be resolved in the designer 1st.

  • Creating barcodes with data merge

    Hi
I am encountering the following problem.
I have a list of barcodenumbers (only the numbercode) in Excell (OpenOffice) and want to import them into Indesign with datamerge.
After that I figured I would use a Code128 font to transfer the numbers into Code128 stripes , but the result is not OK.
The Code128 font gives not the correct stripes for the numbers, however it does it right for the letters (within the barcodenr. there are also 3 letters)
I found some discussions regarding this but not really an answer.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
Do I need to adjust something in the excell file?
Or is it just not possible?

    Hi Ben
I found this on the internet - it works for Excel - although you say you've used Open Office - not sure it will work on that...
    http://www.aspper.com/barcode-excel/code128.html
Probably best to generate the barcodes and then batch import them to InDesign.
Let me know if that helps.

  • I need to creat a barcode how do I go about this

I need to creat a barcode how do I go about this

You start by finding a (free or paid) barcode font
In my last job I had to create barcodes for an inventory scanner... I've been retired for 3 years so don't remember the name of the font I found, but once I had the font installed, I simply used Word to type whatever I wanted, and the barcode characters were printed for labels
I do "sort of" remember that the font I used was a 39 or "3 of 9" Truetype font

  • Solutions for creating and printing barcode for MII application

    Hi all,
We need some help on solution about barcode creating and printing for MII applications. Would be greatly appreciated for any suggestions about the best option.
Our client is running MII 12.x. They also use Crystal Report. They don't have a lot of SAP resources and hence don't want to create Barcode using SAP smart forms. The new application requires reports to be printed out with barcode attached to it. The following are some options that we have identified:
    1. Using Bartender software. MII will provide a XML file and feed to the software. The software can print out the content with the label.
    2. Create a customized action block to create and store barcode on the server. Using a HTML page to display all the content with the jpeg/png version of the barcode. Print out through IE.
Any other options will be good too. Thanks in advanced for your responses.
    Best regards,
    UMeng

    Thanks for the suggestion.
One concern I have is this package is developed for v12.0. According to SAP, these action blocks will work in 12.1 but not in 12.2. I've tried to install it on 12.2. The configuration dialog are not working properly.
Have anybody succefully implemented this package on 12.2?
    Best regards,
    Arnold

  • How can i display barcodes in scripts

    hi
experts can u help me for this

A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.
    http://www.servopack.de/Files/HB/ZPLcommands.pdf.
It will give an idea about barcode commands.

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program

Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
To create barcode go to transaction se73 Then System Bar codes.
There are some barcodes already present.
If they solve your purpose, use them otherwise create new ones.
The main characteristics of barcodes are
    1) Min. Char
    2)Max Char
    3)Width
    4)Height
Now in your sapscript create a character format.
There you can see an option to select barcode.
From there select the appropriate type.
Now use this character format for the field you want to display the barcode.

  • Is it possible to add a barcode image generator API on HTMLDB that support

    Hi All,
Currently we create Barcodes images using a Java solution - open source API called Barbeque.barcode.servlet. Is it possible to add a barcode image generator API on HTMLDB that support multiple formats?
    Our current process:
All jobs created in our system require a barcode which is then printed onto a cover sheet for each job (refer example). We also currently have individual barcodes printed on a single feed barcode printer for attaching to jobs sheets. We also print A4 sheets of barcodes with the Field Technican id number on that we sent out to them.
    Thanks in advacne
    Manoj

It certainly is possible to call Java from PL/SQL and so therefore from APEX.
The process is fairly well documented online and there's a well cited example of calling Apache FOP within these forums.
You may however need to do a little work to wrap your Java library using static methods in order to do this.
