  • Creating a new "Class type" in release procedure.

    Hi guys,
    how can I create a new <b>"Class type"</b> in release procedure?

    Hi,
    But I do not know why anyone would create a new batch type for release strategies, it is totally unnecessary and provides no additional options. The class type indicates which objects can be classified and there is already one for release strategies.
    You can create a new class or add characteristics to the existing class used in the release strategy anyway.
    Ther is also NO WAY that two classes can be used in the release strategy and this new class type would not change this either???

  • Creating a new class type in the classification system

    We are wanting to classify objects in a ZTABLE.  We have a home grown system for defining our customer requirements that is used as the way for the sales people to communicate to the engineering dept. what the customer wants.  A new need has come up that seems to be a good fit to be able to classify our customer requirements.  I have been trying to create a new class type that is linked to our ZTABLE.  However, even though it looks like we should be able to do this I have not been able to do it.  I ran across some documentation that seems to imply that adding a new class type used to be possible, but no longer is.
    Can anyone verify that creating a new class type is still possible to do?  We are on ECC 5.0.

    Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to create my own Class Type.  Is there some documentation as to how to dow this? Other than what is fould in SPRO I have tried and tried but no joy for me.
    This is what I have done so far:
    in SPRO:
    1) Created an Object Key for my table ZLO_CUSTREQ.  This table has a primary key of CRQNR (custormer requirements number which is I created)  The documentation says that I need to add this key field to structure RMCLY (I did that).  BUT, it also says the RMCLY is embeded in structure RMCLX and it is not.  Do I need to modify RMCLX to add RMCLY as an append structure?
    2) Went to Maintain Object types and Class types and selected my table. Double clicked on Class Types in the Dialog Structure tree, which displayed an empty list of class types.
    I then Clicked New Entries button and filled in the fields: Class type(Z10), Description(Customer Requirements), Table(ZLO_CUSTREQ).  in the Screens group I selected Keywords and Characteristics.  In the Functions group I selected: Standard class type and Multiple classifications. I then Clicked the back arrow.  This returned me to the Class Types list which now displayed my new class type.
    When I click the save button it kicks me out the the SPRO menu screen and I get the warning message "Class type Z10 does not have the classification status incomplete system" .
    Then, it won't let me re-enter the Maintain Object types and Class Types screen due to an error "View cluster is already open, go back with F3"
    When I hit F3 I am returned to the main SPRO screen.  After navigating back to the Maintain Object types and Class types I continue to get the View cluster already open error.  The only way I can get back to Maintain Object types and Class types  is to completely exit SPRO and start over.  When I do, class type Z10 is gone.
    I have repeated this procedure several times with always the same results.
    Can anyone please help me?

    I could use some quick help. In our 9i environment I used to type in dbca command to create a new database. Is there a similar option in 10G express.
    >No. You cannot create a XE database: it's created when installing XE and you cannot create another database with XE software on the same host.
    >>I can not seem to find a way to create a new database instance. I am guessing I will need to re-create my schema, and table structures under the one instance. Is that true?
    >Yes you need to create your schema in the existing XE database.

  • Create new Z-class type

    Hello,
    I will classify a completely new object (such as building construction, based on new Z-table) by using the SAP class system. For this I will create a <b>new class type</b> as well and <b>new classes</b> with <b>new attributes</b>; classes and can be created, but as for now I didn’t find any way to create an own class type.
    Is it possible to create a new class type (like Z01) to classify and evaluate the new object?
    Thanks for your hints.
    Regards,
    Kurt

    When I go in SPRO to Cross-Application Components>Classification System>Classes-->Maintain Object Types and Class types, I get an initial view at the object table level.  If I select a table and choose the Class types level, I get to a Change View "Class Types" Overview with a New Entries button.

  • WHICH CLASS type of 4GB microSDHC does 5610XM supp...

    1. Any microSD(T-Flash)more than 2GB is known as "microSDHC".
    2. A 4GB microSDHC has three(3)class types, which are Class 2, Class 4 and Class 6.
    3. 5610XM can support microSDHC upto 4GB.
    Seems that there is no mention in the manual regarding to the captioned. I wonder if class 4 or class 6 - 4GB T-Flash (microSDHC)will 5610XM support?
    My question is "WHICH CLASS type of 4GB microSDHC does 5610XM support?"
    Please give a hand~~ many thanks!

    What is Class Speed Rating?
    The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SD/SDHC, miniSD/miniSDHC, and microSD/microSDHC cards and the host products.
    The SD Speed Class Ratings specify a minimum sustained write speed for SDHC/miniSDHC/microSDHC cards (Class 2: 2 MB/s; Class 4: 4 MB/s; Class 6: 6 MB/s*).

    Sandisk SDHC cards will work with the 5610. It is unknown if cards larger than 4GB will work, as no one has mentioned it yet.

  • I dont understand creating classes they seem a waste of time and efficiency

    I dont understand why we would want to create classes with constructors and get and set statements... I know that VB and Java did not create these just to have us writing extra code so I am missing something in my thinking.
    I read about data hiding and that I understand I guess...but everytime my professors want me to create a class then create an object from that class to access it I dont really get it. I know how to do the basics of it but I can do all of it in my main or the primary class whats the benefit of creating a whole entire class such as the following?
    Everytime I get an assignment and they are like create a class and I try to rack my head for a good idea but the nearest analogy I can come up with is this... creating your own class seems like one of those old straws you drink out of with all the loops, yes you can make it go around in a big loop but why waste time? you want to get to point A to point B so create the most efficient way to get there if possible.
    I am sure the problem is I am not seeing something and there is some logic missing but I just am getting irritated as I am not seeing it and I am finding it, its like I add an extra obstacle course to my code for no other reason than to run through a bunch of extra tasks that I could perform in my main class or main.
    input is welcome to help me arrive at some type of enlightenment thanks
    Class may not be the correct wording for this as I know we have to have a class but what I mean is a non application class. The class I have below goes with another class that actually does a lot of stuff but I am forced to push data through this class that basically does nothing but run water through some different pipes if you will. To me thats a waste when I can do everything in my original class which was called menu that I am messing with and that creates an array for a user who wants to keep a list of his items and prices of those items in inventory.
    public class Item
    private String itemName;
    private double itemPrice;
              public Item()
    public Item (String item, double price)
    setName(item);
    setPrice(price);
    public String getName()
         return itemName;
    public void setName(String item)
         itemName = item;
    public double getPrice()
         return itemPrice;
    public void setPrice(double price)
         itemPrice= price;

    What I was plugging into it and please forgive the code as its not finished... (I am still messing with it) its just for learning and I am required to have certain parts in the Item Class and Certain parts in the Menu class..... But you it pushes through the input to the java bean.... in a case like this I just dont see the need for doing it not that I can think of anyway.
    import java.util.Scanner;//my imports for scanner so can read from the screen
    import java.util.*;//imports for my array I used astrix to just import it all as the book said it does not have any negative affects.
    public class Menu //My application class Menu that contains my main
         public static void main(String[] args)//Main method
              final int NUMBER_Of_Elements = 30; //created a symbolic constant so that I only have to change the constant
              //to edit the size of the array if I should want to change it.
              Item[]inventory = new Item[NUMBER_Of_Elements];//I create a new array object with the constant as the number of elements.
              Scanner sc = new Scanner (System.in);//created object from the scanner class used to get input from the console screen.
              System.out.println("Please enter Item on first line and price on second line.");//outputted text to prompt user and give instructions.
              System.out.println("Enter STOP to exit");//instructions on how to exit the program. I would have rather used a different
              //word than stop here. If my choice I would have used "exit" as its more widely used and to promote uniformity.
              int count;//count variable used to count my loops very important as we use it to control our arrays and loops here.
              double price;//our variable that we plug in values from the user via the console.
              String item;//same as previously mentioned for the "price"
                        System.out.println("Wings Coffee Shop Menu");
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.println("Menu Item Price");
              for (count=0; count<inventory.length; ++count)//This is our for loop it uses the length method to control how many times
              //it runs. In this case inventory.length = 30 elements so would run 30 times unless it stopped early.
                   item = sc.nextLine();//reads the input from console into the item variable.
                   if(item.equalsIgnoreCase("STOP"))//if statement that states if = stop (ignores case sensitivity) then it will break out of the loop.
                   break;//the break command which is executed if the if statement is true.
                   price = Double.parseDouble(sc.nextLine());//
                   inventory[count]= new Item(item, price);
                   Item Call = new Item(item, price);
                   System.out.printf("%-13s %.2f\n", Call.getName(), Call.getPrice());
              System.out.println("Wings Coffee Shop Menu");
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.println("Menu Item Price");
    //           for(int x = 0; x < count; ++x)
    //           System.out.printf("%15s\n",inventory[x].toString());
    //                System.out.printf("%-13s %.2f\n", Call.getName(), Call.getPrice());
    //           String[] namesOfItems = {"Coffee", "Milk", "Soda", "Bagel", "Croissant", "Donut"};
    //           double[] prices = {3.99, 2.99, 2.49, 2.99, 2.49, 1.99};
    //           for(int x = 0; x < prices.length; ++x)
    //           System.out.printf("%-13s %.2f\n", namesOfItems[x], prices[x]);
    //           Item arrayPrice = new Item(); HOW COME I CANNOT CREATE THIS OBJECT?
    //           Item call = new Item ();
    //           Item Call = new Item("item", 4.9);

  • Determine class type of Generic Parameter (not via getGenericSuperclass()!)

    I need to know the class type of a generic Parameter. Please imagine this class:
    class MyGenericClass<T>
    }In cases where other classes derived from MyClass and defined the generic parameter (like MyDerivedClass extends MyGenericClass<String>),
    this snippets works just fine:
    (Class<T>) ((ParameterizedType) getClass().getGenericSuperclass()).getActualTypeArguments()[0];But now I have no inheritance but the definition of the type parameter via instantiation:
    MyGenericClass<String> entity = new MyGenericClass<String>();The method "getGenericSuperclass()" does not suit my needs because it does not target the actual class. Nor can "getTypeParameters() " help me...
    After countless trying to retrieved the type information, I still have no clue how to determine for that case that (in my example) the type parameter
    is a 'String'.
    Does anyone know the solution?

    Serethos_0 wrote:
    Sure I could pass the class type itself as parameter to be stored in 'exportClassType'. But I only tried to adapt the idea used e.g. in Generic DAOs
    as descibed here: [http://community.jboss.org/wiki/GenericDataAccessObjects]. The big difference is, that in the Generic DAO example the typed
    information is available within the class definition ..
    Besides that I am open for any other suggestion!I would recommend passing around the Class object as you say.
    Some might suggest that you make MyGenericClass abstract, forcing any instantiation to be like this:
    MyGenericClass<String> entity = new MyGenericClass<String>() {};That would indeed cause the String type parameter to be available at runtime, since you're creating an anonymous inner class. But it leads to a convoluted and extremely statically expensive instantiation pattern. Using the class object is a better solution IMO.

    I have checked the following customization "SPRO --> Cross Application component -->Classification system --> Class --> Maintain Object type and class,
    Here select the MARA table click on the object and check class type 023 is assigned or not."
    Class type 023 is not assigned there. When i try to add a new entry I get the following error message

  • Object dependency doesn't work for class type 001.

    Dear All,
    I would like to use classification for picking up material.
    I set up a class with class type 001 and assign to material.
    When I use mm03 to search the material with class, the object dependency in the characterist doesn't work.
    Does the object dependency work for the class type 001?
    The example is as below.
    If the characteristic CH_CAR = '01', then the characteristic CH_COLOR can show Red and Write.
    If the characteristic CH_CAR = '02', then the characteristic CH_COLOR can show Black and Blue.
    I wrote a depency precondition for this scenior, but it does't work.
    If I change the class to type 300 and attached to a configurable material, then when I create a sales order and configure the material, and the dependency did work.
    Does the object depency only support the class type 300?

    you can have object dependency in characterisitcs attached to material class. In this thread underneath the class is 001
    Length & Width is not converted in classivication view
    you may not be able to find objects using dependencies used in classification

  • Is it possible to maintain two class type for a material

    Dear All,
    Is it possible to maintain two different class type for a material.
    If a material assigned with the batch and the material is a part of variant configuration, then how to handle this scenario.
    For Batch Management, class type will be 023, for Variant Configuration class type will be 200.
    How to handle this scenario.
    Please explain.
    Regards,
    Mullairaja
    Edited by: MullaiRaja on Jan 5, 2011 5:19 AM

    Mr.Raja
    As far as my knowledge, it does NOT make sense to assign a material to more than one class type.
    We can assign many classes to  a single class type of  a material.
    For configurable material, create the material using material type : KMAT.
    & then, activate the 'batch management" control in the material master, for that material.
    Pls revert with feedback.
    Hope, that helps you.

  • IN MATERIAL MASTER RECORD WHAT IS THE USE OF CLASS TYPE(CLASSIFICATION VIEW

    Hi Guys,
    Can you please explain what are the different critiria to use different class type and what exactly meaning of the each class type with respect to Material classification.
    Any material available on this to study. Please give link.
    Thanks,
    Dhanu

    Hi,
    Purpose
    The classification system allows you to use characteristics to describe all types of objects, and to group similar objects in classes u2013 to classify objects, in other words, so that you can find them more easily later.
    You then use the classes to help you to find objects more easily, using the characteristics defined in them as search criteria. This ensures that you can find objects with similar or identical characteristics as quickly as possible.

    The classification system allows you to classify all types of object. First, you must define certain settings in Customizing for the classification system. For more information, see Customizing for the Classification System.
    SAP has predefined a number of object types (for example, materials, and equipment). The settings for these object types have already been defined in Customizing, so you can start to set up your classification system for these object types without defining further settings.
    Features
    Before you can use classification functions, you need to set up your classification system.
    The there are three steps to setting up a classification system:
    Defining the Properties of Objects
    You use characteristics to describe the properties of objects. You create characteristics centrally in the SAP R/3 System.
    See the SAP Library, Characteristics (CA-CL-CHR).
    Creating Classes
    You need classes to classify objects. These classes must be set up. During set up you must assign characteristics to the classes.
    Assigning Objects
    Once you have created the classes you require for classification, you can assign objects to these classes. You use the characteristics of the class to describe the objects you classify.
    This completes the data you require to use your classification system. You can then use your classification system to find objects that match the criteria you require.
    Once you have set up the classification system you can use it to find certain objects. To do this:
    Find a class in which objects are classified
    Find the object(s) you require in the class
    When you use classification to find objects, you use the characteristics as search criteria, and the system compares the values you enter with the values of the classified objects.

    Hi,
    The class type is a central concept in the classification system. The class type determines how classes are processed, and how objects can be classified and retrieved in these classes. In Customizing for Classification, you define the settings for a class type. You define class types for a specific object type, such as materials. You can then use classes of this class type to classify objects of this object type.
    When you first create a class, you must enter a class type for the class. Each class type is a closed system. There is no link between the different class types.
    he class type determines the following:
    Which object types you can assign to a class
    Which class maintenance functions you can process
    Whether you can classify objects in more than one class
    Which class statuses, organizational areas, and text types are supported in class maintenance functions
    Whether you can use engineering change management for classification
    Which filter functions you can use to restrict the search result
    All materials can be classified with class type 001. Class type 300 is for variant configuration the variants under a class item are called as variants and can be picked during sales order creation. Class type 200 is for classes that are used as class items in bills of material. You can classify the same materials separately in these class types.
    This is basically used to differentiate the BOM class items.
