Creating cluster over subnet, controller cant find cluster!

Hi,
Running a macbook pro running 10.6.5 with a subnet of mac mini's (all ppc) via a netgear gigabit switch.
Have set up the three minis to service only and in QAdministrator I can see them all together in the service browser.
However, with my mac book pro set to controller i cant see anything but my mac books cores in the service browser. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a fools errand? Any help greatly appreciated.

I believe it's part of the pro apps: FCS, Logic, Shake, etc.
What I'm suggesting is leaving the minis alone. Removing QM from the MacBook Pro, and then using the same disc that you used to install QM on the minis to reinstall QM on the MacBook Pro. That may entail pulling more off than QM, like the whole prokit module. FCS Maintenance pack is good at pulling off selected sections.
Conversely, you could just try updating the minis with a later copy of QM. It's been noted that the later versions apparently work on PPC machines. However, the installer baulks and sees that PPC and refuses to continue the installation. Someone listed a workaround here very recently. And you could try doing a migration to the other machines. That might pull along the parts you need.

    Dear All,
When i create G/L Account Centrally i can no t find "Field Status group" as the picture showed. Before i do this, i have already defined the field status groupd and assign this to the company code J610. However i can not find "Field Status group" in Tcode FS00.
Please help me on this! Very appreciated!

    Hi,
Please check as per steps given below :
    1. Go to transaction code OBD4
    2. Double Click on Account Group
    3. Double Click on Document Entry
Check whether Field status group is Suppress.

  • Can you cluster two nodes from subnet A with the cluster itself residing in subnet B?

We have a situation in a cloud deployment where the servers are automatically provisioned through a cloud portal with IP addressed from subnet A. Because we require static IP for clustering, the static IP can only be provisioned from subnet B for
use by the cluster.  Is it possible to create a cluster from the two nodes in subnet A from a cluster IP in subnet B?  I cannot find any mention of this particular network configuration for a Windows cluster.  We are using the cluster to support
SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn Availability Groups.

    Hi Sir,
    >>the servers are automatically provisioned through a cloud portal with IP addressed from subnet A.
Did you try to create a new VM then give it an static IP from subnet B then check if the VM can be accessed from outside ?

  • Could not find cluster

I have one type of file that fails out in a weird way when attempting to transcode to h.264. Sometimes. Occasionally we get this error in Search All Jobs...
ERROR: E_REQ_ERROR  Encountered error using Compressor:  Could not find cluster "Render Cluster".
I know it's not very imaginative, but our cluster is named Render Cluster.
Node 1 is the controller and a compressor.
Nodes 2, 3 and 4 are compressors only.
All files transcode well. Usual source codec are DV25 (NTSC and PAL), DVCProHD, ProRes 422 LT, h.264, MPEG-4 and MPEG-2. The one file that sometimes gives us that weird error about not being able to find the Compressor cluster is
    AVC Coding, 640 x 480, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
We have the AVC component on the FCSvr server, as well as each of the Compressor nodes. Restarting the nodes hasn't helped. Restarting the FCSvr server hasn't helped. Some files are just cursed.
The files that transcode successfully have the exact same properties as the ones that won't transcode. The files that won't find their way to the compressor cluster consistently fail out. It's not a "sometime this file works and sometimes it doesn't" situation.
The strangest part of this problem is that other files before and after will successfully transcode.
    Thank you.
    -Cory

    Hello Akhtar,
Have you tryed to delete the heador row from your file?
I received the same error when loading a csv file, but when I delete the heador row it worked.

  • Can I create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent?

Can I create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml file ?
Can a cache be distributed in these deffirent nodes?

Yes. You can create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml files as long as you use the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file. But you cannot store the cache data in the different nodes (started with different cache-config file). In other word, a node only create caches in their own's modes which are started with the same cache-config.xml file.
    See the following demo:
I start a cache server using the cache config file examples-cache-server.xml. Then I start a storage-disabled cache console (cache client) using the cache config file coherence-cache-config.xml. Both of them using the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file.
The cache server uses a cache service PartitionedPofCache. But the client side is using the Distributedcache service. The cluster address is same 224.3.5.2.
The cluster name is also samme. They know each other.

I have yosemite on my macbook

Your Boot Camp Assistant is prompting you to remove Windows 7 or later version. If on your mac there is already a Boot Camp partition then you need to remove it first and then start the process again.
If you have Windows 7 on it, you might try to upgrade to windows 8: Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions about installing Windows 8 - Apple Support
There is also one more thing... Your Mac model has a built-in SuperDrive. I might be wrong but the option to create a bootable usb drive from Windows ISO file might be only available for 2012 models of Macs without a SuperDrive. In that case, you might have to Burn your Windows ISO and install it from DVD.

  • Cluster over-committed with 50+GB of RAM Remaining?

I have 2 2-node Hyper-V R2 clusters.  When I add a guest with 4GB of RAM, I get an over-committed status in VMM 2008 R2 even though there is 50GB of RAM left on one node and 60GB on the other node.  If I reduce the RAM to 2 GB the clusters are
no longer over-committed.  The behavior is the same on both nodes.  These guests are all test, not connected to any virtual switch and running no workloads. Just an OS sitting there doing nothing.  There are 20 of them, but the host
Ratings seem to be very low and available resources seem to be very high to get any over-committed status.  Have you seen anything like this?  I suspect that the resource that is overloaded is RAM, but are there any details scripts that will tell
me exactly what resource is causing the over-committed status?  I have R1 clusters with production workloads and using much more RAM that have a higher rating and are not over-committed.
    Thanks.

The issue that you’ve outlined sounds like the cluster nodes are already at maximum capacity before you add the new guest with 4GB RAM.
Based on the host reserves, VMM calculate the available resources and then will use the “over-committed” status.
    We have a great
TechNet article outlining this status and why it occurs.
    HAVM Placement and “Over-committed” Status
When placing a highly available virtual machine, the placement process in VMM calculates whether adding a new virtual machine to a host cluster will over-commit the
cluster based on the cluster reserve configured for the host cluster in VMM. The
cluster reserve specifies the number of node failures a cluster must be able to sustain while still supporting all virtual machines that are currently deployed on the clustered hosts. If a host cluster cannot withstand the specified number of node
failures and still keep all of the virtual machines running, the cluster is placed in an Over-committed state, and the hosts are not available for placement. An administrator can override this and place an HAVM on a host in an over-committed cluster during
manual placement. Cluster reserves are a unique feature of VMM.
For example, if you specify a node failure reserve of 2 for an 8-node cluster, the rule is applied in the following ways:
If all 8 nodes of the cluster are functioning, the host cluster is marked Overcommitted if any combination of 6 nodes (8-2) in the cluster lacks the capacity to accommodate
    existing virtual machines.
If only 5 nodes in the cluster are functioning, the cluster is marked Overcommitted if any combination of 3 (5-2) nodes in the cluster lacks the capacity to accommodate existing
    virtual machines.
VMM’s cluster refresher updates the host cluster’s Over-committed status after each of the following events:
A change in the cluster reserve value
The failure or removal of nodes from the host cluster
The addition of nodes to the host cluster
The discovery of new virtual machines on nodes in the host cluster
The cluster reserve is set on the
General tab of the host cluster properties. For a procedure, see
How to View and Modify the Properties of a Host Cluster (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=162986).

I cant find a way to get my password for my itunes account because i misstyped my ID (MY EMAIL)  when i created it

Is this a second hand phone and it came to you with app installed on it?  If that is the case all apps are linked to the ID that was used to download them and can only be updated with that ID.  If you do not know the passowrd for that ID and you do not wan tthe apps then delete them.  If you want them then download them again with your ID

  • Cluster Over WAN Test

We are planning to put a subscriber across WAN.We have enough bandwidth (6MB) bewteen sites and we followed all the SRND recommendations(especially QOS) for Cluster over WAN.
I used extended ping with type 3 (as in SRND) to test the RTT from a switch at remote site to publisher CM and it came less then 40 ms.
Is there any other test we can do so we can test the RTT and bandwidth is enough for ICCS traffic.
    Thanks for the help
    Bala

you could put a good load of data on the wire across the wan, see if you can get 3-4mb (or whatever your maximum is) and then test your pings.
use the results added to the number of phones (BHCA) and see what the numbers 'should' look like.
be sure to use the bandwidth calculator if you haven't already. try for many or all different codecs.
see the bandwidth calculator at the following link: (requires cco account)

    Hi,
Where are your agents situated in respect of the CCX and CUCM servers? Agents authenticate via CUCM or AD if AD authentication is enabled on CUCM have you confirmed that these are also reachable from the location in question? Have you verified serviceability on the secondary node to ensure the ccm engine and desktop services are running and in-service?
    Regards

  • I created a new Screen Name and I cant find out how to ....

I created a new Screen Name and I cant find out how to send my buddy list from my old screen name to my new one. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME, BECAUSE I CANT TALK WITH MY FRIENDS!

    Hi Scott,
Welcome to the Apple Discussion Pages.
    Use the Address Book.
iChat and the Address Book are linked. If you have stored Real names in the iChat info about your contacts they shuould be in the Address Book. You can then drag them back to to the new Buddy list.
The AIM application allows you to backup the Buddy list of one account/screen name and then import it into the new one as another workaround.

  • How do you get the screensaver that takes your iPhoto pictures and make one big picture? Used to have it on 10.6.8 but cant find it

Used to have it on 10.6.8 but cant find it. It took all the pics from iPhoto I think then made a pic out of them as a screen. Help?

Ah, welcome to my world...the world of progressive vs interlaced, RGB vs YUV, compression/decompression,10 bit or 8 bit, 4:4:4 vs 4:0:1 vs 4:1:2, color space (etc, etc, etc..!)
There's HD, DV, HDV, NTSC, PAL and more - its a place where acronyms roam free and multiply daily.
You're in for a fascinating journey that will soon have you understanding things you never dreamt you'd need to know, then when you think you've got to grips with 'em, you'll discover you don't really know the first thing about them...!
Fortunately you've got Bogie, Patrick, Shane, David and more to take you along for the ride.
I will suggest (and probably be corrected) that what you're seeing is probably interlaced footage on your progressive monitor. (You mentioned you're watching the DVD on your computer.) Your TV has far fewer lines of resolution than your computer monitor, so FCP works within those constrictions. Also your TV runs at 29.97 frames a second, which is actually 60 frames a second as each frame is divided into two fields, which comb together to for one frame. These combs are very much evident when watching a DVD on a computer. Even high budget Hollywood films have this problem, especially when the camera or subject is moving. There is no way around this if you're outputting on DVD or NTSC.
You could create an Progressive file, which won't do this on your monitor, but thats a whole other ball of wax...
Welcome though. Its all good. (And the people on this site are very helpful, I've learnt a lot over the last 5 years by simply reading these posts.)
