Creating CRM Widgets on Desktop (r15)

Anyone using CRM OnDemand widgets on desktop? I can get CRM message centre / fave list widget on to iGoogle. I have google desktop to capture the CRM widget on to desktop. I'm following a document sent out by Bob.
I'm having problem with page 6 on the document. When you select Options from the drop down on google desktop gadget I cannot see the window form pop up as shown in page 7. Instead i'm taken to a web page.
Any advice?

The file that Bob sends references Oracle servers. I have just rewritten his document to a generic use as you are not the first person to have this problem. If you send me an email to alex.neill@{see profile} I'll send you a copy. This will tell you how to add the Widgets to iGoogle, the retrieve the URL and then add it as a widget.

The error file looks to be telling you that there is something wrong with the zip library.

I have already found the Apple Widget Builder (http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/) and that works fine if you want to link to the "App Store", but I want to know if there is a way to "open an app" that is already installed on the iPad instead of double tapping the home button to switch between apps. (I know using the home button is very simple, but I am trying to find an even easier way to just "tap a widget" or "link" that will open iTunes U right up) I am only asking if this is possible for people who may have a hard time running an iPad at the beginning.

I appreciate your help, but I had already looked at LinkMaker and I thought that was my answer, but as far as I could tell that still only links to an app in the app store. Yes it will link to iTunes U in the app store and you can then hit Open, but that is too drawn out of a process. We would like to know a way to just open the app directly.

ADF Faces: !-- ERROR: could not create stylesheet for oracle-desktop.xss

I'm using ADF Faces EA6. Sometimes when I create the EAR, it doesn't include the file "oracle-desktop-ea6-ie-6-windows.css" which muest be present in the "adf/styles/cache" directory. If I check the source code from the browser, it starts like this:

If everything is set up properly the css will get generated if it doesn't exist. You do not have to be running in the IDE for the css to be correctly generated. Running the app first is generating the css before you deploy, so you've taken away the symptom but not solved the problem. If you try running on another browser, for example, you'll probably run into the same problem.
Does your ear get unzipped when you deploy? Do you have a writable file system for the css to get written to? There is a known issue with WebLogic where it doesn't expand the EAR.
Please check to see if there are errors in the logs.

Is it possible to create a custom, linking desktop background?

Hey everyone. I have a computer running Windows 7 connected to my TV as a media center. Since I only use the computer to run the internet or Plex Media Center, I'm trying to create a clean looking desktop with large links to each program and nothing else.
I've tried increasing the size of the default shortcut links, and that works to a point, but I would like something with a little more customization. I realize that Active Desktop is gone with 7, so if anyone has any idea of a way to make this possible, please
let me know.

The two areas on the right that are bordered in lighter blue would be the links (the entire rectangles), with the rest just being a plain image background.
Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to install third-party software as needed, providing it isn't resource hungry.

Widgets to Desktop

How do I move widgets to the Desktop?

You can get Widgets on the desktop by starting Developper mode if you are willing to use the terminal.
see Instructions below.

Complete Details (tested on 10.6.6)
1) Open the "Terminal" app *don't worry it's easy* (Applications > Utilities > Terminal) and write (or cut and paste) this line of text, beside the existing where the small grey cursor is.
defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES
Then push enter ... and close the "Terminal" app
2) Now Restart the Dock (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor > double click "Dock" > click "Quit" > click "Force Quit") the Dock will automatically restart ... (Or just restart your Mac if that's easier for you)
3) Open the dashboard (tap F4), click on a widget and HOLD DOWN the mouse button then move it slightly and keep HOLDING DOWN the mouse button. Now push the F4 key again a this widget will stay behind, drag it a new location as it will be "Always on Top" ... thats it!
4) Now to get rid of the widget from your desktop, click and HOLD DOWN the mouse button on the widget you want removed, tap F4 to bring up the dashboard. The release the mouse button Tap F4 again and it's gone.
5) At this point however the discarded widgets exist as zombies in a kind of no mans land. When you look at the dashboard, the discarded widgets will be shown faded or greyed out, they are not on the dash board but neither are they on the desktop, but it's an easy fix.
6) To bring them back to life you need to tap F4 to open the dash board ...now click once on the black PLUS SIGN sign way on the bottom left of your screen (it will change to an "X" and your screen will fade and raise up) and another "X" will appear on the widgets ... Just click the "X"'s on any faded widgets and they will now be back to normal, ready to be used again.
The only real disadvantage of this procedure besides the items being "Always on Top" is it uses the same amount of resources as if the Dashboard is fully activated (check you activity monitor).

Adding Dashboard widgets to Desktop & Keeping it "Sticky"

Hi,
I know there are many posts out there on part of this topic.
I am aware on how to add widgets from Dashboard to the Desktop.
However, I haven't figured out how to ensure that the newly added widget does not overlay itself on the application I am using and that it continues to be in the background on the desktop.
I just want to be able to hit Command + F3 and see my desktop along with the widgets right there.

when i uesd explorer i could right click on the mouse and hit create short cut to desktop and now it only brings up bookmark when i right click

Creating dynamic widgets

We have a question on how to create something similar to a dynamic arrayfield
without mapping to an array.
We would like the similar behavior of an HTML table with ability to add rows
and columns with values.
We have looked at using ActiveX but are not happy with the way Forte interacts
with these widgets, so we are looking for a Tool
solution. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I've been trying for a while to get the ArrayField working, but it seems to
be designed for mapping onto objects that exist at runtime. Dynamic
adjustment of the number of colums in the ArrayField just doesn't seem to
work. So far the only solution i've found is creating a GridField and
filling it with DataFields. You'd have to add you're own code for the
scrollbar and implement the scrolling. As far as i've found out there is no
other usable Tool solution. I can't give you any examples cause this is
where i stopped looking into it. Good luck.

I like to creat shortcuts on my desktop for daily site visits. I used to be able to select it from my mouse cursur but cannot do it now why?

If I will be visiting a site on regular basis when I used to hit the right part of my mouse where Back,Reload,Bookmark etc was shown there also was a "Create A Shortcut on Desktop" option. It is not there any longer and want to know how can I get that back?
I do NOT care for the Bookmark or Save feature.

My guess is that they recently changed how the videos work. I logged in on my MacBook and the stream worked fine, but it is Flash content in a JW Player video player. From what I see on the website. This video player works with html5 as well as Flash so I'm not sure why it isn't working, unless the site has not updated the content for html5 and is only using Flash right now. But you should get the message on the iPad that the content is in Flash and can't be viewed on the iPad.
I tried it with three different browsers identifying as mobile and as desktop browsers and I get the same results as you no matter what I do. So my assumption is that the site content was recently changed and it has to be updated. But that is just a guess.
The message about the website having issues when I used iCab Mobile and identified as a desktop browser. The issue has to be on their end.

Creating a Widget with Xcode

Does anyone know of a website that shows an easy way of creating a widget with Xcode? Like even if they have you build a test widget so i get the idea of how to do it? I'm completly new to programing so i would love to learn how.

Xcode is not really meant for building widgets. Widgets are built primarily with html, css and javascript. You can code them by hand or you can get a copy of the recently released "Dashcode" beta.
Dashcode is a development tool specifically for building widgets. It is supposed to be released along with Leopard but Apple recently released a beta that's supposed to run in Tiger (I haven't tried it yet). If you've signed up for a free online developer account at Apple Developer Connection you can logon and download the beta.

PS - by the way, if you go to Apple Developer Connection and do a search for "widget" you'll get some hits on Dashboard tutorials and programming guides (these are not geared toward "Dashcode" and should be useful even if you're handcoding your widget)

Creating CRM 7.0 Activity from ISU SAP GUI (CIC0)

I need to create CRM 7 Activity from ISU SAP GUI cic0 screen using actiion box. Can any one please help me out what would be the best way calling CRM 7 activity from ISU SAP GUI, with my understanding the CRM 7 would not support sap gui and have to use webclient technology.
My scenario: Creating activity in CRM 7.0 from ISU GUI.
Existing process is creating an activity in CRM 4 from ISU SAP GUI, now business would like to move from CRM 4 to CRM 7. I need to find out or give suggestions to business what would be the best approach or solution to create CRM 7.0 activity from ISU point of as business would not like to use CRM WebClient screen to create activities. I need help on how i can suggest the busines.
Please help me out as i am new to ISU and hope you have understood my requirements.

SPRO > CRM > UI Framework > Technical Role Definition > Transaction Launcher > Configure Transaction Launcher
SPRO > CRM > Interaction Center WebClient > Basic Functions > Transaction Launcher > Configure Transaction Launcher (Wizard)
Kindly read help documentation next to it for details.

Hi Kang,
The attached pex contains a window class, which first adds a gridfield to the
window and then inserts 5 toggle fields into it. Clicks on the dynamically
created toggle fields are captured via the ChildClick event on the parent
gridfield.
The resulting window is not pretty (or even useful), but will, I hope,
provide you with some pointers.
At my site, we are working with version 3d. To my delight, I have found that
the widgets can be added to the window before it is opened. With previous
versions, the window had to be open prior to adding any widgets to it.
