Creating CustomerExit of standart iView

I need to create CustomerExit of standart iView.
In Properties iView wrote "List of customer exit IDs (separated by a comma) registered in the portal registry at '/com.sap.portal.appintegrator/customer_exits/parameter_provider'".
I had created Portal Application Project in Developer Studio how recommended karsten (see The customer exit of the Application Integrator).
After deployment I check the successful registration in the portal registry browser.
Custom provider is deployed, registered and refernced in the iView.
But at testing CustomerExit not take effect.
P.S. Property "Use_CustomerExit_ParameterProvider = 'true'" is set and restart.
NW releases 2004s.

We can create Iview only once and transport to the qa and prod. Yes, system objects should created for dev, qa and prod with dev, qa and prod respectiviely for Esourcing system.

If you are using 2004s, you can use the WebDynpro personalization tool.
-Open your Addresses iView in content administration.
-Click preview.
-Hold the control button and right click on an element.
-From this tool you will be able to find a link called 'Decorate'.
-There you will be able to add your text and choose the style you want.
If you are working with an older version of the business package then you will need to use NWDS to make the desired changes.

Problem while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView

Hi,
I am creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from iView Template.
The SAP Web Dynpro System Object is being created. The System Alias is also being created.
The Test Connection is successful with Portal Server.
Now, while creating SAP Web Dynpro iView from Template in Step 4:
I am not getting my System while an old system which is being deleted is being displayed.
Name of my System Object is: WD_System and System alias is: WD_Alias.
The Step name is:
Step 4: Application Parameter
Enter the paramater(s) of the application for which you want to create the iView

I am not getting the System Alias under:
User Administration-> User Mapping-> Logon Data(Select a Principal) (System Alias).
The System is successfully built under System Amininstration->System Configuration->System Landscape->Portal Content->kaushikb named WD_System and System Alias is named as: WebDynpro_alias.
The Test Connection is successful.
I am displaying the result below:

Test Details:
The test performs the following:
1. Checks the validity of the system ID in the system object.
2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
3. Checks if a SAP system is defined in the system object
4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.
7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. The system was retrieved.
3. The system object represents an SAP system
4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (kolapon:50000)
5. The host name kolapon was resolved successfully.
6. The server kolapon was pinged successfully.
7. The WAS ping service http://kolapon:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the WAS, you can try to call the ping service manually.
8. An HTTP/S connection to http://kolapon:50000 was obtained successfully.

Hi DS,
To create a transaction iview u need to create a system object first.It contains the details of the system u want to connect to from portal.In your case u need to give the details of your R/3 system in the system object.
To create system object goto SYSTEM ADMIN>SYSTEM CONFIG>SYSTEM LANDSCAPE>PORTAL CONTENT>JUST RIGHT CLICK ON UR FOLDER (SYSTEM FROM TEMPLATE)just select that and from the available templates select -->SAP SYSTEM USIN DEDICATED APPLICATION SERVER.just give the name for the system object.
Now goto the properties of the system object select the property CONNECTOR
and fill in the following fields:
APPLICATION HOST:
GATEWAY HOST:
GATEWAY SERVICE:
REMOTE HOST:
SAP CLIENT:
SYS ID:
SERVER PORT:
SYS TYPE:
save them and now select the property USER MANAGEMENT and fill the fields
AUTHENTICATION TICKET TYPE:sap logon ticket
LOGON METHOD:UDPW
USER MAPPING TYPE:ADMIN,USER
To make the sys object being identified by the portal we declare alias name in display select SYSTEM ALIASES give alias name and save.
Now goto user admin select the user to map the portal user to the sys object.
select the property USER MAPPING FOR SYSTEM ACCESS.
In that u coula find the list of available system aliases select your alias and give user id password.
goto content admin>portal content>folder> new iview>sap transaction iview>sap gui for windows>select ur alias name and give the transaction code.

Hi,
Its very easy.
Step1) Go to content admin -> pcd content -> Create a folder in pcd content.
In that folder create an iview. you will get so many iview templates -> select your desired template iview.
(If you still confused, search in the sdn for creating an iview in pcd content).
After creating that iview, open the same iview as object. check the quick link property. intially it will be blank. set the quick link property as iview1(as an example).
Step2) go to content admin->km content and to go to ur desired folder, say documents.
Create a folder abc and inthat create an external link iview1. give the url as /irj/portal/iview1.
Step3) create a KM Navigational iview(iview2) and open as object. set the property 'path to document' as /documents/abc.
Preview that iview2 . you will get an hyper link iview1. on clickink that iview1 details will display.
Search in the SDN for creating KM navigational iview or any other iview.

I mean i want to create a document iview that can be link to a url, but this is not a url iview.
In this case, i will create a document iview that show a .jpg file, and it will open a certain url if we clicked.

Creating SAP BW Report iview in Portal to access BW System

Hello Everybody ,
Iam creating an iview for publishin BW Reports in Enterprise Portal with the iview name SAP BW Report iview ,it asks for <b>BEx Web Application Query String</b> and <b>Application Parameters</b> and we are stuck over that.Do we need to create some standard templates for it and then connect them to reports .What should we enter under these parameters.Kindly revert back.
When we launch the SAPBWWebAppDesigner for template designing,an error message is displayed as mentioned below.Kindly please check that and the reason for its display.Do we need to make certain configurations for the Webapplication server for BW ,if any one has a document /guide available for that,kindly please revert back.
Error:
"You are logged on to an application server that does not support HTTP.Some of the Web Application Designer functions are therefore not available.Do you want to logon to a different application server?"
We are also not able to connect to the Web Application Server of BW directly by putting the url of the WAS into our browser.Are any extra configurations needed for that on the BW side for WEBAS.

Is it possible to create a pop-up Page or Iview?
Scenario: When i click on the workset link, the content or the iview should open on a pop-up window.

you can set property to open in a new window from property editor of iview.
I think opening in new window is what you expect? if you want to develop pop up windows,u can do using custom development.

Problem while attaching file to create service notification(IW51) iView

Hi,
We are using Create Service Notification (IW51) transaction iView (SAP GUI for HTML) in one of our portal workset.
Few users are facing issue while trying to attach file to the Service Notification. When they open the file dialogue to attach the file
it keeps on spinning and hangs, nothing proceeds further. Does anyone faced similar issue if so can you provide solution for this?

Check the users experiencing issues java runtime on their systems. The file system object uses the JRE. Also check that if the java runtime is up-to-date and of teh same version whose systems are working, that their browser security setting as well as trusted sites have been configured correctly.

Remove or Diable the Create Button in Calendar iview

Hi everyone,
This is in regards to the Calendar iView in collaboration room. I created a team room and added SAP Calendar in that.When I view it, I see the "Create Appointment" button which I would like to remove.
The users should not be able to create any appointments from there. I removed the following command groups(peopleGWAppLink) from Collaboratio properties. But this will remove the link "Create Appointment" from the collaboration launch pad but not within the calendar
What should I do so that I can achieve my requirement? Hope somebody can help me~~

Hi Chandra,
take a copy of your present Web template, and on the copy web template got to HTML code, ther secr hor SEND button code, delete that code and save it and run that tenplate with aquery and check SEND button is revoed from template, after that you can do the same for original template.

How to create pdf from reports iView in VC?

I have created a certain iView which presents a few BI reports in VC.
Is it possible to add to it a button or a link that by pressing on it will generate a pdf file with these reports so the client can download?

It can paste data into a microsoft word document. But the chart is not pasted. instead data in all components in the particular iview (including table data and chart data) is coiped into clipboard.
Only, the category axis, value axis and data series fields are copied and can be pasted into excel. May be you can use an excel macro to make the chart with the data.
Try another method
For the button, give system action "print" with parameter "print screen".
The whole screen is printed to printer including chart(correctly displayed). You can redirect the print to a file. But i have no idea, what is the format of the print. may be you can try some picture viewers or do a google search for that

Creating an Import Document iView

Hi, I´m trying to create an iview for batch document upload to the portal. At the moment, I've only been able to upload documents from a source directory in the server, given an xml file uploaded from the client, which indicates the location of these files.
I need help doing one of these two things:
1. creating an upload percentage status bar
or 2. accesing the client's directory to upload and insert the file into the repository one by one.
Can anyone help?
(by the way, I'm trying to to exactly what the portal epa import iview does, but with documents, so i know it's possible, i just don't know how)

"one by one" means, the client chooses a file, uploads this file (on the server side, it's then put into KM), then chooses the next etc pp?!
In this case, just use a HTMLB FileUpload control, see http://devnetmedia.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/htmlbManuals/fileupload_dev.html for details (if using HTMLB).
You could use a ProgressIndicator for the status bar, see http://devnetmedia.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/htmlbManuals/progressindicator_dev.html , but that would be quite tricky to achieve regular updates while uploading the file (you would need threading, URL isolated progress iView, and some good experience...). See for example ProgressIndicator... for some initial discussion. Remark: Valeries remark that threading isn't recommended in Web/J2EE development is completely untrue, for such a disucssion see ProgressIndicator...
If using WebDynpro, there are similar UI elements.

Creating a "welcome page" iView like "Tab Control"

Does anyone know the steps i would need to go through to create a similar iview to the
"content provided by sap" iview, "Tab Control" which can be found in :
content provided by sap->admin interfaces->admin iview templates->tab control.
Basically, i want a welcome page with a graphic and also twisty's like in this page.

Hi Samir,
We use Welcome pages a lot in our portal to provide an overview of different area's of portal content.
All our welcome pages are URL iViews. The HTML content for these pages sits on our Intranet server. We then create a URL iview that points to the appropriate HTML content.
In this way, your Welcome page can have any layout or content you want and is only limited by your HTML skills!
