Creating dashboards in BI

Hi All,
Could you please explain the step by step procedure for creating the dashboards using WAD?Is there any other way of creating dashboards in BI?Please share the documents if u have?

Yes as per Hemanth's reply its correct ......You can create Dashboards in BI using WAD. Youwill have to first craete a query in Designer and then use it to make a web template in WAD. This can be used as a part of dashboard.
Please find the below links to make WAD and also Visual composers to be used as a dash board.

OBIEE 11g - create dashboard with Answers Analyse and BI Publisher Repport

I have one question . I create dashboard in OBIEE 11g .In my dashboard have one analyse and one bip report .I create one prompt filter , that changes the both .But I wanted when i click in analysis and change it, this change is reflected in the Report . Is this possible?

I am talking about object permissions in the catalog (eg. Folder permissions..). This is in addition to the permissions for the data source.
You need to be able to view the folders from where you can select the analysis as a data source in the BI publisher report.
Here is an excerpt from the Guide:
For a role to access an object in the catalog, the role must be granted Read permissions on both the object and the folder in which the object resides. Permissions can be granted at the folder level and applied to all the objects and subfolders it contains, or applied to individual objects.
To grant catalog permissions to a role:
Navigate to the Catalog.
Locate the folder or object on which you wish to grant permissions and click More. From the menu, select Permissions. Alternatively, you can select the folder and click Permissions in the Tasks region.

I have some queries on the step by step which u have provided me,
1) Create all BEx Queries with required variants,tune them perfectly.
You mean to say that i have create a queries 1st? With required variants means i dint get u?
(2) Differentiate table queries and graph queries.
What is the diff b/n table queries and graph queries.?
(3) Choose the graph type required that meet your requirement.
Required graph i should select it from WAD?
(4) Draw the layout how the Dashboard page looks like.
How to and where to draw the layout ?
(5) Create a web template that has navigational block / selection information.
(6) Keep navigational block fields are common across the measures.
(7) Include the relevant web items into web template.
Pls explain me this
(8) Deploy the URL/Iview to users through portal/intranet.
This i can do it.

Hi All
I want to create dashboard in obiee with following theme:
At a top user can select product name or product group,according to selected product i should get product information,image.
If the page contains some KPIs like sales by region ,period then graph should reflect respective changes.
How can I do this?

First create a prompt and reports as per your requirement.Then create a dashboard by following the steps mentioned here,

Creating dashboard prompts at run time.

We have a requirement of creating dashboard prompts at runtime. Our scenario is as follows:
We would like to create trend charts with multiple trend lines. We are planning to use the Line Graph view to achieve this. However, the number of trend lines and the columns of a table to be used as trend lines will be input at run time. As an example, users will be prompted to enter the number of trend lines they wish to plot in the chart. Depending on the input, we need to dynamically create those number of prompts. The prompts will be a choice list of columns that can be used as trend lines. For the following table structure:
table: table1
column1: quantity
column2: quantity_accepted
column3: quantity_rejected
the dashboard prompt 'Select number of Trend Lines' will ask users for a number. Let's say the user enters 2. We need to dynamically create 2 prompts based on column1, column2 and column3.
Is there a way of implementing this requirement?

I think you need to look at the JAXB capabilities
Try using JAXB & JSTL to dynamically build your faces-config.xml
For Runtime Java bean Classes
IF you have an XML schema/DTD you can use JAXB to generate Java Bean Source code
Obviously you are going to have to build into your application the ability to invoke the JAXB & Java Compilers

Yes you can check the query result first in SAP BW Server first using RSRT -TCODE with your query name, where you can do complete debug and check the query result.
Create a query, drag and drop the dimensions and keyfigure in the window and click the preview window to check the query result at the bottom of the window.
Revert for any assistance.

ACS 5.3 Dashboard - Any way to create Dashboard for all users?

I'm at the point of setting up admin access for engineers needing to have insight into the operations and status of our ACS 5.3 systems.
I'm curious if there's any way to create a Dashboard that can be applied to all admin user accounts? (perhaps a custom role?)
I've been able to customize the dashboard for my own account to show what is most relevant, but am unable to figure out how to apply this layout and setup to all other users.
Basically, I have a number of folks that need to see this data, but that I can't exactly count on to setup their own dashboards to show the important details. If there were some way to build a tab/dashboard/portlet, etc (whatver it may be) and have it apply to all users, that would save me TONS of work so that I don't have to login to each person's account and set things up for them.
For example, I want to have all users see a tab/dashboard that shows the applet "Live Authentications", but with the protocol already configured to display TACACS vs the default which is RADIUS.
Any thoughts?

I see you are looking for read-only access to Dashboard. Currently there is no way to force all Admins to use same Dashboard and all admins will have full control of the Dashboard.

By default we have got in bulit sales Analysis , customer aging and service call reports, but what are the way to create our own dashboard reports. Hi,
To create your own dashboards you will need Xcelcius, with this you design your dashboard and can insert pretty much any query you need, you then add a Data Connection to retrieve the data from SAP Business One. Then you export it from Xcelcius as an .SWF file (Flash). Then, using the free SAP B1 Utilitiy Dashboard Packager you can then prepare it to be imported into SAP B1. You then import it, assign user permissions and Bobs your uncle.
I have very very much simplified it there, but there are plenty of examples on how to do this out there, happy to email you a couple if you wish, but you do need Xcelcius to create the dashboards to begin with.
Welcome to the small group that can design the dashboards (myself included) and welcome to all the headaches you are going to get with the B1 Integration Service and Event Sender disaster !

You are missing a number of required keys in your plist. See the section titled The Info.plist File on Apple's "Developing Dashboard Widgets" page.

How to create dashboard through CSOM to show workflow from external lists

We have following requirement.
SharePoint 2013 standard edition environment is installed. SO no BI site template is possible.
Development has to be through CSOM only.
Vendor data is stored in external database in SQL server 2012.
There are number of workflow running for external lists.
Now the question is how can we create a dashboard through CSOM to show status of various workflows? How to develop through CSOM?

here requirement is totally different as CSOM and ext database, workflow and dash board together. actual answer is different.

Creating Dashboards in Development

Hi,
I've been developing a WAD Graphical Dashboard in our Production Environment. Now we are implementing Change Control and I need to start doing my development in the Development Environment instead. Our source data comes from BI Queries.
I see it as almost impossible to develop a Dashboard in my DEV Box becauset here is very little data in development! There will be lots of data in our QA Box, but that doesn't get around the fact that I'm forced to develop 1st in DEV and then send it to QA for testing.
What is the best way to get around this problem? Just tell them it's impossible?
What does everyone else do when creating graphical web applications?

Hi Ken,
It sometimes does get irritating esp. when doing graphs and there is no data in the Dev system. Some workarounds that I use, like if the query needs to pull data for previous 2 months (and obviously Dev will not have this data), I will change the variable in the query and do a fixed restriction by 2 months where there is data, so that I can get my chart properly done. Then I will reset the query with the original variable. Or if you have the change access in Production, simply make all changes there, copy these to the web template in Dev and transport for consistency.
