Creating dimension in OMB script with only 1 level and no hierarchy
Hi all,
I have created some dimensions in the OWB client, that map straight 1-on-1 to a table. Those dimensions have only 1 level 'TOTAL' and no hierarchies.
I am trying to create those dimensions using an OMB script, but it seems that when I bind the dimension level to a table, it =expects= me also to bind hierarchy levels to the table! However I have (dont want/need) a hierarchy?!
The error message is:
OMB00001: Encountered DIMENSION_KEY at line: 1, column: 2309. Was expecting one of: <EOF>
The OMB code I have is:
IMPLEMENTED BY SYSTEM STAR \
DIMENSION_KEY BOUND TO COLUMN 'DIM_CAUSE_KEY' \
LEVEL 'TOTAL' BOUND TO TABLE 'DIM_CAUSE' \
LEVEL_ATTRIBUTE 'DIM_CAUSE_KEY' OF LEVEL 'TOTAL' BOUND TO COLUMN 'DIM_CAUSE_KEY' \
LEVEL_ATTRIBUTE ...
LEVEL_ATTRIBUTE ...
After the LEVEL_ATTRIBUTEs the statement ends, so I say nothing about any hierarchies.
If anybody could give me a hint, that would be much appreciated!!
Ed
It is finally solved...
The keyword "SYSTEM" in "IMPLEMENTED BY SYSTEM STAR" shoudn't be there...
Unfortunately I was overlooking that in the oh-so-clear syntax diagram in the OWB API and Scripting Reference..... )-;
Let's move on.
Cheers,
Ed

ECO number with revision level and release key
Hi All,
I have a requirement from client with regards to Engineering change manangement.
The scenario is that we are maintaining BOM for materials.Whenever a change is required for BOM a ECO number is created with release key.
Once the BOM is changed against ECO number is created a workflow is triggered for approval.
Then it goes through a series of approvals in the heirarchy. In each level the reviewer will propose a new value for the changed line item.
All these changes have to be maintained in record. At the end the final approver reviews all the proposed changes and release the ECO number with the appropriate change.
I had a thought of implementing the above scenario with ECO with revision level and release key.
But I am unable to replicate the scenario due the fact that, when I select the ECO number with release key,I cannot select the material in Object type.
Its disabled. Its available when I create a ECR with release key.
Please suggest a way to create ECO number with release key and revision level for BOM.
Regards
RichieHi,
You create the revision level against the material (via MM02, basic data tab)) not against the serial. The serial number, by definition, would be unique to the combination of material and revision.

My macbook pro has a virus/trojan that is resetting the EFI via apci and it is getting root access privileges. It seems to be creating multiple aliases that bundle with rogue apps and preferences so it is very difficult to control or fix. Please help..It all stems from the "about donwloads" PDF which kicks off the restructuring of the OS..
Well given the fact that it is not just myself who is infected and also that this is my 3rd macbook in 1 year because the other 2 efi's were compromised to the point where they were unusable, and also that I must've been to the mac store no less than 100 times in a year for these issues, I beg to differ. Here is what I can show you. This has been ongoing for over a year now.
I will try and show you as much as I can.
1) Here is what I see when I run mount from terminal:
/dev/disk0s2 on / (hfs, local, journaled)
devfs on /dev (devfs, local, nobrowse)
map -hosts on /net (autofs, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse)
map auto_home on /home (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
localhost:/4zOta2Q9FMiMnRjTROIbhU on /Volumes/MobileBackups (mtmfs, nosuid, read-only, nobrowse)
Why on earth is /Volumes/MobildBackups my localhost is beyond me. I don't use iCloud and Mobile me is obsolete.
2) Here is what I show when I run ls -al /*/*/*/*.efi from root
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 994464 May 1 00:33 /System/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 994464 Oct 2 2012 /usr/standalone/i386/boot.efi
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 115716 Dec 13 14:08 /usr/standalone/i386/tmbootpicker.efi
As far as I know my boot.efi should not change everytime I boot my machine.
3) Here is something very interesting. When I run cd /dev followed by ls -al look what I have;

HT2494 How do I output video to a projector from my MacPro17 with only firewire and USB ports?
How do I output video to a projector from my MacPro17 with only firewire and USB ports?
No Mac Pro only has Firewire and USB. Perhaps you've misidentified the computer:
http://www.everymac.com/ should help. -
Sometimes a web page appears with only text and no picures. It is not always the same site and does not always happen. If I switch to Explorer for the same web site it always works
Thank you, it worked with just F5. I don't know whether CTRL + F5 would work because the problem has not come back yet!

OMB script to remove DBLink and Schema configuration from mapping
In OWB903 we have used prefixes for most of our tables used in mappings. (By right clicking on the mapping, choosing configure and then setting the Schema/DB Link for each table under "Sources and Targets")
We are now in the process of upgrading to OWB 904, and because of the way OWB 904 handles locations we would like to remove the prefixes from the mapping configurations. Our project consists of 100+ mappings, so it would be nice if it was possible to do this by runing a OMB script.
I would appreciate it very much if anybody can come up with an example of how to do this.Roald,
Here is an example of a OMB script that renames all the tables in a project (to run a script, you have to open the OMBPlus application and enter 'source <filename>' on the prompt, where filename is the name of the file containing the script):
# rename.tcl
# Renames the names of tables, mappings, cubes and dimension for a project.
# Prefixes the names with 'WH_'
# Please update the connection information here.
# The connect string format is repository_user/repository_pwd@hostname:port:service_name
# Connecting to the repository:
OMBCONNECT owb904/owb904@localhost:1521:ora9201
puts "Connected to repository."
# Setting the project and prefix variables (set project name here):
set MProject MY_PROJECT
set wh WH_
#Open the project
# Entering into the Project (CC = Changing Context):
OMBCC '$MProject'
set module_list [OMBLIST ORACLE_MODULES]
# Loop to enter into each project module:
foreach i in {$module_list}{
puts "Working on module: $module_list ."
OMBCC '$module_list'
set table_list [OMBLIST TABLES]
# Loop to prefix the name of each table in the current module:
foreach j in {$table_list}{
puts " Working on table: $table_list ."
OMBALTER TABLE '$j'
RENAME TO '$wh$j'
puts "Done."
# Saving the changes:
OMBCOMMIT
# Disconnecting from the repository:
OMBDISCONNECT
As you know, OMBPlus is based on the TCL scripting language. For more info on TCL, take a look at:

Also, for more info on the OWB specific commands, take a look at the Users guide.

Creating Link to New Window with Defined Size and Cursor Change
Hello,
I seem to be having a problem having a hot-spot link open a new window and perform the way I want it to. I have tried a few different ways of going about this, as described below:
The first method when defining the hot spot was to use the properties menu provided at the bottom of Dreamweaver when I click on the hot spot. When I test the page, the cursor changes to a hand and I can open the link in a new window BUT I cannot define the width and height of the new window.
The second method was after defining the hot spot, using the behaviors menu from the tag inspector. From here, I would add an Open Browser Window behavior using the onClick event. Here, I can open the new window in a pre-defined width and height BUT when I test the page, the cursor does not change to a hand. It just remains the standard arrow.
The question is, how I can define the hot spot to where the mouse will change to a hand when I scroll over it AND when the window opens, it is set to the width and height I want to define?
Thanks,
Smartin1007Good Morning Gentlemen,
I tried placing the cursor script into the code without success. Either I'm not applying it correctly or it could be that the code in use is a combination of html and Java scripting.
Right now, I converted all of the image maps to the behaviors technique because I need the specific window sizes for the application that is being created. Steve, I am using DW CS4, and a sample of the code is provided below:
map name="Map"
area shape="rect" coords="19,466,56,503" alt="Stage Hydrograph - North Fork Licking River at Mt. Olivet, KY" onClick="MM_openBrWindow('StageHydrograph/MtOlivet.html','','width=915,height=665')"
/map
Note that there is no href reference, because I haven't found a suitable way of having an href reference with target=_blank to where I can define the new window size.
I really appreciate the advice and time that is being taken to help solve this problem. -
Create image server operating system with Hyper-V and virtual machines
Friends,
Need to replicate the environment they currently have, but wanted to optimize this operation by creating an image of windows server with Hyper-V and virtual servers already installed, what tool do I use? Can someone guide ???
DreyherI recommend you separate the task of protecting the host from the task of protecting the guest VMs.
By "replicate the environment", do you mean backup the VMs in a recoverable state? or do you intend on migrating the VMs to another environment like another physical location? How much down time can you tolerate if any?
To backup the VMs use a VSS based backup solution. There's plenty out there, including Windows Server backup, Altaro, DPM, Veeam, and many more. This does not require installing agent on any of the VMs, and will not down the VMs during backup. Here's an
example Powershell script to backup all VMs on the local host:
Install-WindowsFeature -Name Windows-Server-Backup
$BackupTarget = "\\server\share"
$WbTarget = New-WBBackupTarget -NetworkPath $BackupTarget
$WBPolicy = New-WBPolicy
Add-WBBackupTarget -Policy $WBPolicy -Target $WbTarget
Add-WBVirtualMachine -Policy $WBPolicy -VirtualMachine (Get-WBVirtualMachine) # Add all VMs on localhost
Start-WBBackup -Policy $WBPolicy -Async
If the intent is VM migration from one location to another, there are plenty of tools to do so with minimal or no down time. Just bing it..

DB Copy (MSSQL) between two SAP systems with different level and Components
Hi,
we have a SAP system release mysap 2004 SR1 and for "the upgrade project to SAP ECC 6.0 " we installed a new mysap 2004 in a new hardware (sap03) where we have also solution manager running. The new installed Mysap 2004 SR1 is alos running fine in the new hardware.
Now we would like to do DB copy from the old system (sap02) to the the new system sap03 and then we will do the upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
After I compared the two systems I have following questions:
1) there are 4 Software Components which are not in the new system (sap03). This are:
PI
FIN_BLERP
BP_INSTRASS
Is this necesary for the DB copy or we do not need this to be able to do the DB copy?
2) The Software Components Level is not the same. Should we have the same level to do the DB Copy?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
HanseAtikHi Juan, hi Clas,
just to be clear and to not stuck on the the way:
The systems are as follow:
1) the source system:
- Windows Server 2003,
- MSSQL Server 2005 with 32 bit.
- Mysap 2004 SR1
2) Target system:
- Windows Server 2003
- MSSQL Server 2005, with 64 bit.
- Mysap 2004 SR1 (with less Support package level and no PI, FIN_Basis, BP_BLERP and BP_INTASS coponents)
I hope this will work. could you post the link the DB Copy guide we are talking about?
By this way we will be sure that we are talking about the same DB Copy. Otherwise any mistake in this step will cost more work and time.
Thanks in advance
Best regards
HanseAtik -
2 Different SAP systems one with only WM and other no WM system
Hi All,
We are having trouble to implement 2 different SAP systems. In one SAP system only MM & IM will be there. The other SAP system only WM system will be there.
In the SAP system with only MM / IM system all the materials will be valuated where as the SAP system with only WM system, there won't be any valuations. It just serves as a 3PL warehouse for the first SAP system which has only IM environment. Both are acting as a different companies.
We planned to interface all the PO, Inbound Deliveries and also the Sales order and deliveries to WM SAP system and develop a custom program to do PGR / PGI in WM system and then transmit the PGR / PGI details to the SAP system (which has only MM / IM environment). The WM system also uses the RF guns. But not so sure whether this can help.
Can you please help me how to configure the WM system. I will be very grateful for your help.
Regards,
VanshHello,
there is a standard SAP solution: [Decentralized Warehouse Management (LE-IDW) |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/51/803c35975f0054e10000009b38f839/content.htm]

Create previews of video clips with multiple thumbnail and export in html?
Hi all!
I am trying to make a list of the videos that i have shot with my digital camera....my 1Tb is almost full, so you can understand that is not that easy as looking into a folder with the big thumbnails
this is the expectation: to find an app that can
-create a preview of each video (qt, mov, m4v, wmv, avi, rm, etc)
-create few frames that shows the content of the video
-export the list of movies as web page, with the title of the video and the snapshot for each of them
Do you know if there is any way to achieve this result, without making manually everything?
I've found a software on pc, that i can use with parallels, but it takes just 1 shot of the video, and not multiple, with the result that is hard to get what is in the video, especially when the video is 10-15 min long, and the name doesn't help to recall what was happening in that video
Is there a way to achieve these results with just the apps available on the OS or is there an external sofware to do that?
thanks!This is how i resolved:
I use a software called screen grabber, that reads video files and makes a sheet with previews
then i use thumbsplus on parallels to load these sheets and create an html page with the sheets and thumbnails.
Takes some time, is kinda cumbersome, but this gives me nice html pages with previews taht ar clickable (so you can see the full size sheet with the video preview).
Maybe someone else will stumble on the same problem that i had and find something better than my solution -
Creating a Simple Flash Movie With Poster Frame and Play/Pause Buttons
Hi, It's been over a year since I played with Flash last, and
I have completely forgotten everything I learned.
I have a .flv file which I want to play on my website. It
should display a poster frame when the page load, and not autoplay
the movie. It should have the play button I made in photoshop
sitting on top of the poster frame. When pressed, the movie should
start playing and the button should be shifted for the pause button
I made in PS (it should work just like the play/pause button in
iTunes). When the movie has finished playing, it should jump back
to the poster frame.
I have tried using the flvplayback component and also played
around with just embedding the flv directly and inserting a play
and pause button from the common library, but I can't seem to get
it to work. With the flvplayback component I have managed most of
it apart from using my own buttons and getting the poster frame to
work (which apparently has to be done with Action script).
Any help appreciated.Which version of Flash/actionscript are you using? Since you
are just starting out, you should read one of Adobe's tutorials on
the matter. Either use Flash Help to find examples on how to use
Flash or go to their website. Here is a great tutorial for someone
just starting out. Make sure you read all three tutorials in "Using
Flash for the first time".

How to open with only level-one bookmarks showing
I know how to set my initial view so the Bookmarks pane is open. However, is there a way to set the level of bookmarks that are shown? I have created my PDF by merging a lot of smaller files, many of which were created from MS Word, so there are many levels of bookmarks and it's overwhelming for a user to see all of it when the document first opens.
In Acrobat close the levels of bookmarks and save the document with File > Save As
