Creating DVD labels

Are there any templates available for Pages for creating DVD labels? If not, can someone recommend some DVD labeling software (preferably free)?
Thanks!

There are several options for templates you can use in Pages. First, there those submitted by other users & available at iWork Community. Three possibilities for Word templates are Microsoft, Neato & Fellowes

You can create the design for a DVD label in Create>More Options. Once you have the label set up, you would copy it to a template for the labels you plan to use. (The PSE template makes one label, while most printed labels are two-up.)

  • Options for creating DVD labels?

Can anyone educate a fairly tech-savvy but first-timer on iDVD/iMovie on the options for creating/printing labels for DVDs? (by 'labels' I'm referring to the paper or plastic that's stuck to the ouside of the disk identifying it).
Is this functionality built in? Ideally you'd be able to print a label similar to the opening menu scene.
Do paper labels create problems for a spinning disk, and if so what's best?
    Thanks much,
    Neil

iMovie HD 6 allows the user much greater control of adding multiple audio tracks to a movie or editing the existing audio track. This screenshot shows using multiple audio tracks for a slideshow.

Several features were removed from iMovie 7 which caused a hue and cry from users. So Apple has made V6 available to iLife 08 users. Both versions can exist together on your Mac and be used separately if so desired.

  • Good DVD Labeling Tips

I am in need of good software to create DVD labels, particularily DVD Case Inserts. I love using Photoshop but haven't been able to find any templates. What do people use to design great DVD Case Inserts? Is there a label brand/template that works with Photoshop? Thanks in advance.
    Craig

Yes it does. It seems that once we get it printing it works fine. Getting it there sometimes is a headache. I complained a lot to Epson, they have been very good, sent them to the service guy he fixed them, had another problem and they are replacing the printer. I complained to the list here and some of the readers did the math and said hey, you just printed 1000 dvds on 2 60 dollar printers, it really isn't that bad even if you do have to replace them.
Is there a difference in the hardware on the r340?

  • Create CD/DVD labels.

Could someone please explain to me how you create CD/DVD labels in PSE3. I really need your help! Also if anyone is aware about how to make a DVD case cover that would be helpful also! Thank you SOO Much!!

    Alex,
    1. Enhance your image in Photoshop Elements for subsequent import
    2. Go to;
    http://www.neato.com/
In the column on the left, under software & templates, you will
find appropriate templates for download. They can be used in
Elements and in Word. The last time I purchased the labels there
was a CD with the templates in the package, but perhaps they don't
    provide this any longer.

  • Recommendations for creating dvd case inserts?

Hello! As far as I can tell, iDVD 6 has no feature for creating dvd case covers/inserts.
I'd appreciate recommendations for inexpensive or free software for making such covers.
    Thanks!
    David

You're welcome, David. I'm not familiar with all the Sharpie product line, but the common one that marks anywhere uses a fairly harsh solvent, and in theory could eat through to the reflective coating of the DVD. I found a Memorex product at Fry's Electronics named, "CD Marker." It is labeled non-toxic, water-based.
Personally, I've not had any problems with the sticky labels (I've used Memorex and CD Stomper labels for a few years) but there are some strong feelings opposed to their use (and I can imagine a problem could come up in 10-15 years). You can do a search in these forums; an alternative is printing directly onto the DVD if you have the right printer and disks.

  • What software do I use to make cd/dvd labels?

I enjoyed using iDVD to put together a slideshow for an 80th birthday party.  Now I want to share the slideshow on dvd's, but what software should I use to make dvd labels and jewel case covers?

I agree 100% with Klaus1. You don't want to use stick on labels. If you have an Epson R series printer you can print directly to discs with it.
For printing on discs or making case inserts/covers one application that I like is Discus.  Here are some of the designs I've created and used with it:

  • PSE7 and CD/DVD Labels

I upgraded from PSE5 a while back and appear to have lost some of my printing functionality.
In PSE5, selected the photo (in this case a project - a CD/DVD label created in PSE5) I wanted to print, and then was able to select "Labels" in the "Select Type of Print" in the Print Photos screen.  I'd select the template to print, select "print multiple photos" (of the same thing) and I could then print two labels on one page - matching the label paper I've purchased.
In PSE7, "Labels" is no longer in the "Select Type Of Print" pulldown.  If I try and print the same project, it wants to place it in the middle of the page.  If I select "Print Multiple Photo's" it places two of them on the page, but not centered correctly.  Very Frustrating!
Anyone have ideas on how I get "Labels" in the "Select Type Of Print" pulldown in PSE7?  Help!
    Thank You!

The labels option is no longer present in PSE7. I think this feature has been removed from PSE7.

  • Custom CD/DVD labels

Is it possible to create a custom CD/DVD labels with this program? If so, how?
    Thanks

    I am in version 11.
Where do I choose the Avery label that I want to use?
It does appear to be quite robust in terms of what you can do with the program. I am trying to learn it so that I can teach it to someone else. I have downloaded a trial version, which is helping greatly.
    Your help is most appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Is there a way to create DVD chapters in iDVD?

Is there a way to create DVD chapters in iDVD? I don't see any options for it in iDVD. Also, I don't want to have to import all the footage back into imovie. Thanks

So, what if iDVD 7.1.2  doesn't recognize the chapters from iMovie 10.0.5?
Apple has removed the ability to create chapters in iMovie 10
I use iMovie 06 to do this. It works perfectly with Mavericks, as does iDVD.  You can purchase iMovie on disk as part of iLife 06, readily available on Amazon and eBay.
It's quite shocking that another feature has been removed from the once mighty iMovie.

Hi there Jim, aka @jknud , welcome to the forums
I understand you're looking to print CD/DVD labels to your Officejet 6500 Wireless, from your Mac.
There are normally third party software programs you can download to print out whichever brand of labels you are trying to print on. If you wish to let me know which type of labels you are using, I will see if I can find their support forums for you.

  • Good Software for DVD Labels?

I had to replace my hard drive and therefore lost 3rd party apps I had installed. Now that I have the chance, can someone recommend a good DVD Label software? I used expressit before, and it seemed very basic and quirky. It seems to be the only thing obvious and available in stores like Staples, etc. Any other ideas? Anything I can download for free online?

The reported damage is both from the adhesive melting and the imbalance when the label is not placed correctly. Some people have had DVD disks getting stuck inside players because the adhesive loosened. Others complain of stuttering and playback problems....problems that do not show up if the same project is burned to a DVD disk without a stick-on label.
If anyone has used the stick-ons and is not having problems, all I can say is wait....sometimes the poor playback will not be apparent for some time, and then it starts ruining your disk.
I don't use any stick-ons. I think the very first DVD I made, using the first versions of iMovie and iDVD, did have a stick-on label, and the disks were ok after about 5 years. However, I reburned to Verbatim's archival gold disks, and wrote carefully on the disk with a CD/DVD marker. (I don't have a printer that can print to disks).
