Creating email ads in dreamweaver

Hi, This may be quite asimple question but I am pretty new to
Dreamweaver. I am looking to create a email advert campaign. I know
how to create the page in DW but I have know I idea how to publish
it and send out the mails with links etc.
Does anyone have any tips or know of any tutorials available
for this? (working on mac, firefox or safari)

Depends on what kind of account you have. I have a "pay as
you go"
account, where I pay per email. Doesn't matter how many
subscribers
are on a given list, or how many lists I send to, or how many
times I
send to a list. Price is per email sent.

Unable to Create New RecordSet in Dreamweaver 8

I'm new to databases. I'm trying to create a RecordSet using
Dreamweaver 8. When I go to the Bindings panel and click the "+"
sign and choose RecordSet, I name the RecordSet, I choose a
connection, but there are no tables and the setup dialog box needs
me to choose a table to create a RecordSet.
The problem is when I try to create a dynamic table, I get an
error stating that a cannot create the table without first creating
a RecordSet. Worse, I cannot create a RecordSet without first
creating a table. I'm stuck! How do I create the two if one cannot
exist without the other?

First of all .. what server model? what database are you
using?
There are tables and there are tables. The "tables" you
should see when
creating a recordset are database tables. If you don't see
them in the
recordset window .. what is your connection string? Or is
this a DSN?
the "dynamic table" on the other hand is a table on your page
created from
the recordset and is not the same thing as the tables you see
from your
database. I wanted to make sure you knew the difference.

Creating a subdirectory in Dreamweaver MX

I am trying to create a subdirectory in Dreamweaver MX that
would house images for one of my clients to view. I have a web site
and was trying to link the folder of images to a page in my web
site. Does anyone know how to do this?

right click on your root folder, select "new folder". Name as
"images".
Save your images here.

How can I stop my Firefox browser from preventing Click Earner, a program that opens email ads on safelists, from opening the URL's in the email ads?

Hello fellow-users of Mozilla Firefox,
I send email ads using 20 different safelists every day. To get credits for sending those ads I click email ads sent by other subscribers.
Since early this year I've been using Click Earner -- http://www.clickearner.net/ -- to help speed up this task. Click Earner "fetched"
the emails from each safelist and opened each URL advertised in each email. This was a very quick job and all I did was close each tab
displaying the URL. Credits for clicking the URL were added to my safelists accounts.
Since a week ago, without me doing anything at all, my Click Earner stopped opening the emails automatically as was the case for
several months since I started using it. Click Earner support claimed Firefox prevented the program from opening the URL in a new tab each time it fetched an email ad. True enough, yesterday when I watched Click Earner in action I saw a pop-up from Firefox saying something like "Firefox prevented..." I couldn't read the rest as the pop-up disappeared immediately. And that was the only
time I saw it.
Right now I have to open each URL manually to see the ad and earn credits. This is a very slow process, just the same as when I open the emails in my gmail account. It's useless for me to subscribe to Click Earner. And it takes forever for me to earn credits from all the safelists.
I'd appreciate it very much if any one of you folks would help me overcome this glitch. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you very much in anticipation.

You could try turning off Firefox's pop-up blocker.
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
There you will find a checkbox for "Block pop-up windows". Assuming it's checked, uncheck it.
Does that return to the behavior you want?

How do I create a webpage in Dreamweaver WITHOUT using layers?

I'm reading a lot about how we should not use layers and
tables when creating a website in Dreamweaver because of something
called "absolute placement" (or something), which is the reason the
text in my website is constantly misaligned or overlapping when
opened up in Firefox. Although, I've never had this problem before
for the past three years I've been using Dreamweaver to create my
sites, which is what's most frustrating I think.
So, I guess I'm wondering how, then, do I create a webpage in
Dreamweaver WITHOUT using layers and tables? The only thing I've
been able to do w/o layers/tables is to literally hit "enter" and
"tab" continuously until the cursor is somewhere close to where I
want it to be on the page. But that seems a little old-school (for
lack of a better term) to really be the way to do it.
Also, if I've used a lot of layers/tables already in my
website, is the general recommendation for be to rebuild my site
completely w/o layers/tables, or is it feasible for me to have
someone who knows HTML just come in and fix the actual HTML code
for me to make it all work?
Ideally, I just want something to help me fix this problem
w/o having to hire someone else to come in, cause I've been working
this site for about a year now and am just now finally getting it
up online only to find that the way it looks online is not the way
it looks in Dreamweaver. I'd really really appreciate any
suggestions/advice.

Hello,
The first bit of advice, which you may already be doing, it
to learn HTML
and CSS.
CSS is used to style and position elements.
Instead of adding numerous to add spacing, for
example, you can use
CSS to add margins or padding to elements to move them away
from other
elements.
Also, IMHO there is nothing wrong with using tables,
specially as you learn.
You can also use <divs> and CSS to position them (a
table-less layout).
There are a number of threads in this forum comparing them
and giving many
designer's views.
It's Dreamweaver's "Layout Mode" you should stay away
from.Use "Standard
Mode"
It creates tables with rowspanss and colspans that are very
fragile.
Something as simple as a user having a different text size
setting in their
browser than what you had in yours when you designed can make
the page break
apart.

Also, "Layers" are an older DW term for AP Divs (Absolutely
Positioned).
They can cause you a lot of frustration.

I would strongly suggest you take a couple of hours to do

They are a great introduction to using CSS, making a
stylesheet and using
DW's "wizards".
They are very well written, illustrated and easy to follow.

They are not intended to replace learning HTML or CSS in any
way, I just
think it will benefit you greatly seeing what you can do.

I have to agree with David, if you are new to DW, then creating a guest book will be difficult for you. However, you don't have to re-invent the wheel, there are many guestbook scripts available to save you the time and certainly the headaches :-)

I want to create email page but the email process type within Apex seems to be having some limitation i want to have multiple receivers/recipients, attachments etc. What is the best and most preferred approach? i searched "Application Express Builder User Guide" talking about customizing APEX_MAIL but explanation is not detailed enough,

any help...thanks.Where did you come across about that limitation? There is no such limitation in built-in send email process and you can send it to multiple recipients with multiple attachments.
When you are creating the send email page process please click on labels to get more help and this is what it says:
- To field
Valid email address to which the email will be sent.
For multiple email addresses, use a comma-separated list. Use substitution syntax if you want to use a dynamic value.
Examples
    [email protected], [email protected]
    John Doe <[email protected]>, Jane Doe <[email protected]>
    &P6_TO.- Attachment SQL field
SQL statement which returns one or more BLOBs which get attached as files to the e-mail.
The SQL statement has to be in the following format:
select blob_column, file_name, mime_type from table
The column mime_type is optional.Alternatively you can also create a pls/sql process manually to do the same invoking the APEX_MAIL API

Dreamweaver is not a click and drag application. You need to build a layout with HTML and CSS code. Or start your project with one of the pre-built CSS Layouts in DW. Go to File > New > Blank Page > HTML. Choose a layout from the 3rd panel and hit CREATE button.
Then use the insert button to add an image to your layout. That said, you must resize and optimize images for the web beforehand using your graphics program (Photoshop). Otherwise, your images will be way too big.

Using the default application - Microsoft Outlook, the form's data is placed into an XML attachment and an email is created for review and transmission.

Sending the same form via the Webmail feature. Acrobat first provided the Yahoo account name and password handshake screen, and then I authorized Acrobat to use my Yahoo account. The form provided a status bar that indicated the email was being created and the attachment being added to the email; however, no email was ever created (and placed in my draft folder) and no email was sent (checked there too.)
What I've Confirmed:

I've gone to my Yahoo account's "Manage Apps and Website Connections" and confirmed that Acrobat is permitted to create emails (among other things). I've tested the non-webmail (default) email. I've confirmed in my Acrobat Pro XI preferences that the email account is there.

Yes. However, if I receive that 500th back I have violated the License. Though I believe you need to go back and read it again It seems to say you can only send out 500 copies.
Either way would be breaking the intent of the license agreement.
WE have fought hard just to get this little change made (for benefit of very small Business or even non-profits). So we don't want to cause Adobe to pull this out of the next version because of misuse.

Attempting to create a rollover in Dreamweaver

Attempting to create a rollover in Dreamweaver but when doing so the only way it works is if you approach it from the bottom and not all around. Please see code below and please advise if this is correct or if there is something i may need to change.

More often than not, these kinds of symptoms are the result of partial masking of the rollover by an absolutely positioned element. Are you using absolute positioning on the page?
For sure, though, the only way someone can diagnose this accurately is to actually see the page and its underlying code. Can you post a link to the page, please?

If you're using Exchange 2000 you may be able to coax the LDAP interface to Active Directory into letting you add a new user (possible good place to start: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/netdir/adsi/creating_new_users_in_the_organizational_unit.asp).
If you're using MS Exchange Server 5.5 then you may be able to use the LDAP interface as well, but we've found it to not be as straightforward. Expect to need to write some JNI code to make native calls into the ADSI API.

I'd like to set up email accounts for my kids, but I'd like them to be part of my apple ID. I've been exploring apple, and I can see how to create a new email but not how to add additional email accounts to my apple ID. Any suggestions?

Each iCloud account/ID can only have a single iCloud email account. If you wanted to create additional iCloud email accounts, you would have to create additional iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs. A limitation to be aware of in this regard is that each iOS device can only create a maximum of three iCloud accounts. Given this, you may be better off creating email accounts with a different provider for them, such as Gmail.
