Creating external infotypes or external relationships

Hi,
Is it possible to use RH_INSERT_INFTY to maintain external infotypes and relationships? If yes, then anything need to be taken care of.

There are certain external relationships maintained in 1001 infotype. Also there are some external infotypes in the group of PD infotypes.
My question is using the function module 'RH_INSERT_INFTY' is it possible to create either external relationships (i.e. 1001 infotype) or external infotypes? It seems that external infotypes cannot be maintained using any personnel planning update function modules. But I wanted expert opinion on this.

EEO information in Create External Application -- E-Recuitment

My customer want to include EEO questionnaire in the Create External Application service. How is the EEO data saved, in which infotype or table. WIll the EEO information that is entered , can it be tracked in EEO reporting?
I would also like to know, how other customers use this service to collect EEO information. My customer are not willing for an activity.

Request Questionnaire and Request EEO Questionnaire are standard activity types, but if you dont want to create seperate activity types, you can create a questionnnaire and addign it to directly to the requisition or add it to the process template which will then be available for any applicant in the application wizard when trying to apply against the job posting.

Error while creating external table

Hi i tried to create external table. The table is created but while selecting that table it is throwing below errors
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
KUP-04040: file Countries1.txt in EXT_TABLES not found
ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 19I've created temp directory in window under oracle directory " C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\temp"
In the temp directory i've a text file countries1.txt
the text file has the below information
ENG,England,English
SCO,Scotland,English
IRE,Ireland,English
WAL,Wales,WelshI've connected to system user and created one directory and granted the read and write permissions to user SCOTT.

You are missing something. Most probably the file does not exists in your specified path. This is working in my 10.2.0.3

Error while Creating External definition with WSDL file

Hi ALL,
I need to create a External defination with a WSDL file in PI 7.1.so i selected the Option WSDL & From all available message defination while creating External defination & imported the WSDL file.
I am getting an error

Hi Tony,
Somehow I solved this issue. I dont remember what exactly I did, as it was sometime back in December. I think I used the Wizard initially to do the configurations in Solution Manager and again i tried to do the same manually as the earlier one threw some errors.
It seems the wizard proceeded half-way through and hence the entry was made in the database already and hence that error.

With no details of how you configured the XML server, what were the parameters used in the configuration for using external database, etc, I dont know how much can someone help you.
This is an Oracle error, so a few things that could be problematic with your "big" xml -
1.) An element name could be of length > 30 characters (Oracle table name length limit is 30)
2.) There are some special characters in the element name
3.) Element name begins with a Number
4.) Element name is an Oracle reserved word.
This list can go on.

Create External document (URL) in SAP Personas

Hi Smart People!
To save some steps and incorporate a scanner I am working on creating buttons to "Attach Documents" in different areas such as MM03, FB03, and a few others where we have to keep a scanned in document attached to certain other Materials or Payables and such. All docs are scanned in and saved online and then we use the "create external document (url) menu option to link it where it is needed in SAP.
In one place it works just fine and in the others it is not working at all and custom button or even just following the already existing menu options it keeps giving me this error. I tried search on the SCN and Google and no such luck on this error. Anyone have any ideas? See pic below and also the text below is the separated error so you can see what it actually says.

That screen shot is for the Silverlight browser plugin.
You can check your Personas version and patch level in System -> Status. Clicking on the magnifying glass in the SAP System Data box will list all the components of the ERP system. It will tell you what Personas version and SP is installed.
Something like this:
The above means Personas 2.0 SP2.
If you indeed happen to have Personas 2.0 with no support package (so SP level says 0000), then the first thing I'd recommend is to bring the system to the latest level, which would be like in the screen shot, and then trying again. There is a good chance the problem will be resolved.
If your system is completely up-to-date and it still gives you trouble, then create an OSS incident.

positions ,jobs , Org units
Path:IMG->Personnel Mgmt->OM->Basic Setting->Maintain Number ranges.
IMG go to Personnel Management -> Organizational Management -> Basic Settings
-> Maintain Number Ranges.
Select subgroup $$O to maintain number range for Org Unit and click on Number range Maintenance. Then click on change Intervals. Now you can create both internal and external number range for Org Unit according to your requirement.
Similarly for Position select subgroup $$S and follow the same process.

I have tried it through the transaction SHDB i.e. Transaction Recorder also herein the 'Services for object' does not appear.     We are having a requirement to create web link for materials using transactions MM03 or MM02.
    The exact path for this is as follows:
    Go to MM03/MM02 -> Enter material ->Basic data view -> Systems Menu -> Services for object -> Create external document URL.Here we need to enter the title and URL.
    The other path is clicking on the services for objects button that comes on the title bar and create the same.
    Is there any BAPI that can be used to achieve this.

Hi All,
I need to create external document(URL) for equipment and functional location. Manually it is done by clicking a button (called Services for Object) which appears in the left upper corner (on the left side of the transaction heading) and then selecting option (Create External Document URL). Infact this button is availaible in many transactions.
I need FM/BAPI using which i can create external document(URL) to equipment and functional location programmaticaly.

You will need to use function BINARY_RELATION_CREATE for this.
Check how is it handled in function SGOS_URL_CREATE_DIALOG. Also check code in PAI of screen 2400 (subroutine create_url_doc). You will need to use that code.

Hello,
I have this requirement:
Maintenance people would like to relate a document on our portal on a work order to be able to print it with the work order.
My suggestion was to use Services for Object in the Order -> Create external document (url).
But the adress field cannot contain more than 132 characters.
I have URL longer than 132 chars:
eg: http://server.domain:port/irj/go/km/docs/documents/AAI/Gestion%20documentaire/Public/Entretien/Instructions%20de%20travail/EU-IT-01-02.pdf
What do you suggest me?

Thank you Pete but we are release 700 and this note applies to release 620 and older. I will try to find another note or another way.
In the meantime we use the short-ID of SAP Portal Documents which are long to retrieve but always under 132 char.
