I need some advice & How tos on creating a General hierarchy with MCK1 and extracting those into BW.
Is there any other better way to create General hierarhy in R3 and extracting into BW

Question : How can we extract this product hierarchy into BI ?
Following Extractors required a Hierarchies: Name of the hierarchy to extractor the hierarchy.

I am trying to create a Standard Hierarchy for a new CO society, but the system asks for an Enterprise organization. The problem is the next: I am working for a client who has several CO societies, with a hierarchy in each CO society, but no Enterprise organization created.
How can I create a Standard Hierarchy without to create an Enterprise Organization?

Hi Mario,
Through the following path in SPRO transaction (IMG):
Controlling -> Cost Center Accounting -> Enterprise Organization -> Enter Settings for Enterprise Organization
you will be able to check whether the Controlling Area has the Enterprise Organization schema active or not.
If you are creating a new Controlling Area and you do not need to have that flag enabled, try to uncheck it here.

IHC Cash concentration Account Hierarchy with different currencies - F9H1

Hello Experts,
Can someone please help me find out if it In Tcode: F9H1/F9H2, it is possible to create an account hierarchy with sub account in different currency than the Root account?
I am getting the following error when I try to create an account hierarchy with different currencies in root account(USD account) and subaccount(GBP account)
"Account XXXXGBPYYYY / GBP cannot be inserted; Currency not possible"
Is this a system limitation or are we missing some configuration?

In the new version of IHC, which is available from EA-FINSERV 500 onwards, the cash concentration process generates 2 payment orders -
1. BCA payment order ( or the OLD IHC payment order - can be viewed via F9I3)
2. IHC payment order (or the payment order created in the new version - can be viewed via IHC0)
This happens only when you configure the module IHC_BCA_EXTERNAL_PAYMENT in the BTE 10310 for application IHC.
This would then call the new version of IHC and post a payment order which you can view from tcode IHC0.
If instead of module IHC_BCA_EXTERNAL_PAYMENT, another module PAYMENT_EXTERN_IHC is configured in the BTE 10310 then it would look for an entry in the table TBKKIHB4 to create a PAYRQ (treated as external payment). And, on finding the table empty, it throws the error message as mentioned by you.

Alternate hierarchy with only the Leaf nodes

I have an account hierarchy with multiple levels in it. Now I want to make an alternative hierarchy with only the leaf nodes of that hierarchy with using the same nodes. Can anyone please explain the steps how to do it.

Unless you have any special requirements it will be straight forward, get an export of all the leaf members in an action script format and execute the INSERT action on your alternate hierarchy, you can create your alternate hierarchy with only the TOP node and insert the leaf members under it, in case you have thousands of them, you can split them by introducing dummy parents, also if you wish to maintain any local properties, please have them updated accordingly.

please have a look in the source of the executed Web Application. What is inside of the <div> with the id filter?
You should also find a td tag with id hier_xyz with xyz the filter inside of the <div>-Tag with id filter.
Also check whether you have a javascript error.
Have a look on the Javascript function set_style. Perhaps you can paste it here, than I can have a look.

How to create a hierarchy with postable notes

Please take e look at the following case:
In BPS we want to make a planning on groups of FI-GL-accounts. For the grouping of the GL-account we make use of the Financial Statement functionality in R/3. With a BC DataSource (0GL_ACCOUNT_T011_HIER) this Financial Statement is imported in BW as a hierarchy on InfoObject 0GL_ACCOUNT. As said, we do not want to make a planning on the GL-account but on the groups, i.e. the nodes of the hierarchy. We think in this case we need a BW hierarchy with postable nodes and make the planning on the inner nodes of the hierarchy.
So far so good, but when we execute the Manual planning the system responds with Hierarchy xxxx does not contain any postable nodes Anyone has a clue? Did we forget something?

For the hierarchy with postable nodes the nodes also have to be captured as characteristic values firstly. For more details refer to the document link below

BW Problem Extracting Custom Hierarchy

Hello Experts,
I have built a completely new hierarchy of new custom master data in R3. I then have used BW07 to create a datasource to extract the hierarchy data with no problems.
I have then created a new infoobject in BW and I have successfully loaded the master data. However when I assign the new Hierarchy datasource it shows the transfer structure with my infobject but with length 0 rather than the correct 8.
When I then perform a data load I get error the error "Syntax error in generated program, row 33". Looking at the code it has indeed got a data element defined with length 0.
What am I doing wrong? Everything seems to be generated, replicated and active. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I cant find anything similar on OSS and I would have thought this was basic functionality.

I have found the answer to this problem.
If the data element the hierarchy datasource is based on does not have a domain BW07 will not pick up the length of the field.

Hierarchy with Intervals and Temporal Join

Hi,
I am loading a hierarchy structure (Time dependant and with Temporal Join and Intervals)
in the flat file structure for hier loading we have leaf to and leaf from fields which means Page of the hierarchy to and page of the hierarchy from.
can anyone let me know what is the use of these fields, and the values we have to pass for these fields with an example.
i haven't come across Hier loading with intervals and termporal join.
can anyone please help me in this?

BI Process (Loading Hierarchies from Flat file to BI)
Go to RSA1
Create info object for customer as zcust_b5 and activate
Create info object as zcust_b5 and activate it
Select the info object and double click on it
Select the hierarchies tab and select the option with hierarchies
And select Hierarchies not time dependent
Click external characteristics in hierarchies
Select your Infoobjects in the list and pass it and activate it
After activating the objects we will see tables of hierarchies at maintain Hierarchies
Create an application component
Create the transfer rules for the info object and activate (for hierarchies, texts, attributes)
This screen will show the communication structure.
After creating the data source at info source level the field attributes are shown in above
Create an excel sheet with required values and save it in CSV file.
Uploading the Hierarchy Data into BW
a) Create Info Package for Hierarchy Upload. Select the Hierarchy to be uploaded
and also the Full Update button as we are uploading the entire Hierarchy.
b) There are three update methods for uploading the hierarchy.
Full Update: For Uploading the entire hierarchy structure
Insert Sub tree: For appending the hierarchy with new nodes.
Update Sub tree: For modifying the nodes of the hierarchy.
Create info package and schedule the data loads
Select the Hierarchy and name it before scheduling
Schedule and Start the data loads
After creating the info package of the info object the above screen shows the initial hierarchy maintenance
Hierarchy is done successfully by extracting data from flat file.
time dependent :
a) For making the hierarchy time dependent select the u2018Time-Dependent Hierarchy structureu2019 radio button and activate the info object ZSREP
b) In the transfer structure there will be 2 more additional fields date from and date to for the time dependent nodes.
c) Consider that Sales Representative u2018SREP2u2019 was in England up to 31/12/1995 and moved to USA
d) Flat file structure for the above hierarchy is shown below . It contains two extra columns Date-to and Date-from.
e) In the info-package Update tab , select Fixed Time interval radio button and give start date as 01/01/1000 and End date as 31/12/9999 so that all nodes are uploaded.
f) Upload the hierarchy data from flat-file to BW.
g) Display the loaded hierarchy.

Extracting Territory Hierarchy into BW

All - I am hoping someone may be able to help out with this issue.
Within the 0CRM_TR info object, the hierarchies are set up to be time-dependent. This means that they are valid for a specific time.
When we created our infopackage to load data, all hierarchies are set up to be valid for only 1 month.
First question:
1. Is there a way to load a hierarchy and have the validitiy period valid until 12/31/9999.
Also, I attempted to create a generic hierarchy that has validity dates from now until 12/31/9999, the only problem with that is that I cannot figure out how to load it. The hierarchy does not show up in the infopackage for 0CRM_TR.
Second Question:
2. If we cannot load into a hierarchy that has a valid to date of 12/31/9999, how can we get queries to identify which hierarchy is the valid one. Currently we created a restricted variable for Territory and its pointing to this month's valid hierarchy. We do not want to have to update queries on a monthly basis.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know this is a very late reply, but here is the solution
a. Implement note 887201 on the CRM side. This would make the infopackage extract the hierarchy valid on a certain date ( infopack execution date) and set its validity to only one day.. Dont Panic!
b. Make the Hierachy structure in BW time-dependent.( currently the hierachy is time dependent)
This should solve your problem

Extract sub-Hierarchy

Hello,
actually I have a problem with hierarchy extraction. I need to publish a sub-hierarchy.
My idea:
Create a transformation between a full hierarchy and a sub hierachy. Within the transformation, I would have filtered out the nodes I do not want to publish in the sub hiearchy. However it is not possible to use transformation between hierachy.
Now i tried to build a generic extractor on the /BIC/H-table and wanted to transform this generic datasource into the sub hierarchy --> not possible because I can not create a generic-hierarchy-datasource (besides flat files).
Any idea how so solve this problem with NW 7.0?

Extracting 0ind_code hierarchy

Hello everybody,
we use 0industry in our sales reports. The master data for that object we get out of the R3. In our CRM system we have a industry hierarchy which is based on 0ind_code and deals with the same data. We want to display this hierarch in the BW. So we use the standard extractor in CRM 0IND_SECTOR_HIER and changed the updating rules in BW so that the hierarchy is part of 0industry (and not of 0ind_code). We can extract the hierarchy without any problems but the mapping of the hierarchy objects of CRM (0ind_code) with 0industry we are using in the BW obviously does not. Does anybody know a way to make this work?

When it comes to hierarchies, life has become easier with the "new" hierarchy framework as introduced in BW release 7.3. You can use 7.0 data staging technology with transformations and DTPs. In the transformation there are some new hierarchy rule types and on top of that, you can even write routines.
Most of the mapping is done automatically. If you have a look at your PSA data, then you will normally see what you have to do and whether or not to write a tiny routine (e.g. to map to another InfoObject).
There are basically 2 cases to determine the Hierarchy Characteristics:
FIELDNAME is available in hierarchy structure (e.g. G/L account number);
Only IOBJNM is available in hierarchy structure (e.g. Material Hierarchy).
In the first case, you can use the transformation rule type Derive Hierarchy Characteristic. In the second case, you can use the transformation rule type Hierarchy Split for NODENAME and a simple ABAP coding for the InfoObject. You have to program any replacement of BCT InfoObjects (e.g. 0MATERIAL by RMATERIAL). You can check the PSA data of segment Hierarchy Nodes to determine all BCT InfoObjects to be replaced.

FPBW: Extract Open Items with a posting date in the future

Dear all,
I'm are currently searching for possibilities to extract Open Items with a posting date in the future from SAP IS-U 4.72 into SAP BW 3.5.
Currently I'm using the Business Content extractor 0FC_OP_01 together with the mass transaction FPBW in IS-U.
The problem I'm facing is within the mass transaction FPBW. I've have set the key date at 01.11.2007, but this job already runs for 52.000 seconds on the same database select-statement.
Does anybody know a possible solution to improve the performance of the statement below? (I pasted it from the process overview)

Hi Marcos,
When you have created the Restricted keyfigures for Open Items, You have to add the date characteristic on which you are looking open item and add the variable there.Here you have to use a variable of type Interval and select the operator "<" the date of the Variable.If you go through, there are standard variable for keydate, which you can use directly.

Not able to create a Data source with qty filed in the table

Hi i am having scenario.
i am doing a Genric R/3 extraction for R/3 system. I created a view from two tables. I have added a net quantity field also in then view table. But when i created a data source for that view it is showing a error message which says that it cannot create a data source with a quantity field in the table.
Here is my question. How to create a Data Source for a view table which has Qty filed in it.
Pls help with this.

U need to add reference table for the unit .... when added into the view u create .......the reference table name u can find in the table itself from where it is brought into the view.... in the table currency quantity fields........
U can add that table in the currency /quantity fields of the view....u need to add referecne field and table...and activate ........

Problem in creating a generic datasource with infoset

Dear Expert,
I have to create a generic datasource with infoset. I linked the infoset with a test program below. In the program, I have one selection option, which is s_order. After creating an infoset and a datasource, this selection option 'SELECT_S_ORDER' is added to my extract structure. However, after try filtering with this SELECT_S_ORDER, it doesn't filter data at all. Why? I want to filter data with my s_order.

Error While Opening dataform after creating Planning Unit Hierarchy

Hi All,
I created a Planning Application through classic wizard. Then i created a planning unit hierarchy, after which I am getting the following error: (when i try to open a dataform, from some user other than admin/owner)
*"Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on this data form"*
I know that this error occurs when some dimension members are represented on dataform but are not assigned with security rights. But thats not the problem in my case. Because I assign security rights to all members of all dimension just for the sake of testing. I later on identifed that this error occurs due to dimensions present in POV i.e. I need to select a single member of each POV dimensions, then in such case this error disappears.
Now my question is that why i need to select a single member from each POV dimension? I general i leave POV dimensions as it is, while creating dataform
Right now i aad a dummy member at the top of each dimension, e.g Account_UnSpecified, Entity_UnSpecified and so on . . . and then i select this member from each of POV dimension.

You can try creating new Root folder and new workspace for your NWDS.
1. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_ROOT ' in your machine
2. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_WORKSPACE ' in your machine
3. Open NWDS (and logon to DTR)
4. Remove all configurations from your Development Configuration perspective (except 'Local Development')
5. Go to Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infra --> Development Configurations
6. Change 'Root Folder' to the folder created in step-1
7. Close NWDS
8. Create ' Run_NWDS.bat ' file in your NWDS installation folder which has 'SapIde.exe' file
(it will be generally in --> C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse)
9. Type following in .bat file -->
SapIde.exe -data "<complete path to folder created in step-2>"
10. Now double click on this .bat file to open NWDS
Now logon to DTR, import configuration, create project from 'inactive DCs' and you should be able to create project and see it in respective perspective.
