Creating Forms and Databases

Hello, I've uploaded my database onto my site and now I've
created an online form that is suppose to populate my database,
however I can't get it to submit the data into the database. I used
the "Record Insertion Form Wizard" in Dreamweaver to create the
form. When I test online, fill in all the fields and click on
submit , it returns me to the index.asp page with an error message
"Internal Server Error". I've also created an additional page
called hello.asp for when the submit button is pressed the page
would "go to" the hello.asp page of my site. I don't know what I'm
doing wrong or what I need to do to correct. Please help! Thank
you.

In IE go into options and under the Advanced Tab deselect the
option to
"Display Friendly URL Errors", then you will get the true
problem. The most
likely cause is a permissions issue with the database. You
need to ensure
that it has write but not browse access enabled.

i exported the application from apex.oracle.com and imported it to our environment
import went fine, but when I ran the IR page I got
ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00904: : invalid identifier
evidently the problem is a lack of public execute on DBMS_LOB, which is used in the generated IR source.
while waiting for the DBA to grant privs on DBMS_LOB, changing the dbms_lob.getlength call to length() fixes the IR.
however, i am not getting the download link on the associated form page... changed templates, that's not the issue -- we'll see if that's a dbms_lob issue as well

Looks like there is a 127-column limit on the number of report columns supported when using that wizard. Do you have more than that?

Different values on form and database

hi all
i have a field which counts the number of rows
on the form which is showing a different value (which is correct)
and in the database it is showing a different value (incorrect)
i have issued commit
i am not understanding why this is happening ..

listening for the first time but u r facing the problem, reconfirm that the query/properties are correct in form properties, check it by creating new form module for just checking weather it is showing correct in that form. and c if there is when_new_form_instance trigger or When_Validate_windows trigger used for some execution. and one more thing just check if u didnt change the column and create it again and database type is NO ( properties )

Grant privileges and permission to user, to create user and database in 10g

I'm very much new to Oracle 10g database and after all my search, I think this forum will help me to solve my puzzle. Installed Oracle 10g database and during installation created a Global database "TestDB". I created an user "user1" in sqlplusw, by logging in as system.
Now I need to know, what privileges and permissions should be given to this "user1", so that I can create new users and create database by logging as "user1". I don't want to Inherit all the sytem privileges of SYSTEM or SYSDBA or SYS or SYSOPER.
Is there a way where I could achieve this by explicitly granting the required privileges and permissions

You may need to know all the views to get the privilege information.

Is it possible to create forms and workflow by Workbench and manage them by ContentSpace?

In a previous issue, I have asked the interrelationship between Workspace and Contentspace. I learned a lot, and I'm very appreciate the kindly answer from Hodmi and Jasmin. And this time, I want to ask something about Workbench and Contentspace.
As a part of presentation for a corporate client, I am trying to make a demonstration model. I 've created a PDF form and an Approval-and-Rejection workflow by Workbench. And I want to upload the form and the workflow to the Contentspace.
In my imagination, I would make a button in the form, and then when I click the button, the form will be sent from the client side to the server side. As a result, it will appear on the space which I specified in Contentspace.
About the workflow, I guess the Contentspace and Workbench may have some common place about Process Management and there is some transportation mechanism or something else between them. So by changing some configuration the workflow could be added into Contentspace.
It is totally selfish imagination, but if it is possible, I think my corporate client will be more interesting about Adobe Livecycle.

Let's me just try to answer to question in several pieces.

You can definitily save the form in content space. I'm not sure what you mean about the workflow.

This is also possible.

You need to use the ContentSpace service. The Content Space service gives you a bunch operation like storeContent, retrieveContent, etc. You can use that service in Workbench, or call it directly using SOAP or REST.
So to summarize, you can use the Content Space service to interact with content space to get and store your forms for you workflow.

Is there any options to creat only Oracle 10g forms and reports services cluster ?

Yes, You can create a "logical" cluster. You don't need to have a cluster hardware, You can make more than one Forms/reports installation and then associte them. I created one more than one year ago so I don't remember how it is configured but I used a note from metalink to do this. Basically I was having problems with reports crash, or printers errors, So I created a cluster with some other installation and then when a printer failed another reports could be used as fail over automatically.

Integration with muse created forms and business catalyst mailing lists

I have just spent a long time on a chat session with support after spending most of a day trying to sort out how to have the people who fill in our contact us page to be automatically added to a mailing list to keep in contact with them, but it seems there isnt a strong link with muse to do this easily.
When you create a form in muse, it has an option to send the completed forms to a selected email adress. It would be great if you there was also an option to add that contact to a selected mailing list group already created in Business Catalys
I would have also like the full integration of form central to be inside muse with all its functions. So I could create gift voucher orders forms and receive payments by paypal or other options.
It has been a frustrating day trying to figure it out as the forums didnt seem to help with the info i needed.
It seems to use Business Catalyst webforms requires html coding knowledge which I dont have. you can created a basic form in there easily, but if you want to make it two collumns wide or other changes, it is very difficult to use with coding
A decent wysiwig editor in Business Catalyst would be great

Forms and database character conversion

Hi,
We currently have a database setup to use a non-utf8 characters set, I believe it is set up for western european languages only. We now want to expand our database to include support for other languages such as arabic and japanese. To do this we would like to make a copy of our existing database and change the charecter set to UTF8.
We also have a Forms application currently using Forms 5 and due to be upgraded to 11g.
What sort of implications willl changing the database character set have for the existing Oracle Forms? What sort of changes if any will we need to make to the Forms in order to get them working with the new character set?

I get error "This operation is not permitted" after creating form and opening it in Reader...

Hi,
I am very frustrated with this form I have created. I created the form in Acrobat 8 but could not get it allow changes to be saved until I chose to "distribute" form. I did that and now have a form that can be caved once filled out however when you open it you get the error "This operation is not permitted".
From reading some other posts, I have done the following:
Checked security settings and they do not fix it.
Checked that all fields were form fields and they seem to be.
Checked restrictions listed in purple bar and there were none.
Checked for "unembedded" fonts and there were none.
I think using Acrobat 9 might help me but I do not want the expense as I only use Acrobat for forms like this once a year.
Does anyone know what is going on here and can maybe help?
