• Create forum using html db

  Is there any example on how to use HTML DB to create a forum type of application, allowing users to add comments and put the comments in the same thread?

  dave's answer above is correct. you can't create a region dynamically at runtime, but you can certainly display dynamic content in htmldb using any number of built-in methods. conditionally displaying regions and even the content within those regions is certainly one way. if you have regions of type "PL/SQL Dynamic Content", you could, of course, do whatever you want in there. if you're talking about something close to a shopping cart scenario, where your users are choosing N number of whatever on previous screens, you might want to consider using htmldb Collections. you can get a feel for how they work by installing our Demonstration Application called "Collections Showcase". the third tab in that app has a decent explanation of what's going on. please do take a look around, consider your options, and let us know if you need further assistance.

  that you can use diretly from their control panel. If not,
  then check with
  them what they
  support, asp, php etc.,

• Not able to CREATE FORUM, or DELETE PRODUCT in discussion forum

  I have deployed “Discussion Forum” provided by Oracle.
  For deployment I have followed the document provided, which is available on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/html/installing.integration.v2.html
  Our application running on mid tier 904_j2ee 9.0.4 at port 80, and infra also running on port 80. URL of my site is www.icai.org which is deployed under mid tier.I have deployed discussion forum in 904_j2ee/j2ee/OC4J_Portal.
  Thease are the information about the deployed discussion forum.
  Application Version 9.0.4.0.99
  Database Version as follows:
  Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
  PL/SQL Release 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
  CORE 9.0.1.2.0 Production
  TNS for Linux: Version 9.0.1.4.0 - Production
  NLSRTL Version 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
  After deployment, I have registered the provider, and attached this to portal page. Till this stage its working fine. Now Discussion Forum page is appearing, and I am able to add “NEW PRODUCT”. But when I click to “NEW FORUM” link or delete the ‘PRODUCT’ i get following error.
  ERROR
  The requested URL could not be retrieved
  While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.icai.org/portal/page?
  The following error was encountered:
  •     Access Denied.
  Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.
  I am not able to find the error please suggest me as this is very urgent for me.

  please let me know here if you find any useful resources...I am in the process of writing my own searchable threaded forum for my company with JSP's/servlets. It's a very slow process at the moment though...if I ever finish it, I'll gladly share it.

  I create a forum1 base on KM Discussion iView,
  then I create a forum2 base on KM Discussion iView to.
  then I found that the forum1 and forum2 is the same forum.  when i post a topic on forum1,  i will see this topic also in forum2.
  would you tell me what is the right way to create forum?

  in the prorperties of the iview there is
  Path to Discussion-Related Object. Here you specify different path to the km(to the folder you create for forum1 and in the other iview for form2). Then the discussions in one forum will not be reflected in other forums.

• Unable to create a connection for Discussion Forums.

  Hi,
  I have my WC_Spaces and WC_Colloboration Servers running actively. When I try to create a new connection by right-clicking Connections in Applications Resources and choose Discussion Forums and too I entered the URL and admin fields, I find its unable to create a new connection. The error displayed is : "Failed to verify connection". Please help me with this.

  In your webcenter application you have created the discussion forum connection and you have connections.xml file in your application.Open the connections.xml in jdeveloper and check the discussion forum connection entry.

  Change the required entries with your values(for serveraddress,port and admin user).
  One more thing need to consider that is -
  in jdeveloper proxy ,add the server address in exception list and restart the jdeveloper.
  Sometimes it will show you up as "failed to verify the connection". But it will work atleast functionality-wise it will work.
  Apart from this,I have a query on "Have you used any VPN connection to connect collaboration server to create forum connection?"

  bet is to look at one of the free forum application packages, like
  phpBB for PHP or Snitz for ASP.
