Creating global actions

Hi
I am presently involved in a global implementation for PA/OM. We have a global list of infotypes and there are country specific infotypes.
I had one doubt/clarification
Doubt - The action (New Hire) picks up the infogroup from which of the following usergr/ molga or the Personal Area ??
Explaination -
So I have 2 infogroups - 10 and 40
*Under usergp/ Molga - 40* - in the user profiles -
In IT 0000 under usergp/ molga 40 I assign the Personal Area to a US Personal Area i.e US01 it takes up the infotypes of MOLGA 10. Is there any way I restrict it or give an error to avoid using that PA for the usergp - 40
Thanks
Sudhir

Sikandar - A couple of quick things, we would be activating the global employee in SAP to tavel people who travel. So there would be different personnel numbers for the employee which would be tracked through various infotypes i.e. 0081, 0710, 0707 and 0715.
So it would not be different if an employee moves from India to the US or from US to India they would be tracked. They would have many personnel nos but only one person ID or global ID.
Hope this helps
Sudhir

• How to create global toolbar for some common operation like add, delete etc

Hi,
I want to create one global toolbar which contains buttons for common operations such as add, delete, modify etc.
I have one globl .jspx page and in its center facet, I am loading my each screen's .jsff page.
Now I want to create global toolbar on my .jspx page and when I click on toolbar's add button at that time it should call, currently loaded .jsff (loaded in center facet of .jspx page) backing bean's add method.
How can I get the instance of currently loaded .jsff backing bean in my toolbar's backing bean and also I need it with its current state( means whatever UI components have values I should be able to get it in my instance).
Regards,
Devang

Hi,
since page templates don't support method expression arguments there are two options I can imagine
- define a contract between the toolbar buttons and the availability of a managed bean available for the consumer page. If for example each page has a managed bean like <viewId>_toolbar then the Toolbar could reference exposed methods on this bean (which must be consistent)
- Another option is to have the page passing in the EL string to access the iterator to operate on as an attribute of the template you use. Then you create a ValueExpression from it and call it for the button action events that you point to the managed bean you deploy with the template

• Deadlock with CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE

I got this error
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00060: deadlock detected while waiting for resource
while trying to create global temporary table.
Table creation command:
CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE ITUSER.T_0091FBDG ("GOD" char(4) DEFAULT (' ') NOT NULL,"UNKUM" number(10,0) DEFAULT (0) NOT NULL,[a lot of other fields]) ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS
There is no outer references in command. So does somebody know where does deadlock come from?
I'm using Oracle 10g.

• How can I create an action that dynamically appends the filename, when saving?

I have created a batch file that watches a folder for .jpgs. When a jpg is found, it runs a Photoshop droplet that resizes and exports six different sizes of the same image, then closes the image. This all works fine, however the step I am stuck on is getting Photoshop to dynamically rename the files. What I mean is when I drop in a file named something like filename.jpg, I want the images to be named according to the width of resize. Exported files should be filename-1400.jpg, filename-1200.jpg, filename-800.jpg, etc. filename2.jpg would become filename2-1400.jpg, filename2-1200.jpg, filename-800.jpg. As it is now, Photoshop names the files the same names I saved them as, while creating the actions.
I am using Photoshop CS6.

What OS and verson of AI? Along with what Myle said, in the Actions panel is a column which allows the dialogs to be turned on/off. Make sure this is unchecked at all levels of the Action.

• Is there a way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set Crop tool to the front window size?

Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6?
I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.
Thanks.

It depends on whether you have the cloud version or perpetual license version.
For the cloud version press I (eye)
For the perpectual version press F

• ORA-00955 reports when I try to "create global temporary table" in windows

Hi,
When I try to run the sql in my oracle 9i server which is installed in a windows2000 machine,
Create global temporary table test ...;
For the first time, I can create table successfully.
But I cannot access this table any more:
drop table test;
desc test;
select * from test;
In addition, if I try to create the table again, I got the error:
ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
While the same table can be created and dropped in another oracle9i server which is installed in Solaris 9 machine.
So I suspect that this sould be a bug of window oracle server.
Is there anyone who can confirm this?
Or who can tell me how to report this bug to oracle?
Thanks in advance.
Please also refer the message at:
http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:::::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID:1046974576560
If you search the text: "create global temporary table sess_event", you can see for the first time, the table is created successfully.
But the ORA-00955 reports when the author try to create table for the second time.
This problem is exactly the same as my problem.
I have also made a search both in Google and in Oracle website and I cannot find any solution of it.

Hi,
"CREATE GLOBAL TEPORARY TABLE ..." is not a PL/SQL command; it is a SQL command only.
Create the table, using that statement, before running the PL/SQL block.
You can issue SQL statements from within PL/SQL using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE command, but this is rarely a good idea.
I assume the PL/SQL code is meant to create the table and then populate it.
You should split those into two separate pieces of code. You'll only want to create the table once, no matter how many times you use it. I assume you'll want to populate it the same way many times. Remember, the "TEMPORARY" in "GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE" refers to the data, not the table. When you end a transaction (or a session, depending on whther you want "ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS" or "ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS"), the data disappears, but the now-empty stays, ready to be populated for the next transaction (or session).

• Getting error while creating Business Action with EDI EDIFACT 837 document.

Hi,
When I am trying to create a business action with EDI 837 ‘.ecs’ file, I am getting a error. It is not creating the business action. Even it is not displaying any error details.
Please help me in resolving this issue as it's very urgent.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jyotirmoy,
What error you are getting exactly while creating the business action? Did you try to create business action for any other protocol? If not, then please try to create business action for any other protocol and check whether you are getting the same error over there also.

• CS3: Having problems creating an Action to "Save for Web"

Hello All,
I'm trying to create an Action to convert my psd. files to JPEG's suitable for the web. I'm using a Mac Pro running CS3. My workspace is Adobe RGB (1998), all files begin as Canon CR2 RAW, are edited at 16 bits, and then saved as psd. I created an Action the following way from an open psd. image in Photoshop:
1) Windows>Actions
2) Create New Action
3) Re-named "Save For Web" then clicked Record
4) Image>Duplicate>OK
5) Edit>Convert to Profile
6) Changed Destination Space to sRGB IEC61966-2.1>OK
7) File>Save As
8) Format> No JPEG option ?????????? What?
Everything seemed fine until I reached the Format stage. I had many choices, but JPEG was not one of them. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!

It never occured to me that I should convert back to 8-bit before saving, and truthfully I had no idea how to do that anyhow. I know, what a Newbie, huh?
Go to the Image menu in Photoshop:
Image > Mode > 8 bits. Pretty straight forward and fast.

I'll pass on that. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of the Scott Kelby crowd, so I don't follow them regularly.
Thanks again Ramon, I can't believe I've overlooked the Image>Mode>8 bit path for this long.

I can create an action but the droplet doesn't do anything when I drop a file on it. I am running Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 on a 64 bit Windows7 PC. I exactly followed the steps on a youtube video on how to create an action and how to create a droplet.

Thanks for the reply, I tried that but i wasn't able to get it to work. I also tried to see if l could using the
function functionName()
and I was still unable to.

I haven't tried it yet, so i could be way off. But since you assigned it to a variable I would say it won't do anything until to call that variable. I would assume there must be a show command or similar that is needed for it to display.
My experience is with actionscript and javascript but still I lean towards basic. I don't feel comfortable enough to say I am any higher yet as more experience is needed in my opinion.
So feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt.

• Creating an action for a template

Hi, I'm in the middle of creating an action for a template I've created but have hit a couple of snags. The template I have created has a few blank layers that I wish to fill with different images by importing them and clipping them to the blank layer. My issues: 1) When I run the action I need to specifiy a folder and file location which gets stored in the action - when viewing that particular action will show up the full path of where to find that file - I do not want this. I would like the action to present to 'open' window to me to allow me to select a file of my choosing without having a predefined folder to go to... 2) When opening an image it will open on its own project window. When I select the image and copy + paste it into my template it requires me to select the template project. This action will insert a 'selection 2' action step when recording. Playing this back will cause a failure as it cannot find the project for an unknown reason. Is there a way of specifiying the project window name I wish to go to during recording? I hope that is clear enough to understand. Hope someone has some solution for me. Thanks, MJ

You may want to look at my Phtoshop package "Photo Collage Toolkit" It has four rules to follow when creating templates and some Photoshop Scripts. Scripting is much more powerful then actions. In the package there is a scripts to test templates your developing, A script to build a template, a script to populate a template with you images, a script to interactivly populate a template with your images, a script to batch populate a template with your images and a script to batch populate a single image template with your images.

• How do i create an action to crop to fit something?

Hello, I have a bunch or 3d renders which are a flat colour background with an object in the center.
I need to create an action to crop the flat colour around the object, leaving a specified space. Mantaining the aspect ratio of the picture would be nice, but no completelly necessary.
Maybe theres a plugin, script or other software for doing this?
I attached an example.

HELP!

Keep in mind Trim will only work if the color is an exact match in all pixels, and things get complicated when you start re-expanding the image using a sampled color. It all falls apart if there's any variation in the background color. I don't think Trim it's the best choice.
However, one can imagine creating an action based on the Magic Wand tool and an appropriate tolerance value to get the job done. It would go something like this:
1. Click the Magic Wand in the upper-left corner. That selects virtually all of the background color.
2. Select - Inverse.
3. Select - Expand - XX pixels where XX is the amount of border you want.
4. Image - Crop.
5. Select - Deselect.
I even tried it to ensure it works. A sample version is here: http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/temp/Goblino.zip

• In Need of Help Creating an Action

Hello,
I need to create several thousand QR codes and I am trying to work out how to automate it so that I don't have to make them one at a time.
My idea was to download the EVEnX QR Code plugin for Photoshop and then make an action, or series of actions, to make the codes en mass. The information I need in each QR Code is a URL, with each code having a unique one that links to the products serial number.
So, I created a file roughly the size of the QR codes I needed and used vairables to insert the URL on text layer. I was hoping to be able to create an action that would copy that text, open the plugin (which works like a filter), paste the text, create the code and save/close the image.
However, I can't seem to get it to work. I don't know how to make an action to have it highlight the text layer or an action to paste it into the plugin.
Also, the plugin allows you to make a variable of certain information it pulls from the file but the closest I can get to what I need is file name, however I can't make the files named for the URL because of the slashes. They allows you to use file name, file path and the information like size and date.
Sorry for the long post but I HAVE to get this figured out as this project is for work and I am on a time limit. I don't have to use an action, any other way would be fine! I don't have much experience with scripts but if you can walk me through one that would work then I would be happy to try! PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks!

• How to create new actions ? in the interaction record screen

Hi all,
I'm working with the IC web client.
In the interaction record screen the is a link to actions.
But how to create new actions ? schedule actions ?
Component "ICCMP_BT_INR"
View "InrHeaderViewSet"

Hi Eran,
Gret is absolutely right ..The actions are transaction type specific and can be attached along in the customizing as mentioned above by gret , these can then be tested in the SAP gui first for their scheduled and start conditions and then in the ICWC.
There is no special settings for actions in ICWC if they are there in your transaction they will come in the ICWC.
Hope this helps

• Creating an action link in a custom tag

What is the recommended way of creating an action url (and some parameters) through code, not through a netui tag? I'm writing a custom tag that is being used in a PageFlow application. Ultimately the tag puts out a set of links based on some data it collects. I want the links to be action links to the current pageflow and to 'play nice' with the current page flow and other tags.
Since it's in my own custom tag I don't really have the option of using the netui:anchor tag, I need to create the URL for the action invocation through code.
Thanks for any tips.
