Creating greeting cards in PRE 10

I am using PRE 10 to create a greeting card.  Tis the season.  LOL ..  Anyway, I select create, greeting card, themes.  It appears as though all the themes come from Shutterfly.  And any particular theme only gives you one template to choose from.  None of which I want to use.  I previously created cards in PRE 7 and had lots of choices for a theme.  It was  a lot easier and more fun.  Are Shutterfly templates the default for PRE 10?  Is there a way to load other templates into PRE 10?
Hope this makes sense.  Thanks for your help!

No … I’m just using PSE 10.  Sorry about that…. I just done seem to have the variety of templates in PSE 10 then I did in PSE 7.  Trying to figure out why not..
Thank you!!

This site has a few greeting card tutorials
    http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cardshop/tuts1/index.htm.
I have also used their greeting cards and envelopes and have always been satisfied with their products.
    I don't know exactly what size your photo is but what I do is;
make a new document the size of the photo plus 1/4-inch all around for a border.  Double this if the card is a half-fold card.
I add a new layer and use the pencil tool mark where to divide the card in half (where I will fold the card), and to mark the 1/4 inch border on the front.  I use the grid (View>Grid).  I make any more marks I might need.  Just remember to keep it all on a new layer and turn it off before you print.  Very annoying to print your card and see your markings!!
Since I want them to fit in an envelope, I use whatever size I need to fit and make the images fit the card.
I hope this has been of some help to you.  I really enjoy making cards!

  • Create greeting cards

Hello my create greeting cards elements_10 wont open.  A box pops up and says " valid size not available "   all other create applications open. Tech help hung up on me because i wasn't able to follow instructions quick enough.  Can anyone please help  thanks.
    Question ?

My problem is fixed with the help of a friend.   I had myself and administrator as users so closed administrator,  changed my location which was on Brazil to united states, ( i'm in Australia.)  Added  "old" to the end of the database .db3 file (that was the support networks suggestion). Then uninstalled and re-installed and everthing is working fine.  Such a relief it took me 3 weeks to get it all up and running.

  • PSE6 shuts down creating greeting cards

If I open an image in Editor then go > Create, > greeting card, > select a layout I get error report and it shuts down.
It worked perfectly yesterday so I can't figure it out!

    Hi,
Is this happening every time you create a greeting card? Try selecting a different layout before creating the greeting card.

  • Can Anyone Tell Me How to Create Greeting Cards with Photoshop Elements 7 or 8?

I need a 7x10 page setup so that when the card is folded to a 5x7 my photo is landscape on the outside of the card.  Currently I can only find a 8 1/2 x 11 paper size.
    Thanks,

In Photoshop Elements 8 Editor, go to the Create tab, and you will see Greeting card, with 5x7 page size.

    Hello,
I am not sure to understand what you are trying to do.
If the question is can I send mail from J2EE application/JSP sure you can you just need to use the JavaMail API that is part of the J2EE specifications.
You will find lot of samples over the web explaining how to use it.

  • I can not create a Calendar or Book, Yet I CAN create greeting cards

    Hi,
I am using iLife 08, iPhoto updated to 7.1.1 on Leopard 10.5.1
i can make greeting cards, but I cant make a Calendar or a book. I used to make books all the time so I am very familiar with the old process.
now I select the pictures in a separate file and hit the (plus) button and in the box where a style of Calendar or book should come up, it is blank. Yet if I hit the tab for greeting cards, all of my options are there.
can anyone help or teach me the new way please?
    thanks !

    ScottJon,
Unfortunately I don't have a solution, but I do have a similar problem. I thought I would post a link here to the thread I started just in case:

  • What to  use to create greeting cards?

    Thanks,

    Also:
Good place to look for software:

And for free alternatives to some popular software packages:

(If you see an ad there for something called MacKeeper, ignore it and on no account install it - it is malware.)

  • How do I create a greeting card using PSE 9?

I just purchased and installed PSE 9 for the express purpose of creating personalized greeting cards.  All of the promotional material indicates that I should be able to do this with PSE 9.  However, when I try to create a card, I get a message saying that this feature is only available to "Plus" members!  Is all of the promotional material (online and offline) in error or is this a new requirement that is not yet documented?

  • How to e-mail Greeting Cards created in Elements

I would like to be able to create Greeting Cards in Elements 11 and then e-mail the cards.
    I this possible?
    Sheila

There are multiple ways to do it.
    1) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment.
    2) Create a Greeting card in PSE Editor. Once done with editing click on File->Export Card and choose PDF/JPEG and save it on your hard drive and mail it as attachment. Import in your Organizer and choose Share->Email or PDF Slideshow etc.
I am hoping that you would like person to see th card on mail body itself so try Share->Photo mail also and probably JPEG should be fine here
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Garry

  • How do I print on the backside of a 5x7 folded greeting card?

I am trying to create a folded greeting card to print at home.  However, in creating a card and using the template, I cannot figure out how to put an image and text to print on the back of the greeting card.  The template does not allow me to add anything on the back.

I don't think it can be done with the supplied templates and when using the "Create Greeting Card" feature.
You can do it yourself by starting with a new image sized to the unfolded card, adding another page, and then adding your design elements to it.  You'll save it as a PSE project file, but then you'll have both sides that can be printed.

  • Greeting card software for Mac?

So, I switched my parents over to a Mac Mini a month ago. They really like it, but they miss having their "Greetings Workshop" greeting card software from their old Windows computer.
So, I'm trying to find something they can use instead. I've found a couple programs, but from many years ago. Something free would be best (either downloadable or online), but they're willing to pay for one too.
    Thanks!

For freebie software, check out http://www.versiontracker.com or http://www.macupdate.com. They have search options so you can find programs that are built for making greeting cards, however nobody can guarantee those programs will work (properly). They take submissions by everyone from major corporations to teenagers who're punching out their first programming efforts. Its worth a shot to check'em out though. Beyond that, however, you can create greeting cards in various word processors, including apple's Pages. I love the program myself, but some folks havent found it to be the most intuitive. Additionally, while it has starter templates, its more of a raw "start from scratch" program.
