Can anyone help. How do I create groups in contacts list in my ipad? I have the old ipad and the apple people cant seem to help. Thank you

You can create groups by using your mac (granted iCloud is turned on for contacts so it can sink the group to your devices) or by going to iCloud.com. Once you create the goup on the web app it will sync to your devices.
From icloud.com, select contacts and in the bottom left corner there is a "+" sign, click that then click create new group.

5310 Managing groups within the contact list

I have created several groups. I would like to have a one button option to see a list of the groups without the contacts included. I would like it to be similar a folder tree structure. One would not want to see the folders and files within a folders at the same time. As of now I see the groups mixed in with the contacts.
Is there a one button way to only see a list of your groups with the contacts pruned out on the 5310?

How can i create groups with my contacts?

I am wondering if apple has made it possible to add groups to my contacts. It takes forever to send one message to 30 people when you have to select them individually from your contacts. Also worry about missing one of the contacts that needs the message. Any help or news?

I don't know if there is a limitation to the number of characters you can have in an email address line in contacts, but you could try the following:
Create a list of email addresses in notepad separated in by commas. Highlight and copy the list. Create a new contact. Paste the list into one of the email fields. Create a new email and select the new entry from the contact list. When you send the email you will get a message indicating that the emal address appears to be invalid. Tap the send any way button.

No, and yes. Groups are created on your computer, and synced to contacts. You cannot create groups on the pad. But don't get excited, because when you sync over the groups it is very difficult to get them to do anything.
The good news is that there are a couple of apps that do this pretty well. I used group email a lot and it works just fine. There are a couple of others. Read the reviews.

Creating Groups

I know this might be a simple solutions but how do you create groups in the contacts part of the iphone, specifically so you can send a text message to more than one person without having to add each time for every text message.

The SMS app does not support using a group from the contacts. You can send to a group by manually adding the names, and then keeping that text and using again if you want to, as if they are a group you would normally send multiple texts too.

When I click on my contacts icon on my phone there is a Groups choice in the upper left hand corner. Make sure you are in All Contacts and not a specific person.

The easiest way is to get the app called group e mail. There are a couple of others as well. There is a way to do it on your computer, and sync it, but I find that personally frustrating. :). Save yourself the aggrevation, and get the app, that works pretty well.

Ok I have outlook 2007
I've read over the walk-thru you've provided & I believe I want to "Group Individual contacts into folders"
And I've created a new folder & have added the contacts with in that folder. I've also ticked the box to Sync Outlook with my iphone within itunes
But it still hasnt sync'd the info to my iphone?
Right now in Outlook on the left pane under "My Contacts" there is the folder "Contacts" and my new one "Native Sons"
But for some reason my iphone only wants to sync with the Contacts folder & not also the Native sons folder?
So is there a way to tick anything so that it syncs both folders, or do I need to add the people in my new group to the "Contacts" folder as well? Sort of double dip them?

I tried setting up a group with everyone in the group, but then I tried typing in the name of the group but it will not work. I am trying to make a group on my contacts. So that it's easier to just make messages to people and not having to make group messages every single time. For example, making a group for a sports team so that I can just message everyone in the group at once.

No not possible but you can create contact groups at www.icloud.com and if you have contact synced thru cloud the groups you make at www.icloud.com will appear on your phone

Olga, this is not a default feature in iPhone. You need a 3rd party application. I have created a free one, Easy Group, for group texting and group emailing.
