Creating Jolt Connections

In the case of a crash, if my weblogic server starts up before my tuxedo/jolt server does, is there a way to configure weblogic to retry to connect and create the jolt connections pool?

ODBC is the Microsoft database connection. O stands for Open, and it isn't. You want JDBC, Java DataBase Connectivity.
Now, do you see the search button and text rectangle next to it? (Upper-right corner whenever you're in these forums.) Type "JDBC" into the box, and click search and you'll have more answers than you could wish for.
Good luck!

  • Jolt connections and WL 6.0

    Hi-
    I've been encountering some difficulty in migrating our application from
    Weblogic 4.5.2 to 6.0. The issue right now is not being able to connect to
    the Jolt pools that I've defined via the console. Whenever I try and connect
    I receive the following error messages:
    Unable to connect to primary server at 206.88.43.52:64560
    Unable to connect to fail-over server at 206.88.43.52:64560
    I've installed the Jolt client for WL6.0 and changed the code to connect
    using the new method. I created the SimpAppServlet that is supplied in the
    readme file for the Jolt client for Weblogic and receive the following
    diagnostics when I run it.
    This is the response from the SimpAppServlet:
    Your request cannot be completed at this moment.
    Diagnostic Message is: No sessions are available
    Possible reasons:
    No sessions are available
    The session pool is suspended
    The session pool is shutdown
    Please resubmit your request later.
    I found another message refering to this same issue in the newsgroup but the
    only answer was to contact support (which I've done). Can anyone point out
    where I've made my mistake?
    TIA
    -Brett

    For future reference.... Jolt connection pools must be specified with
    leading //'s before the ip address. It's always the simple things that bite
    ya.

  • Unexpected Behavior error while creating a connection in IDT

    Hi Everyone,
    I have created a connection on top of a database using ODBC.
    I could able to see the connection in IDT.
    I have mentioned the user name and pw correctly  and tried testing the connection and got the error "unexpected behavior"
    PFA error.
    what could be the reason? any idea?
    Thanks.

    I find this 32-bit vs. 64-bit ODBC somewhat confusing.  I know you aren't dealing with Crystal Reports, but this blog post does provide some clarity.  It has a link to this Microsoft knowledge base article from which I quote...
    A 64-bit version of the Microsoft Windows operating system includes the following versions of the
    Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Data Source Administrator tool (Odbcad32.exe):
    The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
    The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\System32 folder.
    One other warning.  In my experience I have found that you cannot run both the 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC admin tools at the same time.  If you have one running and try and start the other one it will just bring up the one you already had running.
    To make sure I know which instance I am in at any give time I have created a dummy data source that corresponds to the instance; 32-bit or 64-bit.
    Let us know how it goes.

  • Can not create the connection in the enrironment!!

    hello,every one:
    please see the following code:
              Environment *env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
              Connection *conn = env->createConnection(userName,password,connectString);
    try
    //use the conn
              catch (SQLException &ex)

              ev->terminateConnection(cn);
              Environment::terminateEnvironment(ev);
    I have terminated the connection and the environment,then why I can not create the
    connection in the new environment?
    I have tried several times,if you connect the same database as the former,then it
    does not work,but if you connect a new database ,it can create the new connection!
    plus:I don't want to use conection pool .
    Can I have some method to solve the problem?
    Please help me!

  • Create A Connection Pool In the ServletContextListener

    The Specification says that we should create the connection pool in the ServletContextListener. I have the code for creating a connection pool (see below). How do I create it in the ServletContextListener?
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;

  • 11g 64-bit unable to create ODBC connection

    Hello,
    I am currently facing issue related to ODBC connection. Details of configuration is as follows
    OS: Vista 64 Home Premium
    Oracle DB 11g 64bit: ver 11.1.0.6.0,plus the addition of the fix for bug 7389110 (as per release notes)
    ODBC driver location: C:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\db1\BIN\sqora32.dll
    It appears and works well from 32 bit ODBC connection manager. However, it's not visible/available from 64 bit ODBC connection manager. Oracle installation repository appears under 64 bit area ("Program Files") and not under "Program Files (x86)". Assuming it might be a problem with installation I have also tried copying registry entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC with no luck.
    Any help to create ODBC connection is much appreciated
    Thanks,
    Hemant

  • How do I create a connection string to sql server?

    Hi All,
       I am currently connecting to a SQL Server via ODBC DSN connection. I am wondering how do I create a connection string directly to a sql server without a DSN connection?
    Thank you in advance.

    If you have SQL Server or client installed in your machine you can directly connect to SQL server using native connection. When you create new report you can see the option create new connection, here you can see SQL Server. Expand it and enter the connection details where you will be directly connected to SQL Server without ODBC connection.

  • How to Create a connection pool in OSB java callout

    Dear Team,
    In our project, we need read some data from DB, and do corresponding operation. currently, we need setup the connection first, execute the SQL, and close the connection.
    But the concurrency of call is very high, is there a way to create a connection pool, then we can use the connection pool to get the connection and execute the SQL, then return the connection to the pool.
    if connection pool is not available, is there any way to create the connection outside the java callout, that we can just execute the SQL in java callout.
    The OSB version is 11.1.1.6.0
    Thanks.

    Hi Team,
    Thanks for your help.
    What I need is not only the db connection, may be other kind of things, such as read configuration from file...
    If I write the code in java callout with static java method to create and close the connection, each time when request come in, OSB will create a new connection (or read the file), I think it's not the best practice to do this kind of work.
    I think the weblogic is running in JVM, is there any way we can define variables or new object in the JVM directly?

    Hi,
    You cannot connect to an Oracle9iAS environment directly using the connections node. You can only connect to an individual OC4J instance using this technique.
    You need to use Oracle9iAS Distributed Management Configuration (DCM). See JDeveloper Help under Creating Application Server Connections

  • Error while creating relational connection

    HI Experts,
    I used the Information Design Tool to create a relational conncetion to a SAP BW cube. Above this I created the data foundation and then the business layer (universe).
    Creation of connection and universe works, but in the IDT when I click on "Test Connection" or in WebI when i want to create a report a get the following error:

    Sorry Praveen,
    I misunderstood the question i thought you are creating OLAP connection.
    which is not the case and for relational connection you have to use IDT only.
    with respect to your issue, error says issues is with connectivity.
    Can you try to check that BW system is accessible from your local machine or your BO server.
