Creating jpg with text

I am new to ipad world. Need to type a report and save it as an image file that I can upload into our tracking system. Any idea what app would work best? I've bought too many that have not worked.

Have tried to recreate your problem with Mail to Entourage. I used Photoshop to place a jpg in the signature and everything seems to work. At first the jpg was bordered by a hairline at top and bottom but I think I got around that by cutting the whole signature and repasting it back in the "signature building" box. I got the jpg to stick wherever it was inserted - at least it came thru great in Entourage - which is a MS product.
It does still show up as a attachment at the top of the email, but the signature itself remained intact.
Oh, and I also checked: Edit>Attachments>Always Send Windows Friendly Attachments. Don't know if that was any help or not - but it sure wouldn't hurt.

I had to manually put pic in thumbnail and in lightbox. (or is it an other way?)
I also had to put the text under thumbnail manually... but thats ok. To bad i cant group it with the thumbnail.

Creating layouts with text

Is there a way of adding text to a document so it is contained in a text box, like a picture holder in an album layout? I often create posters and fliers and it would be much easier if I could do rather than having to wrap text lines myself.

With the type tool selected you can drag the type cursor
in the document area to create a text box (paragraph text).

Applescript to take a folder of pdfs and create jpgs with high resolution

Hello,
I have a script that creates pdfs from InDesign and puts them in a specific folder on my desktop.
Can someone help me with a script that would let me select that folder of PDF's and create a high res jpg and place them into another folder on my desktop?
Ultimately, I would love it to be one script in the future, but will stay module for now as I am learning.

Creating ScrollView with Text and Image

What is the best way to create a scrollview that should contain Image and Text?
The text and the image date are set dynamically.
Image and Text should be scrollable as one entity (NOT scrollable separately).
I don't really know how to determine the sizes of each elements ...
For example I can't make :
UITextView *tmpTxt = [[UITextView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 320.0f, 480.0f)];
... because I have no height value determined yet as I don't know how long will be the text.

To calculate text size of for example in 15 points, you could use the following type of function.
- (CGSize)calculateSizeOfString:(NSString *)text {
CGSize textSize = [text sizeWithFont:[UIFont systemFontOfSize:15.0] constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(320, 9999) lineBreakMode:UILineBreakModeWordWrap];
return textSize;
Then, you can access the width & height, by querying the value of textSize.width and textSize.height.

Creating frames with text

I am building a music video that is going to be set to stills and frames of text. I am 101 when it comes to FCP. How do you build frames, simple background, different fonts and simple movement of text?

FCP has a rudimentary text generator and a slightly better one called Boris.
If you have FCS 1 or 2 you can use LiveType or Motion for some very neat title animation.
LiveType is not included in FCS 3. Most of its functionality has been incorporated into Motion 4.

How to Trim Rectangle with text to create reflection?

I am realtively new to Illustrator and I am facing a problem that I am hoping some expert here can resolve. I have some text and I have converted it to outlines. Now I want to create shine on it. I want to fill a rectangle with white color and then clip it with text to give reflection effect but I can't figure out how to do it. I have selected my text and rectangle and tried all options in path finder tool but nothing seems to work. Please guide me how can this be done.

If you want to have the colour/colours/colour transition of the rectangle where the text is is nothing outside it, in other words colour the text with the colouring of the rectangle, you may:
Use Live Type over the rectangle, select both, and Object>Clipping Mask>Make.
With outlined type, you have to turn the lettershapes into a Compound Shape first.
As you can see, it is simpler to just use Live Type, and it is editable.

Create survey/poll with text fields

I want to create a survey in a meeting with text field type answers. How would I do this? I am using the hosted version of Connect and saw some reference to a Presenter add-in for PowerPoint, but don't seem have that. We would like to have fields such as:
Participant information (name, contact information
Suggested future topics
What should I use to do this since the Poll Pod obnly allows for multiple choice or multiple answer options and not key-in fields?

Adobe Presenter is only available for the Windows platform. MS Powerpoint for Mac does not allow third-party plug-ins like Presenter.

Rather than do that, which means starting over from scratch, losing all your edits, organisation and so on, why not simply use iPhoto Library Manager to revert the Library to the older version? Easier, less destructive.

If you really want to start over: you can access the Originals folder simply by going to your Pictures Folder and finding the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.

I am able to 'create a new version from original' but when I try to export the original, I only get a .jpg with the XMP file. The original is obviously there but why can't I access it please?

In Aperture 3 when I right click on an image I am able to 'create new version from original' which suggests that the original is there. When I try to export the original I only get a .jpg with the XMP file. These particular images are from 2010, has the RAW file become disconnected somehow? Sorry leonie, 'Use RAW as Original' is not an option for the image shot with the Canon.
Then your Import settings must have been different, when you imported the Canon photos.
You can check, if there is still a hidden raw file somewhere. If the image has been imported as a pair, you should see the "J" badge in Browser and Viewer, if you enable badge overlays. This indicates a pair, with the jpeg as original.
Select one of those images, and then relocate the original files "File > Relocate original" to a folder, where you can inspect it. Use "File > Show in Finder" after ward. Look, don't touch .
Then put it back, using "File > Consolidate".
Do you see your raw files in the folder, or is only a jpeg there?

Reader doesn’t create pdf files. You can use Acrobat (ask in that forum) to create pdfs. You can subscribe to the Adobe PDF Pack which has a create pdf functionality (please ask in that forum), or you can use a third party utility such as ghostscript, cutepdf, or Microsoft’s own PDF creation capability. For third party pdf creation you will need to ask in a forum dedicated to that software as fellow users of Reader are unlikely to have the knowledge to help.

Another option is that you have a trigger on table NOTES that generates a new note_id even for an update.

Everythiunk works fine but I can not create text-elements (from the head) with this bapi.
I know that I have to use the table "ORDER_TEXT" but I do not know how to fill this table.

yes, you have to fill the order_text table. The following fields you have to fill:
DOC_NUMBER
-> not to fill, let it blank
ITM_NUMBER
-> if you want to create a header-text then fill ITM_NUMBER with '000000'
-> if you want to create a position-text then fill the related position-number '000010' or '000020'....
TEXT_ID
-> fill this field with the text-id for which you want to create the text.
-> The text-id must be defined in your customizing
LANGU
-> set the language for the text: 'E' or 'D' or......
LANGU_ISO
-> let it blank
FORMAT_COL
-> set a star (*) if you want to have the standard-format. If you have a special format defined in SapScript or in a Style you can set this one.
TEXT_LINE
-> fill in the text
FUNCTION
-> let it blank

Problem with blob column index created using Oracle Text.

Hi,
I'm running Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.1.0 standard edition one, on windows server 2003 R2 x64.
I have a table with a blob column which contains pdf document.
Then, I create an index using the following script so that I can do fulltext search using Oracle Text.
CREATE INDEX DMCS.T_DMCS_FILE_DF_FILE_IDX ON DMCS.T_DMCS_FILE
(DF_FILE)
INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT
PARAMETERS('DATASTORE CTXSYS.DEFAULT_DATASTORE');
However, the index is not searchable and I check the following tables created by database for my index and found them to be empty as well !!

I wonder what's wrong with it.
My user has been granted the ctx_app role and I have other tables that store plain text which I use Oracle Text are fine. I even output the blob column and save as pdf file and they are fine.
However the database seems like not indexing my blob column although the index can be created without error.
Please advise.

The situation is I have already loaded a few pdf document into the table's blob column.
After I create the Oracle text index on this blob column, I find the system generated index tables listed in my earlier posting are empty, except for the 4th table.
Normally we'll see words inside the table where those are the words indexed by oracle text on my document.
As a result, no matter how i search for the index using select statement with contains operator, it will not give me any result.
I feel weird why the blob is not indexed. The content of the blob are actually valid because I tested this by export the content back to pdf and I can still view and search within the pdf.
