Creating library of slides

Question

We create a lot of presentations using Keynote that contain slides that are duplicated throughout different presentation. So each time we create a new presentation we sometimes have to recreate or find/copy slides that we have used in past presentations. Is there some way to create a library of slides so that new presentations can link to these slides instead of having to reproduce them each time? We would like to do this for two reasons. The first reason is to prevent having to update the same slide in multiple presentations. The second reason is to help in updating. If we want to update a slide we would like to do it once in the library and then all the presentations that link to that slide would use the updated version.

Sure.
1. In your primary presentation, on the slide you want to launch FROM, select some object (it can be a shape, a text box, or something else.).
2. With the object selected, go to the inspector and select the hyperlink page (the one with the curved arrow in the blue circle.)
3. Check the "Enable as a hyperlink" box.
4. Use drop-down menu and select "Keynote file." This will open a dialog box, and you navigate to the presentation you wan to use as your boiler plate. Now you are linked to the new file.
5. When you play your presentation, if you click on the object you had selected, it will open the target file at it's first slide and continue as that were the next slide in your primary presentation.
6. If you want to go back to the primary presentation, you need to repeat the process in the second presentation. If you do that, it will bounce you back still in presentation mode.
7. As I said before, if you go between files, it will not let you select a specific slide in the target presentation. You can solve that by creating hyperlinks on the first slide of the presentation. But in this case, you tell it which slide you want to go to.
This is an extra step, but it seems to be the only way to make it work.
