Creating links within a photo gallery

I created a few albums and I want to know how to create links for specific photos. For example, I would like to link from one of the photos in gallery view to a larger version of that photo. I created another page with the larger photo but I cant create a "click here" link within the description. The inspector allows me to chose create hypertext link after highlighting text but it doesnt work. Also, if I create a link outside of the description the link appears on every page in that gallery. I also noticed that the link I created on the main gallery page appears on every page. Further, I would like the link to open in a new window.

After I published the site the link I created in the photo description works in the album view but not when you're viewing the photo itself.
Any suggestions?

I want to add link to my iphone app as 'Buy Now' and on clicking this link it will directly link to our company's website where users can buy our apps.
Is this feature possible in iphone and are there some restrictions in doing so ?.

Apps for the iPhone can only be sold through the iTunes Store. You are not allowed to host apps on your own site, if that's what you mean, nor could they be loaded on any customer's iPhone without the customer jailbreaking the iPhone.
If, however, what you mean is that you want to have a link on your web site to your app in the iTunes Store, you can use the Link Maker tool that Apple provides for the purpose:

You could similarly include such a link within one of your apps to point to another of your apps, I would assume, again assuming that the app is in the iTunes Store.

Can Contribute add, delete, edit links in this photo gallery?

I'm not having much luck getting Contribute CS4 to delete or add photos, with correct nav, to the gallery below.
It takes them out, leaving a blank page, or adds them in, not linked to the buttons. Replacing the photo with a new photo also gives a blank page.

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Now try editing them again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Creating categories for the photo gallery?

is it possible to separate the links into categories? (-i'm
using the plain text links instead of the drop down menu)
for example, my site has nature photos, and i'd like to break
them down into different sections, such as:
-Forests (the category)
--forest 1 (the links to the different forest galleries)
--forest 2
--forest 3
and then another category after that, say,
-Animals (the category)
--birds (the links to the galleries)
--insects
--mammals
and so forth
any ideas on how to do this?

You could include the search window on your blog site. Then each person could search the category they are interested in. You could even create a text window with sample categories listed. I know it's not what you are looking for, but it's a quasi work around to get something like what you want.

I can not create link within common foldesr

If the pictures are in your Camera Roll album, just tap the picture to bring up the menu and then tap the trash can.
If the pictures are in your Photo Library album, you have to remove the pictures from the folder on your computer that you're syncing your iPhone to, then re-sync the iPhone.

Issues creating scrolling images for photo gallery

Hi all,
I'm attempting to create a thing where my thumbnails will scroll across the bottom of the page, like when you put the mouse on the right it scrolls right and visa versa. I found a great tuturial only to realize halfway in that it was done with Flash 8, therefore apparently quite a few things have changed. And this is my first stab at Flash!
The first place i noticed is when my motion tween didn't work, so I instead created a 'Classic Tween' finding it had the same affect as 'Motion Tween' in Flash 8, however as I progressed in the tut, I don't think the results were the same.
My images scroll but after creating a _xmouse<40){........prevFrame, there only continue to scroll, the prevFrame command doesn't work!
So to my question...does anyone know of a good tut for this type of thing for CS5? OR, is anyone really familiar with both Flash 8 and CS5 and could help me pinpoint the differences for what I'm attempting to create?

Creating Links Within Documents

Hello, You know those emails that we get from stores with images that you click on and each image opens a different link? How do you make these documents in Appleworks? Thanks, Jerry P.S. I've gotten as far as making a .cwk file, which works fine once it opens up in Appleworks but of course when I send it via email you don't see the image, merely an Appleworks file icon and you have to open it up with Appleworks in order to view the image and open the link.

I am using OS 10.6.8. I have a collection of photos with people tags created in Windows Life Photo Gallery. Can I read them in iPhoto?

Depends on what "people tags" are.
If they are keywords, written to the correct fields of the IPTC metadata, then yes. If this is a Faces-like feature then no, there is no way to share such data in any system.

Creating a photo gallery / portfolio for a client to manage (CMS & Business Catalyst)

I have been asked to create a website for a client, the client is a photographer and wants a site to promote her nursery school photography business. She would like to be able to manage the site herself using the BC dashboard, uploading images as and when needed. I use Muse to create sites and have informed the client that for any kind of CMS they need to host with Business Catalyst.
My issue is creating a relatively limitless photo gallery / portfolio. As I understand it a client can upload and change images on their site using the BC dashboard, providing there is a slot available to do so. I believe Business Catalyst has a photo gallery module on their Webmarketing package, would this be what I am looking for? Failing that are there any good workarounds available for my client using Muse alone?
In the future the client is looking for secure zones within the site and also an online ordering system, but right now it's a fairly simple promotional site with a good gallery of pics.
I posted a similar question last week, someone very kindly suggested Smugmug, I looked into a separate solution (including Smugmug) but it's not suitable in this case and I would rather stick to Muse, BC and Adobe.

Yes, you can use Photo Gallery module, where your client would be able to upload new images from site backend and update the module. Also with photo gallery there are other parameters which they can use for image display.

Is it possible to create a Photo Gallery DVD with downloadable content?

I am looking for a way to create a photo gallery, distribute it via DVD, and have the end user be able to download the photos from within the photo gallery. This would function exactly like the iPhoto web galleries, but would be distributed on DVD rather than posted to the web. Is this possible? I am looking for a way for a user to download the photos, in low res and high res, from within the DVD player.

My first suggestion is to use Apple's Pro apps (ie, DVDSP) if you plan to use this DVD commercially. You'll get far better results and you will also be able to meet nearly all of the above objectives.
If on the other hand you don't have the time to learn apple's pro apps which does have a large learning curve compared to the i-apps, and you are currently working with a shoestring budget, then you can meet at least some of these objectives within iDvd by adding your content to the Dvd rom section of the Dvd. The app that one uses to play the slideshow from this data section of the Dvd depends largely on the available apps on the host computer system having access to this data in terms of what software is available to play its content. Hope this makes sense but if not, just come on back. Good luck.

Links get broken after adding photo gallery

I discovered a strange problem when creating a website with photo gallery.
I have a menubar with static links to all pages of the website which worked perfectly. Now after adding a photo grid the links of the my menubar are not clickable at all. This problem exists only if the photo thumbnail row is displayed. Do you have any ideas how to disable the thumbnail row automatically or any other workaround for this bug?

It is not a matter of my wanting to overcomplicate things. It is a client request. They want to be able to send out photos of their products on CD/DVD, have the images pop up in a nice looking preview (slideshow) and allow the user to have the ability to download the photos, low res or high res, to their desktop from within the preview (slideshow).
This is a quite common approach for equipment manufacturers who are trying to simplify the process for their end users.
