Creating logical systems in EP7

hello,
We have created a logical system that conects to a backend. All portal iviews point to this logical system.
We have to change the properties of the logical system but before do this step we need to proove that works correctly without changing the final users preview.
So we should create a new logical system and duplicate all iviews to point to this new logical system and to prove them.
But We prefer not to duplicate all portal content... Is other way to do this????

A logical system is used to identify an individual client in a system, for ALE communication between SAP systems. That's why you see a field for 'logical system' in the client master data in SCC4 (table T000).

Create Logical System in R/3 system

Hi all,
I am trying to define logical system for xMII server in R/3 system using SALE transaction. But the logical system for xMII server doesn't already exist. So I have chosen to create one. Seems there is format like <sys_id>'CLNT'<client>.
1) How to create logical system for xMII server in this format?
2) How does R/3 know in which host xMII server is running? Do we specify that somewhere? Is there any other configurations for linking xMII host and logical system?
I am new to xMII and so not aware of the steps. Please help me out.

Welcome to xMII.
Though i nvr used such things from the SAP R/3 system side, i think the logical system name format must be something like SAPSYS<Number> for SAP Connection BUSCON<Number> for Business Connector. After hving defined the Logical System in R/3 System, u need to configure the SAP Business Connector Interface Action in xMII-based Business Logic Services.

How to create Logical System for ALE?

Hi All,
I'm an abaper and want to create Logical System For ALE. When i tried to make it using Tcode: SALE, msg appears that "Caution: The table is cross-client", when clik on continue button it shows "You are not allowed to change cross-client customizing". Help with proper documentation.

what you did is correct but you don't have the authorization for cross-clients in your sever.First take the authorization for cross-clients then follw the steps

SAP* or DDIC being unable to create logical system in SAP PI 7.1

greetings !
I am not a basis person.
I had freshly installed PI 7.1. I was finding that I am being unable to create new logical systems . I tried logging to both clients 000 and 001 using sap* , ddic , and pisuper . pisuper does not even have the authorization to execute SALE . SAP* and DDIC can excecute SALE but unable to create or assign clients.
I reinstalled my system from scratch thinking i must have errored on something, as creating clients is a very simple task. but even the new PI 7.1 gives me the same problem.
is something wrong with my installation , or there are additional roles/authrizations I need to assign to a user.

Besides PISUPER other users are also created some of the are PIAFUSER, PIDIRUSER, PIRWBUSER etc. Every user has a specific purpose in a PI system. For activities like creating logical system etc. own id's should be used.
There are couple of guides out there which explains in detail the purpose of all the users in PI system.

No, you don't need to create Logical Systems to define RFC destinations.

Hi,
First make your client modifiable, then follow the below procedure.
Go to transaction SALE or BD54 -> Sending and Receiving Systems -> Logical Systems -> You'll see "Define Logical System" and "Assign Client to Logical System".

ERROR- "Creating Logical system through BD54"

I need to create a new client as a copy of an existing client. Before that I need to create a Logical System through DB54. But when I am executing the T-Code BD54 the system gives an information popup saying u201CChanges to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permittedu201D and there is no new entry tab in BD54. What can be the solution?

Now when i am clicking on start immediately/schedule as backgroung job the following error appears. I have created the RFC also and its working properly. 600 is the newly created client.

The system could not find any suitable RFC destination for processing

This note also appears if an RFC destination was found but this does not

The partner profile to be maintained in we20 (in backend systems -ECC/CRM etc) should be based on logical system for the sender.
For ex: Src (File) -> PI -> Tgt(ECC)
In SLD you have created Technical System(TS) and Business System(say BS) for Src. Also a Logical System name (Say LSNAME) is associated with BS.
In ECC, goto tcode - sale, create a logical system of name LSNAME. Now goto we20 and create a partner profile of name LSNAME. Provide the message type of Idoc in the required place.

Problem while creating Logical System Connecting Portal to ECC (Backend)...

- I am trying to connect portal to ABAP so that from portal's iView i could access any ABAP T-Code (e.g. SE37).
- Secondly, just wanted to let you know that i am not implementing SSO.
- I used iView's SAP GUI Type = SAP GUI for HTML.
I made following 3 tests, out of which ITS connection is failed. and while previewing my iView i m not able to connect with ABAP and giving error: "The URL http://192.168.1.104:8001/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui was not called due to an error."
Could u pls guide me what to do.... And i mentioned everything at the bottom in detail.

1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.

Creating and assigning logical systems foe connecting BW to R/3

Hello ABAP Pundits,
I have to connect R/3 (sender) to BW (reciever). So I guess, I need to create logical systems in both BW and R/3.
So does this mean that I have to create two logical systems on R/3 and two logical systems on B/W ?
Do I need to do assignement of these newly created logical systems on both R/3 and BW separately ?

Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: MUSA_MODEL_DATA

I am facing a big problem...I have created WebDynpro Application & when I am running that application from WebDynpro, it's showing the page but giving me the error message as:-
Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: MUSA_MODEL_DATA - Model: class com.bcone.bcool.musa.model.MUSABAPI. Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical system name properly for this model!
What do I do? what connections I have to check?

Hey if you are connecting to SAP system making use of adaptive RFC model you hav to create logical systems(JCOs).So while creating the model you have to specify 2 logical system names(one for model data or on for the meta data).If you have not created the JCOs or if the JCOs are not active then you are going to get this type of error.To activate those JCOs ask your administrator to activate the JCO for metadata of your application.If you are having proper credentials then log on to portal
System administration>webdynpro>expand the local directory>select your project>click on maintain JCOs and activate the JCO for the metadata.
Or else change the logical system in your application.

LOGICAL SYSTEM IS MISSING CREATE ?

I installed the BW in the system.but i cont login the BW system.Its shows error message'system ecc client 001 as no logical name.Naming takes place through assaignment to a logical system you must have to create another logical system before you can do this to continue,now assaign the logical system to this system and client'.Please tell me the answer asap.

When I create a new logical system, and T-code is BD54. My user profile is SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. The system pop-up the Warning message as follow:
You are not allowed to change cross-client customizing.

Hi Feng, Welcome to SDN.....

SAP_BC_BASIS_ADMIN - Assign this Role to your User name in SU01 and then try creating Logical system, Also check the Client setting in SCC4(such as the client Role, Cross-client object changes...). Hope this Resolves your issue.
