Creating mov with 6 or more mono audio channels

Hello,
I have FCP X and I would like to create a mov from 1 video and 6 or more mono wav files. In FCP 7 it was possible to do this by changing the number of "Audio outputs" to 6 or more (dual-mono) in the "Sequence" settings window. How can one achieve the same output with FCP X?
Thanks

I was able to generate a mov with 6 mono audio tracks by:
Adding new audio roles 1-6
Assigning these roles to the audio clips on the timeline
Changing the "Roles as" field under "File | Share | Master File | Settings" to "Multitrack QuickTime Movie" and then choosing "Mono" for each audio track.
One difficulty was that the scroll bar for this portion becomes inaccessible/hidden due the "Delete" icon that pops up to the right of each audio track. In my case, it would be impossible to modify these setting once the number of tracks exceeds 6.

• How can I get 2 Mono Audio Channels in, 2 Identical Mono Channels Out?

I use Premiere CS6. Most of my work requires simply editing with one audio track used for the on-camera talent's microphone, adding another track for music, and then outputting BOTH of those tracks to the right channel as a mixed mono output AND the same for the left channel (an identical mixed mono output).
Otherwise, I have had problems in the past based on a user's particular playback settings/hardware/etc., and they may only be able to hear one channel or the other (only hearing voice or music). If I can put a mono mix on the right and a mono mix on the left, then I am covered.
SO HERE'S THE QUESTION: What settings do I need to adjust to accomplish this, and how do I set this up as a default for future projects? (I realize that Premiere CS6 has a lot of flexibility when it comes to controlling audio, however, I have read several help articles, and cannot find the answer to this simple question.)

You're overthinking this. A normal stereo mix with the tracks centered will do the trick. There are several ways to center the audio. Option 3 is probably the most efficient.

• Is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 suitable for creating movies with sound?

Hi
Here is what I want to do:
make a movie of me teaching a class and put in online
(for an online course is one use);
be able to edit video;
add photos in;
create podcasts and export say to mp3 and other types,
automatically generating RSS feeds;
be able to add the sound track to any video;
I think that Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 will do the job but I am
asking on this forum if it will do all the above?
Also, how would this software sync the sound created by me talking about what I currently have on the blackboard with the video?
Thanks,
bubbly250

Since this is really about Premiere Elements, I'd crosspost this in their forum, too, bubbly250, since there are more people working with video there than here:

Good luck!

• Urgent: iMovie creating movies with random sounds throughout

When exporting my iMovie project - which I put together clips from various documentaries, muted them, and put my voice over in mp3 files... random sounds appear at various points - these are the sounds from one video that I've muted.
The sounds do not even appear during the playing of this video - but others way before it.
None of this shows up in the preview, and I've tried saving it as both as the highest definition - 1080p, as well as the 'tiny' movie (but even this takes 10 minutes to compile).
The stange sounds appear at exactly the same place in both versions... I even changed a few things before the second 'tiny' export, but it was still the same.
The original movie files were high quality, of various formats - mp4, avi, .mov, etc.
The particular file that the audio is coming from is an mp4 file (1920x1080 originally)- it has been muted in the video, and in the Events browser.
I downloaded this video from YouTube, via www.keepvid.com - it's called: Coral reefs and climate change- A message for Copenhagen, and can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SdDiHbG1tY&hd=1
I have restarted my computer, iMovie, everything...
...this video is due ASAP, and I'm not sure how to solve this irritating issue.
I hope to hear from you!!

There have been numerous posts about audio issues. In almost all cases, the user has used speeds other than the presets. Changing to the presets fixed the problem. It's possibly a bug in iMovie, or a less than stellar design with the slider - maybe a pop-up box would have been better.
If you don't want to mess with your project, then duplicate it (File>Duplicate Project). Then make the changes in the duplicate.

• Exporting movie with AC3 5.1 Surround audio

Hello, I'm trying to join a QT movie file containing the HD ProRes 422 HQ video content to a ready-made AC3 5.1 file created by the sound editor on Pro-Tools. The files are synchronous and I'm just trying to avoid converting the ProRes video into an HD Mpeg, which is how I normally get the two tracks together. Is there any way to do this with either Final Cut or Compressor which would yield a Quicktime movie and avoid an Mpeg? Unfortunately QT Player Pro doesn't seem to allow adding AC3 content to a movie, which is a shame. Any ideas?
Thanks!

• IMovie capable of creating movies with fixed&movable elements at same time?

Dear all,
I would like to create a video in iMovie in the style of this mixkini tool:
http://www.lascana.de/bademode/mixkini/lascana.html
It has to be a complete movie without clicking anything. Basically the background, the silhouette and the lower line with the bikinis shouldn't move. Only the upper line with the bikinis so that you can get an impression of the different mixing-possibilities.
I have all the particular parts. Is there a way to do that? I would be very thankful for help!
Best wishes
Finchen

if you just want the top to fade in and out you could prob save the bikini top images as png's with transparent bg and import it into the movie that way
but to have a solid scroll of the bikini's i dont think so

• RM06IBI0 Create Inforcords with two or more P000

Hi everybody
I want to create or modify an info record with program RM06IBI0.
The problem is that I must load two gross price conditions
(P000) with a diferent validity for every condition in the same info record.
How Can I do it at the same time, in the same transaction ME11 or ME12?
thanks in advance

If you read the documentation of this program, you will find the following text.
The following records only occur if conditions are to be maintained:
For each conditions record (condition type), a record (BKONP, record type 2, table name KONP).
For each line of a quantity scale, a record (BKONM, record type 2, table name KONM).
For each line of a value scale, a record (BKONW, record type 2, table name KONW).
That is what you may need to do.

• Creating movie with video from camcorder and an I Phone

How do you add an I Phone video to I Movie in an existing project filmed with a camcorder and get the same ratio resolution for each clip?

Howdy, freekatie!
This can be achieved by cropping the clips that aren't the same ratio. Further information can be found here:
iMovie '11: Crop video clips or still images
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2232
You can crop still images and video in your projects to get a close-up of a subject of interest or to eliminate undesirable parts.
Cropping is also useful if you have photos or video clips that don’t fit within your project’s aspect ratio. In such a case, you can crop them so that they fit.
Best regards and happy movie-making!

• How do you export 4 discrete mono audio tracks with video from Adobe Premiere Pro 4/Adobe Encoder?

I've posted this question in different terms a few times and have not had an answer. I can't find the answer on the Premiere Pro support site either (which makes me think that a simple solution doesn't exist)
We use adobe premiere pro 4. We capture DVCAM tapes with 4 discrete audio channels. When we export the video using adobe encoder, the result is stereo tracks with the discrete audio channels mixed together which is completly useless to us. When I select Mono for the output settings, two channels of audio are mixed into one audio channel. Also useless.
When capturing the clip, we always use the mono timeline and modify the clips to mono. We can edit the discrete audio channels but when we export the video, the audio is mixed down.
this is the problem. Each of our 4 audio channels contain a different language of dialogue. When exported, these 4 get mixed down to 2 mixed channels blending of course the language.
Can Premiere Pro 4 export discrete mono audio channels? How do you do it?
Does version 6 have the ability to export 4 discrete mono channels?

Hi Steve,
Important info is missing from your post - what format are you wanting to export to, and for what purpose? We need to know how the exported file is intended to be used. Who's going to view it, using what gear? Is it for another editor to work with? End user viewing?
Thanks

• How to preserve multiple mono audio in Multicam sequence?

I'm a new FCP7 -> Premiere convert and seem to be unable to preserve true multiple mono audio in a multicam source sequence.
I have 3 video clips, each with 2 mono audio channels, interpreted correctly as multiple mono (showing as "2 Mon" in Project panel).
When I "create multi-camera source sequence" in project panel using the 3 clips, Premiere Pro Cs6 is creating a sequence with a Master audio track that is stereo. I cannot find a way to converting the stereo Master audio track to multiple mono audio track after the sequence is automatically created. When I look in "Sequence Settings" of the multi-cam sequence, there is no "Tracks" tab that is used to set this up in a new sequence. I have also tried switching all the preferences/audio settings to Mono with no luck.
Note: This problem is NOT related to enabling/disabling the additional audio tracks in the multicam sequence, I understand that only track 1 of a multi-cam sequence is enabled by default.
Thanks,
Robert

When I "create multi-camera source sequence" in project panel using the 3 clips
Don't do that. Do things "old school". Meaning you manually create an "Original" sequence for the 3 clips, add them in and sync them up. You then manually create a second "Multicam" sequence and nest the "Original" into that. Right click and Enable Multicam.
Doing it that way, you'll have the option to specify what type of audio tracks you want for each sequence.

• Stereo Audio channel turns to mono when I close and re-open the project

Hi there,
when I import a random video file with stereo audio channels and put it to the timeline (after peaking), everything works allright - the recording level window shows me the left and the right audio channel.
But when I save and close the project in order to re-open it directly, I only got a mono audio channel (left) and the stereo is away in my timeline and recording level window. The preview of the imported video ist still ok with stereo sound.
Is this a bug ? What can do? Please help me.
Thanks a lot

• 4 audio channels in Premiere Pro CS5.5

I have recorded with PMW320, which writes to 4 audio channels separate. When I put the timeline of Premiere Pro CS4, the channels come apart. In Premiere CS5.5 does not happen, being allocated only one channel. How to change that?

Jim thanks for listening. The same file card XCAM removed, placed in timeline premiere CS4, appears the 4 separate mono audio channels, quabdo put in timeline premiere CS5.5, it arquivoMP4, so put a audio channel.

• Audio channels out of sync

I suddenly have one audio channel that is out of synch with the other audio channel. . The out of sync audio channel shows +5.22. The other audio channel does not show it is out of sync, but the video channel shows the same red +5.22.
I tried to lock the vidio and the clear audio channel, and then select the out of sync audio channel to move it into sync with the other audio channel. However, the locked channels were also selected so I could not move only the out of sync audio channel.
I hope I have explained this clearly enough. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Piero's is the way to do it. It sounds as if the sequence has been badly messed up. You may need to switch off stereo pairs if that's on, or switch off linked selection, move the items into sync. If there are items in the way you may have to spread items onto multiple tracks.
All the best,
Tom

• Pro clips in express HD loose audio channel 1.

Has anyone else struck this.
Clips batch captured in FCP5 with 2 mono audio channels when imported into ExpressHD have only one channel of audio (channel 2) available. Quicktime shows 2 channels are present but ExpressHD cannot see channel 1. I emailed support at apple but have yet to receive a reply.

• Seperate Audio Channels

Okay, almost sorted Rewire now, just need to know if there's a way of bringing each Reason module into Logic each with its own pair of audio channels. This way each Reason module would be able to make use of different Logic effects plugins but at the same time the midi data would still remain editable.
Thanks in advance,
si

Yes, it's possible. In Reason, you can connect each device to separate outs at the top of the main window (there's 64 outputs available). In Logic, create Rewire audio channels and select the right inputs for each one.
