Creating movement type

is it possible in SAP-PP module or in MM module to create a movement type and cutomize it.

In OMJJ you can create a new movement type as per your requirement.
Its better to copy the existing movement type and then clone it as per your requirement.

Hi Ram,
You can create Movement type in OMJJ transaction by Copying the existing mvt types. Once you copy the mvt type all the details from the existing mvt type will be copied to new mvt type.
Based on the Account grouping the system will identify the G/L accounts. You can check this OMJJ transaction you will get better idea.
One more thing why you need the new mvt type, if it is really required then go for new mvt type otherwise use the SAP standard Mvt type which will serve all the purposes.

Create movement types

Hi all,
I need to create 2 new movement types similar to 961 and 962. These movements are used in tcode MB1C for inventory adjustment. How can i create these new ones ? Have anyone come across creating the new movement types ?

the easiest way to find out how a account is determined in in the simulation in transaction OMWB.
enter your plant, your material and the movement type and hit enter
then select one of the lines below the movement type and click the account assignment button
alternative you can use se16 at table T030 and search with the GL account the combinations when this GL account is used.
based on the info you get you can probably setup the new account determination using your new account modifier

Before Movement type 321, 322 should be created?

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me that before creating movement type 321 for material. Movement type 322 should be created?
I am trying to create movement type 321 for material through MB1B, but its giving me error "Deficit Quantity" I dont understand what is the exact problem.
Please anybody can help me on this. any docs, tutorials will also be helpful.
I searched old threads in SDN, but couldnt find a exact solution.

even with 1 quantity its giving the same error.
Deficit of BA Stck.in qual.insp 1 EA : 16289 1100 WHMC BAT111
321 is movement type to move goods from quality to unrestricted and
322 is movement type to move goods from unrestricted to qualityright??
so, for moving stock from quality to unrestricted there should be enough stock available in quality.
I think before 321 we should do 322 if there is not enough stock
am i right??

CREATION OF NEW MOVEMENT TYPE

I have a query regarding creation of a new Movement Type.
Is there any specific rule to start creating new Movement Type only with numbers starting with digit 9 or we can consider numbers starting with any digits.

Hi,
You can create Movement Type with numbers starting with digit 9 or beginning with Z or X or Y alphabet folllowd by number ( for example: Z01,Z02,Z09 etc)which you can differentiate standard Movement Type with customised Movement Type .

Steps To Create New Movement Types in SAP:
How to create movement types? What are the steps involved? When will you recommend a new movement type?
Companies may request a new movement type to differentiate between the inventory posting transaction. For example, 551 scrap movement type. Some company may request to have it as 551 for Internal Scrap and Z51 for External Scrap.
Copy, Change Movement Types
4.6x
Assuming I want to create another movement type Z01.
Transaction OMJJ
Select the standard movement type 201
Click copy, then overwrite the 201 with Z01
Click the Enter button, then click Copy all
Select the new movement type Z01
On the left hand column screen, click Reversal/follow-on movement
Fill in the reversal movement type
For the rest of the options, you can leave it alone or change it depending on your requirement

Valuation Class is determines your type of matrial Following are the some example of valuation class
3000---WP Raw material
7900--WPSemifinished material
7920--Finished material
These are the some exmaples.
Please set material type - valuation class settings in:
SPRO > Material Management > Valuation and Account Assignment > Define Valuation Classes

Excise invoice created using J1IS and movement type 122

Hello
Can you please suggest whether we need to run J2IUN for the following process in order to show the debit entries in extracted RG23A PART2 register.
1. Returning the material with refernce to the original Goods receipt document (101) using MIGO movement type 122. Original GR document posted with capture and Post excise option.
2. Creaqting the Excise inoivce using J1IS with reference to material document created in Step 1
3. Releasing to accounting/ Posting the excise invoice in J1IV.
4. Extracting the Register RG23A PART 2 using J2I5
5. Print excise register using J2I6....But the debit entry not shown in register
Can you please confirm whether the debit entries in register will be updated after the Montly utilization J2IUN run ( as this process is a indirect sale process)

The accounting entries for 122 is as per standard.
for the excise invoice
Cenvat Clearing         Dr.
Cenvat Account        Cr.
for utilization
Cenvat payable          Dr.
Cenvat Account         Cr.
PLA Account              Cr.
and for MIRO it would be the standard.
you can refer the note 542862 for cin related accounting entries.

Not able to create a material document with movement type 103

I am not able to create a material document with movement type 103,
The system is populating the value as 101 .
How do I create a matdoc with movement type 103?

What is the error you receive? Please specify with message number.
On MIGO, you need to change the default value mvmt type value to 103 before you enter the PO number to be able to do 103.
Once this defualt value is set, you can enter the PO and item number in the document number fields and proceed with 103.
But you cannot change the mvmt type for already entered items from 101-103 or vice versa.
I think the 101-103 and 103-101 mvmt type conversion message is standard error message

Error while creating new Movement Type

All SAP Gurus,
We are creating a new Z movement type by copying the 101 movement type (T code: OMJJ).
But system is not allowing to create a new movement type and giving an error message as 'Specify the key within the work area'.
We are unable to create a new movement type due to this error.
Please help...................

Function modules to create a movement type 105 and 104

Hi folks,
I have created a custom screen and attached to MIGO Transaction. If my user enter data and click 'PASS' on my screen, a movement type 105 to be triggered in back ground. And if he click 'FAIL', movement type 104 need to be triggered. is there any BAPI or Function Module to create goods movement type. I have searched some function modules in SE37 and found some stuff. But i am confused which one to use...Could you pls guide me regarding this...
for ur information, i am thinking to use these FM's

Movement Types - how to change determined Movement Types in Delivery Creati

Is there any way "material movement type" can be changed once its been determined in the delivery, or durin delivery creation (after creating the sales order)
is it possible to override the material movement type creation, (apart from the control which we get by the schedule item category field).
Is there any way to change the material movement type in a deliver document ?

That could be correct. If all the conditions are known at the time of sales order then you can try and use the MV45AFZZ and form to move data into VBEP and move a different schedule line category that has a different movement type. Please check this option and it would work. We used it in a couple of situations in our client here. You need to configure and assign the schedule line category as manual one in the config.
