Creating new apple id with old email address

Our old G5 has crashed and burned, we just bought a new 27" Imac and are trying to register it but It's been so long that I dont remember the apple id. When I try to start from scratch and create a new id it keeps telling me the email address is already in use.
If I request the lost id sent to me via email, it wont work because the computer where the email resides can't connect to the internet. If I try to answer security questions it tells me the birthdate doesn't match their records ( I don't know how that could be)
I'm at a total standstill
Any ideas??

If I request the lost id sent to me via email, it wont work because the computer where the email resides can't connect to the internet.

  • HT5622 I am trying to update the apps on my MacBook with my Apple ID, the one I created long ago when I got my first iPhone. Although when I first got my new MacBook I created a new apple ID with a email address I hardly ever use, and a password I can't r

Yes, well I ignoratly created a second Apple ID when first setting up my MacBook, and when I go to the "My Purchases" in my Mac App Store, and it shows the apps I've uninstalled, and the apps that are available to update. When I tap on the update icon/text I get a drop down notice, telling me that I have other apps that can be updated using the Apple ID I used to purchase the *apps* in Mac App Store. As far as I am aware  I have only used ONE  Apple ID to purchase Mac Apps, iPhone Apps, and iTunes. I have tried MANY, MANY times to find my second Apple ID. I've gone through and used every email address I making sure non of them were my second Apple Id's . SO is there anyway that I can update my apps using my main apple ID?
    Best Regards,
    Anna Grace Y.

What are the names of the apps?
So you are saying that you only ever used the old Apple ID to buy content on the iPhone and the Mac? You never used the new Apple ID to buy content for the Mac?

  • HT1918 i create new apple id with my email then i need to purchase for free but i sign my apple id the store is we have credit card and no none credit card how can i use my apple id now

    give me an example please...
when you sign up a new apple id then after you finish and you want to use your apple id to sign in your iphone your account is you need to review then after you click the review you need to continue to set up your country then you must be agree the terms and conditions and apple privacy policy after that i click agree your account is must be see no none payment method and i dont have use a credit card because is a new apple id.

What do you mean 'give me an example please' ? And 'dont have use a credit card' ?
Unless you follow the instructions on this page when creating a new account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then you will need to enter credit card details before the account can be used in the store.
If you don't have a credit card then you will need to create a new account, but this time follow the instructions on that HT2534 page when creating it. If you want to use the same email address then you will need to replace it on that account first e.g. via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, http://appleid.apple.com, or by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone.

  • Somebody created an Apple ID with my email address!

    Hi all!
I've received a few emails from Apple: the first one was asking me to verify my email address, the subsequent ones informed me that someone was accessing iCloud, FaceTime and iMessage from an iPhone 4s, using my Apple ID.
After a few minutes, another email asked me to reset my Apple ID password, and I immediately did.
then the first thing I did was to register to the support community to seek for help.
I'm not biased against Apple, but:
    - I don't own any Apple device, and don't actually plan to buy any.
    - I don't need an Apple ID, since I don't use any of the services for which it is required (at least so far).
On the other hand, I don't want my ID to be suspended, since I don't know if I will ever need one, in the future (afaik, you cannot reuse an email address to create an ID once it has already been used to create another account).
My understanding is that someone has bought his first Apple product and then has erroneously inserted *my* email address while creating his (mine, in fact!)  Apple ID.
    My questions is:
Is changing the password enough for me to be sure that noone else can use my ID? Or is there anything else that I can/must/should do?
    thanks in advance!

Contact AppleCare (or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

  • I Can't create an apple ID with my email address, says its already used

The email account is not connected to any of my other apple ids

First and foremost, I agree with gdgmacguy about using the support link. That is most likely your best bet. But, I have read posts from other users that had issues with their Apple ID that you must enter your address exactly like it appears on you credit card statement. Don't abbreviate "street" or "road" - things like that - unless that matches your statement exactly. Have you moved and maybe not changed your address on your credit card statement yet...??
I am not saying that is the reason you can't create the ID, but it has been an issue for some. You could try what I suggest, but the support link is the best way to go if you can't get it accomplished on your own.

  • How do you create two apple ids for one email address.

I bought two i pads for my kids. Since we have just one email address, everytime I try to create a new apple id it says I already have one. They need separate ids so their friends can facetime with one and not the other. Can't figure out how to create two apple ids with one email address.

    Donnathemom wrote:
Well any ideas on how to solve this problem? When my daughter does facetime with someone it says she's Wyatt. She's not real happy about that.
Get her an email address, even if she never uses it.  They're free and available almost everywhere.  The only requirement is that the address be a valid one.
    Edit...
You can even use an "alias" of yours.  That's a fake address that actually sends everything to you.  Check with your current email supplier.

  • How to create a shared Apple ID with iCloud email address for household?

I would like to create a shared Apple ID with iCloud email address that wife and I can share and access from separate devices? A shared household iCloud email address would be useful for email contact for creating/managing bill accounts for utilities, school for kids, bill pay etc…  I currently have my own Apple ID on my MBP.
    Thanks!
    dlaron

If you mean that you would like to create a shared iCloud account with a shared iCloud email address and you already have an iCloud account of your own, you can do that by creating a new Apple ID (see https://appleid.apple.com/account), then use the ID to set up a secondary iCloud account on your Mac by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (or Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>iCloud and signing in with the new ID.  You can then turn enable Mail in this account to create the shared email account.  Secondary accounts are more limited than primary iCloud accounts, and will only sync Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders and Notes.
Once the account is created, it can be added to iOS devices by signing in with the ID in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud.
Or, if your only interest is in having a shared email account, you might consider just setting up a free Gmail account to share.

  • I want to create a new apple id with another email, It says email already in use...

I want to create a new apple id with another email, It says email already in use, but there is no account with that email( i use it for facetime and get apple offers) What do i do?

You can check to see if it is associated with one of your IDs by following this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625, and entering the email address at step 2 to see if it finds an ID owned by you.  If it doesn't, contact the Apple account security team and have them check into it by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Apple ID account security.

  • I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I have almost the exact same problem. I have a bunch of music, ringtones, TV shows, movies... stuff that I purchased that I can't authorize. All of these items were purchased with the same account I'm still using now. The difference is that I've changed my email address. I don't have the original email address from when I made those purchases and I'm unable to authorize them. I can see that when I view info on one of these purchases the "Account Name: " has my old email address... not my iTunes or Apple account. So, if I'm authorizing my iTunes using my new email none of these older purchases will work.
I'm really curious how to fix this. I've got quite a few purchases from years back that I'd like access to, but I can't authorize using my new email/iTunes or my old email (the one used for the original purchases).
Take a look at the info and tell me if you see "Account Name:" on one of your purchases. And is that associated to your old email address? There has to be a way to fix this or 'transfer' older purchases, especially if it's all under the same real 'account'.

My usual Apple ID/iCloud account has been locked out.  I tried the email link - didn't receive an email.   So I created a new Apple ID with another email but now I can't access my other Apple ID Mail, etc..  How do I get the Apple ID I want to use working again?   Help.

    Hi JkeeneSoldano,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To regain access to your Apple ID, try to reset your password using one of these methods:
Answer your security questions. Use these steps if you know the answers to your security questions.
Use email authentication. We'll send you an email that you can use to change your password.
Use two-step verification. If you set up two-step verification, you can use it to change your password. You just need your recovery key and a trusted device.

  • I never had an APPLE ID with this email address and I have no idea why this is this showing to me?

Every time I restore my iPhone from iCloud Backup, this apple id SHOWS UP  and asking password. But I never had an APPLE ID with this email address and I have no idea why this is this showing to me? Could anyone help me to remove it from my Applr ID as it seems somehow its linked to my iCloud Backup. Thank you.
    <Email Edited By Host>

    Hi Ralph,
I have received the iPhone 5s from my carrier EE UK. I never had a second hand device as all my previous iPhones received from my carrier. Every time I restore from iCloud backup, first I enter my Apple ID and Password, then it authenticates and goes through next process and updates iCloud settings, right after initial settings then it displayes enter your password where the Apple ID is the metntioned Apple ID and in the bottom it says "Skip this to go next process" or something. I have to press that everytime to skip it, then restore my backup from iCloud and then when I'm in iPhone home it asks me for the password of that mentoned email. So everytime I change the email address to my Apple ID then enter my password that activates my iCloud services and start downloading all the apps I installed.
Its really weird to be honest and I don't know how to remove that email address from that process and seems its there.
N.B. When I had iPhone 4s, Apple Store did replace my iPhone 4s with a new one due to the faulty WiFi.

You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password.  They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary.  The call should be free.

  • I want to delete my iCloud account as I have created new Apple id. But it is not allowing me to delete the previous account as it in no longer in use. I m using IOS 8.2. My new Apple id and alternate email address is verified. Plz help I m stuck.

how can I delete my previous iCloud email address. It is no longer in use. I have created new Apple id. And it is verified but I cannot merge it with iCloud Since it is asking me to type password.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I have recently changed my email /apple ID when I tried to buy new Lion download the old email address comes up?

I have recently changed my email address and cosequent apple ID when I went to buy Lion download the old email address comes up?

By default, the email address that you last used will be automatically displayed in the Apple ID box, leaving you just the password to enter. Just change the email address and enter your password an you should be fine. Note that you may see that old email address pop up a few times more - here, in the iTunes store, etc. - but if you've changed both all of your purchases, etc., should be linked to your 'new' Apple ID.
