Creating New Item - SAP Logon
Hi,
I am using SAP GUI 7.10.
When i am creating a new item by selecting Group server selection, I am getting the below error message
"Error: Sevice '?' unknown"
i have done the below said procedure. Still i am getting that error message. Could anyone help me.
" sapms<sid> 36XX/tcp
where XX is system/instance number of message server.
Service file is normally located at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Also after making this entry do press an enter and then only save. "

I am also using SAP GUI 7.10.
I did not find any Group server.
What patch level of gui you are in?

when should we create a new item category

A rule of thumb in SAP is "Not to change the Standard Setting" Either it is Order document, item category,schedule line, pricing procedure, delivery type, billing type e.t.c.
Basically it depends on the BUSINESS REQUIREMENT,why we go for customization. 90% of the BR will not fit into SAP STANDARD setting. So, when u have to change any of the existing setting like creating a New sales order document for particular business only ( Foods business..) ( though we generally use TAN as standard item category ) we can derive a cusomtized one as per our needs.
BR needs may be:
1. New Partner Determination procedure
2. New Text determination procedure.
3. New pricing setup
4. New incomplete procedure.
there are a lot more to come. When your Business needs any change in the existing TAN setting, SAP gives u the flexibility of creating new Item category.
Also, if you start changing STANDARD setting ( TAN) as per your needs, SAP doesn't support it when u have some problems or any UPGRADE issue.
This is the real need of CUSTOMIZATION in any Business /CLIENT.

Important fieldsfor Item category determination process:
Define Item Categories*
Define Item Category Groups*
Define Default Item cat grp for Material Type*
Define Item Category Usage*
Assign Item Categories*
The method of assignment of item category is carried out in t-code VOV4 and please have a look into this t-code and you wil have the exact idea regarding the sequence/combination for item category determination.

ShwanThis can be done by Roles and authorisation.
Basis can be able to do the settings in such a way that once the user save the sales order at VA01, he can' t change anything in that.
THat can only be modified by the authorised person.

Hi,
my requirement says,
For an INBOUND delivery
under 2180152896 , 0010 is an item which is spitted into 90001,90002
like
item material qty
10 500000376 30,000
900001 500000376 25,000
900002 500000376 10,000
1 scenario says we need to create one more line item like 90003 say qty 10 and add qty and update the item 10 qty with
like
item material qty
10 500000376 30,000
900001 500000376 25,000
900002 500000376 10,000
900003 500000376 10,000 (new item)
can anyone suggest me how to achieve this

Well, why do you need to create a new item category? It would help if you can clarify your business scenario so that it would be easier for us to make the right recommendation.
Regarding your question, the answer is a NO. It is not possible to create a new item category in SAP. The item category table (T163) is an SAP system table and cannot be changed by customers. Please read OSS note 61345 for a further explanation.
In simpler terms, SAP has built a great amount of control around the item category in the way it has designed its standard PO program and the way it is processed in the program. They do not want customers to mess around with this.
Then again, nothing is impossible in SAP. Probably, an expert ABAP programmer can understand the way the item category is processed in the PO program and you may well be able to modify the system by creating an entry in table T163 and use it during PO creation. But, this is certainly not recommended by SAP.

This error comes up due to number range problem in the
tables.
As you have said this is a third party Sales order, just check if this is relevant to the PR being generated or the Sales order getting created.
Check the Current number of the PR document type in the EBAN table & check if it is the same for the Number ranges in customizingin OMH7.
If they are not the same... & the current number in OMH7 is smaller than the Number in the table EBAN , you need to change the current number equal to the EBAN table.
If this is the case fior sales orders similarly check for Sales order table & sales order number range object.

SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow - creating new items in the list
Hi,
I need to create a workflow in SharePoint designer 2013. Basically the flow is like that:
There is a Request List where people submit their requests. The requests have status: Submitted and Completed.
Once the status goes to 'Completed" there should be a workflow triggered that creates an entry in another list; VoC list and populate VoC columns. Additionally there should be an email send to the requestor that the request has been processed.
I tried to do that but I failed - what do I do wrong? It keeps telling me that there is an error in workflow.

populated with the data from Requestors List. I set Field Requestors name to Value Current item:Requestors name but it did not work :-(
What do you mean by "VoC column is already created in VoC list"?
And one additional question: is it possible for the workflow to automatuically create new columns in the VoC list?

We could use workflow to populate values in column but not populate new columns, so the column should be created in list manually before workflow.
As I understand now, you need to use workflow to populate at least two columns in another list, and one is person or people type. I captured a screenshot for your reference, pp column is in person or group type in both two lists, please set return

Hi ,
I am trying to create a new item at the master level and getting the following message :
You are only authorized to access company 'ABC1000' .
Value secured: You Are Only Authorised To Access Company 'ABC1000' .
I am not able to change the accounts to ABC1000 in the cost of goods sold accounts and other accounts in the item creation screen.
Is there any profile options that I am missing?

I Created template for News item, which includes.

3. Html editor(Body)
Buttons like save, preview,reset and cancel.
Now i want to add 3 subitems which will be displayed after the title in news page..
Ex:
Title..........Company news
Sub item1......news1(link to internal documents folder)
Sub item2......news2(link to internal documents folder)
Sub item3......news3(link to internal documents folder)
Which needs to be displayed in same window..not in new browser..
If i am trying to create using XML form builder..it not displaying in same window..all three sub items are displaying in new window..

I have a workaround for you.
If you make a new field item1 ( type link ) and put as a field in the edit form and as a link in the show form.
The user gets a link and when clicked a new window is opened. When you make the link as user in the HTML editor with the url button (looks like a chain) the link is a _blank. Meaning that you stay in the same window.

Workflow for creating new item and updating list
I believe that the answer is easy, but because I am already having trouble with this issue for few days I am getting blind to see the solution:)
I have two lists and a workflow running behind. Basically when new item is created in first list, workflow makes a copy in second list. Because this workflow works only when new item is added, I have a problem when item is updated, items in second list just
disappear - are empty. I believe that I have a problem with workflow, because somehow I should also have in to update list in case of change.
Please help.

According to your description, my understanding is that the workflow you created was not started when an item was updated in first list.
Did you check the option “Start workflow automatically when an item is changed” in SharePoint Designer?
Did you sign in as system accout?
Please use another list to check whether this issue occurs.
If this issue still occurs, please provide screenshot about the details of the workflow in order to find out what goes wrong.

Copying one item and creating new item - Sales Order
Hi Guys,
I have a requirement where one item in sales order have to be copied within the same order as new item and the only change is site.
For example Sale order 1 - line item 10 - Material A site XXXX
Requirement Sales order 1 - line item 20 - Material A site YYYY
Now the sale order 1 will have two lines for the same material but the site is different.
Is there a possibility to do the same.

If i am not wrong, i assume you are using site instead of plant. If it is plant , then "yes", we can have a order with same material being line item 10 and 20 with different plants. Reg delivery, if the plants are configured to a same shipping point then you will have one delievery. if the plants are configured for a different shipping point , then delivery will be split up.

ATG 10.1.2 Create new item discount type
Hi all,
We are using ATG 10.1.2, and created a new CommerceItem property called giftWrapItem. It is working fine, we can buy it with the CommerceItem in and order.
We created calculators, customized PricingEngine to use our calculators, and it is working so well.
So, we now want to create a new promotion type, that can give item and order discount based on giftWrapItem quantity on order.
We created a GiftWrapItemDiscountCalculator class, that extends ItemDiscountCalculator, and we could add giftWrap in Offer Type at BCC Promotion creation panel.
But we don't know how we can do it work, like Standard promotion Offer Type. The rules, like Standard rules, does not appear in Promotion panel.
One example to explain what we want: a promotion that gives one free giftWrap item, if user buy one product named X.
We read the Oracle ATG docs, but couldn't find more ways to do this.
Any help?

Another thought on this (might be out of context), why are you not considering the GiftWrapItem as another SKU type or something like that, and create promotion using ATG OOB promotion template, for example if the order contains X give 1 sku with type 'GiftwrapItem' free. This might reduce the customization effort and you just need to train the business users about how to use the GiftWrap promotion.
