Creating new metadata titles "names"

I have just started using Aperture 2.1 and I want to include model release ref# along with property release # . I do not see this available in the metadata catagories how does one create new "names"in IPTC OR EXIF.

Welcome to the forum.
You can add your own custom metadata tags (which won't be saved into exported files), but IPTC and EXIF are international standards - you can't simply add a new one as other software wouldn't know about them.

You create it on the 1552 once the AP joins. One it joins, you will have to choose that AP and then set the AP mode to Bridge and then apply. This will reboot the AP. Once the AP comes back, you will have a MESH tab on that specific AP or any AP that you have set to Bridge mode. You then set the AP role and the bridge group name there. Create new folder with name of file?

I am generating about 20 files from a 3d model. I open the model let's say the name is "delorean" then I want to create a new folder with all the generated files. I'm using a watch me Do to generate the files. The watch me do will save them in whatever folder I specify ahead of time. Should I just specify new folder each time, then rename it with the file name afterwards? If so how do I get the original file name so that I can use it to rename the file. Is there an example of doing something like this somewhere?

I am going to guess that you start off with a single file - what are you doing to generate these files? My *Get Names of Finder Items* action can get a name to use in the *New Folder* action - items passed to the New Folder action will get copied to it, so a little more detail may help in creating the workflow.
The *Dispense Items Incrementally* action can also be used to dole out the items one at a time - knowing what the workflow is doing would help with the use of this action as well.

Adobe CQ5.5 Digital Asset - Delete default metadata and how to create custom metadata

I am trying to create custom metadata for all format of assets (PDF, DOC, TXT, etc.,). I have created the dam folder under apps node as below:-
Step 1: /apps/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems
Step 2: Included the four property as textfield and selection according to our requirement under formitems
Step 3: I changed the cq:allowedTemplates from /content/dam/jcr:content
Step 4: I tried to upload the asset, I could get the custom metadata for Txt, Doc, PPT, XLSX
Step 5: But for JPG, PNG and PDF I am getting the default metadata which is huge list.
How to control this one? I want my custom metadata only displayed for creation assets. Find the attached.

If you read the description under section http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/dam/how_to_edit_metadata.html#Creating New Metadata Property for Assets you will find yout the format for images and its different format stores at different location. So to deal with image metadata plz try below
1. Create a "image" node under "/apps/dam/content/asseteditors" as sling folder and configure it similar to "/apps/dam/content/asseteditors"
2. under this folder again copy paste the "/libs/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems" and customize it accordingly
Above will help you to manage with all types of images. Now if you want to have separate group of property for different image types then similar to above you have to create format node inside image folder for example jpg file type create a node with name "jpeg" under "image" node & configure similarly as you did for image.

When you configure in a distributed environment, provide a new, unique instance name as you configure each server. For example, if you are using the default instance name epmsystem1 on the first server, and you keep the same naming convention on subsequent servers, you would create new, unique instance names on each subsequent server, such as epmsystem2, epmsystem3, and >so on. What if i use same path "d:\.......\epmsystem1" on all servers in distributed environment?

Mostly i configured different instance name ("D:\oracle\middleware\epmsystem1" and "D:\oracle\middleware\epmsystem2" etc.
but i have one client where i see similar instance on all servers in distributed environment "D:\oracle\middleware\epmsystem1" and "D:\oracle\middleware\epmsystem1" etc.
Please advice? and let me know what could be impact of these two scenario.

During Convert, it created new names, new folders!

I just converted a large number of files and iTunes reorganzed them all.
In my prefs I had nothing checked off. Advanced.General: unchecked keep folder organized, etc. Importing: unchecked create file names, etc. But it seems to have done these things anyway.
After letting it run all night, when I got up this morning to see progress I found it had stalled on one file and then when I clicked cancel, it just ended, and I don’t know if it completed converting all my files. (I want to trash the older ones).
What it did: The reason I can’t tell what exactly it did is that it changed the titles and reorganized the folders, creating new folders where I had none. I know it “did the right thing” as far as correctly identifying what it could and correctly finding out what album a song came from - but that’s not how I had them organized.
Exactly what it did: Case in point: I had a folder named “African Rhythm.” In it I had a song file named “03 Amaliza.” iTunes created a new folder named “TWA” (which is the name of the actual band but I had it in a compilation folder) and in it created another new folder named “African Rhythms,” and in that retitled my song file as “Amaliza.” (Correct name but it dropped the “03” before it.)
How can I get iT to leave my file and folder names as they were before converting?

I have a 5 yr. old iPhone 3GS, I can't back it up to my laptop, it's not working, but wondered if i can back it up to her laptop, if I create a new user account name, w/out losing her info?

My 5+ yr. old iPhone 3GS is on it's last legs. I desperatly need to "back it up" ASAP, so I can buy a new iPhone, and I really need to be able to transfer my 5 years worth of info to a new iPhone, (a 4S). The computer I used to back my iPhone on when I first got it no longer works, so I was wondering about being able to back my iPhone up to my daughters laptop, but she also has an iPhone 3GS, that's already backed up to her laptop. I know you couldnt back up two iPhones up to one computer, (at least that's what I was told, years ago), but I was recently told by an "Apple" rep that I could "probably" back my iPhone up to her computer without losing anyone's info, if I created a "Secondary User Name Account" on her computer. I'm not comfortble doing this unless I'm reassured more than being told that it's "probably" safe.
Does anyone know what options I have, and if this idea would result in one or both of us losing our info, if we tried to store two iPhones "back up info" on one laptop?
My phone's barely working at all, but I can still access my info, (for now, at least). I really need to do something now.
Could anyone who knows how this works please give me some info?

First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.
That aside, you can sync multiple phones to one computer - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495. boogeyman is wrong. It is 100% safe to create an additional user name on her computer, log in with that name, and back up the phone. See this for details on what you want to do: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109

Cannot select name when creating new DC

It seems I encounter this kind of problems over and over again when dealing with NWDI )-:
In this thread Cannot select vendor when creating new DC I couldn't select vendor.
I installed a new NWDI system (version is 7.18), did all the post installation steps including the configuration of a name server on the SLD but I cannot select "name" and the vendor I entered is not shown (even if enter it manually I cannot select name so it doesn't help - see snapshot).

I did name server config on : http://server:port/dtr/system-tools/administration/NameServerConfiguration
Name prefixes are defined under 'Name Reservation -> Development Component Name' - I used <x.y>/* and <x.y>/tst (x.y is namespace like com.omri).
I updated CMS after setting the name server, restart J2EE and did all kind of voodoo without success.
I use local SLD which is part of the J2EE.
I don't get any error messages (from NWDI/SLD/NWDS).
I don't remember this kind of problem with NWDI on 6.40 versions.
Moreover I installed and configured several systems on 7.12 & 7.13 versions without any problems but with 7.14 & 7.18 I've problem with setting the name server...

I stated that I did try to do all of this when I first set up the new computer...I did do the Setup Assistant numerous times but my old computer kept freezing half way through. Even if I did it when I first got the new computer back in Septemeber, I would have had the same issue b/c my old computer has been 'broken' for a while. My old computer can't handle doing too much at once and I think the setup and then migration functions I tried were too much. That's why I was hoping I could use the migration function piecemeal. I wish I could just check off the exact files and folders I want vs. having to choose it at the 'user' level...that's too much for my old computer to have to transfer.

Procedure to create new table using existing metadata

THis is what I want to achieve,
I want to create procedure which will take a input parameter as name of a table lets say 'EMP',
and this procedure will check whether that table exist or not?
if exist then
it will create a new table with name appending _dummy to existing table name (ex: new table will be EMP_DUMMY) ,
and new table should have the same table structure ,index and constraint imposed on EMP table.
NB: It should not be created using as select like create table EMP_DUMMY as select * from EMP where condition=false;

Create a new canvas certain size such as 150x40 pixels
Apply a layer to that canvas. Script will select the layer by layer name

How to create new Folder in KM with name having special character in it.
Right now its not allowing me to create folder when i have Colon( as one of the character in name of the folder.
Is there a way to change this validate?

I'm not sure about special chars such as ":" but ifyou need to have your folders displaying special language chars (like german chars), have a look into the below link.

I have an error when creating new folders, it renames the folder below it to the same name (super - next folder - parent's next sibling...)

if I try to add a new folder to a sub folder, the program does add the new bookmark folder, but it also renames the next folder in line in the parent of the original "subfolder" to the exact same name...
maybe I just need to reload the mozilla, maybe I was hacked and that is what they changed...
I also have a similar problem with microsoft explorer, every time I try to add a new folder it gives it a starting wierd name besides "New Folder"
