Creating new PCR Scenario in ABAP Workbench
Hi everyone,
I'm trying a lot to create a new scenario for the PCR functionality of Manager Self Service but I'm having some problems.
I enter in the transaction QISRSCENARIO and create a new adobe form from scratch. I created some characteristic and made a bind with some texts fields that I have created in the Adobe forms. But, here is the problem, only the PERNR characteristic it's displayed. Others like ENAME, ORGEH isn't working. Is that any other thing that I need to do to be able do display this characteristic??
Thanks,
Daniel Kiel
Hi Daniel,
Yes that's right. ISRs provide a generic framework for form processing, but you still have to add any form-specific processing such as:
Data reads
Validations
Additional functions/buttons
You may be able to reuse (by adding your scenario to the BADI filter) or copy the code from the standard scenario of course. Just check out the matching BADI implementation for the standard scenario.

Jocelyn

MSS PCR - NWDS or ABAP Workbench
Hello,
We are on ECC 6.0 Stack 9 and NW04s SP11 ( EP 7.0 SP 11).We are trying to implemement PCR forms in MSS.I have following questions.
1. I need to customize the standard PCR forms, in order to do that should I use Adobe livecycle designer in NWDS or ABAP workbench.?
2.I have gone through the ISR cook book, but still i dod not understand where exactly how I will use NWDS(developer studio) for the customizing. Can anybody guide me plz.
3.I also need to create some custom PCRs( I am pretty good in Webdynpro for java, Floor plan manager and interactive forms programming..) , could any one point out some relevant How to Do guides.
JohnYes. Use transaction QISRSCENARIO as your initial entry point for your scenario. There is no need to do anything with your NWDS.
Side note: You should consider useing HCM processes and forms, instead of PCR. Its the newer and more sofisticated technolgy.

Creating new report category in Abap HR
When I try and create a new custom report category, I get a message saying "Choose the key from the allowed namespace". I did use a Z report category (we do have Z report categories that have been created earlier by somebody else). It would be great if somebody could list the steps to create a new report category. By the way, I would just want to keep just the personnel number (PNPPERNR) in the selection option.
I did try using SM30 to create a new entry but got the same message as above.
Thanks.>

What are criterias to create Config. Scenarios and Comm Channels?
Suppose we have 10 interfaces of same kind - file to file , some of them are inbound some of them are outbound relatively to R/3.
Suppose also we have 15 File to Rfc , 5 rfc's to File .All they are interfaces communicating with external partners(that are not on our landscape)
I have few questions regarding the config in ID.
1. In the case above - what would be the criteria to create new Configuration Scenarios, how many are needed ?
2.Is it right to create Config Scenario for each Interface ?Or os it right to create all same kind if (e.g. file to file) under one Config Scenario?
3. what would be the criteria to create Communication Channels, how many are needed ?
4.Is it right approach to create 2 separate Comm channels recv/send for each separate interface?Or may be I can Reuse some communication channels from another already created interfaces - true or not?
I will appreciate your fast reply and also if you know what is the best practice..
Thanks !
JonHi jon,
For the 15 File to RFC scenario u can have a Generic scenario to pick up the file and route it to the respective other scenario i.e design one common generic interface to poll the file and route it to 15 other scenario this reduces u to have onle one CC instead to have 15 communication channels and 15 receiver determinations from the file sender.
Have a look at this Blog.. <a href="/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/16/configuring-generic-sender-file-cc-adapter Generic Sender File CC Adapter</a> By Sravya Talanki
also read thru the comments of this blog to get the clear picture...
also look at my wiki... <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/SingleSenderFileCC4MultipleDirectories">Single Sender File CC 4 Multiple Directories</a>

Switching ABAP debugger on/off without creating new connection
Is it possible to switch the ABAP debugger on/off without creating a new connection? It seems that the only way to enable the debugger is when the connection is first opened.
Hello,
No, it is not possible.
However, if you have SAP release 620 or higher, you can use a new ABAP debugging variant, so-called "external debugging", to debug RFC/HTTP(SOAP) calls even without setting debugging option in connection string.
You can enable "external debugging" in SE37 by selecting
Utilities->Settings->Debugging->Activate external...
For details about "external debugging", please refer to ABAP workbench documentation.

previously both of the system HLC and MFG is in level 6 SP ABAP and BASIS
when i try to create EWA report for both of them, i have missing module in the report
and i read a note that i need to upgrade to level 8.
when i upgrade both of them to level 7, then i run sgen and there are no problem on both system
but when i upgrade both of them to level 8
in my MFG system, i can run sgen with no problem.
in my HLC system, i run sgen and it take a long time to validate the programs which are need to be recompiled. so i never run sgen to recompile on HLC system after i update the SP to level 8. but i believe this shouldnt be an issue.
the day after i update the SP, one of my user raise an issue.
(same issue is not happened in MFG system only in HLC system)
when we try to create new user..

Problems creating new Web Dynpro ABAP application
All,
I am following this tutorial to create my first Web Dynpro ABAP application
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/fc/501b42b5815133e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
In this tutorial I was asked to create a component as Local object.
But after giving the name of the component, I get an alert saying
"Object can only be created in SAP Package"
When I confirm this, I was shown a "Create Object Directory entry" dialog box which asks for attributes like Package.
And this box has Local Object button, when clicked I get the message "Test Objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces".
I found some other article through Google
http://www.octavia.de/fileadmin/octavia_files/content_bilder/Hauptnavigation/SAP_NetWeaver/WebDynpro/Web_Dynpro_Part_I.pdf
According to this, I tried to give $TMP as Package. But still have the same error
"Test Objects cannot be created in foreign namespaces"
Where am I and what should I do to create a new project?
Thanks.Thanks Abinav.
My problem is with naming convention only. Component name starting with Z solved my problem. -
my usual practice in creating new abap program is in se80 then type the desired program name then the sap will display that the program name is not existing and will ask if i want to create it.
however in my new company when i do the above step it just display that the program is not existing and no question if i will create this. in line with this i would like to ask how would i create new abap program?
thanks.
donnaHi Donna,
Do you have the relevant authorisations? Maybe you donot have authorisation to create new objects? Check your profiles via SU01. Personally I always ask for SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW in the Development system.
Cheers,
Pat. -
"How to create new client in ABAP sneek Preview "
HI ,
Can anybody tell me how to create new client in ABAP sneek preview , i had create a new client 100 and tried to enter with Cilent 100. User : SAP* , and Password : pass. But i'm unable to log into the sap system.Hello,
perhaps this will help you --> <a href="http://www.sap-img.com/bc049.htm">instructions</a>
And this quote from another thread:
<i>in SAPNW2004sSneakPreviewABAP this procedure only works if the system <b>profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to 0</b> (and the system restarted after that), otherwise you will have a new client without any user thus useless ;-).</i>

Problem creating new ABAP Technical System in SLD
I newly installed a ECC 5 IDES system (ABAP + JAVA) on my computer for ABAP and Webdynpro learning.
I got problem when I try to create new ABAP Technical System in SLD.
I put my steps of installation here so you know my full story.
1. Install Central Instance (Non-unicode);
2. Install Database Instance (Non-unicode);
3. Install Java add-in on ABAP;
4. Configure the HTTP connection parameters in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator
All of the above steps are successful.
Now my Webdynpro application need to access a Function Module, so I want to create a JCo connection in Webdynpro Content Administrator, but both application server and message server are not available, so I can't create any connection.
I go back to SLD to register ABAP Technical System step by step below:
1. Choose Home ® Technical Systems.
2. Choose New Technical System.
3. Select the AS ABAP radio button.
4. Choose Next.
5. Enter system details (Installation number, host name).
6. Choose Next.
7. Enter message server and central application server details.
8. Choose Next.
9. Choose Next.
10. Add New Client 800, leave logical name blank, click Add.
11. Choose Next.
12. Here the system says 'No product available', the whole effort make no sense.
I tried every possible settings, but at step 12 it keeps telling me 'No product available'.
This is the problem I want to fix.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.hi,
