Creating new themes in Adobe Captivate 8

I have set up a new background in Adobe Captivate 8 and have tried saving it as a new theme numerous ways but when opening the theme in a new doc to set as theme it comes up blank. I've followed directions from earlier versions of Captivate but the only theme related instructions I can find for Captivate 8 are about colour changing, rather than completely customising themes. Have they taken this ability away in the latest version?

The project does have to be responsive. Can I manipulate an original theme (add background images, company logo etc) ?

Hi
First Go To Layout.
On Hicherchy Platte , rightclick on Subform and select option new body page.
This way you can create body page for the particular subform.
if you want to create master page , right click on page 1 and select New master page.

User needs to Sign in with Adobe ID and password
Enter Adobe Captivate 7 or Adobe Presenter 9 Serial Number :
It will validate the key and ask you about the details of Captivate 7 or Presenter 9 Package :
You can choose the product and components you want packaged
Once you click on “Build”, it will download and create the package for Adobe Captivate 7
Note : Adobe CCP 1.1 is available in LWS (Adobe Licensing Website) downloads.

To create the deployment Package for Adobe Captivate 7 you need Creative Cloud Packager instead of AMEE 3.1 .
You can download the Creative Cloud Packager (CCP) from your Licensing account (www.licensing.adobe.com) .

Creating New Theme/Background Keynote 08

Okay, I'm working with the iWork demo (really my first experience) and I'm checking out Keynote. One of the things that I would like to be able to do is create a theme so I can easily select it as my slide backgroud instead of having to insert and image all of the time. I tried the "save theme" thing, but I that doesn't seem to work. It shows up in the theme section, but I can't select it (or I try to and it doesn't stick). So, how do I create a theme starting from the beginning?
By the way, I'm using a PowerBook G4 1.5

what exactly are you doing, just changing the background to a different color? Did you know there's a whole block of empty color wells at the bottom of the color palette? Drag a color down from the top portion and drop it on one of the little rectangles and it'll stay there. Then go to each master (there aren't that many in the Apple themes) and select the background color well in the inspector, then click on your saved color in the color palette. That way it'll always be the same.
THe other option is to duplicate master slides and modify them, but I don't usually do that because it takes me more time to move text around and format it than it does to just change the background on each master.

Trying to create new pencils in Adobe Brush for use in Adobe Sketch

I'm really impressed with Adobe brush. I figured I would create some new pencil thicknesses for Adobe sketch. They've come out ok but only really work with long straightish lines. If I try and do smaller curved lines I have a couple of issues. Sometimes the lines just don't come out at all or they're super faint. Other times the line starts off where I want but sort of 'corrects' itself to a different line as I draw.
I've tried changing brush settings but not really seeing much difference. Do you have any tips on sorting this out? A tutorial showing how to make pencil/crayon type brushes would be amazing

Try to make the spacing smaller.
I find smaller sized brushes make for better resulting curves in Sketch.

As far I know there is currently no way to add new barcodes to the Adobe designer..SAP Note #430887 says the same..
Can I get any exact SAP note which states that adding new barcodes is not currently possible..
If there is any way we can do this please let me know..

Creating iDVD themes with Adobe

Hi everyone.
Is there anyway i could use an illustrator or flash file as an iDVD theme?
I wanted to use a keynote presentation, export it to flash and burn it to a dvd.
The thing is i'm making a portfolio of my college stuff and i want it to be all interactive
Any ideas?

What exactly do you want the dvd to contain (other than sample images of your work and movies)? You can add data to the dvd rom section of the dvd if you wish.
However, for the most part, interactive Dvd authoring is better addressed within FCS / DVDSP (apple's pro apps). Apps like Director from Adobe may also help. However, I'm not sure if there is a current update to this particular app or not. You'll have to search the web to find out should this app interest you.
In terms of making your own Themes / templates from scratch again this is much better addressed within DVDSP.
However, it is possible to add data to the dvd-rom section of the dvd if you wish. This can take many different forms like RAW image files, PDF, JPEG, TIFF, and so on. They won't be playable on most set top dvd players but they can be accessed from most computers.
Also, you can use AppleScript to add media to iDVD
You can use AppleScript to automate the creation of DVDs by linking iDVD to media asset systems and other scriptable applications such as iTunes, Adobe Photoshop, and Media 100i. You can customize menu properties, slideshows, movies, and text elements in iDVD.
The AppleScript website for iDVD has many downloadable scripts that everyone, even nonscripters, can use to make their use of iDVD even easier and more productive.

Captivate 7: "Cannot apply the new theme"

Hi all,
I'm trying to apply a new theme on a Captivate 7 project and keep getting the error message "Cannot apply the new theme". Any suggestions as to how to fix this? It's driving me insane and I really don't want to start my project from scratch.

When you reinstalled, did you first delete the Public Layouts folder, not the one in the installation folder of CP? Which OS do you use, I'm on Win7, and this is the path to that folder:
You can still delete it now, when you restart Captivate it will be refreshed, recreated. Same question about Preferences....

Will you be delivering this content from an LMS? If so, then the LMS should handle the menu. Break your project into separate modules and use the Multi-SCORM Packager to create a bundled set.
If you are not using an LMS, but ARE serving content from a web server, then YES you could create a menu module that you use to launch the other modules.
If you are intending to serve this content from a LAN or CD ROM, then you could create a normal HTML web page with hyperlinks to launch individual modules.

Adobe Captivate Demo

Hi,
I tried with the steps given in the "Create Adobe Captivate Demo", But the Adobe Captivate Demo option appears disabled after clicking the Project Manager tab and Placing the cursor on the folder and then selecting File > New, and choosing Adobe Captivate Demo. Please Help.

I'm not certain, but this may be one of those features that will only work if you have installed RoboHelp as part of the Technical Communication Suite.
At any rate, even though it's possible to open Captivate and record a demo from RoboHelp, I'd never advise anyone to work that way. My advice would be to use each product independently. Then add the Captivate demo you created using Captivate to your RoboHelp project.
And yes, I'm well aware that the method does exist, but then again, just because I can connect my blender to my car's cigarette lighter doesn't mean it's the best way to use either, no?
