Creating OnLine
I'm a relatively new user to converting on line. All has gone well so far... I usually convert simple word docs created in MS Office Word 2003 to pdf. As I say until today no problem but now my headers are not printing. Footers are fine but no headers! I am converting from A4 to A4 paper size. I suspect that I may have messed up my preferences as I tested a document that I printed last week. Last week it worked - today it came back without headers!
Any suggestions out there please?
Dear Michelle
No I'm afraid that you have misunderstood. If you look at the Word version
you will see that 99.9% of the document the font is in Arial. The one
exception is the line RKE and the line Associates at the top of page 1 which
I agree are in Copperplate Gothic Bold. However both these lines, together
with most of the rest of the document convert to adobe without problem.
What does not convert is the header on all pages - you can see it clearly in
the Word version. The header is "Strictly Private and Confidential" and it
is in Arial. Everything else converts - that does not - and it is on this
question that I would be grateful for an answer.
Thanks

I have installed 2010 Microsoft office 2010 home and business version for my laptop, and I have installed lync 2013.Now i want create online lync meeting from outlook, but i am unable view that lync icon in outlook. Please give me the solution for this issue.
Regards
RaghavendarHi Raghavendar,
Generally, when you install Lync 2013 in the computer with Office 2010, a Lync Meeting Add-in will be installed and enabled in Outlook 2010. Please follow these steps to check it:
1. In Outlook, click the File tab, click Options, and then click
Add-Ins.
2. Please take one of the following actions:
If the add-in is in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
b. Click to select the check box next to the add-in, and then click OK.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should be available when you create a new calendar item.
If the add-in is in the Disabled Application add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
Disabled Items, and then click Go.
b. Select the add-in, and then click Enable.
c. Restart Outlook, and then verify that the add-in is displayed in the
Add-ins dialog box.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should now be available when you create a new calendar item.
3. In Event Viewer, view the Application log to see whether an error was logged for Outlook, for Lync 2013, the Lync Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013.
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

Gurprit BhatiaHi Gurprit,
A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:
In wdDoInit() method:
wdContext.currentNodeAElement.setValueA("");
Context is as follows:
RootNode
|____NodeA
|_____ValueA
Hope it helps. -
Beginning last evening I was able to log into my Create Online PDF account but when I tried to create a PDF from HTML as I usually do, I was told by the pop up window Your Trials Have Expired. It went on to,say, "We're sorry. You have used all your free trials. If you live in the U.S. or Canada you can subscribe to the Create Adobe Copyright Registered PDF online service and continue to convert your files into high quality PDF documents.

a two month savings
I have had an ongoing account for this and without a problem Create Adobe PDF Online comes through each month saying:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
<[email protected]>:
64.18.5.10 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 No such user - psmtp
Giving up on 64.18.5.10.
I then started a Web Case and haven't hear a word. Every time Create PDF Online inserts a red service alert, my heart almost stops because I know I am going to get into trouble. This has all happened before. This red alert saying Users of Adobe PDF Online may experience an interruption in service between 5:00pm and 6:30pm PST on 1/14/11, while maintenance activities are being performed. This red alert has been going on for a lot longer than this recent alert. There has been a red Service alert on the page for that three weeks. I was able to create files without a problem. But now, I am welcomed to my email address, however my five free trials have ended and I am asked to subscribe. I am paid up until the next transaction date of 01/26/2011. My free trials ended back in 2007 if not earlier when I subscribed to this Online PDF service.I'm having the same issue. When I log in it says my trial has expired. But I have been a subscriber since 2007. And so far I have lost a whole days worth of work trying to figure out what is wrong with it. I have not yet found a way to log in as a subscriber. Adobe please fix the issue. I will cancel my subscription if the problem persists, I'm not paying $119.88 for something that is not going to work or help my buisness.

Looking for Best Program to Create Online Training Lessons
I'm looking to purchase some software to create online
training lessons. The lessons would consist of screen shots, dialog
boxes, narration, possibly animation. Given that Captivate has
Flash, I'm hopeful that it would do the trick and be somewhat
user-friendly given that I'm not a programmer. If there are other
Adobe products or products made by another company that you could
recommend, I'd be in your debt.
Thanks in advance for your help.If you're creating software training, I agree Captivate is
the best tool
around. A close second for that type of training is Camtasia.
They both
can output to SWF. Captivate can also output to .FLA for
editing in
Flash directly (and version 2.0 supposedly handles this a lot
better
than 1.0). I'm not sure if Camtasia can export to .FLA...
If your training courseware may extend beyond software,
perhaps into
things like process or conceptual training, Authorware may be
a better
solution. However as it's a much more fully-featured, true
'authoring'
program, the learning curve is a bit steeper.

Create ONLINE logfile in physical standby database
We have created a physical standby database with rman duplicate command on a remote server
"duplicate target database for standby dorecover nofilenamecheck"
When I see the standby server...Online logfiles are not created however its relevant entries are there in V$LOG and V$LOGFILE views.
I guess it is the default behaviour of duplicate command in RMAN and we can not specify LOGFILE clause when we create standby database.
Now the problem is we could not drop the online logfile on standby database since it's status is "CURRENT", "ACTIVE".
Since the ONLINE LOGFILE are not actually created , "ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE GROUP " command returns with error as it could not find the file in the server.
So How we can drop the current/active online logfile and add new ones in standby db?I'm assuming you have physical standby. Here are step I did in the past.
1) create a backup control file
2) bring the database back using the "recreate control file" it the trace file BUT you need to remove or comment out the line that has the corrupt or missing redo log file. And don't forget to add the tempfile after you recreate the controlfile
example:
alter database backup controlfile to trace;
STARTUP NOMOUNT
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "ORCL" NORESETLOGS FORCE LOGGING ARCHIVELOG
MAXLOGFILES 16
MAXLOGMEMBERS 3
MAXDATAFILES 100
MAXINSTANCES 8
MAXLOGHISTORY 292

GROUP 2 '/oracledata/orcl/redo02.log' SIZE 200M,
GROUP 3 '/oracledata/orcl/redo03.log' SIZE 200M,
# GROUP 3 '/oracledata/orcl/redo03.log' SIZE 200M
-- STANDBY LOGFILE
-- GROUP 10 '/oracledata/orcl/redostdby04.log' SIZE 200M,
-- GROUP 11 '/oracledata/orcl/redostdby05.log' SIZE 200M
DATAFILE
'/oracledata/orcl/system01.dbf',
'/oracledata/orcl/undotbs01.dbf',
'/oracledata/orcl/sysaux01.dbf',
'/oracledata/orcl/users01.dbf'
CHARACTER SET WE8ISO8859P1
If you just want to add the standby redo log then using this command.
alter database add standby logfile

How to create online fillable form using acobrat 7.0 ?
I want to create an online fillable form but seems like a fill able PDF form is good to enter the information when end user wants to print the document with the filled information. They won't be able to save the filled information unless they have adobe acrobat and every user don't have acrobat. Majority of users will have adobe reader only which does not have the feature of saving the document with the filled information.
How can I receive the information from this fill able PDF form ?
I have seen on many website that, they people can fill out the form online and submit the information.
I know a way too add submit button using acrobat 7 designer but that is very complicated because the user will have to send xml data and i will have to import the xml data into the original pdf form which is very time consuming and not a good idea when i have to deal will 1000 forms every week.
when a personal is filling a fillable form (which i will upload on my website), that pdf form can't be send directly to me with data in it ?
this seems to be very complicated. For AA7, you can set the file to submit the data, not the entire form. You would have the FDF data file submitted to you. The e-mail feature is not very reliable, but that was not your question. When you receive the FDF file, you may be able to click it and have it open in the form (if you did not move the form and such -- it has some folder information in the FDF). Otherwise, you can open the form and use the form tools to import the data -- forgot where it is in AA7. The end result of the import will be the same display as the submitter had in the form. You can then save the form to a different name. There may be some data handling within Acrobat 7, I don't remember. If not, you might want to get the FDF Toolkit from Adobe and set up some data manipulation with the toolkit to put data in a database or such.

Creating online help based on external documentation
Hi there
I am in the process of writing a "handbook" for one application I have built. I will write it using MS Word, and it will have detailed information on how to use the app, including screenshots, arrows and other drawing objects.
I would like to add some online help to the app also, but instead of re-entering the same information manually in Apex (that would be limited to text only) I would like to re-use the document I will create in Word. Has anyone implemented anything like this?
One solution for this that I am considering is to break down the handbook file into a number of smaller files, one for each page, and upload them into Oracle as BLOBs (in a table with app_alias and page_id as PK). Then the help page would download and display these files (in some way, not sure how yet).
Ideally, the whole document should be uploaded as a BLOB and somehow the program should be able to extract only the bit that is relevant to the current page and display it.
Any comments/suggestions?
Thanks,
LuisHi
I don't think it is possible to know that (except if you ask the Apex dev team directly I suppose).
The solution I used was to create a Word document with the application help and export it as HTML. Then copied the HTML to a directory in the server and created a link in the app to open that HTML in a popup window.
I hope this helps.

Create online PDF forms with database backend
I created a PDF form using LiveCycle. I want to put this form on my website so that when my users fill it out, the data goes into an online database. At the end of each month, I would like to be able to export this database as CSV for reporting purposes. How do I go about in setting this up. Please help, I have been searching this forum for over an hour now and I am not able to find the solution.
Thanks in advance.

How to create online log in standby instance?
Oracle say that:
Step 3 Create an Online Redo Log on the Standby Database
Although this step is optional, Oracle recommends that an online redo log be created
when a standby database is created. By following this best practice, a standby database
will be ready to quickly transition to the primary database role.
The size and number of redo log groups in the online redo log of a standby database
should be chosen so that the standby database performs well if it transitions to the
primary role.
But when I execute "ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE ('/opt/oracle/oradata/orcl/redo01.log') SIZE 50M;" in standby instance,I get the follow message:
ORA-01275: Operation ADD LOGFILE is not allowed if standby file management is automatic.
How could I do?Hello xyz_hh ;
Your post is just a little vague so I'm guessing you are referring to "3.2.6 Start the Physical Standby Database" in "Data Guard Concepts and Administration"
If this is correct, this is part of "Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating a Physical Standby Database"
Assuming I right so far you are try to "Create an Online Redo Log on the Standby Database".
Can you confirm along with you OS, and Oracle version?
If you are trying to create redo on the standby after the fact you will need to make this change before you proceed.

Creating Online Documentation With Conditional Text
I'm fairly new to conditional text and was curious if it was possible to create a document that can be hosted online with conditional text. The document versions need to contain links specific to each company referencing the document. For example, if Microsoft wanted to access their version, the documentation would provide links to their own documentation that relates to the subject being discussed. However, if Adobe wanted to access the same document, it would give them their own links as opposed to Microsoft's links. If it is possible, what method does Frame use to distinguish between the user accessing the documentation? Would users be authenticated through User ID and Password?
Thank you in advance,
JohnHi Van,
Thank you for your response. I was thinking that the way conditional text worked is that it basically created three different versions (files) housed as one file and the versions could be somehow referenced individually from within the main file. Obviously this is not the case, but it still would have made the process of hosting the documentation online fairly easy. I'll look into Air and see if it can kind of work like what I was looking for, but if all else fails, we could always just host each of the seperate versions.

After a steep learning curve, and help from the forum, I have
my clients new site up:
www.entwyne.com
Next step is to fill the product pages.... I need to create
an online shop...
The hard part is making it so my client can update, ad new
products and include a Paypal button.
I want to do something simple like this:
http://www.mariecristine.com/?&mp=Default&class=inventory&id=SP71&cid=SP1035
Anybody know of some easy online tutorials?
Or a little program that takes the pain out of it?
I have explored
http://www.plogger.org/ ... and
Photoshops automate web photo gallery.
Not sure they are quite right for the job.Hello,
The page you showed as an example of what you want to do is
simple in layout
only.
What makes it work is very complex.
It involves Server Side Language and a database. Essentially,
an
application.
There is also a "back end", which is the administration part
of the website
where the client can add new products or photos, edit
descriptions or
prices, delete products, add stock, control shipping charges
and so on.
Take a look at webassist.com (their eCommerce suite) or
Cartweaver.com for a
solution..
Check out Cartweaver's demo of the admin section for an
example of what your
client would need to update and maintain the store.
Click around through the menu.
http://www.cartweaver.com/demos/php/basic/cw3/Admin/
Essentially, all the forms are for the client to add to or
edit things in
the database. Server Side Language defines how this works.
To go back to the public side of the site,
You need the list of products to show so people can click on
one to get a
"details" page with a bigger photo, more information, an add
to cart button
and so on.
Briefly, VERY briefly, this is one way things happen:
There is a menu list of products for sale on the home page of
the site.
This list comes from the database. It's in the database as
the client used
the admin section of the site to define what products he or
she has.
A Server Side Language (SSL) takes the information from the
database, and
"draws" the menu on the page.
So, one of the products is rings.
You click on "rings", in the menu and a "product page"
displays.
Again, the information on the products page comes from the
database.
Your client used the admin section of the site to enter all
of the ring
types into the database and to add photos.
Now, when this page opens, the fact that you picked rings
defines how this
page is built dynamically.
(There is not a separate page for all products..that would be
insanely
manual if there were a lot of products.)
The SSL pulls all the ring names and short descriptions out
of the database,
and builds a table on the page big enough to hold
the number of rings. It inserts the link to each ring's image
into each
cell, so the image will display on the page.
It then adds a link to each cell, so the user can click on
that and get more
details about the ring.
Now, you click on a certain ring.
A "details" page opens.
Information about this specific ring is gathered from the
database and drawn
onto the details page.
A bigger picture, a long description, an add to cart
button.....
Again, there is not a different page for each product. There
is 1 details
page, and the SSL creates the page dynamically (on the fly)
based on which
product someone wanted more info on.
Lastly, you want this ring.
You click on the "Add to Cart" button.
A cart view opens showing what is in the cart.
This, too, is built by the SSL using the database.
You can proceed to checkout, or continue shopping and add
more things to the
cart.
It is complex.
Luckily, applications like Cartweaver and Webassist can do
most of the work
for you.
They build the admin section and all the dynamic pages.
You just "style" things to match your site.
You will need to get familiar with setting up a testing
server on your
computer, as you can't test SSL pages locally without one.
I know Cartweaver comes with great instructions on how to do
this.
I would assume WebAssist does as well, I've heard their
support is great.
Time to start reading!
Take care,
Tim
