Creating page in Portal

Hi all,
I have to create a page in portal with one folder and inside folder i have to include few reports or report links. The folder should be in favorites, apart from this, nothing should be displayed in that page.
Can anyone tell me how to create a page in portal.

Hi Venkatesh,
Login into the Portal with admin role,
In the content Admin tab,
First create a folder
Then create iviews-> Assign them to page -> Pages to roles
For each report link create an iview of type url iview and give the link.
Like wise create as many iviews equal to number of links and assign all the iviews to the page.

How to Create HTML page from portal

Hi
I have a requirement to create html pages from portal.
There will be an author who can choose document type as HTML
and then he will write html codes on saving it should be saved as HTML doc in UCM.
and publisher should be able to display it on portal(may be using content presenter).
please help me in this. I know there is rich text editor task flow which can save a doc as doc file.
and in spaces we have option of creating HTLM file but i don't know how to do it for my portal.

A better way would be to create the page using approach in this blog:

That way the page can be edited inline and the html author need not upload html to ucm everytime.

How to create pages & portal

I am new to Oracle portal. i am using Oracle 3.0.
i am working on an application in portal. i have created n number of forms, reports, dynamic pages, menus, sub menus & lovs etc. currently i access my application in a raw manner. first login , then go to the navigator link then applications & click on menu.
my menu is a single entry point to my application. how can i publish this. i.e what i want to do is the moment user logs in he should straight away get the menu view.
I have read there is something by which we can create pages & publish them.
Could someone tell me how to create a page where i can drop my components such as menu , forms & reports on to it & then create a complete portal.
I can see a create page in my oracle portal but the moment i try to add a portlet in that page it gives me option for adding an appliction only what i want to add is the componenets(such as menus, forms etc) residing inside my application.
what it gives me is 2 options 1 to edit & the other to navigate the application only, here i can see my components but cannot include them in my page.

How to change the start up page in Portal Framework..

Hii guys...
I have created a webcenter portal framework application, with two new pages - a myLogin page and a Document page(which will display content from webcenter content).
The pages are working fine.
I simply want to display the myLogin page when i run the application as startup page.
For this i have made changes into the index.html fine by changing the url to the "webcenter/portalapp/pages/myLogin"
When i run the application for the first time its working fine..
But when i am running it for the second time the page is automatically redirecting to some login.jsp and keep getting refresh.
I also tried running myLogin page directly by making changes in the welcome file option in web.xml.
I have deleted index.html from welcome file list and instead added the myLogin page.
But when i run the application it automatically load the index.html and the same problem continues.
Do anyone knows where i am making mistake or what changes should i make to simply display the myLogin page when i run the application..!!

How to get rid of the Login page in Portal?

Hi Guys,
I have a newly developed intranet portal project for my company which does not need login no more. I hope you can help me how to get rid of the login page in portal which is I know in every application you create, there should be a login. Is this possible that I can just simply type in to the URL address bar my application then it will no longer ask for any logins? Please help! Many thanks!

Hi Russel,
You can give public access to pages, applications etc. Users won't need to supply a username/password then, while you still can hide some of the pages to authorized people.
Check the access tab for pages and the manage tab for applications.

Webdynpro Application Page in portal in CE7.1

I have created a webdynpro application with property u201Csap.canBeSplitInIviewsu201D set to u201Ctrueu201D.I have deployed the application and in Portal Content I have created a webdynpro page out of this application.So now my webdynpro page is having two iviews.
Now I want to know the answers for below questions
1)Can we embed a url iview it in to the above created Webdynpro Application page in portal.I tried for it but couldnu2019t do so.
2)So,as an alternative I created a Page,added the above created Webdynpro Application page and a url iview to that page.Now that url iview is displayed along with the Webdynpro iview.Bot the problem is url iview is getting refreshed when ever I click a button in the webdynbpro application view .It even refreshes when I select a table row in webdynpro.
Please let me know if we can prevent url iview to refresh.

No, I don't think so.

For the parent page which hosts both the WD and the URL iview, set the property Isolation Method to URL. You can find this property under the property category Load.

Assign biz role through CRM -SU01 and display page at portal

HI, SDN Fellows.
I am creating some custom portal roles at portal and mapped it to the custom business roles for some PCUI screens at crmc_blueprint_c --> "Assign Portal Role to Single Role" ("Assignment of CRM Role to Portal Role").
Currently, our portal UME data source is mapped to CRM system.
Right now, I have to assign both the CRM Role through SU01(to have access the CRM Object Method at CRM-PCUI application) and Portal Role through User Admin of WAS/portal (to access/display the PCUI iView in the portal).
My goal is to just assign role through CRM-SU01 and achieve the same output as I described above. Meaning can I just do the role assignment for the CRM role (through SU01) and able to access to the CRM-PCUI application through portal (able to see the pcui screen)?

What I want is when I assign a role (Sales Manager) said user A in CRM system, userA should able to see the related workset/page/iviews in the portal (without the need to assign the same: Sales Manager role in portal).
Now, what I have to do is assign the related objects into a single/composite roles in CRM (for backend data access), then I have to assign a portal role (through User Admin of Portal, so that they can see the portal content),
is that a way we can do it in one step?

Creating pages automaticaly by importing deploymetn script

Hi,
i want to deploy my application on weblogic portal server . I have lots of portlets in my application . As per my requirement i want each portlet to be added on a individual page .
I want few questions in mind.
1. Can i import deployment descriptor xml to create pages and add portlets in them .
2. how to create a deployment script.

I don't know of any "descriptor" way of doing this, but you should look at the Propagation capabilities in WLP and see if scripting a propagation will satisfy your needs. For instance, you can create your pages with the portlets in a staging system, export those pages into a propagation inventory file and then (repeatedly) run a script on production that will import that inventory after your redeployment.

Hi,
First go to the navigator and click on the pages tab. From there click on create page link. Give the name of the page and finish with the page wizard. Then click on the created page from the navigator. Edit the page by clicking on the edit page link. Click on the "Add Portlet" icon and from there drill down into the application where the component is and then add it to the page. Make this page the default page for the users, who should see it when they log in.

How to develop Portlet - Create Page

Does anyone know which APIs I can use to create a portlet for create portal page?
The user just need inform the "page name" and the portlet return the "page id", just it.
I need to do that because i don´t want give privilegies for the user .

Masthead: contains branding elements, user identification, and the appropriate (based on the portal configuration) function links from among Help, Personalize, New Session, Log Off and Log On.
In the Portal Catalog, go to Portal Users --> Standard Portal Users --> Default Framework Page --> Masthead iView, and in the Help Link URL property, enter the URL of the site you want launched when the user clicks the Help link.

I did this using an unpublished API - it took some experimentation but worked great at the end. I used a page template in release 2 of Portal. the idea was that when a user added a project we would programatically create a page for that project. In that manner their portal would end up with several hundred pages, one for each project, that were created and look similar as they added project information for their company. Here is an example from the code using Oracle's API, wwpob_api_page.create_page - if you open up the specification for this package in a pl/sql browser such as TOAD you will see some comments that help explain how to use it:

Error while creating a new entity row in Create Page

I am facing a problem while coming to the Create Page from the Search page.In the process request of the controller i am initializing the row of the table like below

Creating Page Format In Quality

I want to create a new page format, for the purpose I did the following...
spad-> Full Administration-> Device Types-> Page Format-> Change-> Create-> (Page Format=ZA4, Orientation=Landscape, Paper Size (Width=215 mm, Height=300 mm))
When I click on save, a pop window opens and shows the massage Object can only be created in SAP package
Pressing enter it asks Package under attributes
What to select in Package is my problem? Please help....
