Creating passwords or security on a router that ISNT an airport

Hello,
I have a router 'canyon wf514' and I have connected it to my modem. The internet works wirelessly, but I can't set up any passwords to secure the network. I have tried using Airport utility, but it can't find the device. This should all be easy to do, but I can't work out how to do it. Any ideas?

Non-AirPort devices typically use a web-based interface to administer them. For example, Linksys router can be accessed by typing 192.168.1.1 in a web browser. Yours, most likely, uses the same type of interface. I suggest reviewing the owner's manual or downloading a copy to see how to access it. The AirPort Utility will only work with AirPorts or Time Capsules.

Model BEFW11S4 wireless router, set up by my daughter a couple years ago, with no password. I've read that access passwords are wise for security, and to prevent your neighbors from using your connection. I have ZoneAlarm firewall and AVG antivirus, but apparently my router should also require a password for extra security?
The router was set up on a Windows 98 computer, and replacement XP has been connected for a year w/no problems. I tried the web utility, but it didn't accept 191.168.1.1 password. The window to enter password wasn't the "XP" window, so maybe using a different computer than used for original setup is the problem?
Also saw "firmware upgrades" mentioned, and don't know what this is about. Any advice regarding need for password, proper security settings, and how to do them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

for changing any settings on the router , follow these steps :
1)connect the computer to the router
2)open IE and go to http://192.168.1.1 . on the login screen...keep the username blank and the default password is "admin"....if it does not accept this , it means the router password was changed sometime....
3)if u do not remember the password , reset the router for 30 seconds and do a power cycle...try "admin" in the password again...
4)get to the router ui...go to the "wireless" tab and click on "wireless security" subtab....u can set up a security mode from here...
5)for changing the router login password , go to the "administration" tab and change it..
6)if u have a different kinda screen from what i am talking about....u will frind the wireless security settings on the set up page itself....and for changing the router password , click on the "password" tab and change it....

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with FaceTime. It sounds like your Apple ID password is not being recognized.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

Go to Appleid.apple.com and choose Manage ID you can change them from there.
You can add a rescue email if you don't have one there too.

Instead of dragging points back to the road every time it pulls you onto a faster route, can I just say "use RT20 as much as possible?"
Or as simple as choosing a point on a US Route and selecting the entire length as a trip. The idea is to plan trips throughout the USA avoiding interstates, and staying on the actual original routes.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

The security questions will only be asked on the first purchase on a computer or device (though people have occasionally posted that they've asked for them when it isn't the first time) - I'm not aware of any way to change that. You can force the password to be required on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password set to 'Immediately' (the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need re-entering)

i didnt say that its working fine with ATG REST. i mentioned that its working fine with 10.0.2 version of ATG but not with ATG10.1.1 . Then update it to new email address. Creating a new AppleID is usually not a good thing as anything on your old account will not be transferred to your new account.

Restoring it will not delete it.
You need to turn it off (Settings > iCloud - Delete account then re-enable it with updated AppleID.
This is the ONLY way you can do it.

Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.

I have an application thats uses a third party service (so i have no control over it).
In order to authenticate i have a pfx cert with a private key.
I click the URL to access the service and IE tells me the page is not found.
I import the pfx cert using all the default settings (automatically select the store etc) and inserting the private key password provided.
Click the same URL and i can access the site and its services.
Everything now works as expected locally.
I move this application to a Windows Server 2008 R2 after hosting in IIS and followed the above steps except i get the error message "Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.". So i followed all the related articles but non seem to work which leaves
me to believe this is a server issue/configuration that needs to be carried out in order for it to work.
The issue is im not sure where to start as ive looked at the event log viewer and nothing is listed in either Application or Security to narrow down the problem. Could anyone assist on how to resolve this issue?

Im using an ASP .Net app. Manufacturer consulted - issue with server config.
Going further i used an admin account for the application pool and everything worked straight away.
I went one step further and used httpwebCertcfg assuming that would resolve the issue but hasnt.... i didnt wanna continue running further commands (i ran the command on
local machine/Current user on the Personal store for users IIS_USR, Network service which resulted in the same issue)
So question now would be how to give access to whatever for the app pool user which is currently set as ApplicationPoolIdentity?
