Creating photo folders?

Got ios5 but I still don't know how to create some new photo folders following a trip to France and the middle east.  Be much nicer if my almost 600 photos were better organized.

If you have iOS 5, then at the top right of the Albums selection view in Photos you should have an Edit button. Tap that and you can create a new album and you then select which photos to copy into it - the photos are copied/pointed to from the new album, so if you delete the original of the photo it also removed from any album that you've copied it into

How do I create photo folders in my IPad ?

You have to create the folders on your iMac first, then sync with your iPad using iTunes.  Then, the folders show up as albums on the iPad.

  • Creating Photo folders in itunes?

how can I create foto folders in itunes so that I do not have all fotos in one folder on my ipad?

I'm pretty sure that's haw it works on a pc. On a Mac I organize myq photos in iPhoto. When syncing my iPad, under photos, I see a list of all the albums I have in iPhoto and I can choose which albums I want synced to my iPad.
I'll assume it works the same way on your pc. Select the main photo folder under photos in iTunes on your Pf. I'm expecting you will then see a listof the folders you created so you can choose which ones will sync.

  • Help with creating photo folders!!!

I have a 30 gig photo and I finally got around to loading photos on the thing. The only problem is that I can figure out how to create seperate folders. Right now, all of my photos are all lumped together in the "Photo Library" link on my pod and I would really like to organize them.
Does anyone know how to do this. I am using Adobe Photoshop elements 4.0. Any help would be appreciated since I can't find any other info on apples site. Thanks

That doesn't help. I tried it and all the images in one folder went straight into the library. I need to be able to see each folder's name on my iPod so I can runa slideshow of that folder - not every single image on my iPod. Is this possible?
    Sorry, no.

It is a hard one.. laptops with small drives are a pain.
What you need is a home media server.
Some people use a PC running itunes for cost.. but that is nothing like as good as using a Mac mini.. they make great little HTPC device.. you can plug in large hard disks and store all your files and media. And share it with the network.. Read up apple's instructions on home sharing.
    https://www.apple.com/au/support/homesharing/
For cost you can buy a mini from 2011 or 2012.. I would not recommend earlier ones.. the advantage of 2012 is they have USB3 ports. But you will pay more for them.. new mini is not as useful.. they have soldered in memory and you cannot upgrade.. the old mini was the most easily modified mac in the whole range. Uses little power and can be bought for a $300US for a good one second hand.. maybe less.

  • How do I created multiple folders within folders in "Photo"

How do I created multiple folders within folders (subfolders) in "Photo".  It happens in the first level when I use the Albums folder, but thereafter it doesn't allow me to create another folder within the folder.  I can also not drag a folder into another, after the first level of folders.  Please help.

Yes you can.  Click once on the top folder and use the File ➙ Create Folder menu option.  A new folder will be created inside the selected folder:

  • How do you create multiple photo folders or shows

When I import photos they all go into the same album, photo library. How do I set up more albums? Even when I import from different folders on my MAC they go to the same album.
Also how do I delete photos once they are on the iPod?
    Many Thanks,

If you want to get the photos from your own folder structure instead of from iPhoto, create a main folder for all the photos you want to have on your iPod (your Photo Library) and create whatever folders inside it that you want. Select the main folder as the "Sync photos from" in iTunes and sync your iPod photos. The subfolders you create will appear on your iPod.

  • How to create new folders in photos?

I am sure this is simple but damned if I can find it.. how do you create new folders in Photos? I have camera roll but I want to create others..

If you are wanting to organise your photos on the fly on the iphone Im afraid you cant. But you can create a folder structure on your computer and from there sync those folders to your iphone.

  • How do I create photo album folders or files ? As it stands, ihave some 500 pics saved but only want to play some of them for a slideshow presentation?

How do I create file folders or photo albums to save photos in specific designated area for subsequent playback as a slideshow. As it stands, I have approx 500 photos in new I Pad 2, however need to only play about 30 in a slideshow. Thank you

For the Photos app you need to put the photos into different folders on your computer and then sync those folders to the iPad - you need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad in one go, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad. There are third-party apps that you can copy photos to on the iPad which I think might allow you to do slideshows, but I havn't used any of them.
With iOS 5 in the Autumn you will (assuming that it makes it to the final release) be able to (from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos) :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device.

When you are in Album view in the Photos app - tap the edit button in the upper right corner - tap the X in the corner of the album to delete it.

  • When importing photos it always creates sub folders.  I do NOT want that.

How do I stop it from creating sub folders every time I import photos?

Have a look at thei video on importing: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-5/lightroom-5-imp orting-your-images/

  • What's the best way to move photo folders from internal to external HD using LR to track change?

I am trying to move my photo folders from Pictures on an iMac running Mavericks to an external HD as my main photo storage and to do so with LR 5.6 keeping track of the folders. I have 20K plus photos in the Catalog in the iMac's HD and wouldn't want LR to loose track of the photos. I am not creating duplicates but moving all the files w/original photos and edits.
Is there a good and safe method to use LR to perform this task?

In your operating system, move the photos to the external HD, keeping the folder structure unchanged, and then in Lightroom reconnect using these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • Additional photo folders take too much iphone space

    Hi there,
I have a problem with my pictures and the way iPhone handles them.
I have an iPhone 4S and a PC. The problem I have is that I have 2 additional camera folders on my iPhone: I have the standard "Camera roll", and after updating iTunes last time I got "Photo Library" and "iPhone [my name]", they just appeared without my knowledge. I didn't create those folders and I don't need them. I would like to delete them without deleting my other photos from the camera roll.
The main problem with those folders is that itunes says that my pictures/videos use 9.6GB of space, but when I check them out in Windows, it says only 1.3GB. My camera roll folder has 100 pics and 2 videos, but those other folders have like 356 pics and 10 videos. On my iphone I currently have only those pictures that camera roll sees. It's much closer to 1.3 because  100 pics and 2 short videos can't be 9GB! So I guess those duplicate folders are filling the iphone with useless data.
I never sync photos, I just copy them from my iPhone to my PC folder manualy. I don't want to sync photos as I want different pics on my iPhone and on my PC - on my iphone I want just a few pics that I want to show to other people (like my baby, cats etc), and on my PC I want all the pics I ever took.
What am I missing? Do I have to do something with photo sync or is there an option in the itunes that I can delete those old photos? Can I manualy delete something from the "Iphone [my name]" folder on my PC or something?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pikka

I'm running iOS 5.1 on my iPhone4 and my new iPad3. But I never saw this color effect on my iPhone3G or iPod2G as well. I did sync some slideshows as well, but that is done on a Mac, not a Windows PC.
What are the settings on your camera when you shoot the photos? Is the sRGB profile embedded by the camera? Any RAW formated pictures involved?

  • New Photo Folders for Ipod Touch

How do I make new folders for certain photo groups for my Ipod Touch.I have folders already made up on my computer with the photos I want in them, but when I go to upload them on my touch,it puts all my photos under photo library.I know you can make new folders and name them,so could someone tell me how?? Thanks

It's simple. On a Windows system you place all your photo folders in the My Pictures folder. When you sync and tap on Photos on the touch you'll see at the top Photos Library with a count of every photo you have. That is created by the iPod and you can't remove it (you can, but it will come back). Then you'll see each folder you put in My Pictures. Tap on any one of them and you'll see all the photos in that folder!
So just set up your My Pictures to have a set of folders, each of which has the pictures you want under each name.
