Creating photo slideshow on iPad 2

Hi all,
Brand new iPad user here and was wondering if the iPad 2 has the capability of creating your own photo slideshows?
Is there an app where I can do this? i.e. arrange photos, add transitions/effects, music, titles etc?
Many thanks

Yes, I already know that I can tap to get full screen view, but that is far less convenient. I want to be able to see a larger thumbnail so that I can easily select several at once to either move or delete. Thanks any way!

  • Create iPhoto Slideshow on iPad of Entire Album

I'm on an iPad running ios 7.0.4.  Does anyone know how can I create a slideshow in iPhoto of an entire album without having to click on each individual photo? (My album has hundreds of photos..)  This Apple Support page describes two ways of creating a slideshow, but they both require clicking on each photo individually:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11976?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Alternatively, if anyone knows of a 3rd-party app that will allow that, I'd love to hear about it.
    Thank you,
    William

I am trying to create a slideshow on DVD for a
client. His business is a small newspaper. For an
upcoming tradeshow, he wants to have a large display
with a slideshow of each page of the paper scrolling
across the screen, flipping to the next page, etc. I
figured iPhoto would be an excellent tool to do it
without much labor, using the Ken Burns effect to pan
the full length of each page. It works perfectly on
my Mac display and looks great.
Even the exported video looks OK when I preview it in
    iDVD.
However, once it goes to DVD, the visual quality is
worthless. I expected serious degradation of text
quality since it is only 720 pixels wide. The text
isn't as sharp, but it is readable.
The big problem is that as it scrolls, it looks like
the the images pass behind a grid of prisms that
refract everything. The disruptive lines are about
1/4 inch apart, so the whole TV screen is a mess,
it's impossible to watch. At first I thought it may
be an issue with the scan rate of the TV, but the
same thing happens when I play the DVD back on my
    notebook PC and my Mac.
I set the iDVD preview window and the DVD Player
window side by side and played them together. The
iDVD preview was fine, the DVD player window gives me
    a headache.
What can be causing this, and is there any way to
change a setting in iPhoto or iDVD to prevent it?
What resolution are you using for the slides? I have done several DVDs with slide shows as an option (training DVDs) and it's always worked well. I am using PNG and JPEG files with at least 150dpi resolution. I've even used Contrictor to snap screen shots of some PDF files with good results. I am using a 17" screen so again, I'm getting as much resolution as I can before I stick them into the DVD slide show.

  • Creating photo slideshow in iMovie 09

    Hi guys,
I have been given the advice to create a photo slideshow in iMovie.
So far I have manage to sort out my photos and import them using iPhone and the Finder but am now up to the stage of putting the photos in the slide show.
There are quite a number of photos and I think by using the Ken Burns effect on every slide is a little overwhelming.
Is there any way I can use any of the other effects like just a simple fade-in?

AppleMan1958 gives you some good information. I have reviewed an earlier version of the slideshow feature of iPhoto on my website and have a short sample slideshow created using iPhoto.
Here is the link to my free photo slideshow software review of iPhoto.

I also provide information on creating a slideshow, choosing the music, etc.
    Good luck.

  • Creating photo book on iPad

    Hello,
I am getting the impression that I can't use my new  iPad for creating photo books from my snapfish/shutterfly accounts?  One of the big reasons I got an iPad was to continue my hobby of making photo books online, having the photo books be created by snapfish, and then paying for them to be created and sent to me.
Do u know of any other way around this? I feel like an idiot for not investing this before purchasing an iPad, and hope that I don't need to buy a lap top/desk top.
    Thanks,
    Molly

    Hi Molly,
Adobe makes several iPad apps for working with photos but none currently for creating the type of photobooks which are commercially printed and mailed to you. Adobe Lightroom 4 which was just released has features for creating photo books of this type, but that runs on a computer not on an iPad obviously. Adobe makes a program called Adobe Revel, which allows you to upload your photos to a cloud service to be able to view all your photos on all your devices (iPad, iPhone, Mac, and eventually on Windows computers). Adobe Revel, like Lightroom, allows you to apply non-destructive global edits and effects to your images and supports sending out to Email, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr. I'm not aware of any apps that allow you to do what you are seeking, you might check with Snapfish and Shutterfly to see if they have recommendations.

  • Creating Photo Slideshows w/Audio

Can FCE be used to create elaborate photo slideshows with music and can the photo source come from my photo library (not from I-Photo)?

Yes, you can use all the effects and transitions that FCE has to offer. You can use any photos or artwork provided it is on a file that FCE can import eg. .tif, .jpeg etc.
You need to watch out for interlacing artifacts and also be warned that your fantastically impressive pictures will look a little less impressive when viewed on a TV.

  • Creating photo slideshows

I create a lot of photo slideshows, usually for high school graduations, sports team season wrapups, community-wide events, etc. Which prograpm in CC is best to use to easily import about 100-130 photos, set them to music with animations such as Ken Burns effect? The slideshow tool in Lightroom is a little too basic. I've used a program called FotoMagico, but it's too buggy an not precise. Any suggestions would help greatly. Someone suggested Premiere Pro, but that seems like a lot of steps to apply movement to each slide.
    Thanks.

Ask in the Photoshop Elements Forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop_elements to see what people do for making slideshows
I'm not sure, but you MAY need to buy the Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements bundle to be able to burn to DVD

  • Creating photo album in ipad

How can we create a photo album from the iPad and not from iTunes?

It's not possible I'm afraid. It has to be done on the computer and then the folders ( albums ) synced with the iPad through iTunes.

  • Newb help on creating photo slideshow with different music tracks

I am interested in ultimately creating a DVD for a friend with pictures of their family. I would like to have different soundtracks play with fading in and out if possible; different effects on the transitions too (if possible). With iLife I know you could just use iDVD and play 1 track in the background. I would like to try iMovie.
I couldn't find any support tutorials or information in Apple Support.
Can anyone tell me or direct me to a place that would give the steps for a slide show, adding music, and exporting to DVD?
    Thanks.

Can you enlighten me on this? and what program would you recommend for this?
While this can be done totally in iMovie '08, my preference would be to add the audio using GarageBand.
    1) iMovie '08 strategy: In iMovie '08, simply create your video slideshow track first. Once satisfied with the video, titles, transitions, start adding your audio. Simply drag an audio file from the media browser or "drop import" a file from the Finder and "pin" it a your video clip. Once pinned to a video clip, adjust the "in" and "out" handles to select the exact portion of the music you want and adjust the fade in/out if necessary. When you have finished with this, slide the music to align it with the video track as desired. Now repeat theses steps to add the rest of your music.
NOTE: I prefer pinning all of the music to video clips so I can control the overlap. (I.e., have one file fade out as another is fading in.) However, there is a problem if you want the music to start during a "title" segment which does not overlap the actual slideshow video. In this case you may wish to place the first music file in the background and use the "Trim Music" option to select the actual portion to play in the background since you cannot slide background music for alignment to the video.
    2) If you plan to use GarageBand, share/export your iMovie '08 video only project to your hard drive and then import it to a GarageBand Podcast project. In this case, each music file can be placed in a single audio track after appropriate trimming, or occupy its own audio track/alternate between two audio tracks to allow overlapping of files if desired. I prefer GarageBand since you can control the volume of individual tracks continuously, create custom fade contours, adjust track/master volumes as a whole independently, adjust the emphasis of frequency response ranges, "pan" the music, etc. as you mix and match your "musical collage" of sounds.

  • Creating Photo Slideshows in FCExpress

I've been putting together slideshows for friends and family using FCE and I'm hoping that I'm fully utilizing all of the tools I have at my disposal. First of all, is FCE the best program to use for slideshows (I don't have fcpro) among the iLife extended family? I assume it is. I want to learn to do more than just the basic motion and transitions that I've learned. I've utilized the keyframes, although I haven't gotten super-complex with them yet. Here's an example of one that I just finished. While I'm familiar with the available transitions, I prefer basic cross-fades most of the time. This will show the extent of my keyframe ability so far.

Does anyone know where I can go to view demos or examples of slideshow work done on FCE. I just want to get ideas on how to do more with what I have. I just feel like anybody can do a basic slideshow with powerpoint, I need to separate myself. Thanks people.

All canned methods will tend to yield canned results.
Per your desire to "set yourself apart" from the rest, I'd say your own imagination and creativity is the best tool available to you.
See examples of other peoples work on the 'net and experiment with doing things differently and you will find your way Grasshopper.

  • Creating photo slideshow in imovie without any effects

Hi, When I am trying to make a photo slide-show video in imovie, every photo comes with zoom-in and out effect. I dont like that one. I just want to show photos one after another without any effect. But I couldnt find any option in imovie. Is it possible to make one?
Please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance!
    Jay

Click on the small icon at the top center of any photo in iMovie. You will see the options Fit, Crop, Ken burns, Done. I think you will like the Ken Burns effect after you experiment with it a bit. If you want just plain photos, click Fit and Done.
    Good luck.

  • Photo slideshow sequence

I'm starting to create a slideshow on iPad 2 and would like to know how to control the sequence of the photos.
Photos were downloaded from my PC during a resyncing.
Not sure which operating system I'm using.  How do you tell?

Slideshows in the Photos app can either in random or in the order in which they appear in the album, so if you want them in a different order you will need to change their order prior to syncing (photo sorting : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221).
You can tell which version of iOS that you are on via Settings > General > About > Version

  • Photo slideshow software

i've been using imovie to create photo slideshows, sometimes incorporating motion 4 into my projects... does anyone have a suggestion for a software that provides additional templates and design that i can incorporate with imovie? or final cut? thanks

I personally prefer using imovie because I am an imovie-holic!
It really just boils down to which application you are more familiar with. both do a great job, IMHO. Some say that the quality of the photo is better with iphoto, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder-I don't see much (if any) difference.

  • Windows-based photo slideshow software?

    Hi,
I currently use iMovie 06 on my iMac to create photo slideshows/montages but would also like to create similar videos using my laptop (Dell w/ Windows XP). I apologize posting this on a Mac forum but could fellow board members provide me with some names of Windows-based software that is similar in nature and quality as iPhoto/iMovie to create these types of videos (and, if possible, one that does not require a huge learning curve)? I just recently came across "Memories on TV" and "muveeNOW" posted below, respectively.

  • What's the point in creating photo albums on the iPad?

So I took some photos on my iPhone they sync'd to my iPad via photo stream. I then created an album on my iPad and started copying photos from photo stream to the album.. All good.
Now, that album doesn't seem to sync to my iPhone, or to iPhoto or anywhere. Nothing's happening by iCloud, and nothing is sync'd when I sync with iTunes via Wifi or USB. If I plug in by USB, iPhoto has no knowledge of the Album on the iPad.
There are no album-level sharing options (e.g. Publish album to iCloud/Facebook or anything).
So what's the point of creating the album on the iPad?

If you've taken photos with the iPad, and/or synced photos from your computer, then you may want to create an album with just a selection of those photos so that you can then just show those photos in a slideshow on the iPad e.g. you may have taken 100's of photos with the iPad and just want to show those with your children in.

  • I have created a slideshow using i Photo. How do I burn it to disc so that I can play it on my DVD?

I have created a slideshow using i Photo.
How do I burn it to disc to play on a DVD.
    I cannot access i DVD.
    Is this the problem?
I have exported the slideshow as a movie quick time file.
    What do I do next???

If your Mac is a new one, like mine, then it comes with a version of iLife that doesn't have iDVD and if so, there isn't an easy way to burn a DVD from iPhoto or iMovie that will play on a normal DVD player.  There is quite a bit of correspondence about this, but I couldn't find a good answer, apart from this:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18460085#18460085
I ended up buying (via Amazon) a boxed version of iLife11, which has all the same software I already have, but with a copy of iDVD with it.
Seems to work well with iMovie, but at the moment, my copy of iPhoto has crashed - see:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18943719#18943719
Having only just transferred from a Windows machine to a Mac, it seems incredibly arrogant for Apple to think people don't use DVD players anymore.
