Creating Pivot Table in XML Publisher having Completed Warning Status
Hi guys,
I really need you expertise on this. please help :(
- I created a Conc. Program that has XML ouput Named Sales Report.
- Then I connect that to my sales.RTF template.
this is always been what i'm doing and its fine but my case now is that.
- Creating my .RTF template in ms word, I used PIVOT table. It is okay when I loaded the xml there then view ouput.
but when I upload it in oracle and connect to my concurrent Program there report is 'Completed Warning Status'
Does anyone have any idea why? or is there anyway I can produce Pivot report with xls output?
Thanks in advance.
RDBMS : 11.1.0.7.0
Oracle Applications : 12.1.3

Randy

Error when creating pivot table in BI publisher template
When I try to create a chart or pivot in BI publisher it keeps throwing error
'Please load Datasource first'
It allows me to create table so I am not sure why is complaing when creating a pivot.Hi
This error you are getting while creating RTF template right?
yes, before proceeding to use the columns you need to load the XML data of your data model into your template
1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. From the Oracle BI Publisher menu, select Log On.
3. Enter your BI Publisher credentials and the URL for the BI Publisher server. (Contact your system administrator if you do not know the URL.)
4. The Open Template dialog presents the same folder structure as your BI Publisher Reports home page. Select the report for which you want to build a template.
5. Select Open Report to load the data to the Template Builder; or double-click <New> in the Layout Templates pane.
Note that any existing templates will be listed in the Layout Templates pane.
select <New> in Layout template section than select Open layout tempate to get automatically load your data into template..
ELSE
do manually,
in publisher,
after saving your report go to view the report
select data template and import that to your local drive.
now in your MS-Word.. in bi publisher toolbar
you find Data option, then select the load xml and give that path...
after this you can carry on creating charts or tables..
Hope this is what you want..
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
One of our users encountered this problem with Excel 2013 while creating pivot tables, particularly with large files. We tried to modify Virtual Memory
of the pc but error still persist. Why does this happen and how can we resolve this? Thanks.
Another error message encountered by the user, this time when opening large files. The files she tried to open are working fine in 2010. But when opened in 2013, it prompted : "There
isn't enough memory to complete this action. Try using less data or closing other applications."Hi,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Did your user using the Excel 2013 and Excel 2010 with same PC? If not, please let me know the both of the 2 PCs' hardware list/Windows operation system info.
Did you using Excel 2013 32bit version and Excel 2010 64bit version?
General speaking, this issue usually occurs with Office 2013 32 bit version. It has a limitation of 2Gb of memory that can be used by its process. And the 64-bit Excel can handle larger workbooks.
Thus, if your user using 32bit Excel, I recommend try 64bit Excel instead.
Here is a similar issue, we also could try it:

If you have any update, please feel free let us know.

How to extend No. of columns for PIVOT table in BI Publisher Desktop
Hello Everyone,

I need to create the PIVOT table .In my PIVOT table I need to display 9 columns but when I tried to create PIVOT table by dragging 9 columns only first 4 columns are displaying in report.
Can anyone suggest me how can I increase the number of columns in PIVOT table?

Guru.hi jim
if you carefully look inside the form field's you will find the logic of sort . if you remove that you will get the data without any sorting order.
else send me your template and xml to my email id i can look into that .

When including multiple Criteria in the "Rows" section of Pivot Table we get a desired format of Pivot Table in BI Analytics Answers. However, when creating a Pivot Table in a BI Publisher Template, Adding multiple measures in "Rows" results in the creation of duplicate rows.
For example, the desired format is as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AisK8m4TPhzKdDMzeDhfUjBZNTF5NWhleEEtX3piLXc&hl=en_US#gid=0
this appears in BI Analytics Answers.
However, when this table is made in BI Publisher Template, the format is as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AisK8m4TPhzKdFlDQjBGU0NORWltNXp3STE1WTJZUVE&hl=en_US#gid=0
Please help on how to obtain a pivot table in BI Publisher in the desired format.
RegardsWhile making Pivot Tables in RTF, make the rows "inline" rather than "outline".

Disabling auto sort of rows for Pivot Tables in BI Publisher

Can any one tell how to create pivot table
Hi ,
Am trying to create a pivot tabel in the MDM Import Manager. Iam able to see the preview of the pivot table which i want to create. But when i try to click "OK" button, an error message getting displayed like...
"The new table cannot be created because the data source is not updatable.You may need the data source to an updatable format such as Microsoft Access before proceeding".
Due to the above error am not able to create pivot table, plz let me know if any one know how to solve this problem
Thanks & regards
Praveen kHi Praveen ,
The solution to your problem is -
The data source must be updateable in order for MDM to
create the new pivot or reverse pivot table. However, you can still
perform the steps leading up to table creation including the preview
even on a data source that is not updateable, so that you can explore
pivoting or reverse pivoting as a transformation option. If you then
decide you want to actually create the new table, convert the data
source into a format that is updateable (such as Microsoft Access) and
perform the pivot or reverse pivot on the new data source.
To create a pivot table, you must identify the source fields that
participate in the pivot, which ones contain metadata and which ones
contain data, which ones must be combined, the one-to-one
correspondence between metadata and data fields and/or field
combinations, and the key field or fields.
To create a pivot table:
1. In the drop-down list of source tables, make sure the table you want to
pivot is the current source table.
2. In the Source Hierarchy tree, select all the field nodes corresponding to
both the metadata fields and the data fields by which you want to pivot.
3. Right-click on one of the nodes and choose Create Pivot Table from the
context menu, or choose Source > Create Pivot Table from the main
menu
4. MDM opens the Create Pivot Table dialog
5. In the Key Fields dual-list drop-down control, move one or more fields
from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list to identify the
key fields on which to perform the pivot
6. In the dual-list control of fields, drag-and-drop the data fields from the
Field Values Become Field Names list to the Field Values Become
Field Values list
7. If necessary, select two or more fields in either list that must be
combined into a field combination, and click on the Combine button, or
right-click on one of the fields and choose Combine from the context
menu
8. If necessary, drag-and-drop fields or field combinations within each list
to create the one-to-one correspondence between metadata fields and
data fields.
9. Click on the Preview button to display a preview of the first ten records
of the pivot table
10. When you have verified that the pivot operation you have defined will
have the desired effect, click OK to close the Create Pivot Table dialog.
11. The MDM Import Manager creates a new table named table <Pivot>
in the data source (where table is the name of the original source
table).
12. In the drop-down list of source tables, select the newly created pivot
table on which to perform subsequent import processing.
Hope that helps ...

I'm new to BI (XML) Publisher and Pivot Tables. I have XDO Engine version 5.6.3 and Template builder 10.1.3.4.1. I creates a Word 2010 RTF template containing a pivot table. When I preview in Word, it displays. When I execute the Concurrent Request in Oracle 11, it ends with an error.
I see this error in the log. I'm assuming I forgot to do something or did it incorrectly.
Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XPathException: Namespace prefix 'crosstab' used but not declared.
What am I doing incorrectly? How do I resolve?

Understanding code behind Pivot tables in BI Publisher
Hi All ,
Is there any pointer which will help me to understand the code involved in Pivot table or crosstab.I went through the XML publisher user guide and it helped me to understand a bit.But the coding behind the pivot tables generated by the BI Publisher Desktop is completely different and especially the very first line e.g (<?crosstab:c594;"//r";"LOCATION{,o=a,t=t}";"SUBLOCATION{,o=a,t=t}";"AMOUNT";"sum"?>).
Also how the Dynamic variables (preceding with $) Play a role in Pivot table generation?
Thanks!!!table name, row_element_names, column, cell value , to sum or not.

Pivot table in BI Publisher: Different aggregate functions in data columns
Hi, everyone!
I`ve got some troubles with pivot table in my rtf-template.
Here is my xml:
<ROWSET>
<ROW>
<_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>МО Петроградский р-н</_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>
<_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>714000003</_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>
<_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>0.0</_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>2009</_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>8</_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>
</ROW>
<ROW>
<_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>МО Петроградский р-н</_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>
<_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>714000004</_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>
<_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>165.58</_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>2009</_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>7</_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>
</ROW>
<ROW>
<_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>МО Петроградский р-н</_BI_SUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_>
<_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>714000004</_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_>
<_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>165.58</_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>2009</_BI_CALENDAR_._YEAR__>
<_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>7</_BI_CALENDAR_._MONTH__>
</ROW>
...... and so on..
</ROWSET>
In the pivot table i`d like to see one row for every BISUBRF_MO_._MUN_NAME_ using BICALENDAR_._YEAR__ and BICALENDAR_._MONTH__ as measures and sum of BIMONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_ and count of unique (or at least just count of) BIPERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_NMB_ in cells.
I create a pivot table using wizard, everything ok except one thing: as i understand, in pivot table for data in rows we can use only one kind of aggregate function e.g. only sum or only count.
Is there any way to use different aggregate functions in data cells?
Thank youAs you can see, when we use crosstab tag we can specify only one aggregate function for data cells.
Is there any way to get in XSL-FO (where we can what really happens) instead of:
<T1>
<xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_UNID_)"/>
</T1>
<T2>
<xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_)"/>
</T2>
this
<T1>
<xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/_BI_PERS_ACCOUNT_CARD_._BI_PAC_UNID_)"/>
</T1>
<T2>
<xsl:value-of select="count(current-group()/_BI_MONTH_DEBET_._BI_DEBET_SUM_)"/>
</T2>

Modify Pivot Table in BI Publisher Template
Hi,
I've a crosstab report requirement in BI Publisher. Suppose I've 2 row-items, 1 column-item(Month) and 3 datapoints. In BI publisher template builder->pivot table wizard I found only option is there to display datapoint columns one after another vertically. So for each Month(column item) 3 columns are coming, total no. of columns for data points: 12x3=36 + 3 Total columns; ie total 39 columns. Also for two row-items 2 columns are coming. So all together in one sheet 41 columns are coming and it has become difficult to manage.
Hence, I want to display the datapoint columns one above another, so that 13 column only (12 columns for datapoints + 1 column for Total) come instead of 39 columns.
Please let me know how can it be done from BI-publisher template builder. Simple XML source taken from a table is used behind this template. Can the requirement be achieved by modifying XML source format or XSL-FO output taken from the template? Please help.
Regards..Insert a table with 3 columns and 2 rows..
split the (2,2) cell into 3 rows and (2,3) cell into 3 rows..
table cell (1,1)<?horizontal-break-table:1?>
(1,2)Sales
(1,3)<?for-each-group@column:SALE;./YEAR?><?YEAR?><?end for-each-group?>
(2,1)<?for-each-group:SALE;./REGION?><?variable@incontext:G1;current-group()?><?REGION?>
(2,2) 1st row Software
2nd row Hardware
3rd row Services
(2,3) 1st row<?for-each-group@cell://SALE;./YEAR?><?sum ($G1[(./YEAR=current()/YEAR)]/SOFTWARE)?><?end for-each-group?>
2st row<?for-each-group@cell://SALE;./YEAR?><?sum ($G1[(./YEAR=current()/YEAR)]/HARDWARE)?><?end for-each-group?>
3rd row<?for-each-group@cell://SALE;./YEAR?><?sum ($G1[(./YEAR=current()/YEAR)]/SERVICES)?><?end for-each-group?><?end for-each-group?>the xml file I used was mentioned in tim's blog in the previous reply of mine...I tried it and I got the desired o/p..

I have done migration Discoverer Admin EUL Layer into OBIEE repository using below methodology.
Navigate to the <installdrive>\OracleBI\server\Bin directory. There are two important files in this directory: the migration assistant executable file named MigrateEUL.exe and a properties configuration file named MigrationConfig.properties.
Could you please help me how to migrate discoverer plus workbooks and worksheets into OBIEE Answers?
go through below link, It will show navigation steps for migrating of EUL from Discoverer to OBIEE.But i need migration of workbooks and worksheets from Discoverer into OBIEE Answers.

Creating pdf report from xml publisher report
Hi,
I'm newbie to xmlpublisher env.
We've a report in Oracle 11i developed in unix shell script and run as concurrent program generating check details which will be printed on checks.
I was asked to migrate this report into R12 in pdf format.They provided rtf template and xml data.I installed xml publisher desktop.I would like to know how I can create pdf template,if necessary changing the position of fields on the template.
Thanks,
KiranHi Kiran,
Sorry to say, but no you can not use the desktop or standalone edition for integration with EBS.
In your case there are 2 alternatives for you:
1) Update the Unix shell script so it's ok for R12 (it did a good job for a long time on 11i)
2) Leave the unix script and redesign for BI Publisher (ebs edition)
Both are taking the same effort in my opinion, only since you moved to R12 it's a good learning moment to get to know the strength of BIP.
Since you task is to modify the standard Oracle solution, which i guess is an rtf template provided download the MS Word plugin and adjust the template
If any detail help needed please contact me directly
