Creating playlists in ZEN M100

Hello, I have a problem. I want to create a playlist in zen m00, but I have no idea how to do it. When I choose 'Playlist' in menu, there's a massage: 'Please sync play list to the player'...

"Re: Creating playlists in ZEN M00?No, it doesn't. I've tried creating playlist with Winamp, Playlist creator and m3udropper. I've followed the instructions to change encoding from a ansi to unicode. Every try results in "the playlist is empty", although?when I open the playlist with notepad I can se all the songs. This is really anoying since I use the player to listen to audiobooks as well. To listen to the chapters played randomly is obviously not an option! When is the firmware update coming?

  • Creating playlists for ZEN To

Just got the 40 gig Touch and love it. My problem is that creating playlists on the Zen is very cumbersome and I would like to create plylists on my PC as I can run a mouse faster than work on the zen. My zen is loaded with songs and I want to make playlists from those files. Can I make them on the synced up zen through mediasource or do I have to make the playlists and then load the songs? Hope someone understands what I'm getting at and any help would be great. Thanks in advance, Brad

It's easy. First You connect Your Zen Touch to PC, then create playlists through MediaSource, Winamp, Audio Catalyst or whatever software You wish. Of course, You have to add songs to playlist from Your Zen Touch, not PC hard dri've (otherwise how did You consider to create playlists before plugging-in Zen Touch)
For example, if You use MediaSource, follow this:
.first of all open it & find the "View" option on the Toolbar. Click on it & put the mark on "Show Right Panel" - this will give add. window to manage your playlists.
2.Find Your Zen Touch in browser, click on it & find "Playlist" sub-catalog. On the playlist toolbar click "New" to create new playlist.
    3. On the right window, that You opened in Step , find Your Zen Touch again, click on it & You will see all songs that You have in Your player.
    4. To add songs from Your player to the playlist use arrow buttons between the windows.
    I hope that will help

  • Creating Playlist On Zen Micro - Adds Entire Album, Not Selected S

I'm attempting to create a playlist while in my Zen Micro. I have a song playing and go to the song and select "Save as Playlist", and I assign it a name. When I go look at the playlist it has included the entire album in the playlist, not just the selected song. Is there any way of adding single tracks rather than entire albums (other than creating them externally using Creative's software)?
    Thanks....

You have to go to the main menu, select Now Playing, a song should show there, then use the bottom right hand option button (right click) and there should be a selection to clear all from Now Playing. I don't have my Zen Micro here with me so I can't tell you exactly what it says in the menu. Once you have done that you can create a play list and individually add songs to it as above. I did this before the gym yesterday and it worked nicely.Message Edited by bhype23 on 0-9-2005 09:36 PM

  • Problems creating playlists for Zen Vision M 3

This is more a problem with Media Explorer than the player itself. When I go to create a new playlist it doesn't list the music subfolders in alphabetical order. Instead, the latest stuff I've added is at the bottom of the list.
Let's say I have a Pink Floyd folder on the player and when I put albums on there I put the year of release first. Let's say I have three folders with these names.
973 - Dark Side of the Moon
    979 - The Wall
    994 - The Division Bell
However, if I put the Division Bell on first, then Dark Side of the Moon, then the Wall, when I go to make a playlist it will list them in the order that I copied them instead of by the name of the folder.
Is there a way to fix this?

    Anyone?

  • Creating Playlists on Zen To

I Have been told that it is possible to creative Playlists without using the computer. If any one Knows how to, Please tell me.

first of all, play a song or album you want on your playlist.
by pressing the menu button you can add more songs or albums to the 'selected area': when pressing the OK button on the song or album name you have to select "add to selected". that way, that specific song or album is added to your "selected area".
then, when you go to the "now playing" section and press OK, you see all the songs that are in your 'selected area'.
then, when you press the OK button you get the option to save as a playlist...
the rest is in the previous reply
hopefully it's clear now, otherwise, just ask Message Edited by Doockles on 03-06-200603:29 PM

  • Playlists on Zen Nano or MuVo TX FM using 3rd party softw

    Hi everyone,
I know that the Zen Nano / MuVo TX FM / MuVo N200 do not permit the creation of playlists. But if you use a third party software program like Notmad Explorer, can you create playlists? The features page suggests that you *can* create playlists...
    Thanks!

Somebody recently helped me with this here. With the Nano Plus, anyway, Creative gives you Zen Nano Explorer software. You set up your music on the player in folders, and this is how you navigate to albums, artists, "Playlists" or however you have your folders set up. You can create a folder containing the tracks you want in a "playlist", then this software has a utility that allows you to arrange them in the order you want. It appends the track filename with numbers in that order so your tracks play in the order you picked. It acts exactly like a playlist, except it is another regular folder with another copy of your song in it (it cannot create a pointer to the track elsewhere on your player like a REAL playlist can). These little flash players have very simple menus and structure. They can display the title from the ID3 tag, but can't do anything with genre, album, etc. unless you organize folders this way.
The bottom line is that if you want a selected bunch of tracks to play in a specific order, this can be done, and they include the software to do it with the player.

  • How can I use home sharing between our iphones (create playlists from both accounts at once)

How can I use home sharing between our iphones, so that we can create playlists with songs from both of our libraries?  We share a Macbook Pro (separate accounts) and each have the new iphone, but when I have my iphone and try to create a new playlist, I can only grab songs from one account.  Is there a way to create a playlist using both accounts since we are sharing?
Does it have to be created within iTunes first on our Mac?

The short answer: because Home Sharing isn't designed for sharing apps, and apps aren't designed to be shared.
The longer answer:  Think of it like this...
You download some music in iTunes.  With Home Sharing, another user can listen to it by streaming it over the network.  But the data itself is on your computer.  If you turn off the computer or take it off the network, the other user can't access it.
But if you send another user the app, they aren't just streaming the data- they installed it on their iOS device.  Because they weren't the one that purchased it, such a transfer could easily be considered "piracy" or "stealing," and nobody likes that (least of all, Apple).
When iTunes sees this app, it obviously recognized it, as if saying, "Hey, how did you get this app on your device, if I have no record of you purchasing/downloading it from the iTunes store?"

  • Does anyone know how to create playlists step by step?

I am currently using Musicmatch as I found Itunes a bit fiddly but happy to change back if this helps me - may need help with moving them across!
I really want to setup playlists but I'm having a big problem. I have set my IPOD to manual update.
When I setup a playlist, I set it up directly on my IPOD drive within MusicMatch, right click new playlist (not in the playlist library within Musicmatch then sync them).
I thought doing this would mean my IPOD would see it and I wouldn't have to sync my IPOD each time when I load it up to the PC - then I and drag and drop songs to the IPOD playlist but they never appear in the new playlist and just duplicate in my first playlist (which has all my songs in it)- I end up with 2 of everything.
I read on my instructions that I can create playlists without a PC so directly on my IPOD I presume) by navigating to the song using the wheel then selecting the song till it flashes. When I try to select playlists from my menu - playlist is never there.
Am I being stupid? I have Win XP with 4th gen IPOD - haven't updated any software - do I need to do that?
Please help - I keep running out of battery by jumping around to the songs I want to hear! I don't want to put anymore on there now as its already a nightmare getting through the 600 songs!

There is no such thing as an international iTunes account.
If the iTS is available to a particular country and you qualify - address and credit card from that country - you can open an iTS account and shop from the selecton available to that store.

  • I have always been able to create playlists on itunes, then drag them to my ipod when it was plugged into the mac. I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes, and now I am unable to do that. I am able to drag songs and albums but not my playlists.

I have always been able to create playlists on itunes, then drag them to my ipod when it is plugged into the mac. I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes, and now am unable to do that. I can drag songs and albums to the ipod, but not my playlists. It used to be so easy, am I missing something here?

Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod.

  • I have downloaded all my music from the cloud to my new iPhone and created playlists so I can listen to it when not it wifi like when on a plane. If I turn on iTunes Match will I still have this music still downloaded?

I have downloaded all my music from the cloud to my new iPhone and created playlists so I can listen to it when not it wifi like when on a plane. If I turn on iTunes Match will I still have this music still downloaded? The online information suggests all my music will be replaced. Will I have to download it again??

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account."  The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases.  It is also used with iCloud.  iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod.  If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked).  If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod.  When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library.  Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want).  Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs.  Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists.  Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod.

  • Anyone know how to restore the itunes created playlists?

In a fit of stupidity, I deleted the itunes created playlists(purchased music, recently played, etc.). I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get those back on my source list, and also on my ipod mini. I tried to go the smart playlist route, but there is no criteria for recently played or purchased music. Any help would be greatly appreciated:)
    Thanks
    Dell Dimension 3000   Windows XP

"I tried to go the smart playlist route, but there is no criteria for recently played or purchased music"
    Sure there is....
    For 'Recently Played', you can:
    1) 'Last Played' 'is in the last' xx days/weeks/months OR
    2) Uncheck the 'Match' condition and check the 'Limit' condition to however many songs/GBs/hours selected by 'most recently played'
    For Purchased Music:
    Match 'Kind' contains 'Protected'
Recreate the Smart Playlists yourself. Name them anything you desire.

  • Can't get itunes to create playlist using songs on ipod

How do I integrate the songs on my ipod with the itunes on my new computer without losing my downloads? I successfully authorized my new computer (Windows XP) for my itunes account. When I access my account on the new computer it shows all the songs that are on my ipod (downloaded from old computer) but they are in faint print and I cannot play them or create playlists. Every time I log on, it asks me if I want to copy the songs from the new computer onto the ipod. I tried this once and it wiped out all my other songs. Luckily, I still had the old computer and was able to retrieve my music.

You need to connect the iPod to the original computer. Open Preferences and select the iPod tab. Choose "manually manage songs and playslists."
You need to do it on the computer you want to manually manage songs on, not the original computer.
You will now be able to create the playlists on another computer.
As stated abive, you will hav to set this on teh new computer, not the original.
Also, you don't even need an iPod conected to create or manange playlists on the computer.
If you want to create and manage playlists on the iPod you obviously will need to connect it to a computer.
But doing this only on the iPod is not a good idea because if theiPod crashes, you lose them.
Create them in iTunes and sync them to the iPod.

  • Can you create playlists from network shared iTunes libraries?

I have a file server in my basement running XP Pro SP2 which is set to share it's rather large iTunes Library. I also have a laptop which is set to look for shared libraries. That all works fine. I would LIKE to create playlists on the laptop FROM the shared library broadcasting from my fileserver. I would like to be able to sync my wife's iPod on the laptop utilizing the songs on the fileserver, also of course using the shared library and playlist created from them.
Now, I attempted to "Add Folder To Library" by pointing iTunes to the shared music directory on the fileserver... no dice. For whatever reason, iTunes only adds about one sixth of the music.
I also attempted to export the iTunes Library as a text file into a shared playlist directory and then import the playlist into the laptop. Also no dice.
I also read a prior post which suggests that you set iTunes to organize and add files to the iTunes library upon importing... but that effectively doubles the size of the library.
So I'm at a loss. There's got to be a way to do this thing. No?
    ~( ):>

Good point... perhaps mapping the drive will help. To make a long story longer, I added folders... one at a time like you suggested. One specific directory (which included a few hundred subdirectories) kept missing files. I'm not really sure why it was doing that. So, I determined a few of the files it was missing and drilled down and added the specific albums. Boom, they were added. It would however take me until 2035 to do that for every album, hence my post.
This is NOT a gigabit network I am running, so I wont know if the drive mapping does anything until... probably morning. iTunes is adding the files as I type. I'll post back the results though. Thanks.

  • How do you create playlists in iTunes 11

    Hi all...
I'm very frustrated with itunes 11.
Before I would create playlists( usually smart playlist) going by Band/Artist.  I could then select the playlist and it would play through all the albums for the particular artist.  And once it gets to the end of the albums and last  song...  It would just go back to the initial album and play through again.
I don't understand this...  But I can't seem to create a playlist like I used to create them.  I'm completely lost.  Can anyone help me with this problem.
    Thanks!!

If you click View > Sidebar you will see your playlists in the left hand side.
The process to create a playlist or Smart playlist is the same as before. File > New > Playlist
When you have created your playlist you can drag, Songs, Albums, Artists and genres like you used to.
