Creating posters from a picture in iPhoto

I can't figure out how to do this. Does anyone know how to do this?
I've tried several ways and I couldn't get it to work.
Thanks.

to order prints up to 20 x 30 (IF your photo has enough resolution) select a photo(s) and click buy prints - select the number of copies you want of each size
exactly what problem are you having and what do you want to do that you can not?

    If you chose print, you can save as PDF. If you open the saved PDF in preview, you can save as JPEG, GIF, PNG. FYI you can crop in preview.
    Another option is you could use command + shift + 4 to do a screen shot of a specific part of of the screen.

  • How can I import photos of a created folder from my iPad to iPhoto?

    I have created a folder on my iPad in order to make a preselection of my photos. But now it doesn't seem to be possible to import just the pictures of the created folder. Is it possible or not?

    With the iPad's camera connection kit you may be able to copy photos from a flash drive, but a lot of flash drives require more power than the iPad supplies to the kit - the kit also has an SD card reader.
    You need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the flash drive or SD card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them.
    Or you could sync photos from your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
    Or there are third-party photo management apps that allow you to transfer photos to/from your computer via your wifi network e.g. Photo Manager Pro.

  • Trouble creating album  from My Pictures Folder

    I'm trying to create an album from the My Pictures folder under the My Documents folder.  Within MyPictures I have several years worth of pictures organized into different folders.  I would like to basically import the folder structure into an Album.  I can import all of the pictures but they're not organized in any useful way. I don't want to have to reoganize 5 years worth of pictures.  I've been using Picassa and thought Photoshop Elements would be nice to have.  Picassa easily organizes the pictures according to the folder structure I already have.  Is there any practical way to import my folder structure into the album?  If not I think I wasted my money on Photoshop.  Thanks, I'll keep trying but for now I've gone back to Picassa to edit my pictures.

    If you have PSE7 or later (not sure about PSE6), you can set the album name when you import photos from a folder. Its in the photo downloader, under advanced options.
    An even simpler way to "recreate" your folder structure is to use Folder Location View (Alt-Ctrl-3), although there are some bugs that affect the operations of Folder Location View on occasion.
    But ... the point of the Organizer is not to duplicate your folder structure as albums, or to organize by folders. If that's all you're going to do in the Organizer, I wouldn't bother, as it seems like a waste of time to me -- import, set the album name, and when you're all done, you have the same structure and have no benefits that you didn't have before in the folder structure. The Organizer is not a file browser, as Picasa is.
    However, if you plan to create these albums, plus use the more powerful tools in the Organizer: (tags, captions, notes) you will have a much more powerful organization of your photos. These tools allow you to organize your photos in non-hierarchical ways (folder organization must be hierarchical). If you want all of your pictures of Churches, regardless of which folder they are in, you click on the Church tag, and you've got them all. You really can't do that in Windows, or with your folders duplicated into albums. If you are going to use these tools (along with your albums), or use the Organizer to make creations, then great, its probably worth your time.

  • Creating presentation from multiple pictures automatically

    I want to create a presentation from a photo album automatically.
    Is it possible?

    Dunno. I have plug ins for Powerpoint (both Win and OS X versions) which automate importing all the photos in a folder/directory. It was a third party item. Perhaps if you search (Google?) you can find something similar for Keynote -- but likely only for OS X version; iPad version is probably too new.

    What version of iPhoto?
    What colour profile is the shot?
    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

    Hi, I was importing pictures into iPhoto from my sd card and suddenly iPhoto quit.  Now it just won't open.  When I click on the iphoto icon in the dock, nothing happens!  Does anyone have a solution to this problem please?

    As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
    If it does then your current library has been damaged and should be repaired: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    Since only one option can be run at a time start
    with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
    4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    5 - Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

    I'm creating a book from an album in iPhoto.  I have downloaded the latest version of iPhoto.  When I choose a book, i.e. wirebound, 19-20 page book, it shows a 42 page book when I am populating the pictures in the book I've selected.  Is that because I have more pictures in the album?
    In any case, I can't seem to manipulate/choose the number of pages I want.  How can I stick with the 20 page book I want?
    Thanks.

    You can not select the "number of pages" - you select the photos and the page layours and the number of pages comes form that - with Autoflow iPhoto uses random page layouts so the number of pages is rando=m
    You can change layouts to include more photos, move photos to the pages with no empty photos frames and then delete the pages at the end after the photos are used elsewhere

  • OutOfMemory while creating Images from camera's pictures

    Hi there,
    I am trying to create a javax.microedition.lcdui.Image object from a JPG image created by the 8120 camera. So far I’ve tried simulator only. I use JDE 4.3.0.1r.
    Here is a code from the body of a thread launched from the fileJournalChanged function:
    FileConnection file = null;
    InputStream is = null;
    Image capturedImage = null;
    try {
      file = (FileConnection) Connector.open("file://" + m_sImagePath, Connector.READ_WRITE);
      is = file.openInputStream();
      capturedImage = Image.createImage(is);
    Well, the Image.createImage(is) throws “OutOfMemory” exception, which seems reasonable, given the 1600x1200 dimensions of the pictures captured by simulator/camera. I understand that unpacked bitmap for such an image occupies around 5MB, which seems to be too big for a system to handle when freeMemory() from java.lang.Runtime reports just over 36MB.
    However, I wonder whether there is a way to get around this problem?
    Since I am an inexperienced BlackBerry developer, it is quite possible that I am overlooking an alternative way of creating javax.microedition.lcdui.Image object from a 1600x1200 image captured by the BlackBerry’s camera.
    Regards,
    Aharon.

    Steve:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Were you able at any time to load directly from your camera into iPhoto? If so, did that stop after running some software updaters?
    is there a way to get iPhoto to load these into its library as if it were taking them from a camera?
    As long as the image files are not located inside the iPhoto Library folder you can just drag the folder they are in into iPhoto's open Organize window and they will be imported. If they are in multiple folders then each folder will result in a new roll with those photos.
    If the files are inside the iPhoto Library folder, move them to the desktop and import from there.

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
    iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
    Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
    Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
    Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
    Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Why does iPhoto create multiples when importing pictures?

    OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
    iPhoto version 9.6
    I have a new MacBook and I am attempting to import pictures to iPhoto that were created by various devices - old digital cameras, scanners, iPhones.  The original images import without trouble, however iPhoto is creating an extra THREE pictures for each ONE that I import.  Please see the attached screenshot of my iPhoto after importing a few folders.  Take for example the Bowl for Kids folder - you will notice that the original folder has 20 pictures, and it is followed by an additional folder with 60 pictures.  The same situation is repeated for each folder.  The additional folders all share the same name - "d312a08daf7d..." and have EXACTLY three times as many pictures as the previous folder.  I have verified that the pictures contained within are indeed triplicates of the originals.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I did not import an existing iPhoto Library.
    Starting with a completely empty Photo Library, I navigate to File > Import to Library and select a single folder (Bowl for Kids).  This folder has 20 photos in it, however iPhoto imports 80 (20 originals and 60 multiples, as evidenced by the screenshot).  I then repeated the process for the other two folders.
    The photos shown in the screenshot were taken from various devices many years ago.  None of the above were taken on an iPhone.
    The photos reside on my MacBook hard drive under Users > Worgowan > Documents > Pictures and Videos.  I chose to place them here to keep them separate from the native Pictures folder.
    To answer an inevitable future question, here are some settings from my iPhoto Preferences.
    > iCloud > My Photo Stream (OFF)
    > iCloud > Photo Sharing (OFF)
    > Advanced > Importing: Copy Items to iPhoto Library (OFF)
    > Advanced > Edit Photos (In iPhoto)
    > Advanced > Use RAW when using external editor (OFF)
    > Advanced > Save edits as 16-bit TIFF files (OFF)
    > Advanced > Look up Places (NEVER)
    > Advanced > Include location information from published items (OFF)

    1. What format is the external drive? It sounds like it's ina format that Macs can't write to. Is it a NAS or NTFS?
    2. Easiest thing: just move your iPhoto Library to the external
    Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • I am using Lightroom on my MAC where I import the finalized JPEG-pictures into iPhoto to create a slideshow (for instance in combination with films). When exporting the slideshow with a 1080p resolution to iTunes I experience difficulties (missing slides

    I am using Lightroom on my MAC where I import the finalized JPEG-pictures into iPhoto to create a slideshow (for instance in combination with films). When exporting the slideshow with a 1080p resolution to iTunes I experience difficulties (missing slides and black transitions). When using JPEG-pictures directly from the camera there are no problems, so the manipulation in Lightroom seem to cause corrupt files. Does anyone recognize tje problem and could it have anything to do with the introduction of the Yosemite software? Is Lightroom already Yosemite-proof?

    In iPhoto 11 the Originals folder is renamed Masters.

  • Import pictures inside iphoto from PC windows folders without the hidden folders

    hello, i need your support to import photo from external HD (picture coming form PC window vista folders) to iphoto without the hidden folder that contain picture format "VCMS_KF_REPS" and similars. Should i delate that strange format manually and directly inside iphoto? I have 15 GB of pictures to import and the manually operation is so long...
    thanks

    Do you have to import directly from from that folder on your external HD?
    How about copying only the visible files to a folder on your mac and importing from that folder to iPhoto?
    Or if you import them, to use iPhoto's smart albums and filters to find the photos that you want to delete, so you can delete them all at once.
    These pictures are few KB (low resolution) named vcm_s_kf_repr_640x480
    You could create a smart album (File > New Smart Album" with the rule: Filename contains "vcm_s_kf_repr_640x480" - or any other thing similar for all pictures - and then select all photos found and delete the photos in that album.
