Creating Proxy Classes in Visual Studio 2010 from SAP ES

I am having problems with Microsoft's Visual Studio 2010 creaating a proxy class when importing a WSDL file from SAP's Enterprise Services.
When attempting to define the proxy class by pointing it to the endpoint WSDL, the import seems to work OK but the proxy class is not created.    I don't have this problem with other WSDL's from non-SAP sources.   There seems to be something "special" about the ES endpoint WSDL.
Is anyone else having this problem?

not always the 18th. For me it is the 14th. I think it is because I have  some buttons hidden already. But seems like it is always the last one.
  // The SAP Crystal Report logo is the last item on the 4th control.
System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip oToolStrip = (System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip)crystalReportViewer.Controls[4];
                oToolStrip.Items[oToolStrip.Items.Count-1].Visible = false;

  • Question about creating association between Sharepoint BDC entities using Visual Studio 2010

    I am following this tutorial:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vssharepointtoolsblog/archive/2010/08/02/walkthrough-of-creating-association-between-sharepoint-bdc-entities-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx
    I am getting the following error:
     There is an error in the TypeDescriptors of Parameters on Method with Name 'CustomerToOrder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'Customer' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1'. The TypeDescriptors incompletely define where the Foreign

    after reading that article, I am still not sure what setting I am missing.  Does anyone have the full working source code from the msdn article linked above?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got the symbols not loaded error.
    First try rebuilding your project by right mouse click the project > Rebuild If that doesn't work, try a clean of the project (right mouse click on the project > clean)
    If that didn't work check this:
    Right mouse click your project
    select [Properties]
    select the [Build] tab
    make sure [Define DEBUG constant] and [Define TRACE constant] are checked
    Click the [Advanced] button at the bottom of the Build tabpage
    Make sure that [Debug Info:] is set to [full]
    Click [OK] and rebuild the project ;
    Hope that works for you! (step 6 generates the .pdb files, these are the debugging symbols)
    What’s more, you can clean & re-compile the code, then install the respective dlls one more time to GAC (just remove them before adding to GAC again), do an IISReset to check whether it works.

  • How to create a site column through Visual Studio 2010?

    I was trying to create lists, content type and site columns through Visual Studio 2010. But I could not figure out how to add site column? What item do I need to add for this and what kind of coding is to be done?

    Try this
    1. Create a Empty project in Visual studio.
    2.The Empty SharePoint Project template does not include any Features in the Features folder. To add a new Feature to this project, right -click the Features folder, and click Add Feature. This adds a new Feature component to the folder; double – click the
    Feature1 icon in Solution Explorer to modify the Feature ’ s
    metadata using the Feature designer. The Title and Description values appear on the Features pages in Site settings. It is a good idea to make these values
    descriptive so that administrators will know what they are adding to the site when they activate the feature.
    The feature ’ s scope determines where the feature can be activated within SharePoint. Please Note – Certain components, such as site columns, content types, Master pages, and Page Layouts, are installed at the site collection level and made available to all
    sites within the collection. These components require that the scope for the feature be set to “ Site. ”
    3. Next, add a new item to the project (Right – click project name ➪ Add ➪ New Item) and select the Empty Element template from the Add New Item dialog box.
    The Empty Element template is an XML fi le where you can enter CAML Field definitions.
    Following is what you will add in your elements.xml file –
    < Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/" >
    < Field ID="{76C140E1-D827-433B-AD38-257F9594B846}"
    Name="CustomCol"
    DisplayName="My Custom Site Column"
    Group="Custom group"
    Type="Text"
    Required="FALSE"/ >
    < Field ID="{5F516D92-969C-4661-81B9-C9210E2A2FDC}"
    Name="Choice Type"
    DisplayName="My Choice Type"
    Group="Custom group"
    Type="Choice"
    Required="FALSE" >
    < CHOICES >
    < CHOICE > Medical < /CHOICE >
    < CHOICE > Dental < /CHOICE >
    < CHOICE > Vision < /CHOICE >
    < CHOICE > Insurance < /CHOICE >
    < /CHOICES >
    < /Field >
    < /Elements >
    4. To deploy the Site Columns defined in the Elements file, right – click the project name in the Visual Studio Solution Explorer, and select Deploy. This will deploy the solution file to the solution store and activate the Feature in the targeted site collection.

  • Problem to add .MDF file from Visual Studio 2010 application

    Hi All
    I would like to add to project WPF applicaction in VS 2010 .MDF file.
    The problem is that when I am trying to add new service-based database (.mdf) I am getting the error "Connection to SQL Server database files (.mdf) require SQL Server 2005 Express or SQL Server 2008 Express to be installed and running on the local computer.
    The SQL Server 2008 is already been installed. How to fix the problem?
    Thanks.

    That is the sql express service.
    It means it's already started and your error message is about something else.
    Go get this:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=22973
    In that is sql server express management studio.
    Use that to create your database as in my previous post.
    This way you can see the thing created, query it and tell it's not going to get copied around by visual studio.  It's way too easy to get messed up by visual studio if you create a database in your project.
    Do not create your database in visual studio.
    Connect to the database from your visual studio project.
    Don't create it from there.
    How did you set your sql express up?
    Is it mixed mode authentication or what?
    If you don't know then make it mixed
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/ms188670.aspx
    My preference is to use entity framework to access the database.
    If you set up an entity data model in your solution that will sort your connection string.

  • Choose from List Condition - SAP 9.0 visual studio 2010

    Hi,
    How to set condition for CFL. I am using SAP 9.0 Patch Level 12, Visual Studio 2010. I could find the event, ChooseFromListBefore event. I tried coding as below,but its not working:Got error like "Public member 'GetConditions' on type 'SBOItemEventArgClass' not found."

                    oCond.Operation = Operation
                    oCond.CondVal = CondVal
                     pCFL.SetConditions(oconds)
    end sub
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Parvatha Solai.N

    Hi Parvatha,
    The conditions should get from the CFL object it self, not the CFL Event object.
    Dim oCFL = oForm.ChooseFromLists.Item("cflUID");
    oConds = oCFL.GetConditions();

  • SharePoint 2010, Visual Studio 2010, Packaging a solution - The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.

    Hi,
    I have a solution that used to contain one SharePoint 2010 project. The project is named along the following lines:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint - let's call it Project1 for future reference. It contains a number of features which have been named according
    to their purpose, some are reasonably long and the paths fairly deep. As far as I am concerned we are using sensible namespaces and these reflect our company policy of "doing things properly".
    I first encountered the following error message when packaging the aforementioned SharePoint project into a wsp:
    "The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters."
    I went through a great deal of pain in trying to rename the project, shorten feature names and namespaces etc... until I got it working. I then went about gradually
    renaming everything until eventually I had what I started with, and it all worked. So I was none the wiser...not ideal, but I needed to get on and had tight delivery timelines.
    Recently we wanted to add another SharePoint project so that we could move some of our core functinality out into a separate SharePoint solution - e.g. custom workflow
    error logging. So we created another project in Visual Studio called:
    <Company>.<Product>.SharePoint.<Subsystem> - let's call it Project2 for future reference
    And this is when the error has come back and bitten me! The scenario is now as follows:
    1. project1 packages and deploys successfully with long feature names and deep paths.
    2. project2 does not package and has no features in it at all. The project2 name is 13 characters longer than project1
    I am convinced this is a bug with Visual Studio and/or the Package MSBuild target. Why? Let me explain my findings so far:
    1. By doing the following I can get project2 to package
    In Visual Studio 2010 show all files of project2, delete the obj, bin, pkg, pkgobj folders.
    Clean the solution
    Shut down Visual Studio 2010
    Open Visual Studio 2010
    Rebuild the solution
    Package the project2
    et voila the package is generated!
    This demonstrates that the package error message is in fact inaccurate and that it can create the package, it just needs a little help, since Visual Studio seems to
    no longer be hanging onto something.
    Clearly this is fine for a small time project, but try doing this in an environment where we use Continuous Integration, Unit Testing and automatic deployment of SharePoint
    solutions on a Build Server using automated builds.
    2. I have created another project3 which has a ludicrously long name, this packages fine and also has no features contained within it.
    3. I have looked at the length of the path under the pkg folder for project1 and it is large in comparison to the one that is generated for project2, that is when it
    does successfully package using the method outlined in 1. above. This is strange since project1 packages and project2 does not.
    4. If I attempt to add project2 to my command line build using MSBuild then it fails to package and when I then open up Visual Studio and attempt to package project2
    from the Visual Studio UI then it fails with the path too long error message, until I go through the steps outlined in 1. above to get it to package.
    5. DebugView shows nothing useful during the build and packaging of the project.
    6. The error seems to occur in
    CreateSharePointProjectService target called at line 365 of
    Microsoft.VisualStudio.SharePoint.targetsCurrently I am at a loss to work out why this is happening? My next task is to delete
    project2 completely and recreate it and introduce it into my Visual Studio solution.
    Microsoft, can you confirm whether this is a known issue and whether others have encountered this issue? Is it resolved in a hotfix?
    Anybody else, can you confirm whether you have come up with a solution to this issue? When I mean a solution I mean one that does not mean that I have to rename my namespaces,
    project etc... and is actually workable in a meaningful Visual Studio solution.

    Hi
    Yes, I thought I had fixed this my moving my solution from the usual documents  to
    c:\v2010\projectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline
    This builds ok, but when I come to package I get the lovely error:
    Error 2 The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. C:\VS2010\ProjectsOverflow\DetailedProjectTimeline\VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart\Features\Feature1\Feature1.feature VisualDetailedProjectTimeline
    Now, the error seems to be related to
    Can anyone suggest what might be causing this. Probably some path in an XML file somewhere. Here is my prime suspect!
    <metaData>
    <type name="VisualDetailedProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimelineWebPart.VisualProjectTimeline, $SharePoint.Project.AssemblyFullName$" />
    <importErrorMessage>$Resources:core,ImportErrorMessage;</importErrorMessage>
    </metaData>
    <data>
    <properties>
    <property name="Title" type="string">VisualProjectTimelineWebPart</property>
    <property name="Description" type="string">My Visual WebPart</property>
    </properties>
    </data>
    </webPart>
    </webParts>
    .... Unless I can solve this I will have to remove the project and recreate but with simple paths. Tho I will be none the wiser if I come across this again.

  • Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 runtime LICENCE

    I want to welcome everyone. It's my first post on this forum.
    I want to provide my Windows Form application to a client. This application was written in VS 2010 and it uses SAP Crystal Reports for generating simple report.
    I've read [Crystal Reports Licensing Explained|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/10cd9e15-120d-2c10-3fb5-be299000b6b7&utm_source=crvs2010&utm_medium=lp&utm_campaign=licensing_explained] pdf and I've learnt that in my case redistribution of software that embeds the Crystal Reports runtime engine is free.
    My question is:
    Is there something else I must include in my application package for instance a licence file? Or maybe I just have to include SAP CR runtime or ask user to download it from the SAP web site and that's it?
    Marcin

    Hello Marcin,
    Welcome.
    Please note that whenever you distribute your application (which uses Crystal reports) to others who may not have Crystal designer product, you need to provide the runtimes along with the application. The runtimes provide the necessary dlls in the machine for running Crystal inside the app.
    You can use an exe to install the CR runtimes and then deploy your app. OR you can include the msm files and create a deployment package.
    You will get the runtimes for CR4VS2010 [here|/people/coy.yonce/blog/2010/11/12/crystal-reports-for-visual-studio-2010-production-release-now-availableCystlR%2528SAPWeblogs%253ACrystal+Reports%2529].
    You might want to check [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233313335333833323336%7D.do] link for details.
    Forgot to mention:

  • RFC & BAPI  with Visual Studio 2010 (C/ C++)

    Hello,
    I would to develop, into MS Visual Studio 2010 (c/ c+), a application that allows establishing a RFC connection to SAP (ECC6) and call a Z program, or call a BAPI from my c/c+ application.
    Can you recommend a good documentation, possibly with examples?
    If anyone has any sample code, maybe a project in MS VS (c/c++), would be great.
    Sincerely,
    Serena

    Hi,
      Hope the following code will help you.
    For establishing connection:
    public class MyBackendConfig : IDestinationConfiguration
                public RfcConfigParameters GetParameters(String destinationName)
                    if ("SE38".Equals(destinationName))
                        RfcConfigParameters parms = new RfcConfigParameters();
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.AppServerHost, "192.168.1.14");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.SystemNumber, "02");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.User, "abaper");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.Password, "erpanderp");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.Client, "800");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.Language, "EN");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.PoolSize, "5");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.MaxPoolSize, "10");
                        parms.Add(RfcConfigParameters.IdleTimeout, "600");
                        return parms;
                    else return null;
                public bool ChangeEventsSupported()
                    return false;
                public event RfcDestinationManager.ConfigurationChangeHandler ConfigurationChanged;
    Getting tables from BAPI:
    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                checkedListBox1.Items.Clear();
                RfcDestination prd = RfcDestinationManager.GetDestination("SE38");
                RfcRepository repo = prd.Repository;
                IRfcFunction companyBapi1 = repo.CreateFunction("ZBAPI_PACKAGE_OBJECTLIST");
                string package = "EU_" + comboBox1.SelectedItem.ToString();
                companyBapi1.SetValue("PACKNAME", package);
                companyBapi1.Invoke(prd);
                IRfcTable address1 = companyBapi1["TOBJECTS"].GetTable();
                if (address1.RowCount != 0)
                    for (int index = 0; index < address1.RowCount; ++index)
                        checkedListBox1.Items.Add(address1[index]["PROGRAM"].GetString());
                        panel2.Visible = true;
                else
                    MessageBox.Show("No Programs Found");

  • Image Quality In Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

    I am using the new production release of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 and I am having an issue with image quality when adding an image to a crystal report.
    The image itself is a .TIF file,  and when opened in Windows, the quality of the image, which is mostly text, is very high. The image was created from a electronic PDF form and I intend to use this as a background for the crystal report, over which I will place data fields.
    As soon as the image is added to the report you can see the degradation in quality in the design window and in the preview window within visual studio. The quality remains low when viewing the report in the WPF report viewer and when printing from this control.
    I have ensured the "Retain Original Image Color Depth" option is checked but this has made no difference (the image is black and white anyway).
    The image in the report has been left at its native size, no resizing at all. The image is 355KB in size if that's relevant.
    Is there a reason the image looses quality when added to a report? Is it being compressed? More importantly, is there a way to make the image retain its native quality when adding it to a crystal report?
    Thanks in advance.

    The following image is the image I am trying to display. Although imageshack has converted it to a png, if you right click and save the image you can open it and zoom in with little image degradation.
    http://img132.imageshack.us/i/j301.png
    The following is a screen shot of how the tif file looks in the designer when zooming in:
    http://img138.imageshack.us/i/j30lowquantity.jpg
    The second image has lost its clarity and is unusable when printing.
    I hope this helps.

  • RoboHelp 10 and Visual Studio 2010

    The company I work for is thinking about buying RoboHelp 10 to create an offline user help system for a WPF Ribbon Application being developed in Visual Studio 2010. I have been tasked with finding the recommended output format from RoboHelp 10 AND the best viewer for Visual Studio 2010. CHM output format is not an option. I have searched the web and found nothing that addresses both products. Does anyone know the best output format to use AND/OR what is the best viewer? Any / all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Visual Studio does have its own ability to create a help file. Here's the home page of Paul O'Rear's blog. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/thehelpguy/ You will also find information at http://www.helpware.net. You need to research that to find out if that would suit. This is not the forum for that topic.
    Aside from that, the first issue is where is the help going to reside? If it is on a web server, then WebHelp would be an option. That can also be run locally but you may encounter some issues if you need links to PDF files. If the help is going to be installed locally, what's the objection to CHMs? In RoboHelp 10 they can be skinned to look like WebHelp.

  • Visual Studio 2010 Message Definition of symbol cannot be located

    Hello,
    This is Ashish here from Yokohama Japan.
    I am a regular user of Visual studio 2010, And recently with new license I found one issue that when I try to jump to the definition of the defines in my code it pops up an error that "Message Definition of symbol cannot be located "
    But I am able to compile my code successfully, if the symbol could not be located it would not compile the code also.
    Please help me with this
    Regards
    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,
    Which kind of app did you create in your VS2010, VC++?
    >>when I try to jump to the definition of the defines in my code it pops up an error that "Message Definition of symbol cannot be located".
    Whether it is related to the settings under Tools -> Options -> Text Editor -> C/C++ -> Advanced -> Recreate Database?

  • Adding Columns to the matrix in SAP B1 user form using Visual studio 2010

    Hi,
    Using Visual studio 2010, I have created a SAP B1 user form( b1f ) with one matrix.Matrix is having 5 columns. Its working properly. Later, I want to add few more columns. Then I added columns to the matrix as I have created columns initially. But, it does not saves.
    i.e, Whenever I run, In B1 I could see only old columns. Newly created columns are not showing.So, I closed the .net project and opened again. Created columns are not showing in visual studio b1f itself. So, I created again and saved. But, its not saving.I tried it many times.
    What I am missing?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Parvatha Solai.N

    Hi Parvatha,
    Are you using B1 Studio? Anyway try to clean the solution first then rebuild it. This would re-copy files to the output directory, that contain your changes.

  • Visual Studio 2010 Upgrade - Unable to view some reports

    I converted an application that had been developed in VS2005 so that it would run in VS2010.  The application contains several Crystal Reports.  Now when I debug the application I can only view some of the reports.  With the others I get an exception with the message "Unable to find the report in the manifest resources.  Please build the project and try again."
    The ones that work and the ones that don't all have the Build Action set to Embedded Resource.  I have tried removing a report from the project and then adding it back, but that made no difference.  A new report displayed fine.
    Does anyone have any ideas about what could cause some of the reports to throw this exception?

    OK, here is the link to the thread I am replying to Visual Studio 2010 Upgrade - Unable to view some reports
    And here is what I posted to start the thread that I am replying to:

    As you can see, I have described the exception that occurs when I try to view some, but not all, or the reports while debugging.  I have also tried deleting a report and adding it back in but it made no difference.
    Is this enough information?
