Creating Regions Using APIs

Hi,
I am trying to create a Content Management System using APEX 4.
I was wondering if it is possible to create regions on the fly using APEX API.
The regions will act as modules having custom attributes to load its related region template.
It's appreciated if someone can direct me on this.
Regards,
Salim

What how when you manually create a request for that resource from the UI by selecting/providing same values as you are doing in task, does that generate approvals correctly? When the request is created via your schedule task, if it does not generate approval, then is the resource provisioned to the user? what's the status of the request?
Steps from MOS: 464999.1
tcRequestOperationsIntf reqObj=(tcRequestOperationsIntf)utilFactory.getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcRequestOperationsIntf");
long lRequestKey;
long UserKey=1; //beneficiary
long ObjectKey=201; //testro1
HashMap reqMap = new HashMap();
reqMap.put("Requests.Target Type", "U");
reqMap.put("Requests.Object Request Type", "Add");
reqMap.put("Requests.Type", "U");
lRequestKey = reqObj.createRequest(reqMap);
System.out.println("Created request and got key :" + lRequestKey);
//Adding user to be provisioned for resource object
reqObj.addRequestUser(lRequestKey, UserKey);
System.out.println("Added the request user");
//Adding object to be provisioned
reqObj.addRequestObject(lRequestKey, ObjectKey);
System.out.println("Added the request object");
reqObj.completeRequestCreation(lRequestKey);
System.out.println(Completed and submitted the request");-Bikash

    Hi,
    When you are doing the initial data migration at that stage you should set up the employee numbering and other numbering mechanism to manual. The reason of doing so is that when you are doing migration at that point you have the employee numbers with you for existing employees.
    Once you data migration is done then you have to go to BG information and update the mechanism to Automatic. Also, if you numbering mechanism is automatic and you are not able to change to manual or vice-verse in the BG definition then use will have to use the concurrent program "Change Employee number mechanism". You will have to make the decision of changing from one type to another in a proper way.
    Please find below some related articles on metalink for your reference

    Hi Kesava,
    I notice that in the package you used the application user_name=CHUNDUK calls the API pa_project_pub.create_project.
    I wonder if you used chunduk as database user to execute the package Or you used APPS to execute the package?
    The APi document states that it is a requirement to create a db username as the same name with the application username.
    I have been running the problem to execute API 's delete project and try to figure what could be my problem.
    TIA

  • Can't create region/use notation

    New to GB, but Googled a LOT today.
    I'm trying to add notes in the editor, but nothing is working. Here's what I'm doing.
    - Launch GB.
    - Click Create New Music Project
    - Click Create (makes "My Song" on Desktop)
    - Displays green Grand Piano
    - Click Grand Piano for good measure
    - Cmd-Click in grey box to right of "Mixer" (i.e. the track) to try to make new region
    NOTHING happens. No context menu. Nothing.
    - Click scissors to open track editor editor
    - Click note to get notation editor
    - Cmd-Click and context menu with notes appears
    - Select whole note
    NOTHING happens. Note not added to staff.
    I've read this forum, bulletsandbones, and a bunch of others.
    I cannot create a region in order to add notes to it to use the notation editor.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the idea.
    I have already tried that. It does create a green region with notes. However, I cannot add my own notes to it. I managed to delete the silly notes by selecting all and deleting, but then I get a whole rest and cannot add notes in. When there are notes in it, I cannot append notes to the end of the region, either.
    I'm using 4.1.2, if that makes a difference...

  • While creating Projects Using the API, get two errors: 'Customer name must be passed' and 'class category is invalid'

    Hi
    While trying to Create Projects using the API, I'm getting two types of errors -
    The first is : 'API failed in one stage 1 Customer Name is a mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed'
    The second is : '
    'API failed in one stage 1 Project: '<Project_Number>'
    The class category is invalid.'
    Both the messages are produced by our custom program. .. however I am not able to understand why the underlying errors occur.
    The first error ( Customer Name is a mandatory quick entry field), is caused by Projects that are to be created from Project templates where it is configured with Quick Entry Customer Name required. We are passing Customer Site number ( Party Bill to site number and Party Ship to side number). The site numbers being passed are also set as 'Primary'. Yet they are failing.
    For the second Error ( The Class Category is invalid), I rechecked multiple times, the Class categories for the Projects I am trying to create, with the Config in R12 and they are fine. Can't understand the reason for these two issues. Has anyone encountered such an issue ? If so how was it resolved?
    Regards
    Vivek

    HI All
    I resolved both the issues. In case there are others facing similar issues, following was the cause and resolution of my errors
    1. Error 1: Customer Name is a Mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed.
    The cause was that the data loaded into our custom staging table was not in the right fields. This was because the data file values and the CTL were not in sync.
    Resolution:
    Corrected the data file to be in Sync with the structure defined in the CTL and  this loaded it successfully
    2. Error 2: The class category is invalid.
    The cause of this error was that  in the  Projects Template (used to create the project from), the Quick Entry setup had a Class Category set as required and I was not passing a value ( a class code value) for that Class Category.
    Hope this helps somebody else
    Cheers

    Use FNDLOAD, it's the only way.
    There are 2 seperate scripts, 1 for the Integrator and 1 for Layout.
    FNDLOAD apps/<pw> 0 Y DOWNLOAD $BNE_TOP/patch/115/import/bneintegrator.lct <your name>.ldt BNE_INTEGRATORS INTEGRATOR_ASN="XXX" INTEGRATOR_CODE="<your code>"
    FNDLOAD apps/<pw> 0 Y DOWNLOAD $BNE_TOP/patch/115/import/bnelay.lct <your name>.ldt BNE_LAYOUTS LAYOUT_ASN="XXX" LAYOUT_CODE="<your code>"

  • How to create a new User / Contact using APIs

    I am not able to figure out how to create a new User / Contact in WLPS using APIs

    Hi Bala,
    Try using these function modules
    SUSR_BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE1
    BAPI_USER_INTERNET_CREATE ( This internally calls BAPI_USER_CREATE1)
    Please read the FM documentation for more information.

         Error messaage: The mandatory argument business_group_id value cannot be null
         Cause:        The mandatory argument business_group_id has either not been specified or
    which seems crazy, as I'm providing the business group id in the parameter and this is the same group as already existing in table "ota_cert_enrollments".
    Please can anyone give me guidance or refer me to alternative information on this?
    Thanks

  • Create a Participant and assign roles using API (outside the process)

    I want to create a participant in the BPM directory using API, which I believe is available in the fuegopapi-client.jar file. What is missing is a sample or documentation for that API. PAPI Javadocs found on the web don't cover the rest of the API available in the mentioned jar file.
    There are examples of how to do this within a process, but not outside the context of the process. Any references to documentation or samples, you may have come across is greatly appreciated. I have not had success in finding anything on this forum and the web. Thanks.

    Hope it helps

    Hi
       i am trying to create GUID using com.sap.guid API's. I've included the guidgenerator.jar in the classpath. I ran the following code. i got the "Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/guid/GUIDGeneratorFactory " error.
    the code is
    package com.portal;
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.;*
    import com.sap.guid.GUIDGeneratorFactory;
    import com.sap.guid.IGUID;
    import com.sap.guid.IGUIDGenerator;
    import com.sap.guid.IGUIDGeneratorFactory;
    public class TestCompforGUID extends AbstractPortalComponent
        public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
    *          IGUIDGenerator generator = GUIDGeneratorFactory.getInstance().createGUIDGenerator();*
    *          String guid = generator.createGUID().toString();*

    *          response.write(guid);*
    *          response.write(hexGuid);*
    can anyone created the GUID's using com.sap.guid API's and help me here.
    Do i need to specify any reference in Portalapp.xml ?
    Thanks,
    Saravanan

    difficult to reproduce. But it might be a data conversion problem.
    e.g. try
    to_char(a.num_tabs)If that's not the error comment out certain lines or xmltags and test which one is the reason for the error.

  • Creating Quote using Quoting APIs

    Hi,
    I am using the following method, trying to create a Quote from OA.
    oracle.apps.qot.core.Quote.create(ControlRecord controlRecord) returns void
    Since the method return void, I could not fetch the Quote details, of the created quote, like quote_header_id, etc.. also am not sure weather the Quote has been created or not.
    Plz help me with this, also what values shoud be assigned to ControlRecord object for creating a valid Quote.
    Thanks,
    Adarsh

    Hi,
    Below is the description obtained in the quoting implementation guide.
    create(ControlRecord) Creates a quote with the attributes populated in this quote
    object. Quote header ID, last update date, and quote number
    will be populated in the quote header after the quote is
    created. This API should be called within a transaction block.
    public void
    create(oracle.apps.aso.quote.ControlRecord
    controlRec)throws FrameworkException, SQLExce
    ption, QuoteException
    As per this description it should populate Quote header ID, last update date, and quote number . So i am trying to fetch the quote header id and it is showing null.
    Is there anything which i am missing in the code?
    Regards,
    Mithun
