  • Report with user parameter is not runnig

    Hi
    I have created the report with user parameter p_deptno and qyery"select * from emp where depno=:p_deptno";
when i run the report in paper layout a popup kind page will open and ask us to enter the deptno and based on input parameter it fetches record in report.
if i tried the same thing with url :http://localhost:portno/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=pdf&report=emp.jsp&userid=scott/tiger@orcl
the parameter window not opening and and blank report will open with coloumn headings.
help me to solve the problem.
    i am using devsuite oracle10g release 2 on linux(OEL4).

    Hello,
You have to provide the parameter in the URL :
    For example :
    http://localhost:portno/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=pdf&report=emp.jsp&userid=scott/tiger@orcl&p_deptno=10
or use the Web parameter Form :
    http://localhost:portno/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=pdf&report=emp.jsp&userid=scott/tiger@orcl&paramform=true

    Hi,
I tried in building a report as shown in the example in OTN under reports in the url
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/examples/ParameterFormJSP/index.html
i.e for Building a JSP-based Web Report with a Parameter Form. The directions in this document were not clear and if any one document which is clear with instruction will be useful to me. In this example it is shown with search criteria with sigle text box and if any one had idea & code to place an combo box and population of the record group in the combo box.
    Thank you in advance.

    hi,
we will be releasing a new example w.r.t creating a parameter form using the reports JSP within the next month.
as for your request for a combo box. this widget is not available via regular HTML form elements. you can either have a select list or dropdown list.
for a regular select list you would use the following (only pseudo-code)
    <select ...>
    <rw:foreach>
    <option value="<rw:field .../>">
    </rw:foreach>
    </select>
    to populate a select list.

  • Primary key when creating reports with forms

I'm new to APEX and I'm creating a report with forms using the wizard. I've checked the 'Include Analysis Pages' checkbox. When I select the 'add pages' button I get the following message:
Table has no primary keys defined. A primary key is required when creating reports with forms.
I know that the table does have a primary key because I defined it and also it is visible in the Sql workshop / Object browser and Toad.
Am I missing something or is this some sort of bug?
    thanks
    sb

You're missing something. This message means you've not told APEX what the primary key is. You shouldn't have been able to get passed the page in the wizard that asks for it though. Can't describe where it prompts for it from memory, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

  • Creating report with Subreports

I am creating a report with two subreports and am getting an error.  The error is Error source: Error code:0x80070057 I can;t seem to figure out what is prompting this and it comes up when I try to preview the report.  Can anyone please help?

    Hi Jeff,
I did not find any specific description of the error, but previous incidents research tells me that it could be related to parameter prompt. Do you have any parameters in your report? How many, what type?
You may try to locate the problem:
    1. Is it possible to temporarily delete some parameters?
    2. Are your subreports linked using parameters?
    3. You have three reports (main and two subs). Run each report separately to make sure they work fine.
    4. Run main report with one sub
    5. Try unlinked subreports
More tests should help us better understand the situation.

  • Creating report with multiple queries in clear quest

    Hi,
I am new to reports and currently working with creating reports that connect to clear quest(CQ).
I have successfully created several reports, that connect to the CQ, but they all have data from only one query.
Now I am trying to create a slightly complex report where I need to fetch data from multiple queries. All these queries use 2 parameter to filter their data. I have dynamic cascading parameters to get them. When just connecting they all work ok. I used the link tab to link them to two fields of one query, to make sure that they all filter to fields from same query.
The problem is when I drop the fields from the various queries on the form, the data is fetched multiple times.
I also played with links to make them outer links but in that case I get error and unable to run the report completely.
Any ideas on how to work with multiple queries and provide same parameters to all of the queries?
    Thanks in advance.
    -PAP

    - How do I make sure that the relationship is not one to many?
You don't. That's the nature of the data. For example a single person can order multiple items. A simple one to many relationship.
    - In the link tab, I can only point to queries, is there a way I can point the fields to report params?
You should be seeing tables... I think you're having a tough time with the basic terminology.
    - How does these Enforce Joins (4 options) work.
There is rarely if ever any reason to switch from the default "not enforced". Leave it alone. The only one you'll touch 90% of the time is the Join Type.
    PAP,
Based on the questions you're asking, it sounds like you are missing some major database fundamentals. My suggestion would be to step away from CR for the time being and read a little bit about relational databases (what makes them relational) and database normalization. This will also give you an idea about the various join types and when to use one over the other.
You can know every feature and function in CR, but until you have at least a basic knowledge of how data relates, you'll never pull in the data you need.

  • Create report with filtered teststeps

    Hello,
i am using TS3.5 and want to create a report with only selected teststeps included.
For this i created in my custom teststeos a container called "Config" and inside this container a
    bool-parameter called "ShowIt".
Then i opended Teststand -> Configure -> Report-Options and set
"Result Filtering Expression" to "Config.AddIt == True"
When i run then the sequence i get a popup after finishing which says:
    ActiveX Error
    sCode = 0xffffbc66
Description: Unknown variable or property name "Config"
    Error accessing item "Config".
But when i copy the parameter "AddIt" into Result.AddIt and change the
"Result Filtering Expression" to "Result.AddIt == True" then it works!
Why cant i use a custom container for this filtering?
The standard-teststand models stops then with Error in the TestReportCallback at teststep "Get Report Body (DLL)"
    Thanks for your help.

    Yes, this is enabled.
I attached the testsequence and a screenshot of the report-options.
In the sequence i copied the default "passfail-Test" and added there a container "Config" with a bool-variable "AddIt"
This new steptyp is then called twice in the mainsequence where the first call is AddIt == False and trhe second call AddIt ==True.
Then i changed the report-options as you can see in the attached screenshot.
But then i get the error-message.
What am i doing wrong here?

    1. After I try to drag more than one object to create report from webi and run the query, it got sutcked and appear error as below;
    A database error occured. The database error text is: The MDX query SELECT {  } ON COLUMNS , HIERARCHIZE( UNION(  { [0GL_ACCOUNT                   INT].[INT                             0HIER_NODE] } , { GENERATE (  { [0GL_ACCOUNT                   INT].[INT                             0HIER_NODE] }  , { Descendants( [0GL_ACCOUNT                   INT].CURRENTMEMBER, [0GL_ACCOUNT                   INT].[LEVEL01]) } ) }  ) )  DIMENSION PROPERTIES PARENT_UNIQUE_NAME ON ROWS FROM [$0ABC_C06] SAP VARIABLES [0DAT] INCLUDING 20080606 failed to execute with the error See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details. (WIS 10901)
this error appears when I try to..
    - create query with more than one object
    - enable drill-down for the object and click the report to drill down
(This error appears the same in Voyager when drag objects into crosstab)
    2. problems with displaying Thai language content created from BW, after I created object, thai content always appears as "######" event I change font to "tahoma", it returns the same result.
any expert could help me... thanks in advance
    I use BOBJ XI 3.0, SAPBW 7.0
    step:
    1. Create universe connect to BW 7.0 and export universe
    2. logon to infoview, choose universe to create report from webi
    3. drag object and test drill down
    and step for voyager
    1. create voyager connection to SAP BW 7.0 use specified username and password
    2. use voyager to create report
    3. drag object into crosstab

    Hello.
We have solved this issue. We tested our connection with MDX Parser in transaction SM59 and that resulted in errors. Then we applied SAP note 1032461 to replace an application server dll (librfc32u.dll). After this procedure, the WebIntelligence was able to run queries with more then 2 dimensions and key-figures!
    Thanks for all.

  • How create report with data from table and some columns results function ?

    Hi,
How can i create on apex report region with some columns (of the report) as returned from a table and the other columns as results of plsql functions ?
for example , I want to create a report like that:
    device last_date error_msg stop/start
    kodak1 06/04/08 null >>
    kodak2 08/03/08 good msg --^--
    kodak3 08/04/08 err msg >>
    3 rows returned
where the 3 first columns are data returned from the table and the forth column is the result of plsql function (returned for example false) and on that i want to display a button of start ( >> in this example ) or stop ( --^-- in this example)

    Thomas,
There is no problem here -- this is fully suported scenario.
    1. Bind Table dataSource to Customers node.
    2. Bind individual cell editors to any attribute of customer or any nested node like Address, say create column with InputField as editor, then for "value" property select Customer.Address.Street.
Your nested nodes (like Address) must be non-singleton, set singleton=false on context designer tab.

  • Create Report with Image on the backside of first page

    Hi there,
I want to create a report with a header-section (including data and a barcode) and some data in the main section. The main section is diffing in length so that the report might be just one page or 4-5 pages or even more.
In addition I want to print an image on the backside of the first page.
The image exists in TIFF-Format and it should be printed in landscape, while the report itself is inmPortarit-Mode.
The report(s) should be printed automatically (without user-interaction).
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Mark Radermacher

    Mark,
The reply could be a bit delayed and you might have got it working also.
All your requirtements are easily achieveable, you might want to look into the building reports samples and publishing reports documenation at

  • Scheduling a Report with Dynamic Parameter Values

    Post Author: etlag
    CA Forum: Publishing
I have created a report using a parameter that has dynamic values - meaning the user can choose a date from a specific field. It works fine once published in InfoView, but when I schedule the report, when I try to enter the parameter I get promted for a login for the database, even though I have already entered this in the CMC report properties.
I have other reports that are using static values and they can be scheduled without entering the database login.
Any ideas what I am missing?

    dear etlag
its known issues, you've to set the default database connection to this report from the "CMC" web-bases appliaction , find this object click it go to "process" tab and then click the "database" tab,,, set your default database connection there and finally dont forget to set "Use same database logon as when report is run" at the end of the page
    and cilck ok
    try it ,, good luck
