Creating Setup Package in Netweaver Administrator MI

Hello everybody, 
after a long searching to a clear manual about setting up Mobile Infrastructure client, and after a lot of reading the typical spaghetti manuals of SAP, I started to create a Device Configuration to test the MAM 3.0 
I have created a Device Configuration using the DB2E add-on, MOBILEENGINE_JSP Framework and a MAM30 Application:

I have an hierarchy grouping with currently only 1 user and now I want to create a setup package. In the Log Viewer of the Setup Package, I see there is a problem with Trace File: Trace File might not be available in client OR Moving Trace File into new folder failed.

So all steps perform well, except the last about Trace File. 
Does anybody have an idea why and how to solve this.

I don't know why there is a different direction for path.
The C:\Temp is specified in the Visual Administrator in the property MITEMP in the Configuration Adapter.
The same for the location C:\sapdb for the MISP property.
It is the Mobile Administrator who is writing the paths with other slash. I don't know how to specify that.
Regarding the NWMICLIENT I used the file NWMCLIENT21_0-20000910.SCA which I downloaded from http://service.sap.com/swdc and then Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group
Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group" SAP NetWeaver" SAP NETWEAVER" SAP NETWEAVER 7.0" Entry by Component" MI Client
I didn't download the NWADMIN, but I'm also not sure how to install this. Is this with the same way as deploying mobile components?

Create setup package failed

Hello,
I try to create a setup package in NetWeaver Mobile Administrator. I created a device configuration with the framework and one with DB2E and XMAM application.
I assigned this to a hierarchy and added the technical user mi_service.
When I create a package it stops and in the log viewer I see :
0050 tc.mobile.admin.bl 172815 20070223 Retrieving device id failed.
In the step before (which is OK) I see:
0070 tc.mobile.admin.bl 172812 20070223 Set the communication server port to 45001
Which port is this? Don't know this one...
Anyone else got this problem?

Hi Jeroen,
when you do setup package creation leveraging the NWMA you have to use a platform based on WIN32. Say your J2EE needs to run on a Windows 32 Box. If you run your J2EE on a different platform you can setup an additional J2EE for SPC. Refer to the how to guides section for doing so (e.g. for NW04 see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80046076-a387-2910-4ba2-c009be46ab60).
What SPC does is simulating a typical user installation, say it installs a client on the J2EE, syncs to get a device ID, syncs again to get apps and data. In the end all gets packed together.
If you get the error that the device ID cannot be received it can have several reasons:
- Client cannot startup on the J2EE (e.g. unsupported platform)
- Services not correctly enabled in SICF (e.g. not active, wrong service user/password)
What you can do is check in the SPC Folder on the J2EE for the temporary installation folder and check the client traces, they will typically point you to a solution. Since SP19, I guess, these logs can as well be downloaded in the NWMA (where typically the setup package would be ready for download).

A week i created a setup package With SP18 0.0 . Everything worked fine..
I download the Sca file for NWMADMIN AND NWMCLIENT and
Today i deployed Patch 0.2 to NWMADMIN and Patch 0.6 to NWMCLIENT .
I am getting these errors..

And create a Cabwiz file . Can i do this on my pc and zip the file and send it to basis and copy it on server or this should be done on server itself.

Error creating setup package

Hi all,
I'm getting the following error when the Log Viewer tab is selected when trying to create a setup package in the web console,

I have rebuilt the device and got a new device id and successfully deployed the application on it and attempted to create the setup package again but got the exact same error. Anyone come across this before? Any help greatly appreciated,

what version are you on?
Confusing part is: you say you want to build package for PDA - but pathname shown is for PC!
Furthernore: in MI7.0 it was not possible to build setup packages for PDA as I used it last time.

Retrieving device id failed while trying to create setup package

Hi,
We are on SAP MI 2.5 ; SP21 (NW2004). I am trying to create a setup package including the following:
1. DB2E version 912
2. MI2.5 SP18 Framework
3. Addon MI 2.5 SP21 (to pacth MI SP18 to MI SP21)
4. MAU 3.0 SP05
I have included the device configuration in the sequence that they appear above into a Hierarchy Group and assigned users to this group.
When trying to create the set up package for any of these users I get the following error:
0050 tc.mobile.admin.bl ; 172344 20080331 Retrieving device id failed.
The last successful statement in the log Viewer is (i.e. before the above error appears)
"Set the communication server port to 45004"
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have tried what you have suggested. It doesn't throw an error any more but the setup package creation is not completed. Looking at the log viewer It seems that it stuck at the following point:

This point is the same that was previously kicking the error.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Creation of Setup package Failed

Hi all,
I tried creating setup package for individual User.
However it is giving me error in Log viewer.
1. Level 0010 tc.mobile.admin.bl : Message:Creation of virtual mi instance failed.
2.Level:0050 tc.mobile.admin.bl.setup: Message:Reading the location of the packages folder failed. Cannot continue with package generation.
3.Level:0050 tc.mobile.admin.bl.setup Message:The property MISP is not configured. Check settings of service Configuration Adapter under the root mobile_setupGeneration

Hi Neha,
There is some mistake in understanding here.
Framework will be always MOBILEENGINE_JSP OR MOBILEENGINE_AWT. and not MAU. There is no need to create an sda file for framework. The mobile component for Framework will get created when your basis administrator deploys the NWMCLIENT. Once it is deployed reload it.
Please follow these steps.
1. Create one DC, assign MOBILEENGINE_JSP (mobile component) with version that is deployed, say 1002 (If SP10 Patch 02). Assign OS condition to this DC.
2. Create one more DC for Application, Assign your application as before.
3. Assign both the DCs to the hierarchy group.
4. Create setup package for one of the users in the setup package. may be MI_SERVICE.
There will not be any framework mobile component with version R01. It will be something like 1903 which means SP19 Patch 03. R01 may be the one created by someone which cannot be used for Setup package.

NetWeaver Administrator reports "SLDirectory is not accessible"

Hi,
NetWeaver Administrator (http://host:port/nwa) on our SP12 XI installation reports:
System Landscape Directory is not accessible
Only local system can be administered
The SLD is actually on the same server and is working correctly, even accoding to the WebDynpro Content Administration.
Anyone know what might be wrong?

Hi Dmitriy,
the setup of the NetWeaver Administrator connections to SLD is described in the Monitoring Setup Guide. There is a quick link in Service Marketplace /nwa -> media library -> documentation -> Monitoring Setup Guide.
Basically the steps to connect NWA to SLD are the following (if you have already registered the systems of your system landscape to SLD and have set up the monitoring for the systems):
- In the Visual Administrator of the Central Monitoring System (CEN)(NWA-System) under Server->Services-> SLD Data Suppliers you have to enter the CIM Client Generation Settings (http connection to SLD with User/PWD). Mark the applications "sap.com/tclmwebadminmainframewd/webdynpro/public/lib/app.jar" and
"sap.com/tclmwebadminsldwd/webdynpro/public/lib/app.jar" (This enables the NWA to get data from SLD.)
- In the ABAP Engine of CEN, the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI must be maintained, the connection data for SLD must be entered in transaction SLDAPICUST. (This connection helps entering monitored systems in SLD.) Additionally you require a JCo RFC Connection which points from the NWA system to the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI of CEN. Create this connection in the Visual Administrator of the NWA system under Server -> Services -> JCo RFC Provider.
- SLD gateway information has to be entered in transaction RZ70 of the Central Monitoring System. (With this transaction the data transport from CEN to SLD is managed.)
- For each administered system you can store the login data with help of the Destination Service of the NWA system. (If you don't do this you get login popups in NWA for all administered systems). You can enter the login data in Visual Administrator -> Server -> Services -> Destinations as described in the documentation.
All the steps are described in detail in the Monitoring Setup Guide.

Error in Setup Package - yellow state

Hi Expert,
I have a problem when you build a setup package for a PDA.
When creating the PDA and leave in an "initial" and press the button to create setup package, the monitor always shows yellow status. The TX: SMQ2 indicates no queue run.
I have implemented the USE_BULK_INSERTS parameter in DOE CONFIGURATION.
Some idea of the problem?

The Queue Details:
Number of Unread Messages: 3.215
Number of Unread Messages: 11.586.426
To trigger the creation of setup package, the monitor displays in task yellow status, and associate TX:SDOE_SETUP not shows nothing. The device status changes to "Pending for Registration" and you can not re-creating the setup package.
The problem apparently occurs when the Setup Data is more than 5MB, since when is less than this, the setup package is created and appears in TX: SDOE_SETUP
Any ideas because as much Data, the setup is not generated?

We are trying to create a setup package (SP20 client) for our application
after assinging the device configurations their roles and conditions to the Hierarchy Group which we created It gives the following error while creation of the setup package

However we tried to dig up for it in help.sap.com and forum we could not resolve the error .

This problem is already resolved in SP20. Kindly make use of the latest patch of NWMADMIN and NWMClient and the error should get resolved.

Run Setup.exe. after creating a package.. Install progress bar goes 0-100 then back 100-0 and nothing gets installed?

As stated I have made a package for windows running x64 8.1. Package creates successfully but when running either the .msi or the setup.exe it goes to install then rolls back and nothing happens.. no error message.

Setup Package Information

Hi,
I have been trying to create a setup package in both Netweaver 7.0 SP 11 and SP 17. I have followed the instruction provided in the SAP Help (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/45/1eb142a174c811e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm).
Iam able to create the setup.zip for instalation on a windows XP system, when I look at the structure of the zipfile it looks correct. However when I run the setup.exe I get an empty directory: C:\Program Files\SAP\MobileInfrastructure\
Any ideas what may be causing the "imcomplete" installation.

Seems as you would probably better be served by using an internal Oracle forum, as you are using a non-public build and are working in a specific oracle apps environment that the public knows nothing about.

Windows CCP Failing to create a package successfully....

I have been trying to create a test package with CCP. I have limited it to include just Acrobat 11 and updates to make the logs easier to follow:
OS: Windows 8 64bit

While a package is created if you try to execute it it crashes to desktop.

Could you please try a different network source to create a package.

The following host/port combinations may need to be whitelisted when logging in with an Adobe ID to download, install, and activate licensing for applications via a Creative Cloud membership.

We donu2019t have NWDI setup in our landscape; therefore I would like to know that how i can initiate for creating business package of custom specific application development using Web Dynpro JAVA and DB Oracle. If anyone has idea about this type of in-house development, please suggest.

Please setup NWDI for creating custom business pachage.
Download DTR, CBS and CMS same patch level as your Server and delpoy.
then Create Software component in System Landscape Directory(SLD) and create custom business package track in the CMS for development using Web Dynpro JAVA

Problem while installing Setup package

Hi all,
A week before i installed setup package on one device it worked perfectly fine.
Today i created new setup package with parameter sets( MI_CONFIG and included parameter MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.Service=/sap/bc/MJC/mi_host
MI.Sync.ProtocolVersion=251500
And did not added these two lines in Mobileengine.config file.
My device is looping between two screen Ie Logon screen and change password screen. Whenever i enter the username and password it enters into Change password screen and then again to logon screen.
What can be the problem?

Hi Neha
This is because after after you have created a setup package, a configuration tells the user to change his password on this first login to the client. If you open the MobileEngine.config file you will find an entry called MobileEngine.Security.PasswordChangeRequired with a value true. Just set the value to false and restart MI. If the parameter is not present, add the same and restart. This should solve your problem and the change password page will never appear again.
