Creating small size table calendar on iPhoto 9

How can I create a small size table calendar (e.g 20x20 cm) on iPhoto (not the built-in wall calendar)?
Thank you
Duc

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your printer support 20 x 20 cm borderless printing? If so the do Print->PDF->Save PDF to iPhoto. This will create a jpg of each page of the calendar and save it to a new album in iPhoto. Then print each page to 20x20 stock with the following print settings: Paper size: 20x20 border; Print size: Borderless.
If your printer doesn't support that size borderless and you don't want a border around each page then try Old Toad's Tutorial #8 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card. This requires an image editor that supports layers.

  • How to create small size PDFs with reasonable quality images?

    Help me Obiwan Adobe!
There seem to be several utilities around the web that claim to do this, but I figured I'd ask the experts first. There must be some sort of step by step technique outlined somewhere that enables you to create PDFs that have reasonable image quality but don't come with such extreme weight that they can't be emailed.
I have seen suggestions ranging from using the Print to PDF function in InDesign (sometimes that works, sometimes not), to exporting out of InDesign using the PDF/X1a preset (used to work ok, but now does not seem to crunch the files down as much as they used to) to adjusting preferences to a lower screen resolution—not in the export or save as dialog box—then saving as reduced size. I've tried almost every technique I have seen but to no avail.
So I assume there is something I am missing. In builiding an InDesign file that you want to severely compress, is it better to use JPEGs or other PDFs or something else for placed images?
I know it is alot to ask, and clearly native Acrobat functions are not much help, but I have several uses for this. I do a lot of book design and prefer to send drafts to clients that are at least good enough for them to look at without fuzzy images. I also would like to put together a portfolio PDF document that does not require sending through FTP. In fact most places that ask for my portfolio PDF want it smaller than 1.5 MB. That seems to be impossible.
So there you go. Somebody needs to write a book. In fact, if I get some good direction, maybe I'll do it.
    Thanks

If your PDF will be printed to any kind of quality requirement, it's best to stick with Adobe's own PDF tools for creation and slimming, rather than third-party.
Whatever choices you make for processing multiple PDFs, full Acrobat offers batch operations.
Depending on your clients' needs, you could consider providing several file sizes. For example, a small one with marginal graphic quality for email, and links to larger files of better quality. If bandwidth and download time are issues for clients, perhaps create a link from each marginal-quaity graphic in your small PDF to a single better-quality downloadable graphic.
An option for reducing file size instead of lowering resolution or using lossier compression, is to consider creating images with fewer bits-per-pixel. This would affect color more than detail. Just a thought.

  • Can I create a printed calendar in iphoto with ipad.  Don't see that option.

IPhoto used in past by others in family to create a family calendar as Xmas gift.  This year it is my job. Downloaded iPhoto for iPad from App Store. (Paid $4.99). Now can't find path to create a calendar.  Description of iPhoto includes calendar, but seems ambiguous on use of iPhoto iPad app for this. Maybe can only do calendars on the Mac version?  Can I use iPhoto for iPad to make a calendar?

iPhoto on the iPad can be used to make photo books, but not calendars. It is a very different program from the Mac version of iPhoto. I hope you have access to a mac to create your christmas calendar.

Search the AppStore for "Foto Calendar". I have not tried any of these apps, but there are quite a few, that claim to be able to create an "Awesome foto calendar"

No.  The max no. of months you can create a calendar with is 24.  You might try using iCal.  It's perpetual.

  • Unable to create books or calendar in iphoto 08

    Hi,
I bought my computer two months ago and am now trying to create a book and calendar for the holidays, but neither are working. The Calendar button does nothing and the book button works, but when the drop-down screen comes up, I am unable to choose what "type" of book I want, nor is there any info on the box to the left. I have visited the genius bar and have called support and no one has been able to help me. They even re-installed the operating system, iLife, iphoto, etc. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have solved it or if anyone has any advice?
    Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First have you installed the latest iPhoto 7.1.1 update and theiLife Support 8.1.1 update? If not do so followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility and try again.
If the above doesn't fix the problem it looks like you'll have to reinstall iPhoto from the disks that it came on, probably the system install disks that came with your computer. Here's what you'll have to do:
1 - delete the current application.
2 - delete any files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.
3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder.
Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.
5 - boot into the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto. (Note: if you ever use iDVD you might try it first and see if it's themes are available. If not you'll have to do the same for iDVD as I laid out for iPhoto).
After installing reinstall the iPhoto 7.1.1 updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime, 7.3.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How to create a Dynamic table without knowing fieldcat size

Hi all, i'm trying to insert a (Jointer) of 3 selections form diffrent tables in an other dynamic table but i dont know the size of my final table, so i dont know how to create a fieldcatalog.
Can we create an internal table with those caractiristics ????

    Hi,
If you know which fields (ABAP Dictionary) you're selecting then you know their size; use the following FM call: DD_NAMETAB_TO_DDFIELDS
Then you can use the following method to create your dynamic table: cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table

  • Creating a page (a) small size (b) no browser toolbar

This question is very elementary but I just want to get on
with my project, not do a major self-education exercise!
I want to create what I call a "definition window." That is,
when a site user clicks a link to. for example, get a definition of
a word, a small window pops up, big enough for a definition, and
with no controls at all except to minimise or close the window - in
    particular, no browser toolbar.
I can find examples on other websites, but either they don't
give a "view source" possibility, or the source doesn't tell me how
    to do it.
The key thing is that the window opens in a small size. Lack
of browser toolbar is desirable, but not essential.
Any clues how to do this would be very welcome.
    With many thanks

  • ICal import bug when creating calendars in iPhoto 2011

    Hi,
I just created a calendar in the new iPhoto 2011 and imported an iCal calendar to the project.
What I discovered is that it only imports one event per day to the calendar in iPhoto, although the calendar in iCal has sometimes more than one event per day.
Fx. in my calendar in iCal I have two events on a certain date, f.x my mothers birthday and my son's birthday on January 18th. However when importing this calendar to the calendar project in iPhoto only my mothers name gets imported. This was not an issue in iPhoto 2010.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Definitely a bug and unforgivable given the time of year - I usually order a couple of calendars as Christmas presents - If I can't order them in time for Christmas then Apple have lost the business.
It seems to me that iLife 11 was rushed out for Christmas. First the appalling upgrade problems and then the realisation that Calendars were not included. Two patches later and we still have an un-useable Calendar.
The worst part about it is, it's not obvious - I wonder how many people have ordered calendars and not noticed the missing Birthdays. I can see a lot of disappointed friends and relatives next year whose birthdays will be missed.
My only hope is an old backup of my Macbook - pre upgrade. If I can boot from that disk, import my recent photos, import the latest version of the iCal Calendar events, I can recreate the Calendar with iPhoto '09. Not sure I can be bothered,

  • Creating & printing calendar from iphoto

    Hello,
I have create a calendar through Iphoto. Once finished, I sent it to Apple to be printed and its results is 100% ok.
But the design options are only the ones the software allows, and I need to do more modifications.
Then I printed to adobe pdf file, and I could do the modifications with photoshop for example.
Once everything is ready, and I get the finished calendar in a pdf file, I can NOT send it to apple to be printed because Iphone is not available to do so.
    Then:
    * Does anyone know any software where I could do this?
    regards
    david

You can't do what you want and have Apple print it.  You might be able to find a local printer who could print and bind the pdf file of the calendar. Or look for an online source for custom calendars and see if they can do what you want, either print the pdf file or customize the calendar.

  • I have a calendar on IPhoto that I had created in 2012 but never ordered. If I order it now will the year be updated?

    Hello there Apple buddies,
I have a question for whoever wants to help
I have a calendar on IPhoto that I had created in 2012 but never ordered.
If I order it now will the year be updated?

The year is set in the Calendar settings.
You can update it there, before ordering the Calendar.
And make a PDF-preview of the calendar, before ordering it:  iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture

  • Hi guys n girls. How do you copy a whole table to create a new table with all cell sizes in tact? Thanks for your help. Jason.

Hi guys n girls. How do you copy a whole table to create a new table with all cell sizes in tact? Thanks for your help. Jason.
when you copy n paste into a new table, all the cell sizes are changed.
is there a way to put in a new table from your templates into an existing file, different to the standard very basic ones in insert table.
I look forward to your answers.  Your help is very much appreciated.
Also how do you search for question answers already written in this support area please.

    Hi Jason,
In Numbers 3, you can select a whole table by clicking once in the table to make it active, then click once on the "bull's eye" at the top left.
Now copy and paste. All formatting (and any cell content) is pasted intact. In Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09) it is a little different for selecting a whole table. But I won't go into that unless you are using Numbers '09. Please reply.
I don't like the look of the tables in Insert Table. I keep custom tables in My Templates. I have set Numbers > Preferences > General > For New Documents > Use template: (name of my favourite custom template)
That opens when I launch Numbers, or ask for a new document (command n). Note that if you follow this preference setting, then Menu > File > New From Template Chooser (for another template) requires you to hold down the option key in that menu.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Looking for software or a service with which I can create a personalized photo calendar

I am looking for software or a service with which I can create a personalized photo calendar. Any recommendations?
    Jerry

    Thanks for the reply.
iPhoto, unfortunately, has some real problems in my opinion. Control over image placement and size is limited. This is compounded by the fact that Apple has not made the job any easier by refusing to publish information such as recommended aspect ratios and pixel sizes of images used to create a calendar. Obviously, these both change as the page layouts change. But, I don't think it is too much to ask that Apple supply image aspect ratios for each frame size, 2:3, 3:4, 1:1, or something else. What pixel sizes are required for each frame size/aspect? It is impossible to place 2 photos (or 1 photo and a name) on one date should 2 birthdays fall on one day.
Further, there is no recommendation for color space to be used by the printer.
I am tired of trying out a photo in the calendar only to find it looks bad at the pixel size and aspect I chose, then have to go back to the original, re-crop, resize, and wrestle with bringing it back to iPhoto. (I use Aperture to organize my images.)
I must also add that I had a very bad experience with an iPhoto book earlier this year. Don't know if Apple has fixed the problems as I refuse to invest another 20 hours of time and more then $150.00 to find out.
I am seriously looking for something to replace iPhoto (unless changes are made) to do the 10 or 15 calendars for my family again this year (and possibly redo my book).

  • Re-saving photos in my library as a smaller size

is there anyway to select multiple photos and re-save them as a smaller size [some of my photos are 3-6mg and i don't need them to be that high of quality.]
    any thoughts/ideas?

I used automator to convert all my photos to a smaller size and then re-imported these to a new iphoto album. took some time but results in smaller photo sizes.
Only thing is that the EXIF data seems to get reset, and so the new, smaller photos all seem to be created on the day you converted them, rather than the day they were taken.
