If a user requested create a table on production database where DBA a should contact 1st.
form where dba get approval for create table.

are you asking who should DBA contact to ask if its ok to create a table for a user request?
is there a process in place to handle user requests? Follow it. If there isnt, put one in place and ask user to follow it too.
usually some managers approval which then comes to you to review.

what are the apps version local and remote database???
Snapshot too old errors occur because Oracle can 't reconstruct a consistent
image of a block for the purposes of a consistent read.
I feel at remote database, you are using UNDO, it will be rather easy to iincrease the undo retention time or increase the undo tablespace size.. if you are dealing with roll back segments, you may have rollback segments whose optimal values are too small...
increase roll back segments size and select again then

Mount STANDBY with EE software created from SE production database

We mount (by error) our STANDBY databases with Enterprise Edition EE softare.
Our production database is Standard Edition SE.
We apply the logs without problem, but we have intention the mount the STANDBY database with SE software.
-> Could be possible mount the STANDBY database without need to recreate it? Remember the origin db are created from SE software and mount the STANDBY with EE software.

i want to create one table (Table1)in database B, and then insert data into Table1 select ....from Table2 which is in database A.
i used the create database link (database name) connect to (database) indentified by .....
but ...i got the sqlException as i wrote before.

Could not create table on 'master' database

Hello,
I am new to the SQL Azure. When I tried to create table on master DB, i get following error.
Msg 262, Level 14, State 1, Line 1CREATE TABLE permission denied in database 'master'.
I tried to change role to 'db_owner' but have received following error.
Msg 15151, Level 16, State 1, Line 1Cannot alter the role 'db_owner', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.
I logged into master DB using the credentials I created while creating DB on the Azure. This is supposed to be 'sa'.
My question is, does SQL Azure allow to create objects (tables, stores procedures, triggers) on master DB. If yes, what am I doing wrong? If no, why?
My guess is that SQL Azure is not less than the On premises DB. It must be allowing objects creation on master DB.

For the answer of the question, you can read Joseph's. Azure SQL, so far, is less than the premise DB except its
cloud-based advantage. There're many limitations like less T-SQL features supported.

Creating table in other databases than Oracle

Hi
It would be nice to be able to create tables in a JDBC Connection in other databases than Oracle. Why limit it to Oracle when there is a SQL standard to work with?

Generic SQL isn't really as generic as people would like to believe.
In any case, we're working on that for an upcomming release, but with the current time constraints, we just got the Oracle table creation support done.
(The time is more on testing than writing the feature)
It'll get in there, but probably not in the next release.

Create tables in different database schemas using EJB 3 Entity Persistent

Hi All,
I would like to find out how to get the following tasks done using EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent:
( i ) Create tables in different schemas such as STUDENT under EDUCATION schema and table PATIENT in HOSPITAL schema. We can then reference them in SQL as EDUCATION.STUDENT and HOSPITAL.PATIENT.
( ii ) Reference these tables uniquely once they are created.
There are no pre-existing tables or naming conventions that needs to be adhere to in this situation.
I have no problem creating tables on the current schema in EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As far as i know you can use 'CREATE TABLE' to create tables.
Use it in an cn.execute() or cn.executeUpdate().
I'm not sure about the complete syntax for CREATE TABLE, since you also need to define you fields etc. Try looking on the net for an SQL manual.

Error when creating table in cloudscape database

I installed j2sdk1.4.0, j2sdkee1.3.1 on windows XP. I am able to start j2ee, cloudscape and deploy without error. I try to follow the J2EE tutorial to setting up the database, I go to the j2eetutorial/examples directory and type "ant create-savingsaccount-table", I got error "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: COM/cloudscape/tools/ij".
Following are the environment variables:
JAVA_HOME C:\j2sdk1.4.0
J2EE_HOME C:\j2sdkee1.3.1
CLASSPATH %JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\j2ee.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\jhall.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\system\cloudutil.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\system\cloudscape.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\cloudscape\cloudclient.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\cloudscape\RmiJdbc.jar

Options
1> Creat DB link and then fetch data.
Problem <<Performace issue and May be chance of Network chock >>
2> Using DBMS_REDFINITION package.
Problem <<Again we need 60GB Extra sapce to create New table and Related indexes >>
Can any one suggest me by any other way we can sync table at remote side with source with out adding space and no down time?

Do I need to install Oracle database 12c on PC to create tables for Weblogic server

I am new to WebLogic and I am following a book Java EE Development
with Eclipse published by PACKT Publishing to learn Java EE. I have installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse
on the PC and I am able to log into the WebLogic Server
Administration Console and set up a Data Source. However the next step is to create
tables for the database. The book says that the tables can be
created using SQL script run from the SQL command line.
I cannot see any way of inputting SQL script into the WebLogic
Server Admistration Console. Aslo there is no SQL Command line
in DOS.
I have put a previous question on the Oracle Forum about the above and I was advised to use SQL Plus
to create the tables for the weblogic server but no mention was made of installing Oracle database.
I have downloaded InstantClient SQL Plus and Instantclient Basic on a PC and
put the files into the same directory C:\SQLPlus but now I am having a problem in that it is
looking for a username and password when I run the sqlplus.exe file.
Now I assume that I need to have an installation of Oracle databse on the
PC so as to be able to use SQL Plus. Am I correct in this or can I create tables for the
datasource in weblogic without an Oracle database?

You should install it separately and also need to change the OBIEE's user.sh to tell it where is your Oracle client installed.

Error message "CREATE TABLE permission denied in database 'master'"

I am starting an application and I get the error message above. I do not want to creat tables in the master database - therefore I created my own database and added it to the Connection string:
DATABASE=TEST
But still the same message.

As said you have created the new database and want create a table. Please make sure you are connecting to the right database. If you are unable to get the connection string of the newly created database, please go to the management portal and click
on the newly created database and click on dashboard to get the connection strings for the database. Then you can add the same information from where you are trying to create table with the database name to proceed further.
It seems that you are connecting to master instead of connect against your new database that you have created. Once you connect to your database you will need permission to create tables. If you are "dbmanager" role you should not have any problem
to create it.

They have to study and take exams in Mathematics, English and Science, and can take other subjects such as History, French, Art etc. Most students will study between 5 and 10 different subjects before taking their GCSEs.

Now why i need this avgGCSE is because i have to create a view containing avgGCSE of the students it is used in the next question where a condition is avgGCSE is between 6.5 and 7
In order to calculate the avgGCSE the idea is to calculate the grades of the students and map the grades to their corresponding scores/values
add them all up and div by the total no of grades to get the avg.
