Creating Title Scroll

Hello group, I'm trying to make titles and end credits using "boris title crawl", however it just looks awefull and flickers...I did check the "deflicker" box but still flickers, I even added a flicker filter and tried to deinterlace, but just looks worse the more I do...any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

You can use the tooltip composition widget! You can expand those little blurb shapes, add content to them, and stack them on top of each other! then the thumbnails can serve as navigation!
Hope this helps!

  • FAQ: How can I create a scrolling gallery of images?

You can use Flash Catalyst to create galleries, for example a scrolling list of thumbnails that display larger images when clicked. Here are some tutorials that explain how:
Create a photo gallery (using list interactions), on the FlashCats blog
Create a data list component -- Don't let the title scare you, a "data list" is a really powerful component to get to know better; it enables creation of very creative visual things like galleries. When you need repeating items, consider using a data list.

    Hi there,
You can create a scroll motion where the image will fade out on scrolling, you need to use the Opacity tab under Scroll Effects Panel.
If you particularly need the image to be blur out, then you need to edit that image in any image editing program and make one copy of that image as blurred, then place both images (actual and blurred) on that page and use scroll motion or fade option to replace images.

  • What's the best way to create basic scrolling up end credits

What's the best way to create basic scrolling up end credits with FCE. I want create normal look after the film that has a gap between the working title and the name (center-aligned, two-column
    scrolls)
In the FCE Manual there was a good way to to do it with an asterisk (*) between the the words, but problem occurs when I had an umlaut (ÄÖ) in the word. The asterisk becomes visible and as many umlauts in the working title so many letters missing from the beginning of the name. I'm from Finland and we have lots of umlauts. So is there any other way to do this with FCE.

You can use Title Crawl in Boris to do this. You set it up like a word processor with a right aligned tab, a gap and then a left aligned tab. Double click in the ruler to create a tab stop. Double click it again to change its alignment. You use the tab key to move between the stops. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you play with it, I think you'll get it.
There is also Boris documentation on the install disc which will explain it more fully.

  • Creating non-scrolling credits

I'm trying to create titles for my project in FCPX - it's possible that I just have to buy Motion, as the tools here seem so few.  But I'm reluctant to experiment with a new program interface at this stage.  Anyway, I'm trying to create a simple, old-fashioned, non-scrolling credit title card, with actors on one side of the card and character names on the other.  I can't find any way to create or align text fields within titles in FCPX.  Should I be looking for Motion templates to import?  My first evening of searches didn't turn anything up.  Or maybe I should just buy Motion and hope that everything goes smoothly?
While I'm asking questions: I still haven't figured out how to make sure that a second title card has the same color as the first one.  Maybe this is easy....
    Thanks. - Dan

Do you want to do something like this?
I did this by adding a generator to the timeline and then adding the Continuous title. Using the same generator clip for a second card would give the same color. Turn off the build in and out in the inspector if you do not wanrt that. Anyway play around in the title section of the inspector to gget the look and spacing you want.

  • Title Scroll using Photoshop

I'm attempting to do a title scroll for the end credits of a feature length film in Photoshop. I think I have it set up correctly in Photoshop (using Ken Stone's tutorial) but when I bring it into FCP it is SOOOOO teeny tiny that it is unreadable. I'm stumped! If I try to change the size using the wireframe it just gets big & blurry. I am monitoring on an external HDTV and it doesn't work anywhere. I've been scouring the message boards for more tips on doing a scroll this way but I am stumped. Any help?
    Thank you
    Carrie

We're using an HD format (960x720) - when I set it up that way in PS it doesn't work.
Without watching you work it's really hard to debug. The origin of your text file depends on your need for typographic tools and control. PS is fine for that. But most credit rolls are not continuous, they're actually two or more discreet pages that are traveling at exactly the same speeds so there is no apparent break between them.
Forget the realworld dimensions of your needs for now.
Create a document in PS that is 2000 pixesl tall and 500 pixels wide. Use a non-serif typeface at 36 pixels (points) and compose a random set of names and titles that more or less covers this document. Use white text. Save it over transparency.
Bring it into FCP project, drop it onto your timeline.
Double click it to open it into the Viewer, go to the motion tab and look at distorition and scale. Set scale to 100% and distortion to 0.
Now set two keyframes for the vertical travel.
    Render.
    Report back.
The two things you will have trouble with are trying to put effects in PS, don't, and pixel aspect distortion. There are books written about that, you're on your own there.

  • How do I create a scrolling slideshow in iMovie?

So I know how to make a basic slideshow in iMovie, but I'd like to create a "scrolling/sliding" slideshow (see link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXit8kxCCTg). That video uses videos, however, I'm using still pictures. The pictures can all just be side by side too, they don't have to stack like one on top of the other (I'll edit all my photos before hand to make them the same height). I'm using iMovie '11. I'll probably have 150-300 pictures all together. I'd also love to add a timeline to the bottom of the pictures to scroll with the pictures...should I just add that in to each individual picture before hand, and then put it all into iMovie, or can I do it all in iMovie? Also, towards the end of that youtube video, it all starts scrolling backwards....is there a way to do this???
Basically, I'd like to create a scrolling picture timeline with continuous text scrolling across the bottom that I can also play in reverse. Is this even possible in iMovie? Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. This is time sensitive. I really need to know how to do this by Friday. THANKS!!!!!

I agree with John that you could do this in Final Cut Pro X and Motion, but there is probably a plugin that you can purchase that would do the hard work in Motion for you.
I think it might be technically possible to do this in Motion and export out in a file that iMovie can import, but in the video example, there is a lot more going on such as multicam syncing that would require Final Cut Pro X. Motion's strength is not to use it as a video editor. It is best used as a way to create a special effect that you can then use in a FCPX project.  (just my opinion)
Here are some example of FCPX plugins. There are hundreds more.

  • How to keep Motion created titles looking sharp on final DVD?

Hello again... I'm having trouble keeping my motion created titles looking sharp on the final DVDSP project. Im exporting a title sequence out of motion into fcp and then exporting the full project via compressor for burn in DVDSP. I'm familiar with the usual temporary quality loss of titles generated with FCP or Livetype while viewing them within the FCP, Compressor, or DVDSP preview, and understand that once they are compressed and viewed on the TV they look great, but for some reason i can't get my motion created titles to do the same.
Out of Motion- i'm using the preset QT settings on the highest quality. Should i use a different setting out of Motion, perhaps an uncompressed QT or via compressor?

Thanks- i'm trying that now. And by the way.... sorry about the misunderstanding. I am exporting out of motion onto my desktop, and then importing the project using FCP.

  • FAQ: How do I create a scrolling panel in Flash Catalyst?

A common challenge in web design is finding space in the available window to display all of the necessary content. One solution is to create scrolling panels. A panel creates a well-defined container for content in the user interface. By adding scrolling content and a scroll bar, you can place a large amount of information in a limited space. To create a scrolling panel in Flash Catalyst, you need:
An object to define the panel area, such as a rectangle shape (optional)
Scrolling content, such as a long block of text or a series of images (required)
A scroll bar used to scroll the content (recommended)
Follow these steps in Flash Catalyst Help to create a scrolling panel:
    Create a scroll panel component
There are also video tutorials showing examples of different scrolling panels:

  • Why do my imported files or created titles always go to some random bin and not the one I want?

Everytime I import a file via right clicking > Import. It will always go to some random bin that I don't want it to. Each project it's a different bin. Even if I right click > import on the bin I want it to import into, the file will still go to some pre determined default folder. Usually one of my Footage folders a couple of layers down.
This same thing happens when created titles. I usually have to do a search to find the files. When I used CS2 and 3 I never had this problem.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to not have it go to a pre determined default bin? Or can I change that Bin?
Currently the only way I can get a file to go into the folder I want via importing is when I drag and drop it from my explorer window. I don't use the CS5 media browser because It doesn't have thumbnails.
    Thoughts, solutions?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Switch

    Close.
With this specific bin structure, if I import as you described the file imports to the Reception Bin. I tried the same proceedure with highlighting>righ clicking> and importing,  files to all bin levels even to the root level not inside a bin and it still goes to the reception bin. So for what ever reason for this project I am working on now the Reception Bin has become the default bin.
This holds true for titles as well, they get created in the reception bin.
I thought it might have something to do with the fact that I presort my footage into folders then "import folder" into the footage bin. I thought it might have something to do with the last bin I created or imported became a default bin but in this scenario. The Receception bin is the second to last folder I imported/created.

  • Brilliant way to create titles from text files

It was just pointed out to me by a fellow named Greg Hester that there is a way to create titles from a Microsoft Word file using Adobe InDesign. You can create as many titles as you need, and even change text positions around from title to title. Then you export as a PNG.
If you need to go back and change a color or a font type or size or whatever, you can do that to all of them at once and then just export again. They will automatically update in Premiere Pro.
I have never even opened InDesign before, and I was able to follow the instructions in this tutorial without a strain.
The tutorial doesn't show that you can import a frame capture from the video to help position the text, but you can.
This is very cool. If you subscribe to the Creative Cloud, then you have access to InDesign.

Best would be to have this template/style functionality in the title tool itself though
    Agreed.
Remember, all this InDesign thing does is create images that can be used as titles. My Macro created actual titles.
What really needs to happen is to have a plugin that creates titles from simple text files like the ones created from Notepad, so no Microsoft program is required. The file could have the text, the font style, and many other parameters, and then it could have the time to place the title on the sequence.
But in the meantime, this InDesign thing seems to be the best we can do for now. If, however, you want to use a fancy font style and it will all be in English, you can use my macro.

  • How to create 2 scroll bar in 2 canvas

    Hello All,
I will appreciate if somebody knows how to create 2 scroll bars in 2 Content canvases and all items text item belongs to one data block.
In data block property it shows only one scroll bar. Their is no property of scroll bar in canvas.
    Regards,
    Atif

    Go to the layout editor.
Take the Stacked canvas tool in the toolbox
draw a stacked canvas on the content canvas (the stacked can could be larger than the content one)
edit you item properties to display on the content canvas
adjust the window to the same width and weight properties than the content canvas.
The simplest way it to use the datablock wizard to create the data block, then indicate to show items not on the content canvas but the stacked canvas.

  • Can you create title cards in iphoto?

I am looking for an easy way to create title cards for a 200-image-long slide show. Can you do that in iPhoto? OldToad suggested using the card-creation aspect and saving the pdf in iPhoto but the version I'm using doesn't have that option on the menu (saves to iTunes, though).

Well a great start would be for you to tell us what you do have and what you have tried
Otherwise this will be an endless string of wild guesses
There are many different versions of iPhoto and each is different from the others - plus they run on different operating systems which can affect answers
