Creating user as good as sysadmin but with read only privs
Hi Folks I want to
creating user as good as sysadmin but having only read only privs
how can we do this.
Hi
1. First create a user like readonlyweblogic using some password in Weblogic Console. In Weblogic Console itself, select this new user and go to his Group Memberships and add a Group named Monitors. This means this user has Monitor role for Weblogic Console. Monitor is a Read Only access role to the weblogic console.
2. NOW, with full admin privileges user, login into EM Console. Select soa_infra, right click mouse -> Security -> Application Roles. On right side, click green arrow and see list of Roles shown. Select the role named SOAMonitors, click on this. And add a User to this that is created above like "readonlyweblogic".
3. Close all the browsers. Open a new browser and test weblogic console and em console with this new user.
I have this setup like this in many envs and they all work fine. They are read only access users for admin console and em console.
Thanks

Hi
How can I have a check box that a user checks and populates a field with read only text, then if another check box is checked it will allow user text input into that same field, her is my javascript
var a ="Not Applicable"
if (this.getField("Do").value == "Yes")
a=""
if (this.getField("DoNot").value =="Yes")
a=a + ""
event.value=a
say if the "Do" cb is checked, Not Applicable would populate the text field, and if the "DoNot" cb is checked it would allow user input into the same text field, the javascript I have will not allow user input,
thanks for any help I am new to javascriptAre these fields mutually exclusive?

How to create a user with read only access for ESB / BPEL Console
I need to create a user with read only access to ESB Console & BPEL Console. I have created a user
(esbreadonly) and assigned ascontrol_monitor role but user is still able to
delete services from ESB systems (such as DefaultSystem). Is there any way to
create a user that has strickly read only access to ESB Console & BPEL
Console
Thanks

Why this exception is occurring? Kindly help me with this, its a bit urgent!!!!Hi
Thanks

Sharepoint Permissions Application user with read only permissions
Friends,
I am trying to create a separate permission Group for an Executive(Department) Team who can access all the documents and lists in the portal with only read permissions because they need to see all the documents and lists in the libraries.
I can add them in to SP_Application_User group but i don't want them to edit the documents.
If i create a new group and set a separate permission level with read only setting, they cannot access all the documents in the document libraries and lists because some of the document libraries and lists have separate permission which overrided parent permissions.
Hope i will get help from any of you.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
ChakriHi,
For your issue, you could add the users to Central Administration > Application Management > Policy for Web Application and grant Full Read permissions.
With the configuration, these users have Read permission to the whole web application.

DI API - accessing objects with Read only permissions
Scenario: I have setup a user in B1 with "Read Only permissions" on the Business Partner. When I log into the DI API as this user and try instantiating the BP object, I get a message "Loged on user does not have permissions".
Why am I getting this? Shouldnt I be able to instantiate the object and read the property values. i understand that I cannot Add or Update because of read only permissions.
Is there a way we can retreive values for users using the DI API or should the best option be to write a SQL statement.
Thanks,
GopalRequiring the user to have full authorization to instantiate an object is a serious limitation for the DI API. It makes it virtually useless. After all it is supposed to be OOP and all the trimmings isnt it? It also takes a lot of control away from the user.
+1
Hi,
I have confirmation from B1 product definition, the DI API access for objects with Read only permissions will not be included in the 2007A version. It will be considered for the following version after 2007A.
There is a chapter called "Authorization Checks" in the SDK Help file specifying:
"SAP Business One performs authorization checks for the business objects and the infrastructure and meta data objects. If a user does not have full authorization to access the objects in SAP Business One, the user will not have permission to access the data belonging to the business objects using the DI API."

Backing up database with read-only tablespaces
I am trying to develop a script that will dynamically build RMAN scripts for backing up
a database with read-only tablespaces. The application running on this database creates
new tablespaces in read-write mode on weekly basis, populates them, and then puts them in read-only mode. So I need to backup all read-write tablespaces plus take backup of all read-only tablespaces once. The problem is that the application also includes a process that puts a tablespace back into read-write mode, updates it, and puts it back into read-write mode. So I need to be able to access "a history" of the tablespace - when was it put into read-only mode - to compare it with a history of backups. While history of backups is available in RMAN views, I couldn't find any way to extract tablspaces
history.
There should be RMAN command to the effect
"backup all read-write tablespaces and read-only tablespaces if they have not been backed up at least once since becoming read-only".

nulljust rsync the files to a compressed Zpool. do this using shadow migration, and you only loose access to the data for a few seconds.
1) make new dataset with compression
2) enable shadow migration between the new and old
3) change the database to use the new location
4) watch as data is automatically copied and compressed :-)
the the down side, you need extra space to pull the off. -
Make all the forms at a user level or responsibility level to be read only
Hi,
Please suggest me to make all the forms at a user level or responsibility level to be read only. So that when a particular user logs in, he gets all the form in read only mode or at a particular responsibility all the forms are read only so that we can attach this responsibility to the user for the same purpose.
Any ideas will be highly appreciated.check this blog,

Third party software is available,from AccessVia, that can be used to create and update templates. Sample sample sqt can help you to understand the required inputs (batchID, templateID, departmentID, locale).

Need Adobe Plugin that creates a view like 'story editor' but with text formatting
We would ideally like a third view in InDesign (other than the layout and story editor views) that behaves like MS Word's 'Normal View' ie. a long 'roll' of text like the story editor (no page breaks viewable) but with the text retaining its formatting (like layout view). Ideally anchored images would also be visible. This feature would be very helpful for us when working on long documents such as books when both content and layout is done from within InDesign. Does anyone know if a Plug-in like this exists? If not, would it be difficult for an InDesign developer to create such a plugin?
Many thanks for your assistance! Heulwenso odd, really. just because sometimes workflow separates copy writers and stylists -- sometimes -- it's one person.
so just to write a document - and edit it normally - you need to use two applications?
how does that make sense?
i understand making it *possible* to separate content and style -- but forcing everyone to do so -- even publishers of regular ole multi-page documents -- i mean -- why?
why does it make sense to force people into such a workflow -- where you cannot even edit your whole document?
oh -- but you can -- but you have to use a separate application?
how does that make sense?
weren't we able to do this in, what was it called: pagemaker? -
Cannot create user using Web Site Administration Tool with Oracle Express
Hello,
I am following the tutorial here to add roles/memberships/profiles etc. using the Oracle providers supplied by Oracle:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr2_db_prod/appdev/dotnet/aspprovider/aspprovider_otn.htm?_template=/ocom/print
This tutorial fails at step 7: When I click Create user (on the security tab) the web page brings me to a page that says:
"An error was encountered. Please return to the previous page and try again."
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Also, does anyone know if log files are created that I may take a look at to get more details about the error?
Thank you,
John DeAngelisHi John,
This is the forum for the Oracle Provider for OLE DB. You may want to post your question the forum for Oracle Providers for ASP.NET.
