Creating Videos with built in camera

Is this possible to day? Can i create videos with the built in cam on the mac books? Ifso what programs are there and are they free?

Record video with built in iSight?

My friend just got a new MacBook and we can't figure out if you can record video with the built in iSight. I know you can take pictures with Photo Booth, and from my research you can record video with the external iSight through iMovie. I figured you woud be able to do the same with the built in iSight, but when I open iMovie, it does not detect a camera. Can you not record video with the built in iSight or am I doing something wrong?

When you open iMovie look at the switch under the screen. You will see a camera on the left of the switch and scissors on left. Flip the switch to the camera and the built in camera should come on. Then on the screen it will say record with isight. That starts the record.

Is there any way to record video using the built in camera on the 1.83gh macbooks, i know you can use photobooth with the newer macbooks, but on the older macbooks photobooth does not allow you this option.
Any ideas?

You need Quick Time Pro to record video. QT Player does not allow this.

iMovie will allow you to record from your built in iSight as well.

Took videos with the same camera some are greyed out some are not

Firstly, I still suggest you using gpresult command to check your current GP settings. Follow the steps below to generate GPReport:
1. Open CMD
2. cd desktop
3. GPRESULT /H GPReport.html
4. GPReport.html
Secondly, you can use Process Monitor to capture the process of encrypt drive with Bitlocker, then check if there is any

Cannot record stereo track along with built-in camera

I'm hoping since imovie 6 is considered superior, by some, to more recent versions that knowledgeable users are still following this forum. I've got a pair of stereo mics going through a lexicon usb interface -- chosen as the input in audiomidi setup -- but imovie will only record them in mono. The same mics record fine in stereo for audio applications such as garageband. The best I can deduce is that when using my macbook's built-in camera -- that is, clicking 'record with isight' -- imovie will receive the audio from the interface, but only in mono -- as would be the case were I using the built-in mic as well. What has your experience been?

Open PhotoBooth in the Applications folder. I believe Command- T will trip the shutter. Check in the Menu bar.

Nope, you can only zoom to take still pictures. Zooming with the iPhone's video camera is not supported. However, in iMovie you can zoom in on your video.

I have created video with music and pictures. I have exported it. But all that shows is the music no pictures. I have done this before and it worked ok. Am I missing something?

I have created a video with pictures and music. When i export it, it goes into a MP4 video. which I have done before and it worked ok. Now the only thing on the MP4 video is music but not my pictures.
I am very new to this and have taught myself everything so far. I have no technical understanding. So please make any answers as basic as you can.

Quicktime player Won't Record with Built-in camera

I cannot get Quicktime to record video. iMovie 11 won't either (though the older version does)
I have tried every solution I can find to no avail.
I have the latest iMac software, latest player.

Problems with built-in camera. maybe just problems with photo booth?

My camera works fine in video chat, like with skype, but in photo booth the effects don't work properly. The menus of effects are scrambled and instead of the squares of previewed effects that you select from, I only see warped images and text. When I select an effect, the camera is either zoomed in oddly, or the picture frame is shifted over halfway over to the left to the point where I can't see part of the image. The rest of the screen is either green or black when the latter happens.
I have re-installed the newest version of photo booth several times, but this problem keeps coming up-- it was like this when I first got it. I have also tried to find the file where the preferences are kept, but it doesn't seem to exist.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just figured out that problems I was having with iSight were because of a widget I had downloaded ... it's basically a 'mirror' widget ... it would play in the background ... and was disabling the iSight camera (message like 'you can't use PhotoBooth because you have another application open etc) ... doesn't sound like this is your problem but just for reference in case anybody else is having problems and has that widget you have to lose the widget to be able to use iSight.

Hello Cody. I don't think RJ's suggestion will help you with this one.
in imovie hd (iLife 05). anyone ever run into this issue?Everybody does. According to Apple, the iSight built into an iMac G5 (iSight) is not able to capture video into iMovie.

Creating video with 5.1 + stereo with .wav stems in CS6

First of all, let me start with the fact that I'm a switcher from Final Cut Studio to Production Suite, so I'm not sure if I'm just not looking at this problem correctly. I have a finished film, and have received 5.1 audio stems (5 surround channels plus a LFE channel)and stereo master stems for broadcast. I need to create a finished file that has both the 5.1 audio attached and the stereo master. In FCP, I could set the audio to output 8 channels of audio, which I could then assign using QuickTime Pro 7. Can anyone suggest a workflow using CS6 Production? I'm trying to get away from the Apple product because I expect that sooner or later, new OS's won't support the old software.

Bill, close, but not really what I need to do - I have 8 mono .wav files, each represents a fully mixed down channel of 5.1 surround AND stereo, which is how the broadcaster expects to receive the file. What I need to be able to output is a video file that contains the 5.1 surround and stereo in the same file - not a mixdown of the combined files. Again, I'm sure there's something obvious I'm not seeing, but the output mapping only seems to be hardware based, and doesn't apply to file output.
I can get multichannel output, but there doesn't seem to be a method to assign those tracks as L, C, R, Ls, Rs,LF,Lt and Rt. Currently I have to do that in QuickTime Pro 7 (a discontinued product). I'm trying to figure out if I can do this inside of the Adobe Suite, or if I am going to need to look for third party solutions for this, as we have to supply media in this format on a regular basis.
