Hi Subhasini,
You do that via transaction bps_wb, you configure your web application there by means of selecting, text elemnts, tabstips etc and than assigning your planning parameters such as planning level and planning layout to those elments.....

U can use the transaction BPS_WB to create u r web interface builder and for execute check another transaction BPS_wef (check once).
UPSPM for planning folder not for web interface builder.

Creating web interface to databases using webdb

i am currently tring to create a web interface to support information stored within the company's databases. i would like to know the best possible way of achieving this. At present the company has data stored across many databases and i would like to know the best way to be able to extract the required information from the databses and display it onto the web browser.
Would using a view be the answer so that the data could be restricted so that only the required information is displayed on screen to users etc.

Variable Selection For User in Web Interface for BPS

Hi All,
I've created a manual Input sheet in BPS0 to upload target sales. User need to select the month, plant and then enter the target amount for each category. Its working fine.
Now I need to create web interface for user to upload the data every month. Using BPS_WB I've created the interface (with help of Wizard). I'm getting the input sheet. But I'm not able to get screen where user can select the parameters?
How to get this? It should work like web report, where user select the report variables then execute. Only difference here is user will have to enter the data for selected variable.

I have created web interface. For this I have done like this:
1) Types bps_wb transaction code
2) I have clicked on Web Interface --> Create
3) I have checked check boxes to create save pushbutton, exit button etc.
4) Then I clicked on create button
5) After that I generated the application
6) Then I clicked on Display Perview button. I can see that Page 1 is getting displayed on top left side.
7) I want to align this header text 'Page 1' in central position in page. I also want to underline it. How I can do so?

I would provide a java standalone application. In parallel, I want create web interface (HTML+CSS+JS) that can write configuration files and read output files.
Can I avoid the use of tomcat server ? May be, I know nice solution like jetty : is-it difficult ?
Anyway, I'm looking for any piece of advice ..

What are the technical requirements? Just choose the server based on that.

Creating service desk message via web interface

I have setup the servie desk and use the incident management workcenter to view the messages. In that workcenter there is a link that allows one to create a message via a web interface. When that webpage opens there are 3 tabs. The first tab is your Problem discription tab the second one is Additional Information tab. In that tab there are 3 choices Solution, Project and Process. When i select a project and then go to the process tab i dont see any process there (i assume these are business process for the project that was choosen). Does any one have additional information regards this functionality.

Is it possible to create framework folder libraries in teh standard web interface

I'm just setting up a system and using a VDI so it will take me a while to get the desktop integration installed. Using the standard 16200/cs web interface, under the top level of framework folders is Enterprise libraries and I want to create some libraries under the but there's only View and Search options available. is it possible to create them using the old interface?

You can't. To create a new schedule, use the Operator or Designer tool.

3640 MCU - Conferences Created via the web interface

When a conference is created via the 3640 web interface, it will timeout in 30 minutes if no one joins the conference. Can and if so, how can you change that timeout value?

I don't think there's an adjustment for this. You should probably call Cisco and see.

LIST OF VALUES not Populating in BPS WEB INTERFACE ( LAYOUTS )

I have created a WEB interface for BPS in BI ( version 7.0) . But when i execute this in internet explorer, I do not get the LIST OF VALUES for Material.
When I click on "input help" the system open a new window for "Value selection". When I specify the material code, it gives me blank LIST OF VALUES.
But it is working for other fields like Customer, UOM in the same layout.
Please suggest some solution.

Master data is avaliable for the Material Code. The problem is in Internet Explorer and not in SAP GUI .
If i run Planning folder for the same layou in SAP GUI it is working fine.

Displaying a BW query in web interface

Hello People ,
I am trying to see a BW query in a web interface . I will tell you how am I doing it . I run the transaction RRMX which opens an excel sheet and gives me a tol bar from which I open a query . Then I choose info areas from the next window and it shows me a tree structure with two nodes
1) Financial
2) Industry sectors
I expand industry sectors > retail > staff works
This takes me to two nodes
1)       operational
2)       sales infocube
I expand sales infocube and this takes me to a couple of nodes
1)       Key business driver
2)       Manager forcasted sales
3)       Productivity data source
4)       .
5)       .etc
I select key business driver and choose the CHANGE icon from the toolbar . This opens the query designer . There I have an icon in the toolbar which says display quey on web . I click that and it attempts to display the query in internet explorer .
Now the problem is the the message that appears on the browser is
Warning sign : variable OFPER for characterstic fiscal year/period has been converted to required entry .
Error sign : Error when generating data provider .
Now my question is what does this message mean ?Does this mean that the required content that I am trying to access has not been activated or there is some configurational issue ?

Hi Deepak,
It means that there is a selection screen for Fiscal period in which you have to enter the Fiscal Period. Only for the Fiscal period for which you entered the data would be displayed.
But the best way to create teh web report is to goto Web Application Designer -> Drag and drop the "Table" webitem on the right hand side -> Assign the Query to the web item. Now execute it in browser from the Web Application designer. Copy the link and use it whenver you want it.

Executing the planning function while opening the web interface

I have created a planning area based on multiprovider.This multiprovider is based on two transactional cube ie,COPA cube and Cost Center cube.
This planning area is meant for enabling integrated planning.One plans in COPA cube and other plans in Cost Center cube the income statement gets planned based on this two.
I selected planning items in multiprovider layout to display the income statement.The layout is as follows:
PlanningItem Amount
Net Sales: 9.000,00 INR (This comes from COPA)
Sales Overheads: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Depreciation: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Other Expenses: 300,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
EBIT: 0,00 INR
Interest Income: 0,00 INR
Interest Expense: 0,00 INR
Operating Income: 0,00 INR
Taxes: 0,00 INR
Now EBIT planning item is to be calculated from the planning items as follows:
EBIT = Net Sales-Sales Overheads-Depriciation-Other Expenses
For this i have created a planning function which calculates EBIT.This function works properly,there are no issues in it.
My problem is that i want this function to be executed as soon as i open the web interface for my planning application and the result should be as follows:
PlanningItem Amount
Net Sales: 9.000,00 INR (This comes from COPA)
Sales Overheads: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Depreciation: 200,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
Other Expenses: 300,00 INR (This comes from Cost Center)
EBIT: 8.300,00 INR
Interest Income: 0,00 INR
Interest Expense: 0,00 INR
Operating Income: 0,00 INR
Taxes: 0,00 INR
Can anybody suggest how to go about this problem?

Hi Yogesh,
as far as i know, there is no standard functionality for that purpose, but there are workaround for it.
1. Modify the BSP Application.
 Go to SE80 --> Repository Browser --> BSP Application --> your WI name --> page with flow logic --> double click on page1.htm --> Event handler tabstrip --> on the drop down selection press F1 --> add a function module that call you BPS function in specific event (e.g: OnInitialization).
2. Use WI-Exit Class / WI-Extention (ABAP OO).
Here you need to create sub class from Class: CL_UPWB_BSP_APPL, and assign the class to your WI. You can then add a function module that call you BPS function in method:
2.1. Load --> performed only once on intial execution of WI.
2.2. Initialisation --> called once for each server response.
2.3. Dispatch --> called at each action and also for each WI component.
You can see further information in SAP how to paper:

You can call your BPS function with BPS API FM (See F.Group: UPC_API)
But there is also more easier way to realize your ebit calculation. If you define your EBIT calc. manually in layout (define with manually defined Lead column). With this way, You will always get your EBIT analog with inputed values.
Then you add your EBIT calc.function to Layout Component in WI in property: 'Function After Data Change'.

P&L report (using web interface builder)???

Hi all,
Can someone explain BPS report concept for me?
For example,
In my P&L report, I will have fixed cost, variable cost, and revenue...etc.
I created fixed cost layout, variable cost layout, and revenue layout...etc.
My question is how those layouts generate a P&L report on the web interface??? If I enter planning data in the fixed cost layout and the values should be in the P&L report as well. How can I create P&L report in the web interface after I finished all layouts???Thank you for sharing

How to create web service for a Java class in SAP NetWeaver Studio

i am using SAP Netweaver Developer Studio.have created a normal java project and i want to create web service for one of the classes in this project. i used the Web Service Creation Wizard to create a web service for this class. but it says there's no methods available for VI. all my methods in this class are public, what should i do?

I guess there are other ways. But this is an easy way, if you find the right wizards.
Besides this it is good practise to define interface methods so that session bean implement these interface methods, and thus seperate the interface from the implementation.
In this approach you will need 3 projects:
An enterprise application project (will contain EJB Module)
An EJB Module project (will contain session bean)
A Java project (contains code that implements the session bean methods)
In my previous post I suggested to use a J2EE web mudule project. This was a mistake, it should be EJB module.
But it should be possible to do it in another way. It is up to you.
