Creating XML DOM with Escape characters

I am using DOM to generate xml fie. Setting some chinese character string which is hardcoded for one of node value.
When i am setting value to xml node i am passing it as "∆" but DOM automatically converts this string and store into xml file as "&#x2206"
Because of this i can not show proper chinese characters in PDF. How i can avoid this ? Is it possible to store chinese character as "&#x2206" itself inside xml?

When setting the value from java you can use the real unicode character. Assuming with ࢞ you want to write the Unicode-Character at Codepoint 0x2206 you could just use "\u2206" in a java String to encode it. The XML library has to take care of how it's encoded in the final xml file.

I'm working on an application where LoadUserProfile() is being used to remotely load a user profile on a machine. The token being passed to LoadUserProfile() is obtained from LogonUser().
When doing this only with a Domain Admin user which is added in Active Directory, it creates a profile with Chinese characters in the C:\Users\ folder of the remote machine. Note that this happens only when logging in for the first time with
this Domain Admin account remotely on that machine.

CreateProfile won't load the profile. You need to use LoadUserProfile to load the profile, and you need to query for a roaming profile path to put in the lpProfileInfo parameter if you want to include that as well. You need a token for a
user to call LoadUserProfile, but not a profile handle. LoadUserProfile will populate that for you before it returns if it was successful. See this excerpt from

Creating XML files with the DME

Hi All,
I'm working on an integration project between my company and HSBC, they are requesting that we supply our AP payment files for foreign currency in XML format.
I have some limited experience with the DME and know it can create XML files, however, the elements available for XML files are different to standard flat files. Also it doesnt seem like I can create files with multiple levels? e.g.

......... <Id>
............... <OrgId>
...................... <BkPtyId>ABC00103003</BkPtyId>
.............. </OrgId>
........ </Id>
</InitgPty>
Does anyone have any documentation or experience with creating XML files with DME?

Web Logic 10.3 upgrade causes issues with escaped characters in JSP.

We recently upgraded our application servers from Weblogic 9.2 to Weblogic 10.3 and we are having an issue with escaped characters in a JSP code. Here is an example of what we are seeing:
var convertedBody1 = document.getElementById('body').value.replace(/\$FIRST_NAME\$/g, firstName);
This code works in Weblogic 9.2. In Weblogic 10.3 we have to make the following changes:
var convertedBody1 = document.getElementById('body').value.replace(/\$FIRST_NAME\$/g, firstName);

Create XML docs with hierarchy of tags and attr defined in databaste tables

Hi,
My problem is a little unique one. I want the ability to define the structure of the XML document (i.e. the hierarchy of element tags and attribute names) in the database tables. The values of tags and attributes will also be populated at runtime in tables.
Then write some generic API that reads the structure of the XML document through the database tables and spits out an XML document based on this structure and values stored in the tables.
So, basically, I want the tag names and values both to be values in the database rather than the tag names being the columns in database tables.
With this I should be able to have one procedure/function that can serve the purpose of creating XML documents with different structures by just specifying that structure in the form of database tables.
Almost all the Oracle XML utilities I read about, create XML docs based on a SQL query with tag names being columns in the database tables. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Create xml file with values from context

Hi experts!
I am trying to implement a WD application that will have some input fields, the value of those input fields will be used to create an xml file with a certain format and then sent to a certain application.
Apart from this i want to read an xml file back from the application and then fill some other context nodes with values from the xml file.
Is there any standard used code to do this??
If not how can i do this???

XMLBuilder
for example in my XML two tag item will be there e.g. Title and Organizer,and from ur WebDynpro view you need to pass value for the XML tag.
And u need to call buildXML()function of builder class to generate XML, in that i have passed bean object to get the values of tags. you need to set the value in bean from the view ui context.

Create XML file with worksheet's dynamically assigned through XSLT

I have a requirement to create a xml file with worksheets dynamically created based on a field value in the internal table .
I have all my values in internal table, and am calling the transformation from bsp application.
Say the internal table has field dataxyz, for every change in value in this field dataxyz i need to create separate worksheet and populate that sheet with some corresponding values .
please guide me how to create worksheet dynamically.

Hi I have a requirement like, I need to create an xml file for header and item details. For 1 header there may be multiple line items.
I did search in forums some where I came to know that we can use XSL:IF to achieve this. but I could not able to do this.

Issue with escaping characters and php

We are working on a web page using php and Oracle. We have troubles dealing with the diferent escaping characters when inserting/retrieving data (magic quotes is on but adding the backslash doesn't help :( ).
We would like to know the correct way of dealing with those characters ( ' " / /n ...).

Do NOT use addslashes/stripslashes to escape your queries. I use this function to do the escaping:
function escapeSQL($string, $wildcard=false)
$result = str_replace("'","''",$string);
if ($wildcard == true) $result = str_replace("%","%%",$result);
return $result;
It basically replaces ' with ''.
If you set $wildcard to false, then '%' is considered to be an actual '%' (for 'like' expressions). If you set it to true, a % is escaped to %% too.

Problem with base64 encoding an xml file with accented characters

File Adapter write XML file with special characters

Hi,
I have a BPEL processes which use DB adapter to retrieve record and output in a XML document using File Adapter.
In the table, some records contain these special characters - ">" , "<" , "." . I was expecting the file adapter will convert it to escape characters, but it didn't happen. it just put the same value back to the XML file, which cause other system to reject the file. Do anyone know how to resolve this ?
The version of SOA is 10.1.3.4

one option is to specify validateXML on the partnerlink (that describes the file adapter endpoint) such as shown here

Dealing with escape characters

I have a command that works if I represent it as "\003"+command+"\r" because my command needs to be preceded by the char 'x03' and tailed by the char 'x0d'. The literals "\003" and "\r" are being converted as I wish into their equivalent byte values.
If I use Java string variables 'start' and 'end' to hold the values "\003" and "\r" and I issue my command as 'start+command+end', the start and end values are NOT converted into byte values. They remain represented as they are written i.e my string command is preceded by '\003' and ends with '\r'.
How can I convert escape characters stored in string variable into their byte equivalents?

Please show us the code, because what you say isn't clear. If the Strings are written as
String start = "\003"; // etx
String end = "\r"; //crIt should work.
Often this sort of thing is easier to do with character variable. eg.
char start = 3; // etx
char end = 13; // crI also wonder why you are using etx (end of text) as the start of text, the usual choice would be stx=\002. Also, none of this has anything to do with "byte" values, they are characters and take 2 bytes each. Your network code can do that conversion for you after you choose your character set. Is it UTF8, Latin-1, or some other.

SQL Error : missing expression - Creating XML file with ODI

I saw threads about errors like this and read that maybe it can come from how I chose the staging area. I still can't see where the problem is. I'm trying to create an xml file from data stored in a Oracle database. The interface which execution fails select data from tables and create a tag in the XML file. Here are information about it :
The staging area is diferent from the target and is an oracle database schema. (I guess it creates temporary tables in that schema ?)
In the flow tab, the LKM is LKM SQL to SQL, the option delete temporary objects is set to yes.
The IKM choice for the target is IKM SQL Control Append and options are as following :
- insert : yes
- commit : yes
- flow contreol : no
- recycle errors : no
- static control : no
- truncate : no
- delete all : no
- create target table : yes
- delete temporary objects : yes
Columns mapping in the target are the following :
WKID        >     THEADER.WKID
EXTID        >     THEADER.EXTID
ORDER     >     THEADER.ORDER
INSTFK     >     THEADER.INSTFK
For every column in the target :
- Run on source
- Updating : insert, update and ud4 are checked
no update key is defined
In the operator, the step failing when running the interface is the loading data in the work table.
If you need the SQL request in the execution plan, or anything else, please tell me.

In Infopath 2010 I want to generate a XML-element with C#.
I've got a XML-structure with following elements:

/my:meineFelder/my:gruppe1/my:gruppe2/ns1:FW1/MANDT
To fill the field "art" I use this code:

As you can see, the problem is ns1:FW1. How to fix it?

My query which escapes the search field between {} is

returns the row successfully
However

from CMPS.CM$CONTENT_ITEMS CI
where CONTAINS(content_xml,'{Inspection&am} INPATH(/content/Committee)') > 0
--Note the extra character in between {}
does not return anything.
Can someone tell me if I am escaping the reserved characters correctly?
Is there something that I missed when I created my index i.e
CREATE INDEX CIM_CONTEXT ON
cm$content_items(content_xml) indextype is ctxsys.context;
I am running 9.2.0.4 on RED HAT 3.

The default section group for XMLType column is path section group.
As for his question, the reason why he gets a hit for the first query:
{Inspection&a} INPATH(/content/Committee), is because {Inspenction&a} is lexed as
a phrase "Inspection a" and a by default is 'a' stop word.
And {Inspection&am} is lexed as a phrase "Inspection am". Since there is no such phrase ("am" is not a stop word), the query does not return the row.
If he tries {Inspection&an}, he will get the row because "an" is again by default a stop word.
The behavior is independent of INPATH operator. He will see the same behavior without INPATH operator:
select * from CMPS.CM$CONTENT_ITEMS CI where CONTAINS(content_xml,'{Inspection&a}') > 0;
