Creation of CVC

Hello All,
I am struck in creation of CVC.
I have suucessfully loaded the data from file and I am able to see the data in info cube by selection of "display data in info cue"
But I am not able to create CVC in MPOS. I get message "No new characteristics combinations were loaded"
Please tell me what shall I do ?
I am able to create single CVC.

Dear Prabhat,
please check the date for the data in the cube. This date has to be included in the horizon of the variant you use for generation of CVC's.
You can do it as follows:
1.) Enter txn /n/sapapo/mc62
2.) choose MPOS
3.) click "create characteristic combinations"
4.) click "generate in background"
5.) Load from infoprovider and choose the cube
6.)Make sure that date in cube is included in the horizon
    -> Double check if CVC's are selected by clicking "Number of hits"
7.) fire

How to add Navigation attributes values via ABAP while creation of CVC

Hi,
I have a requirement like, I have to add navigational attributes to the cvc record while CVC creation ( /sapapo/mc62 transaction).
There were two scenarios: 1. Usually when they load master data from BW side those navigation attributes available and when we do CVC creation it's automatically picks those values. If NOT then i have to bring Market segment and Business unit navigational attributes values from ECC via RFC function module by passing MPN and End customer division as a input.
I am facing problem when BW side if business unit and Market segment were blank.
Do we have any Function modules available to add navigational attributes data and should update corresponding master data tables.
Please help me step by step process on this.

Are you intending this as a commercial solution or a work around?
To take an existing equivalent, one would build a view in the database tailored for each grid in an Oracle Forms application. Or a separate query layered over tables for each form/grid in a Delphi or Access application? Even if it is ninety nine percent the same over half a dozen forms/grids?
And now you've added a whole slew of "slightly different" rowSetInfos to maintain.
So if you wanted to add a column that needs to appear everywhere... you've just increased the workload multi-fold?
That would be a management nightmare, wouldn't it? Not to mention yet more performance cost and a slower system?
Hmmmm..... I'm not sure I like where this is headed... someone needs to do some convincing...

Manual Creation of CVCs with rules

Hi,
We would like to apply some rules in our case which should restrict the creation of the CVCs in APO DP.
Example rule:
A material can only be sold to a particular customer only. If the planner would attempt to create a CVC for the same product and another customer then the planner should receive a message that he is not allowed to create this based on an existing rule.
How to achieve this in APO during the creation of the CVCs

Hi,
You can achieve this using BAdi which will get triggered when you will create new CVC using tcode /sapapo/mc62.
/SAPAPO/SDP_MASTER - Enhance characteristic value combinations
/SAPAPO/SDP_PLOB_GET- Determine Characteristic Values Combination
Documentation is available for both the above BAdis.
In the first BAdi you can do all the checks before saving the newly created CVC in the infocube.
I hope this will help you to achieve this.

Master data in R/3 and automatic creation of CVC ?

Hi All,
we have requirement that all the master data created in R/3 should come to APO.Now some of the master data are optionals in R/3 so we need to develop a custom program so that if any master data is missing in APO then Master Data Controller should get email.
Is this possible ? Youe help is highly appreciated.

Hi Prabhat,
You can use a User exit on the APO end. Some of very useful exits that could be used are
1. ZXCIFUSERU14
2. ZXCIFUSERU05
3 ZXATPQUSERU02
4. ZXATPQUSERU06
5. ZXATPQUSERU12
These are the main CIF exits through which data from R/3 flows into APO. You can look inside the data in these exits.
And if the data is not found then you can shoot that mail you were referring to.

Error while creating CVC in background in SCM 7.0

Hi Experts,
I'm running creation of CVC in background,but the job is getting cancelled.In job log I can find below error messages.

What is your source for creation of CVC? Are you trying to create CVCs from infocube?
Could you try out the following to identify the root cause?
In the create CVC (/sapapo/mc62) variant, uncheck the check boxes for all the 3 checks at bottom of the variant, and also uncheck the "adjust time series objects" checkbox.
Come to "selection condition", and select one or few CVCs from your source (Infocube, or flat file, whatever).
Then try to run the job, which should only create one or few CVCs as per your selection criteria.
If you are able to create CVCs in this way, that could mean that you might be having some issue during some check or generation of time series. Delete the created CVCs and again try to create them by activating the checks one by one.
If the above helps in identification of the issue, then it might be possible to attack and resolve the issue e.g. special character, etc.
PS: You could also try the "load to worklist" option to try to identify the CVC having issue. There you can specify one or few CVCs to be created in one go, and this might help in identifying if there is an issue with a certain CVC.

Time series for cvc's

hello
In any case ( whether new cvc's added or the new period is to be included ) we create time series for the planning area. Not aware as to why Adjust time series option is given for Planning Object Structure at the time of creation of cvc's.
Any thoughts please

Yes you are correct we have some background jobs for create time series for the planning area which might execute depending on our frequency. But if you create CVCs and try to check before our program has to be executed in background we might have inconsistency. To avoid this inconsistency it is always advisable to put Adjust Time Series Objects indicator which will immediately Updates the time series objects for new CVC in all planning areas based on this master planning object structure.
SAP always recommends that you update all planning areas immediately due to which we should use this indicator .
Alternatively you can leave these indicator unselected for all new characteristic value combinations. Afterwords to adjust the time series objects at a later date we can choose Adjust Time Series from the context menu for the planning object structure in via S&DP Adminsistration. This also has some of the advantage like that you can create a variant and schedule the job to run later, when there is little system activity.

Mass Creation of Selection Profiles DP and SNP

Could you please support me on the process of creating about 20000 SKU's product selection profiles in DP and Product Location selection profiles for 20000 SKUs plus Semi Finished Goods Codes in SNP .
I understand the creation of CVC's in DP but how to get all these 20000 CVCs into selection profiles in the DP Interactive Planning Book .

Could you please confirm if a SAP APO DRP/Heuristic (Location) refers to low level codes if they are available before DRP run?
Basically im trying to implement Multi location heuristic by excluding Plants and Co packers/Sub contractors based on low level codes. There are several categories of products but to start with we are trying to test and see only for 2 categories. We need to run the 'Whole Model' to generate low level codes. Then for DRP/Location Heuristic run we create selection profiles so that only the chosen 2 categories of products are calculated by referring to low level codes.
The main concern here is for categories where low level codes exist DRP will use it for planning sequence but for categories which are NOT chosen in the selection profile will the system still refer to MATMOD table/Low level codes for planning sequence? Does the system automatically refer to low level codes even if we don't include the skus/categories in selection profile?
Would really appreciate if you could share your experience.

How to configure CVC automation process using SNP master data and BI customer master data

Hi Gurus,
How to configure CVC automation in MPOS structure technically, using SNP master data in CVC creation such as Product and location details
and in parallel extract date from ECC to BI customer master data in DP. Where-in a APO BI cube should have only new combinations which are to be validated with ECC and existing combinations in the MPOS structure before creation of CVC in different regions of MPOS.
Second the automation should also check certain validations of product, location and are part of SNP-ECC master data and are these new combinations.
Could someone guide us in this process.

The short answer is to move the data into infoproviders or flat files for all of the 'characteristic-type' source data; and then copy CVCs from the infoproviders into the Planning area, probably using one or more Process Chains (program /SAPAPO/TS_PLOB_MAINTAIN).
The long answer is that this is not a trivial undertaking; this could end up being a pretty involved solution. If you do not have enough BW/DP expertise available locally to create this solution for you, then I recommend you consider engaging external resources to assist you. I personally wouldn't even consider starting to work on such a solution without first knowing a lot more about the detailed business requirements, and about any existing solutions that may already in place. An SCN forum is not really suitable for such an answer. In my opinion, the BBP doc alone would be 20+ pages, assuming no enhancements..

Deleted CVC's combination for product

My User has deleted the CVC's combination for one product in APO. He is asking me load the deleted data by tracing in ECC.How can we trace out the Product Hierarchy in ECC for the Product. Please help me.

Hi Manasa,
Assuming that the user has deleted the CVCs only in the planning area, I have the following possible options:
1) Do you take backup of data from planning area? If yes, go to the backup cube, and you can find all the CVCs correspodning to the product. Create CVCs using the backup cube. Then load the data from the backup cube to the planning area (by using this material as selection criteria). Most likely you would be able to recover all the lost CVCs/Key Figures in this way (Depends on what kind of backup you take).
2) If you are not taking a backup (I would be very surprsied if this is the case), your task might not be easy. Talk to your BW team. They would be either sending the history data relevant for creation of CVC, or they might also be extracting data from DP planning area for reporting purpose. Either ways, it might be easy to identify the CVCs based on data available in BW system.
Next would come the issue of how to get the Key Figures data against the CVCs. It could be simple or complex depending on your design. I can't directly comment. May be you can get history data easily from BW, and then run the DP jobs in APO to do the relevant calculation, or otherwise wait for the already scheduled DP jobs to run and they would take care of DP related calculations. Be very careful about this part - you would need to understand your DP flow properly before taking any actions.
3) You could try to identify the missing CVCs in R/3 by understanding what all characteristics you use in DP, and how you derive them during creation of CVC. Again you could try to identify how you would get the Key Figures against the CVCs from R/3 to APO. Again, my guess is that these calculations should mostly happen in BW, so above option no. 2 should hold good, but depends on your design. If you are not using BW to get data for DP, your situation could be very tricky.
PS: If backup is taken (option 1), that is the simplest and straight forward option for you, go for it. Otherwise, best of luck.

Error while creating TO in background

Hi Guys,
I am getting error while creating TO in background using Transaction code LB13.
The error is "No batch input data for screen SAPLSTXBC 0100" this is the screen which comes after saving a TO. Here we can give the printing details. If we are doing the TO in foreground with same transaction the data for this screen comes automatically. but in background it is showing the error.
So help me in getting rid of the problem.

Hi,
Go to the T.Code : /SAPAPO/MC62 (Creation of CVC's).
Note : the Planning Object Structure that you use should be DP BOM Enabled.
Click on the button Create Combination and then click on the Back button. (you do not need to create a combination here)
now you should see any extra button which says "Generate DP BOM'.
Click on that and provide necessary details and create.

2) By infocube we load data to PA whats the another way i mean from where we get also data to PA.
3) we transfer demand forecast to R/3 and to which infostructure of R/3 we transfer our DP Data.
4) We transer data to R/3 by Plng job like creating Transfer Prfile and so on ,what could be the job name we give in realtime .

This is already answered by Virendra.
Have you checked the Load from Worklist option in /SAPAPO/MC62.
It allows loading data from multiple sources like a file, BW Infoprovider i.e. infocube etc.

Users enter data to a planning area interactively always. You can also use BAPIs and use them in programs to write data to a planning area. Don't ask for such program code.

Failure of CVC creation via /SAPAPO/TS_PLOB_MAINTAIN

Hello,
I want to generate CVC's via /SAPAPO/TS_PLOB_MAINTAIN and a variant.
In my selection condition in this program I choose one product. The button 'Number of Hits' shows a quantity of 4 CVC's.
After the execution of /SAPAPO/TS_PLOB_MAINTAIN I cannot find any CVC's on the Planning Object Structure with my specified product.
What can be the reason for this failure?

The CVC creation run in background and finished successfully. There are no problems with numeric material code - I recognized the leading zeros.
I do not know /sapapo/mc62 and I did not find it in the system (program which start via se38; transaction).
Do you have any other explanations?

CVC creation - Strange issue with Master data table of 9AMATNR

Hi Experts,
We have encountered a strange issue with Master data table (/BI0/9APMATNR) of info object 9AMATNR.
We have a BADI implemented for checking the valid Characteristic before creation of the CVC using transaction /SAPAPO/MC62. This BADI puts a select on master data tab of material /BI0/9APMATNR and returns no value. But the material actually exists in the table (checked through SE16).
Now we go inside the info object 9AMATNR and go to the Master data Tab. There we go inside the master table
/BI0/9APMATNR and activate that. After activating the table it is read by the select statement inside BADI (Strange) and allows the CVC to be created.
Ideally it should not allow us to activate the SAP standard table /BI0/9APMATNR. I observed that in technical settings of this table it has single record buffering as switched on. (But as per my knowledge buffer gets refreshed every 2 to 4 mins and not in 2 days or something).

Try to use a WAIT statment with 5 seconds before your select statment.

Issue in CVC Creation

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create CVCs but not able to do it. when I check in the log it gives 3 erors
Characteristic value for characteristic XXXXXXX not filled
Value AAAAAA not contained in the master data table for XXXXXX
No new characteristics combinations were loaded
Please let me know what should I do to avoid this error, and how to create a CVC.

Hi ,
this can be caused through a bug. Please check if note 1452746 is already implemented.
Additionally have you flagged 'Check SCM master data' ? In this case system tries to check the values in SCM master data of target planning object structure.
If you don't select 'check SCM master data' flag then there is no check on master data and system asks to maintain the values for characteristic XXXXXX in next screen manually.
