    COULD ANYBODY EXPLAIN about
creation of developement class, package and access key
    and who will create them?

    Working With Development Objects
Any component of an application program that is stored as a separate unit in the R/3 Repository is called a development object or a Repository Object. In the SAP System, all development objects that logically belong together are assigned to the same development class.
    Object Lists
In the Object Navigator, development objects are displayed in object lists, which contain all of the elements in a development class, a program, global class, or function group.
Object lists show not only a hierarchical overview of the development objects in a category, but also tell you how the objects are related to each other. The Object Navigator displays object lists as a tree.
The topmost node of an object list is the development class. From here, you can navigate right down to the lowest hierarchical level of objects. If you select an object from the tree structure that itself describes an object list, the system displays just the new object list.
    For example:
Selecting an Object List in the Object Navigator
To select development objects, you use a selection list in the Object Navigator. This contains the following categories:
    Category
    Meaning
    Application hierarchy
A list of all of the development classes in the SAP System. This list is arranged hierarchically by application components, component codes, and the development classes belonging to them
    Development class
A list of all of the objects in the development class
    Program
A list of all of the components in an ABAP program
    Function group
A list of all of the function modules and their components that are defined within a function group
    Class
A list of all of the components of a global class. It also lists the superclasses of the class, and all of the inherited and redefined methods of the current class.
    Internet service
A list of all of the componentse of an Internet service:
Service description, themes, language resources, HTML templates and MIME objects.
When you choose an Internet service from the tree display, the Web Application Builder is started.
    See also Integrating Internet Services.
    Local objects
A list of all of the local private objects of a user.
Objects in this list belong to development class $TMP and are not transported. You can display both your own local private objects and those of other users. Local objects are used mostly for testing. If you want to transport a local object, you must assign it to another development class. For further information, refer to Changing Development Classes
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/d1/80194b454211d189710000e8322d00/content.htm
    Creating the Main Package
    Use
The main package is primarily a container for development objects that belong together, in that they share the same system, transport layer, and customer delivery status. However, you must store development objects in sub-packages, not in the main package itself.
Several main packages can be grouped together to form a structure package.
    Prerequisites
You have the authorization for the activity L0 (All Functions) using the S_DEVELOP authorization object.
    Procedure
You create each normal package in a similar procedure to the one described below. It can then be included as a sub-package in a main package.
    To create a main package:
    1.       Open the Package Builder initial screen (SE21 or SPACKAGE).
    2.       In the Package field, enter a name for the package that complies with the tool’s Naming Conventions
Within SAP itself, the name must begin with a letter from A to S, or from U to X.
    3.       Choose Create.
The system displays the Create Package dialog box.
    4.       Enter the following package attributes:
    Short Text
    Application Component
From the component hierarchy of the SAP system, choose the abbreviation for the application component to which you want to assign the new package.
    Software component
Select an entry. The software component describes a set of development objects that can only be delivered in a single unit. You should assign all the sub-packages of the main package to this software component.
Exception: Sub-packages that will not be delivered to customers must be assigned to the HOMEsoftware component.
    Main Package
This checkbox appears only if you have the appropriate authorization (see Prerequisites).
To indicate that the package is a main package, check this box.
    5.       Choose  Save.
    6.       In the dialog box that appears, assign a transport request.
    Result
The Change package screen displays the attributes of the new package. To display the object list for the package in the Object Navigator as well, choose  from the button bar.
You have created your main package and can now define a structure within it. Generally, you will continue by adding sub-packages to the main package. They themselves will contain the package elements you have assigned.

  • DBM: Price Package for Parts cash sales order (1000)

    Hi All,
We have a scenario in which OTC sales for parts are required to give 'buy 1 get 1 free'  for some part. This could have been possible by defining a price package to have 2 items included and price maintained for 1 part at header. But SAP DBM order type 1000 does not allow price package to be selected.  Parts order allows only parts packages (where we cannot maintain price at header).
Is there any way to acheive this ?
NB: Service Workshop (2000) Order type allows this, but then it needs to go thru workshop cycle of release, GM, TECO..
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar Khapekar.

    Hello Sagar,
Have you tried to create a new package type which is like a price package and limit only P002 as its item categories (change as needed) and try using it in parts orders.
Make sure that you do not use LV Main type and not all ORG details in the new package type.
    Hope this works.
    Best regards,
    Harsha

  • Can we get database creation script using any packages?

    Hi Friends,
we will get table creation script using dbms_metadata.get_ddl package. just like that is there any way to get database creation script? i know that we can add some lines to controlfile trace to convert it into database creation script. but i would like to know whether it is possible through packages?
    thanks in advance.

I think there's no package to use it for getting database creation script. But anyway, you can search it in [Oracle Database PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/toc.htm]

  • Repair Packages

My computer has recently been running repair_packages by itself. Is this a problem, and if so, how would I fix it?

Apparently, you've tried to open a dmg file and the machine's caught in a loop. Open the Console app in /Applications/Utilities/, show all logs, click on All messages, do a string match for repair_packages, which is used by Disk Utility to verify or repair permissions on installed packages, and see what it's trying verify or repair.

  • Creation of Add-on package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One Client

Please help me creating package for 64 bit and 32 bit SAP Business One. If Add-on executable is compiled with x86 option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 32 bit SAP Business one and if Add-on executable is compiled with Any CPU option then there is no issue of connecting Add-on with 64 bit SAP Business one. Problems are mentioned as below
    1. My Add-on uses MS ACCESS connection and the connection is read using Jet OLEDB 4.0 provider. It works fine for x86 compile mode but not when compile mode is Any CPU. I searched for the issue on Google and found a solution to change MS ACCESS connection provider to ACE.OLEDB.12.0 but again ACE provider is installed according to the Office version i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit office suite. If I install 32 bit ACE provider then Add-on executable compiled with x86 version is working fine but with Any CPU option throws error as provider is not registered on current machine.
    2. Secodly, our license validation activex dll is build using vb 6.0 and therefore when Add-on executable is compiled using Any CPU option, Add-on EXE cannot read from license dll. Any suggestion, how the activeX dll can be compiled whose component can be created from for X86 compiled exe and any cpu compiled exe.
Please help because we are stuck in this issue and cannot move forward.
    Thanks.

    Hi Alejandro,
That is one solution but did your add on used ms access connection? if you used Jet oledb to connection string or ace oledb connection string? what if 32 bit office is installed and what if 64 office is installed? how did you found the office version in install script? after determining the office version how did you installed Microsoft redistributable for ace oledb (32 bit or 64 bi )?
I am sorry that I asked many questions but these are the problems where I am stuck with the addon installer?
    Thanks

  • Service Order Creation from a Repair Order - Reg

    Hi,
I have a situation where a batch of 100 Pieces of a serialized Serviceable Material has been delivered by a Customer. I have to carry out repair and treat each piece as unique. i.e., a Job Order for each Piece of the Material.
I created a Repair Order, Delivery and perform PGR to inward the incoming Serviceable Material. Now each Serial Number is in stock.
Now, is it possible to automatically create 100 different Service Orders (based on Repair procedure) for each Piece and assign Serial Number to each of these Service Orders ? Or should I have to enter 100 line items one after another manually ?
    Thanks.
    Raj

    Raj,
No, if you want to stay within standard, then you need to create 100 items on the repair order each for one unit, then do 100 seperate goods recipts which will then create 100 seperate orders..

  • Service Order creation from a Repair Order

    Hi,
This is about a case of performing Repair services for customers. Customers send their defective product along with replaceable parts for performing the repair. After completing the repair, the repaired Product has to be sent back to the Customer. Then, we claim service charges from the customer for the labor involved.
I created a Problem Notification and from there, a repair order (RAS). However, after taking the defective product into stock, system is not generating a Service Order. It is automatically picking up SM03 and displays "Order Type SM02 is not suitable for repair processing".
Can anyone guide me through the steps required till Billing !!
    Thanks.
    Raj

It is not picking up SM03. It is picking up SM02. And SM02 is not a refurbishment type maintenance order. That is why it is giving this message. Trace back to the requirements class/ requirements type to see which service order type is being determined for the item category.

  • Automatic RMA creation in Depot Repair Orders

    Hi
We are implementing the Oracle Depot Repair Module in 11.5.10.2.
The logistics tab is empty and, the RMA is not created automatically for my repair orders. I am using the Repair Type 'Repair and Return' and followed the oracle Metalink note 412088.1. It still doesn't create the RMA.
Can some one provide the steps in acheiving this thing?
Also, the sequence numbers for SR number is starting from 1 and incremented by 2. I couldn't see any sequence numbers/profiles set from the applications for this. But, could see some sequence from the back end, CS_Incident_types_s. Is this the one which is getting populated inti the sr number in the Service Requests form?
In order to start the number from lets say 1000, do I need to change the sequence?
    Thanks
    Radhika

Go to Logistics General --> Tax on Goods Movement --> India --> Basic Settings --> Maintain Excise Group
There select the Excise Group for Depot and tick the boxes "Create EI" and "Depot Excise Invoice"

  • Delta info Package creation in Production

    Dear BI Gurus
I just want to know whi is the better approach for delta update in production.
    1. creation of delta info package on production server?
    2. or transport from development .
if this is yes then what precautions we have to take ?
    Regards,
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
If you have the necessary authorisations, you can create InfoPackages in Production. However, it is always preferable to transport them from Development in order to maintain synchronisation between the systems.
As an example, imagine if you're transporting a Process Chain from Dev. to Production. In this case, if you've created an InfoPackage directly in Production, the technical names of the InfoPackages in the Process Chain and those in the Production system wont match and you wont be able to activate the process chain unless you transport the InfoPackage from Development.
However, if you need to create an ad-hoc InfoPackage or there is some sort of urgency, you can create the InfoPackage in Production itself.

not sure why the readme referenced the dbms_compression package... guess I should have looked through the package creation script. Thanks for looking at this.I don't think it does -- it's stating that this does the same as DBMS_COMPRESSION, but of course they're just implementing partial functionality of one procedure of DBMS_COMPRESSION. They'd name it something different for that reason, and because it's presence might break an upgrade from 10g to 11g.
I'm not a huge fan of this package
1 The compress_type parameter makes no difference to the code execution, but you still have to supply a valid value.
2 The temporary tables that are created probably ought to be NOLOGGING.
3 The uncompressed table is created without any storage clause so a PCTFREE of 10 is used -- that might be appropriate for OLTP compression (I have no idea) but OLTP compression isn't available in 10g so the metrics would be out anyway. It should probably be hardcoded to a value of 0.
4 There's no error handling to remove the temporary tables in the event of a problem, or detect the pre-existence of the DBMS_COMPRESSION_TEMP_UNCMP or DBMS_COMPRESSION_TEMP_CMP tables.

  • Intinstall image creation

    Hello!
Bombichs' NetBoot/NetRestore is momentarily crippled - you can't make a NetBoot image to drive it with Leopard.
OK, so I figured, let's try Netinstall on a Leopard server.
When making a Netinstall image with no Automator steps, the Image creates well. I copy it over to the Leopard Server. I try to boot a client computer with "n". It finds the image, boots from it. About 10 seconds after the turning circle appears, the machine simply shuts itself off.
When trying to make a Netinstall image using the Automator steps, It gets about 28% through the restore part and then throws up an error message. When it does this, the NetBoot service on the Server also quites with an error message.
The image I make is from a 30 GB volume and the image itself is a littel more than 18GB.
Does anyone have this up and running? Any suggestions?

Since I have spent ALOT of time trying to get this to work. Here are a few things that I have learned from this issue.
    1. Pre- 10.5.2 Install Images can only be created on a Power PC server running 10.5 base. 10.5.1 will work but there are to many variables that must be perfect for it to work.
    2. You must create the install image from a machine in target disk mode, and preferrably intel. I have done it both ways now but my best results come when I create my install image from an intel based unit.
    3. This process will take forever so don't watch it unless you have 45 minutes plus to kill. Also make sure you turn on the log and if you see the error. can't open /etc/bootptab ( on your net boot server ) then you probably had this error during net install creation

The /mnt error is the issue, and a bug has been entered with apple. This should be fixed in the final release of 10.5.2 but anything is possible. But it is fixed in the ADC version of 10.5.2 that is currently on ADC.
